Bringing glasses with their fingers around the top and rolling silverware where I could see you touching more than just the handle. Big no-no. But I just wiped off my stuff with wet napkin to make me feel better about it my only recommendation is I know food costs are high but they could offer a little cornbread basket for table. My sister ordered the brisket and sides, my brother ordered the pork ribs and a side and my mother ordered the rib tips with a side. I ordered the brisket with pulled pork and coleslaw. My brother and my sister's meals were great. My mom's rib tips were dry and uneatable. I ordered the brisket and pulled pork. The pork was delicious and the brisket, some was dry and some was cooked with moisture and juicer. My mother's meal was taken off the check. This is a great place to get your bbq on. I got the $57.00 entree for 3-4 people. It came with shredded pork, brisket, 1/2 chicken and a full slab of ribs. Everything was delicious. Oh it also came with 4 sides as well. The beans and Cole slaw were really good and so was the jalapeno cornbread. I would go back again in a heartbeat. The microbrews are only $5.00 too. Last year we were here before the rodeo, and the prime rib was amazing, today we went before rodeo and the prime rib was tough, and overcooked. They also ran out of prime rib before 5:00 pm. First time to Baldy's. Seating is like a picnic with high top and low picnic style seating. We had a party of 11 family and service was good. They were out of the catfish, so I ordered the ribs and chicken combo with coleslaw and jalapeno cornbread plus a side of chili, that we shared. I tried their spicy margarita, sadly even with added jalapeños, it was not spicy. The flavor was tangy and a little sweet. I liked it regardless of it not being spicy. The chili was a bit spicy, smokey flavored and hearty with beans, peppers and meat, accompanied by onions, sour cream, cheese and cornbread. I would order this again. The ribs were cooked perfectly, the meat just fell off the bone. Smothered in bbq sauce that was tangy and delicious. I added some spicy bbq sauce from the table to jazz it up a bit. The chicken was disappointing. The breast meat was tough and rubbery, I couldn't even chew it. The leg and thigh meat was cooked well. I think the breast side needed to be cooked awhile longer to get more tender and juicy as they advertise. The coleslaw was crunchy with a nice dressing, not too sweet or runny. The jalapeno cheesy cornbread had no jalapenos in it that I could find. Although the bread itself was good, again I was disappointed that there were no jalapeños to be found. The pulled pork was a little dry yet flavorful. The brisket was also a little dry but with good flavor. I liked most of the meal and would recommend others to give it a try, I personally would not go back. I will seek out some other bbq places to try. read more

Very disappointed. Took over an hour to get our food and it wasn't even very busy. This made us very disappointed. Another fault was the root beer and brisket weren't good at all. Unfortunate Experience @ Baldy's BBQ in Redmond, OR. 1st Problem: The Prime Rib was just horrible. No way around it, tough and chewy, and we politely asked for something else. We were satisfied and happy that Conner, our host/bartender/server was gracious throughout our time here. He took the prime rib off the bill (rightfully so) and checked in on us thoroughly. 2nd Problem: As a replacement for the horrible Prime Rib, we asked for the Brisket Burnt Ends. What a mistake! It was covered in a questionable teriyaki glaze and sesame seeds, of all things... (not BBQ sauce like the menu states) we could have just gone to a Thai restaurant if we were looking for a decent Asian inspired flavor on more tender meat. The smothered fries for an appetizer were good. The pulled pork sandwich was just okay and the side salad was basic, but did have a tasty balsamic dressing to elevate it. The coleslaw and cornbread were pretty good, but the beans were not. The bar area was decent, except for the Problem 3: blaring music which made it hard to have a decent conversation, but good if you aren't? Also, the bathroom Problem 4: doesn't have any paper towels, only a 'hand dryer', which is gross. So yeah, one of us had an okay meal, the other was.... Biggest Problem: up all night in the bathroom... because of the Prime Rib and Brisket Burnt Ends. You've been warned. We won't be returning. read more

I understand the Kansas City tradition (though I prefer Texas), but BBQ sauce should be more interesting than spicy ketchup. Garlic mashers were quite good, but cornbread would have been better without jalapeños. Also, they serve the butter frozen solid so it never really thaws during the meal. Butter should be kept at room temperature! Service was friendly and quickly corrected an error before I had even mentioned it. Decor is typical for a BBQ restaurant and there are tvs with a good variety of sports on, but the inane country music destroys any semblance of pleasantness. I don't live country music in general, but what they had playing is just bad pop music with a southern twang - the worst of all possible musical worlds. We go here every time we're in Redmond and the food is great. Usually we come for the full rack of ribs special and it never disappoints, falling off the bone meat covered in Cat's Meow BBQ sauce. The sides are good too, we like baked beans and coleslaw with a baked potato, but the garlic mashers are good, too. I recently ordered 2 meals for takeout. One was a half order of ribs with baked beans and a salad. Second order was a brisket plate with cornbread and mac and cheese. I ordered a Prime Rib Sandwich on 10/9. It was the special of the day. I asked for the prime rib to be medium rare and no blue cheese on top. I picked up my order and to my dismay when I got home I found that the prime rib was beyond well done. I called Baldys to let them know. The girl I spoke to didn't request any of my information and simply said, "I'll tell the chef" then hung up. IS THIS THEIR LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE??? I sent an email to Baldys the follow day explaining this and they have not responded to the email at all. AGAIN IS THIS THEIR LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE? I paid $20 for a lunch that I threw out -- that's how overdone it was!! I don't normally indulge myself with a $20 lunch but was celebrating that day. I liked Baldys the few times I went for dinner, however I would recommend to anyone ordering food to pick up from them that you stay there with a waitperson and examine everything before accepting the order. Evidently the chef doesn't know AT ALL how to cook a steak. To add to that Baldys doesn't care about their customers or any level of customer service. It's not a place I intend to go back to. This is a typical every day, barbecue, nothing special, just made fit to meet the masses. I will say their beans are not to my liking. Unless you like mush with pineapples in it. Beware the burnt ends have teriyaki sauce, why I don't know, but that's the way they make them and it kind of ruined it for me. I am the safety supervisor of a local company, and we recently had a company lunch and got the food at Baldy's. EVERYONE RAVED!! It was fantastic! If I had one caveat, it would be that as I was carrying out all that food to my car, I asked for help carrying it and was told, "Okay, sure", but didn't get any help. 1. Probably the worst BBQ I've ever had 2. My kids wouldn't even eat the Mac and cheese So I tasted it. Pasta was cooked but it was otherwise tasteless. 3. Not a single soul was wearing a mask. We think that we have found our go to BBQ restaurant in Redmond. We ordered: Pulled Pork Sandwich Memphis-style on Texas Toast with Mac & Cheese; Brisket Sandwich Memphis-style on a bun with onion rings; and half rack Baby-back Ribs with beans and garlic bread. Baby-back Ribs were very good. Normally, we take some home; but, they were so good that we ate all of them. Garlic bread received a mixed review mostly because it was garlic flavored Texas Toast and not what we think of as garlic bread. Pulled Pork Sandwich was good, especially when eaten with house spicy BBQ sauce. Memphis-style added flavorful coleslaw to the sandwiches. Using Texas Toast in place of a bun is a nice touch. Mac & Cheese received low marks from everyone at the table, too dry. I really liked the Brisket Sandwich. The brisket had a nice bark and full of flavor. I tried it with no sauce, regular sauce, and spicy sauce. It was very good all three ways. Onion rings were average, not crispy and a bit oily. The chipotle-ranch dipping sauce had a nice bite to it.
