We had lunch today at the CurbBBQ food truck at the "On Tap" food truck lot on the east side of Bend. I would definitely give it a 5++ star rating! Service was prompt and excellent. We had the brisket sandwich w/fries and the pulled pork with coleslaw. The portions were hugh and the food delicious! The coleslaw was beyond excellent and I'm a "Coleslaw Nut". Couldn't talk the owner out of his homemade coleslaw dressing, but tried... Oh, and the food truck lot was spacious, clean and nicely shaded on a warm Bend afternoon. I'd highly recommend the CurbBBQ food truck!!!

I was in bend from Portland doing deliveries, my buddy recommended this place a couple days prior. He recommended the brisket grilled cheese. It was about 4 miles out of my way this past Wednesday during the snow storm but brisket grilled cheese sounded sooo good & it did not disappoint. It had that melty, cheesy, smokey goodness you would expect. The guy didn't seem happy to be at work. Not friendly at all otherwise this would be a 4.5 star since it is a food truck & yelp wont let me do 1/2 stars. Well done on the food. Great portion excellent taste! I'll be back

    Where's the meat??

This what an 18 dollar pork rib special looks like at curb-BBQ. The ribs are literally CRUNCHY!! More like jerky and that not an exaggeration. Under the flap of chewy grizzle is just unseasoned, plain pork. These might even be parboiled ribs as there is not sign of smoke that I can see or tater. Tossed it all in the trash except the cornbread which is good but seemed boxed. These guys need to pay a visit to Roger That BBQ in Salem, Matt's BBQ in PDX or Pete's Meats at Oregon City Brewery and have them teach them how to make bbq. This really should just be a burger cart cuz the double down burger is actually pretty good but the few offerings of " BBQ" are pretty disappointing.

The smallest order of tacos and cold fries.

Follow up after owner responded. Very prompt response to my negative review. He did a nice job following up with me. We will give them another shot. ***************** We ordered three items from Curbbq on New Years Eve. In the attached picture, you will see the smallest three tacos I have ever seen. We paid 10 dollars for 5 bites of taco. Look nothing like the picture on their website. They tasted good, but it was not even an appetizer size. We also ordered a brisket grilled cheese. The sandwich was good. The fries were bone cold, not lightly warmed, actually cold. Like out of the fridge, cold. We asked for a new order of fries. They dumped a luke warm pile of fries on top of the cold ones. The bbq chicken wrap was good. I do not think we will be back. The truck was located at On Tap

    Smoked wings....

Salty and honestly for a basket of wings this small, please don't charge what you're charging.

Excellent brisket. The sides are high quality. Price feels appropriate for the quantity. Will be going back for more.

Very disappointing barbecue. One of the driest briskets I've ever had. Sides of potato salad and coleslaw were decent. Would not recommend.

The portions make sense for the price, the quality is consistent, and you don't leave feeling ripped off. I also really appreciate that they package their to-go food cleanly and securely. Nothing spills, nothing's sloppy. Location: It's in a super convenient spot. I can call the order in from work, they tell me it'll be ready in 15 minutes, and we pick it up on the way home. Easy, no stress, and it still feels like a treat at the end of the day. Tips: The combos are the way to go if you want a ton of food and some variation. It's the easiest way to try a little of everything without spending a fortune. Don't forget the coleslaw and sides! Think ahead about buns and sides if you're planning to stretch it into multiple meals. We keep fresh buns at home and toast them for each round, then reheat the pulled pork and pile it on with coleslaw - so good and enough food to last us a few days. To pair, throw together quick nachos (tortilla chips, shredded cheese, sliced black olives) in the microwave for 60 seconds - pair with sour cream and salsas you like! At home, if you're heating the potatoes, add a little butter on top before warming them up. It keeps everything moist and brings the flavor back to life. PSA: I love that it's an older Bend staple. Baldy's hasn't changed in the 26 years I've been going, and I had no clue it opened in 2005 as well (according to Bend Source)! It feels good supporting a place that's been around for that long, especially with the cost and quality control that comes with good meat. Genuinely, it's the only barbecue spot in Bend that's never let me down (or given tummy-trouble's) - so yeah, let's support the locals that keep showing up.

Upgraded to the onion rings which were far better than expected - that seasoning is a winner. Ribs were good, not overly sauced, and pulled apart relatively easily. I downed the whole mess faster than I should have, meaning it was tasty and easy to enjoy. Thanks for the meal, Baldy's!

The bartender let me try two but that was my preference. The pretzel was delicious. I'm not a huge beer cheese fan but it was hot and delicious with the mustard around the outside. We were curious about the cask beer which apparently is warm (or room temperature) and flat- not what you look for normally in a beer! The nice bartender let us try it just out of curiosity- not for me! I'd come back to try lunch or dinner.

Yay! It was the best veggie burger my husband has had in a long time... he added avocado and vegan cheese (which did make it a bit pricey). Awesome that you can do many different sides including regular fries, Cajun fries, salad, chips, and more options... do wish they had onion rings however. I got the hummus plate which was good but not the best I've had. It came with a baguette which was more like garlic bread so I would have, personally, liked pita more. It also had a few olives on the side with a red pepper type sauce. I got it with no pickled onions. They had a great beer selection and even a few tasty non-alcoholic beers. Also had kombucha on tap which was delicious (from Humm). Everyone working was super sweet and the vibes were relaxed and casual. Our food came out quick and exactly how we ordered it. They also seemed to have spaces for larger parties, too. They also have a little gift shop if you wanted to pick anything from shirts, to bottle openers, to beer candles and more! Would come back again!

I started with mussels and clams (seafood will always be my first pick) and scallops for my husband--both were incredible. For the main event, I had the blackened redfish (SO good) which is the best I have had outside of New Orleans and the steak lover went all in on the ribeye... and let's just say there were zero leftovers! We ate here on a recent trip from Eugene and we're excited to see a cajun style restaurant in Bend…read more The restaurant is nice inside and has a low key upscale feel. The menu isn't very large and I think we both settled on choices quickly, deciding to try the most "quintessential" entrees to share. I chose the Blackened Redfish, and my boyfriend the Jambalaya. Even though we had already decided, the waitress went on her whole spiel through the menu highlights, including what we had already had planned to order. Awkward, but it was fine, and we didn't stray from our original choices. The Blackened Redfish was perfectly cooked and flaky. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes with a slightly tangy sauce. All of it was tasty, but I was a bit disappointed in the lack of spice to the blackening seasoning and the sauce. Also, serving it on grits instead of mashed potatoes would have made it feel 100% more Cajun, even with lack of seasoning. The Jambalaya fared a bit better, although my boyfriend was also left puzzled by the lack of spice to this classic dish. In all ways it was a very good representation of New Orleans style red jambalaya, with the andouille sausage being particularly notable for flavor. The cornbread it came with was pretty good. We shared a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. A very decadent concoction of chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel. It was one of the better $12 slices of cake I've had. Overall? The service was good, if not a bit awkward with the menu spiel. The food was all very well prepared, but for a Cajun style restaurant they sure could stand to spice things up a bit. It's not cheap, but at least the entrees are a full sized meal and you don't have to order many "tiny plates" to cobble together a dinner.
