Hello! If you follow or look at my reviews you know I am a beer fan. On Tap in Bend Oregon is one of the best Taphouses I have been to!! They have an amazing selection and variety of beer. There is a very good outdoor seating vibe with lots of space, you can either set in with the crowd or they have little sections where you can get away from the crowd. Dogs and well behaved supervised kids are allowed. The taproom service was top notch and dialed in. While they do not serve food themselves, there is a large variety of food trucks available for you to get some food! This would be a great place to hangout for awhile with your friends, great beer and a huge variety of food! We will definitely be back! read more

on tap in bend is basically a command center you walk in and it's just food trucks orbiting. bbq smoke drifting through like a signal. hawaiian spot right there (my friend owns it, from kauai, very real, no notes, automatic top marks). something else in a bowl happening nearby. you don't build a meal here it assembles itself around you got a beer. found a spot. immediately noticed they had the right game on. not a random game. the one you were hoping for but didn't say out loud place runs like a system. people moving. orders landing. dogs doing their part now the water cups still got that chlorine situation. like a confident rinse that never got fully resolved and i say that with experience. full year in a boarding school dish house. me, chris, and pat. every night. racks, steam, no mercy there was a stretch where morale dipped and then cotton eye joe would come on and chris would start dancing through the dish line like it was a tactical reset but the one thing he never missed was the rinse. clean. dry. no memory left behind so just offering a simple field guide here: step 1: wash like you mean it. hot water. soap doing real work. don't rush this part step 2: first rinse. strong. clear everything out. no bubbles no excuses step 3: sanitize. respect the process. don't freestyle the timing step 4: final rinse. this is where championships are won. hot clean water. full commitment. no shortcuts step 5: air dry. no stacking wet like a risky investment. give it space. let it become what it's supposed to be that's it. chris built a whole reputation on that system and honestly everything else here is already dialed bbq hitting. hawaiian spot elite. game correct. energy right five stars one more rinse and it's a perfect operation read more

Located in bend Oregon on tap is one of the areas many beer gardens. On tap has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. The drinks are very reasonably priced. I had one of the kombuchas on tap - I wish they had a root beer! Several food carts are located on the premises . I would recommend rushes squares or the bleu rooster! I went to On Tap last night for dinner and a drink and had a great time! My family and I played cards while we enjoyed the evening--such a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The beer selection is excellent, with plenty of local Bend brews on tap as well as some great options from Portland. This time I ordered from the Mexican food truck and it really hit the spot. On past visits I've tried the BBQ and pizza trucks, and both were fantastic. I love that there are so many options depending on what you're in the mood for. Even a truck just for dogs!!! The setting is also a big highlight--umbrellas provide nice shade during the day, and the bar has a welcoming open-wall indoor setup that makes it easy to grab a drink and hang out. Also, the wait for food and drinks was very short despite it being labor day weekend! Very impressive! Definitely going back soon! read more

Nice to see something like this on the east side of Bend. While it doesn't have the same outdoorsy charm as a place on the west side (with the tall trees for instance), they've done a good job with lots of seating, with options inside as well as outside and outside covered. There's a sizable grass area (though currently looks like they're trying to re-seed the missing chunks) where I saw a family set up a blanket for a picnic. Lots of food truck options and the layout is simple and easy to compare your options side by side. Drink options were plenty, though it didn't seem like you could get just a soda if you wanted one but I didn't look that hard. Ice cold self-serve water was good with me. Bartender was friendly. We ordered a couple items from the BBQ truck (will do a separate review). There appears to be a nice sized stage for live performances as well as multiple fire pits and heaters for when things cool down at night or in the winter. Parking is a decent size, though don't be fooled by your map app and turn into the shopping strip just before it, they have signs everywhere that that parking is NOT for the food trucks/on Tap. Optional street parking as well, even if the street is a little tight. Would return for sure. read more

It's super popular, so it's usually busy, that's why I gave it one star off - sometimes you just want to sit and hang out but so does everyone else. Food trucks are almost always peak, sometimes closed or sold out - like I said it's popular and good - and the tap list always has something new and interesting. I drink more ciders and meads now, so I wish there were more of those available, but they do have enough "non beer" that I'm not faulting them for that. read more

This is probably our favorite food truck pod in Bend, Oregon. It is off of 27th street, north of Greenwood on the east side of town. There are usually 6 food trucks there. Our favorites are the pizza (Rush's Squares), gyros or Reuben sandwiches (The Bleu Rooster), and BBQ (CurbBBQ). There is some seating inside but much more outside. There are fire pits, a lawn to play cornhole, and during the summer live music some nights. During the winter they set up an enclosed area with heaters so you can enjoy the food even with the snow! Large selection of beers, wine and some non-alcoholic drinks. Very family friendly environment. A great place to eat and relax in the evening. read more

They have a large selection of beer as well as some ciders and kambucha. On tap was so fun! Outdoor seating with space to roam and a variety of food options- perfect for a family with kids. I also appreciated that some of the trucks had items for kids. I had a hard time picking which truck to try try but I ended up trying the shrimp po boy and the PBLT. The shrimp po boy was delicious. PBLT was a bit dry. The food trucks were awesome and provided a good mix of different cuisines. Customer service was excellent. Food truck pods are a thing here in Bend, which is good. And it would be even better if the food trucks themselves held up their end of the deal. I've yet to find more than one that I really like at any particular pod. As it is, having essentially an outdoor patio with myriad draft beer choices conveniently located is why I come to On Tap. The Lot and, less so, The Podski are also on my rotation. On Tap has a fairly expansive footprint with a good amount of bench and picnic table seating, some under umbrella, and significantly fewer seats under cover of the permanent structure. It falls well short of The Lot is this regard but well ahead of Podski. Beer. That's why you're here. On Tap is the leader in draft choices and at $4 a pint, the price can't be beat. Plus, like The Lot and unlike Podski, it's served in glasses, not plastic cups. Ordering is easy and th folks behind the counter are unfailingly pleasant, as if they like their jobs. That's pretty much what you get at all the pods, though. Nice people. The expansive footprint includes quite a bit of play room for kids, so On Tap tends to draw the rugrats more than The Lot, which seems more adult-oriented (although by no means rugrat free). Trucks are located in the parking lot right in front of you. Unlike The Lot (or from El Bueno at 99 Brewery for that matter), food is not delivered. On Tap has a relatively large array of options but most are not terrifically vegetarian-friendly, if that's how you roll. Small parking lot - I've always had to park on the street even when the pod is not busy. And as Camille H points out, when the wind kicks up, dust can be an issue from the empty lots surrounding. I trust that Bend's explosive construction boom will remedy that before too long. read more

(tourist review) What's Good: enjoy the nice environment with beers and lunch at one of the food trucks. On Tap is one of the half-dozen food truck pods in Bend. This one is nearby the Costco and Whole Foods, so could be a planned trip if you're in the area around lunchtime or just want a beer. This spot had the most extensive beer and cider list of all the food truck pods we visited. So if beer variety is what you're looking for, On Tap is it. The P.B.L.T. (Pork Belly Lettuce Tomato) at Bleu Rooster is delicious, but something about Pork Belly makes it a shared dish for me. Very well-made sandwich, especially with the Pomme Frites on the side. Just tell them to go easy on the salt for the fries though. The Reuben is something that seems to be popular here, so would be on my list for next time. Jackaroo Pies has some delicious Aussie meat pies (think chicken pot pie with various fillings). We had The Classic which has ground beef, some fillers and gravy -- pretty damn good. It was our first experience with an Austrailian pie and I would not hesitate to come back for another taste. Philly Style has some authentic tasting Philly cheesesteaks. Not from Philly, but I've visited all the staples there and this place is the first I've had on the west coast that has the authentic bun (an Amoroso roll) and offers cheez whiz as an option. Something about a Philly cheesesteak in cold weather...so good. Choose any of the Cheesesteaks that matches your preference, but I would go with the Pepper Cheesesteak with either American or Whiz. read more

Sidled up to the BbQurb for a chicken bbq taco or two the other day. This pod boasts a fairly large central indoor/outdoor dining area, plus lots of outside tables. Didn't count them, but there must be half a dozen trucks from which to choose. I've had the Mexican food (8), and the bbq (8), and will try them all before long. Overall,the people are friendly, the beer choices are good and the grounds are comfortable. Parking is an issue, as there just isn't much there. And if you get a spot in the small lot, you have to back out, threading your way down a narrow lane. If they stay this busy, maybe they can rent another piece of land for parking. read more

It was just ok. The draw is the space for big groups. We had a very large group so the grass area was perfect. We even brought our own folding chairs. A lot of the food trucks were sold out of key items. Some only had one person working so the service was slow. Food was good and atmosphere was fun. read more

On Tap features a wide variety of beers on tap, several well known food trucks including Barrio, the Rogue Chef, East meets West, Philly Style, Himalayan bites, and Curb BQ. What we loved: Great location near St. Charles, Deschutes County Health services and within walking distance of several businesses. A nice variety of beer, wine and of course food trucks. A grassy area for kids to play on or to sit on. Covered area and some tables and benches. Prices are very reasonable $6-$13 for large servings of food. Quick service from most of the food trucks. Beer on tap - see online for list or picture of taps. Places available to recycle cans and bottles. What we didn't love. Parking can be challenging. Not enough seating, half of our party sat on a bench the other half sat on the pavement. Lines were long at a couple of the food trucks. We waited 10-15 minutes in line and another 10 minutes for our food. It was a hot day, and our group would have loved some ice cream, gelato or a smoothie or other kind of icy drink.
