We stopped by Crosscut while waiting for our order from Abe's. The interior is clean, open, and welcoming. They have a good selection of drinks. Our two adult beverages were made quickly and exactly what we were looking for. It looked like most everyone inside was hanging out for a while, including families with kids. Our visit was relatively short (~25 minutes), but we will definitely be going back for a longer visit in the future.

Cool place to hang out especially if you are staying at the Springhill Suites since it's right next door. Brewery and food always a great combination. They have beer and wine and lots of places to sit. Staff are super friendly.

Really cozy place! Visited on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. There was also live music and we had to practically yell to give our order at the bar. 3 food trucks outside with a good array of food choices. The pizza cart was tasteful and warm, perfect for enjoying outside around the fire pit on a chilly night. I'd visit again if in the area!

Love this place! The bartenders are all great and knowledgeable about the beer they are serving. Fantastic ambiance year round whether it's hot or winter time cold. Great rotation of taps featuring beers you can't find elsewhere.

Fun place with a good selection of beers and ciders. The food trucks outside make it the perfect place for a bite and a brew.

It's been awhile since we came back here and I was surprised they added some bourbons to the menu. You can only get them neat or over the rocks, which I do not mind at all. Our bartender Kyle was super patient with us while we all figured out what we wanted to drink. They have some really good selection...I'll leave it at that.

Cool atmosphere. 2 story interior. Wine, beer & whiskey. Food trucks. Sun and shade. In the hub of a lot of other beer and food. Service was efficient & friendly.

This is a really cool area. I could see myself hanging here many nights. Especially interesting in the winter with that giant fire place still. The beer was good and I would love to see how they rotate through, plus they have a solid looking whiskey list. A must revisit on next trip.

Do we have enough taproom & food truck pods in Bend? Apparently not what with this new one and another one coming on 4th street (eastside). I'm not complaining. - Prices are in line with everyone else in Bend. - Extensive tap list full of local beers. It's much bigger than the other beer/food truck pod located nearby (The Podski), for example. - Limited food cart offerings so far but it includes the best pizza in town (Abe Capanna's). The Podski greatly exceeds Crosscut in this regard (except for the pizza) and I'm not sure how Crosscut can put more trucks/carts in their space. - Nice indoor area; nice outdoor area. The inside is a ski-lodge style high-ceiling affair and the outside is various benches, seats and tables with a couple of iron fire pits. Given The Current Unpleasantness (COVID-19), I'm not terribly comfortable inside, especially since none of the patrons were masked. But outside is definitely doable and there's plenty of social distancing space built into the tap counter for when you order your beer. - Smallish parking lot but there's also street parking nearby. I have to think the Box Factory folks will frown on people parking in their lot, which is just across the street from Crosscut. I like it. With a lot of competition nearby (The Podski, Immersion Brewing, Crux Fermentation, Brown Owl, River Pig, Spoken Moto) they need to be good to survive, I think.

I loved this place! It had a great warm atmosphere, cozy vibe... great bar menu and friendly service. Loved the outdoor spaces too.

A beer and a cider outside on a warm-ish March day!

Half the fun is searching the property for it--and don't worry, I won't spoil where we found it! Once inside, it truly felt like a hidden gem. The space is cozy and intimate, with comfortable places to sit and a full bar that feels tucked away from the rest of the property. It was especially festive during the holidays, with Christmas drink specials adding to the charm. I ordered the NA Merry Cherry, which was gingery, slightly spicy, and super refreshing--a great non-alcoholic option. My wife had The Countess and said it was absolutely delicious. Between the atmosphere, the drinks, and the fun of discovering it, The Broom Closet was a total win. If you're ever staying at McMenamins Bend, make sure you take the time to search for The Broom Closet--it's well worth the adventure!

Once we did find it, we enjoyed a cocktail and sitting in a quiet nook. It's definitely not a large space or a loud space, but something more to be savored and enjoyed. The bartender was extremely kind and engaging. Even if you aren't staying at the hotel, I would highly recommend coming to check this place out.

Follow the alley. Trust me…read more You know those places you stumble into and immediately think, "Yep...this is my kind of spot"? That was San Simón for me. At first, walking down the alley in downtown Bend, I honestly was not sure what we were about to find. Then we started seeing little fire pit pods, heated huts, glowing candles, and people tucked away having cocktails. It instantly felt cool without trying too hard. Walking into San Simón felt like stepping into some funky speakeasy hidden in plain sight. Dark lighting, moody atmosphere, David Bowie playing in the background, wild artwork on the walls that makes you stop and stare for a second. Just a great vibe all around. The kind of place where you sit down and immediately relax into the evening. The cocktails were excellent. Not overdone, not syrupy, just really balanced and well made. One of our favorites was the "Some Positive Feedback," which came with this sugar rim that looked awesome and added just enough sweetness without overpowering the drink. Bright citrus flavor, refreshing, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Then we asked the bartender if they could just make us something off the cuff. We said vodka, lemon and lime forward, not too sweet, maybe a little spice. They absolutely nailed it. Crisp, refreshing, layered citrus flavor with just enough heat on the back end to keep it interesting. Honestly one of those cocktails where everybody at the table takes a sip and immediately goes, "Oh wow." As a bourbon guy, I was also pleasantly surprised with the whiskey selection. The bartender recommended Stafford's Reserve, an Oregon bourbon, and I am glad I listened. Smooth, approachable, a little sweet up front with some spice on the finish. Easy sipping bourbon that fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. What really made the night though was the staff. Everybody was friendly in that genuine way where you feel welcomed instead of "served." By the end of the night it honestly felt like we had been there before, even though it was our first visit. The outdoor setup deserves some love too. Bend cooled down at night, but the fire pits and heaters kept everything comfortable. We could have easily stayed another couple hours just hanging out. Pricing felt fair for the quality of drinks and atmosphere. This is not a dive bar pretending to be fancy. It is a genuinely cool cocktail spot that knows exactly what it is. If you are in Bend and enjoy craft cocktails, bourbon, cool music, quirky atmosphere, and places with personality, go find San Simón. Half the fun is finding it tucked down the alley in the first place.
