I'm from out of town and I really love flamingos, so we decided to stop by for drinks. They have a couple of cozy tables outside by the fire, and the inside is absolutely stunning--more plants than I could count, a beautiful bar, and gorgeous decor. The staff were very welcoming, even though it was almost full. I ordered the 'Pretty Pink Drink.' While I didn't personally enjoy it because it tasted a bit like black licorice to me, I still had a great time and would definitely come back. My friend tried the 'French Something' drink, and that one was pretty great! I just wish there were more flamingos!

Great spot for an old fashioned and a library book.

My previous review stands but last two times I've visited Flamingo, the music volume wasn't unacceptably loud. So, an improvement.

The decor and ambiance is amazing. Great place to go with friends or on dates. At night it's probably even more magical. Our drinks were really good-- expensive though-- but it's what you'd expect at a craft cocktail place like this. The staff were super nice and helpful-- very personable and cool. I instantly felt welcomed and comfortable. It's fancy and relaxed at the same time. Will be back!

Our bartender was amazing! We told him what we liked and he had some amazing recommendations. He even made a new drink for a friend when he saw she wasn't quite enjoying it. Cool vibe here, especially with the decor. Ambiance is moderate, definitely not a quiet place but not so loud that you can't converse. Highly recommend for craft cocktails!

Favorite bar in bend by a landslide! The ambiance and vibe is so cute, lots of plants. At times the service could definitely be better, the workers are definitely busy and it shows in the wait time between drinks. Overall though my favorite mixed drinks are here

Great fun... New location, excellent owner, highly oxygenated environment, fantastic vibe... YELP Short Answer: YES please visit but leave us a spot! Location: Kind of an out of the way locals spot, well I hope so but doubt that will be the case. Buildout: Really tasteful seating area, casual and maybe a little loud but a very cool experience indeed. This is not a huge location but some outdoor seating when the Bend weather permits. Menu: Well this is about libations and fun and yes, they do have some great looking food options but we just enjoyed the Moroccan Goldfish and a well made beverage. Presentation: Was great on a busy night, nothing fancy for tastefully done. Food: I'd say everyone eating was a happy camper or glamper if they were from out of town ; ) Waitstaff: Awesome, happy, fast paced. Value: Hard to put a value on it, it is a great experience along with excellent food and beverage options... and plants, lots of plants. For sure drop in early, like at 5pm, or wait for them to open or the place and claim your area as this place fills up quickly. Nice job, impressed that Flamingo Room is something fresh for this town.

I am giving them 5 stars only because they market themselves as a high quality cocktail bar and that they do deliver on. The lite bites left something to be desired but again they don't market themselves on being a place you should eat. The empanadas were good, the other dips and snacks we had were just ok. The random potato chips served were weird but again bar not restaurant. Service was very good, and extremely fast considering there was not a single open seat when we arrived on a late Saturday evening. Ambiance is definitely a whole vibe. You get very sexy, intimate date night vibes here. You may have to use you candle to read your menu line I did but I'm in my 30s now so that is on me not them. Will bring my wife back.

Bites and nibbles. Cod, spicy pickled asparagus and tapenade.

I would've given 5 stars, but super bummed that I paid more for my drink than it was priced at in the menu. I ordered a Cabernet and the wait staff came back and asked me if I had said Cabernet or Chardonnay and I said "oh it was a Cabernet". They then delivered a Chardonnay to the table and I told the server that I had ordered a Cabernet and she went back and fixed it. When my bill came, I was charged for a Chardonnay, and when I told the waitstaff that I was billed incorrectly, the response was "they're the same price so don't worry about it." Well as she was running my card I saw that there was actually a three dollar difference and the Chardonnay was $12 and the Cabernet was $9. Kind of a bummer that they just blew me off about it. I actually ordered the Cabernet partially because it was cheaper Anyway, the atmosphere was fun, a cool little spot. I will go back again and give it a try, but when drinks and food are so expensive nowadays, you need to save wherever you can.

A spectacular, intimate, and a unique spot to gather with your friends to imbibe and enjoy yourselves. The Flamingo Room feels like a cool big city spot right in the heart of Bend. So excited to have this place in our backyard. The drinks are delicious. Small tapas interesting. The mixologist team on the night we went are appropriately "hip" while being extremely friendly. 5-stars!

Groovy space. Love it.

Follow the alley. Trust me…read more You know those places you stumble into and immediately think, "Yep...this is my kind of spot"? That was San Simón for me. At first, walking down the alley in downtown Bend, I honestly was not sure what we were about to find. Then we started seeing little fire pit pods, heated huts, glowing candles, and people tucked away having cocktails. It instantly felt cool without trying too hard. Walking into San Simón felt like stepping into some funky speakeasy hidden in plain sight. Dark lighting, moody atmosphere, David Bowie playing in the background, wild artwork on the walls that makes you stop and stare for a second. Just a great vibe all around. The kind of place where you sit down and immediately relax into the evening. The cocktails were excellent. Not overdone, not syrupy, just really balanced and well made. One of our favorites was the "Some Positive Feedback," which came with this sugar rim that looked awesome and added just enough sweetness without overpowering the drink. Bright citrus flavor, refreshing, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Then we asked the bartender if they could just make us something off the cuff. We said vodka, lemon and lime forward, not too sweet, maybe a little spice. They absolutely nailed it. Crisp, refreshing, layered citrus flavor with just enough heat on the back end to keep it interesting. Honestly one of those cocktails where everybody at the table takes a sip and immediately goes, "Oh wow." As a bourbon guy, I was also pleasantly surprised with the whiskey selection. The bartender recommended Stafford's Reserve, an Oregon bourbon, and I am glad I listened. Smooth, approachable, a little sweet up front with some spice on the finish. Easy sipping bourbon that fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. What really made the night though was the staff. Everybody was friendly in that genuine way where you feel welcomed instead of "served." By the end of the night it honestly felt like we had been there before, even though it was our first visit. The outdoor setup deserves some love too. Bend cooled down at night, but the fire pits and heaters kept everything comfortable. We could have easily stayed another couple hours just hanging out. Pricing felt fair for the quality of drinks and atmosphere. This is not a dive bar pretending to be fancy. It is a genuinely cool cocktail spot that knows exactly what it is. If you are in Bend and enjoy craft cocktails, bourbon, cool music, quirky atmosphere, and places with personality, go find San Simón. Half the fun is finding it tucked down the alley in the first place.

I was served by a tall male bartender who was incredibly personable--we talked quite a bit, and honestly, I'd go back just for that experience alone. That said, the drinks he crafted and the food that came out of the kitchen gave me plenty more reasons to return. I ended up ordering an impressive amount of food, and by the time I hit my fifth large course, he joked that he'd have to pinch himself if I actually finished it. I couldn't help it--everything was that good. He also pointed me toward the owner, who clearly knows exactly what he's doing in the kitchen and carries himself with confidence and intention. For reasons unrelated to restaurant quality or reputation, we'd avoided Zydeco. Recently, however,…read morealong with a couple friends, we decided to give it a shot. Verdict: Zydeco is an outstanding restaurant in virtually every way. No negatives to report. The place is popular - arriving just before opening on a weekday, there was a line to get in. Reservations are definitely a good idea here. Our early arrival in line allowed us to choose a good table in the back, where it wouldn't be too hectic. That too was a good idea as the place gets loud with conversation when it fills up. Music wasn't loud, just the people. The menu isn't huge but there are quite a few, varied choices. Given the meal was a bit of a splurge for us, I essentially ignored the prices, which are not trivial by any means. Fine dining entails spending money. Zydeco has a ton of reviews and as the menu apparently doesn't change, I'll just say everything we ordered was great. Cocktails too. The Bramble Down is exquisite. Service was top tier as well. Timely, attentive, professional without being stiff. The capstone to our experience involved the bill. We actually had a gift card from 2017 - nine years ago. While it certainly didn't cover the whole bill, or even half, it was a nice way to defray costs. Unfortunately, when the server ran the gift card, it showed no balance. Not sure why but perhaps over the years, the card had been erased by stray EMF. Despite that and given we provided the card receipt, the restaurant honored the card for the full amount anyway. Well done. Highly recommended.

A one star for me is a rare occurrence but, seriously.... Just avoid this place…read more.. To call this a tiki bar is an insult to the entire culture around Tiki. Let's just start out with the atmosphere.... This place is just covered in craft store plants and Amazon decorations. No character nothing special. Now I could've gotten past that if the drinks were OK. I didn't have super high hopes, but I was very excited to find a Tiki Bar in Bend while I was traveling for work. So I started out with just a classic Mai Tai after looking over the menu and being pretty disappointed that it's just the most basic "tiki" drinks in existence. The Mai Tai was flat out awful, and I mean AWFUL. It tasted like water mixed with lime juice. No alcohol taste in anyway, and not even a drip of Orgeat taste. It is so bad that it upset me, and it's completely clear like water. I did decide to stay cause I needed a break from the long week of work, but I just went straight to rum straight. I could've overlooked this, if there was even any slight conversation at the bar with the bartenders, but they had no interest in talking to the people that were there, three of the people at the bar were employees, and the entire time was just them talking together about how much they don't like rum or even the drinks on the menu. Wild. Past that they were talking about how they store their juices, and that they don't date label them in any way or throw them out after a certain amount of days, they just come in and taste them to see if they've gone bad. Get the f*** out of here.... A quick Google search will show you that most citrus juices start to oxidize within the hour, and orange and pineapple are not far behind... Don't even come here and give it a try, just go somewhere else.... This place should not be in business.
