A one star for me is a rare occurrence but, seriously.... Just avoid this place... To call this a tiki bar is an insult to the entire culture around Tiki. Let's just start out with the atmosphere.... This place is just covered in craft store plants and Amazon decorations. No character nothing special. Now I could've gotten past that if the drinks were OK. I didn't have super high hopes, but I was very excited to find a Tiki Bar in Bend while I was traveling for work. So I started out with just a classic Mai Tai after looking over the menu and being pretty disappointed that it's just the most basic "tiki" drinks in existence. The Mai Tai was flat out awful, and I mean AWFUL. It tasted like water mixed with lime juice. No alcohol taste in anyway, and not even a drip of Orgeat taste. It is so bad that it upset me, and it's completely clear like water. I did decide to stay cause I needed a break from the long week of work, but I just went straight to rum straight. I could've overlooked this, if there was even any slight conversation at the bar with the bartenders, but they had no interest in talking to the people that were there, three of the people at the bar were employees, and the entire time was just them talking together about how much they don't like rum or even the drinks on the menu. Wild. Past that they were talking about how they store their juices, and that they don't date label them in any way or throw them out after a certain amount of days, they just come in and taste them to see if they've gone bad. Get the f*** out of here.... A quick Google search will show you that most citrus juices start to oxidize within the hour, and orange and pineapple are not far behind... Don't even come here and give it a try, just go somewhere else.... This place should not be in business. read more

Went here a while back before a show to grab a drink and some light eats. the drinks were pricey, but ok. food was good, decorations were cheesy. Our server was nice. It is located in the Old Mill District, which makes it accessible to grabbing drinks and food before a show, or an event. Overall not amazing, but would try again. read more

This is our go-to bar when visiting Bend for concerts, since it is within easy walking distance of Hayden Homes Amphitheater. Offers quick, light, creative, and tasty bar food and of course the drinks are fantastic. We love the tiki bar ambiance and friendly staff. Tried to call and use Yelp and their website (which is incorrectly linked from Google) to make a reservation, but could not get through with either tactic. However, there was ample seating when we arrived at 5pm for a bite before our 7pm show. read more

Been to Rapa Nui Tiki before and enjoyed it - WILL NOT RETURN AND WILL DISSUADE OTHERS FROM GOING MOVING FORWARD. Showed up at 3:00 PM (when they're supposed to open), and listened to a lively conversation amongst the staff on the other side of the locked entry door. We waited until 3:07 PM and decided to call and make sure we were correct about the 3:00 PM opening time. We could hear a staff member complaining about our phone call before answering (on the other side of the door) - "ugh, why are people calling?!" We were then told they'd be opening in a minute. After hanging up, the same loud female employee mocked our phone call on the other side of the door - WE COULD HEAR YOU! Why would you ever be rude to potential patrons? Why aren't you opening on time?!?! There's no way the owner/manager would approve of this crap. Very disappointed - we were looking forward to some tiki drinks on a hot day, but had to move on and give our business to a nearby restaurant that greeted us with a 'hello' and 'welcome in' right at the door. read more

Ambiance 10/10 decor is great, not too much or tacky. Service 10/10 the staff were exceptional and welcoming. We all tried something different and each dish was wonderful. ( For the guy who said the pork was weird... it was delicious despite the naturally occurring pieces of fat. Same as it is when I make it at home.) Amazing gluten friendly menu! I found out the chef is celiac and therefore he made sure the menu was gluten free. I got to enjoy gluten free fried chicken and their coconut nice with some drinks with the family. It was so delicious I wished I lived closer so I could frequent more often. We came here before a concert and I can't be happier. The drinks and food were both excellent. We ordered the fried chicken and the kahlua pork. The fried chicken was a large bowl of deliciously fried chicken pieces with a soy ginger sesame sauce. It was delicious. The kahlua pork was also excellent. The cocktails were on point as well. The server seemed like he was a real fan of tiki cocktails and it showed. I don't come to Bend very often, but if I do return, I will be coming here for some drinks and dinner. read more

Super cute tiki bar in the Old Mill District. We visited on a Friday night- luckily parking was easy to find and we were seated right away. The bars decoration transports you to an island getaway. I loved that they had a small patio as well as indoor seating. We ordered 2 drinks that were both very good. We also ordered the friend chicken - it did take a bit for the food to be served but our server apologized for the wait. The chicken was good but had a little too much sauce making it a bit salty. The wings were good, but we did had to wait a for a while because our ticket was lost when we checked in on it. They did ended up comping the wings. The service was very nice and genuine. I made reservations 3 weeks in advance for a bachelorette party of 6. We arrived about 10 minutes late due to parking/finding the location. Once we arrived the host let us know they could no longer seat us because they gave our table away. She said, "Our reservation policy is clearly outlined when you scheduled with us online". That was a lie because I checked again, and there was nothing stated on the website. We also tried calling several times to let them know we were on our way, however the phone line would never get answered. I'm pretty sure they just overbooked themselves. They were out of an ingredient for one drink and one menu item which was a bummer, but we still enjoyed our meal so it all turned out well. Service was good, but slow...perhaps a medium sized group made them get behind. Food came out before drinks, but only by a few minutes and it wasn't that long of a wait either. Waitress was good, but we think she was the only waitress... Atmosphere is decent as long as music is on. Loud enough to help drown out others but not too much to not hear the person next to you. Bad experience tonight...and on a birthday...made reservations in advance and when we got there was told it was last call (closing early)...when told had reservations then sheepishly told by host that they forgot to look due to lack of staffing..host was then kind but bartender was obviously already wanting to go home, no welcoming greeting..host tried to make small talk but we felt a burden for the bartender ..honestly, as tiki bar hoppers the drink flavor was off as well..for the price of drinks you come for the experience and atmosphere, this killed it so we cut out after one..im sorry if the bartender was 'done' but they had two parties that stayed longer than we did and again reservations that could have been cancelled electronically or with a call if they wanted to close early - sad way to end the day and sad we wont feel comfortable coming back with other options in Bend. read more

Above Saxon Jewelers at the Old Mill mall, is "hidden" yet another hopeful restaurateur, hoping to attract customers without noticeable signage, decoration or storefront visibility. Alas, it must be mall restrictions that prevent the place from notice. Why? Every other mall storefront has an oversized, gaudy sign plastered to the wall above their door. When and if one finds Rapa Nui, and climbs the stairs (or takes the elevator), one enters another land, an exotic island paradise, filled with exotic plants, flowers, thatched roofs and island music. The menu offers a dozen or more tropical drink, from the standard tropical punch to monkey brains, and other heady concoctions. The heavy apps menu is nicely constructed. We tried the bao buns, soft steamed buns filled taco-style with chicken, carnitas and other tasty choices. We also tried the Korean riblettes, small but meaty, savory and sweet. All delicious. Gilligan's Island plays on a never ending loop from a tv screen in the corner. Generous portions, island-style glassware and leafy decor are convincing enough to transport one away for a fun evening in the South Pacific.
