    Fried Anchovies and Artichokes
    Jennifer Y.

Bar RBC is a Spanish Tapas spot that is the sister establishment to the steakhouse Rancher Butcher Chef. Upon entering, we were greeted by the host. It is dim inside with lots of wood accents, giving it a cozy vibe. There is patio seating as well as a second floor with more tables. Came here on a Saturday evening with no reservation and was told it would be a 1 hour and 20 minutes wait. We were not in a hurry, so we agreed and were added to the waitlist. While we were looking at the menu, the host mentioned that some bar seating opened up and offered us those. We appreciated that he updated us so quickly and we ended up getting seated without having to wait. Corinne and Kim greeted us when we took our seats at the bar. Corinne was kind enough to walk us through the menu and provide us with recommendations. We ended up ordering a lot of her recommendations and they did not disappoint. We ordered two El Bulli Olives, the Toro Radicchio, Fried Anchovies and Artichokes, Iberico Secretto, and Tarta de Santiago. We also ordered the Pamplemousse Spritz and Strawberry-White Peppercorn Shrub. The drinks were both refreshing. The Pamplemousse Spritz had a good grapefruit flavor that was tart, light, and slightly sweet. The N/A rose added depth to the drink. The Strawberry-White Peppercorn Shrub had a unique flavor profile with the white peppercorn. It was slightly sweet, tart, and some acid, making it well-balanced. All of the food were hits. The El Bulli Olives are a fun play on a dirty martini using spherification. They are flavor bombs that burst in your mouth and were not as bitter as I expected. The Toro Radicchio was flavorful and we enjoyed how the "croutons" were presented as larger pieces of toast with the olive tapenade spread on top versus cubes. The radicchio was blanched first which gave them a nice texture. The Fried Anchovies and Artichokes were amazing. Great fry on both the anchovies and artichokes. They were crispy and not oily. The romesco sauce underneath them was flavorful and there was enough to dip each piece into. The Iberico Secretto tasted better than it looked. The iberico was tender and the chimichurri it came with was herb-forward, but very good. It was more of a paste than a sauce, but the flavor was there. To be honest, I probably would not be able to tell that the meat is Iberico, but we enjoyed it. The Tarta de Santiago is a gluten-free almond and orange cake with whipped cream on top. I was skeptical about it as I have not had the best experiences with gluten-free desserts, but this one so good. The cake was moist and spongy, and we could taste the almond and orange. The whipped cream tasted like homemade whipped cream and it was the perfect sweetness and texture. Overall, giving Bar RBC a 5/5. Service, ambiance, food, and drinks were all great. Value is good too. It is nice that bar seating is full service. Thank you again to Corinne and Kim for their hospitality, and for the host for offering us the bar seats so quickly. Would highly recommend to others looking for a solid spot for food or drinks, and would love to visit again when we are in the area.

This place has it going on. We were sat at a killer corner table on a busy night and indulged. It's lit to perfection and the playlist is on point. Staff is crazy friendly and sophisticated. Knowledgeable about their menu, which changes seasonally. This place is fantastic. We tried everything we possibly could and got no pics of a pile of dishes, including the pork chop, potato's bravas and corn - all off the hook amazing. Didn't get a photo of my A5 waygu steak after cook either. Too busy eating it. My only advice would be to come hungrier. This place is great and we had an incredible dinner for what was an amazing experience, with the warmest and most welcoming of staff. Don't miss this spot. It's a hidden gem.

Amazing food with unique menu options. Great service staff. Cocktails were excellent. Feel good ambiance...beautiful but relaxed feeling. Indoor and patio seating available. Fried anchovies with artichokes were my absolute favorite!

One of the best steaks I've had. Perfectly salted and melt in your mouth. We had the non-aged rib eye(s) both Snake River and I forget the other one. We had the burrata and mango salad, asparagus and cauliflower. The cauliflower was the stand out of the bunch, although the burrata and mango salad was pretty spectacular. I liked the creamy barbara balanced with the nut crunch and sweetness of the mango, which was slightly under ripe but full of flavor nonetheless.

At first glance the menu here seemed limited but every dish we had was great. It is a tapas style restaurant with Spanish food. Great vibe and service. My favorite thing I got was the hamburgesa, it's a must order!! So balanced and delicious. It had manchengo cheese, Jamon, and a really yummy sauce, maybe pickles too? Cooked perfectly. This would also be a great date night spot. Would recommend!

My favorite guy took me out for our first big date post surgery, and we found Rbc Bend Spanish tapas bar. What a wonderful treat. So tasty. Dani, Hayden and Stephanie (the host) were so gracious and made tonight a perfect experience. Thank you. Forever customers you have now. #tapas #datenight #husband #GrilledOctopus #nomnomnom

Randomly found this new place on a visit to Bend during the summer. Sat outside, which was more of a lounge seating, so not the most conducive to eating but fine for drinking. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and the way the kitchen prepared what we ordered, things were done well. But be prepared that it's very very expensive. We ordered the octopus that was $27 and it was one tentacle, and the tuna tartare was $24 for what really is a snack. These are all Spanish tapas style so dishes are small, but the price are sort of entree size. Still, I did find the food tasty and service was friendly.

Everything about this place is top of the line. The staff are incredible. The food is to die for. We went for drinks and some small food plates. We got the octopus, the strawberry burrata salad, and the pork chop. I cannot stress this enough: THIS PLACE GETS IT. The flavors, the ambience, the service. RBC and Bar RBC are HANDS DOWN the best places for food and drinks in Bend right now. I am OBSESSED. Thank you RBC and Bar RBC staff for the amazing experiences every single time.

The owners closed up shop downtown and created this new place on 2nd Street in Bend's Central District. It's now called Dogwood at the Pine Shed. Why Yelp won't create a new, distinct page for the Pine Shed is beyond me. That said, the Pine Shed is a fine place for drinks and food truck fare. The open, spacious 'shed' has plenty of varied seating surrounding a nice bar with quite a few tables outside on the patio. Mobility-challenged folks have choices too. For those worried about 2nd Street's reputation for sketchiness, don't be. Revitalization efforts by the city have transformed the area. At times of good weather, with the big doors open, the Pine Shed is quite a nice spot to relax. Cocktails were the raison d'etre for the former incarnation of Dogwood and that emphasis transfers here to the Pine Shed. I particularly like their versions of a margarita but the other cocktails are uniformly good too. The beer tap offerings are not so spectacular, however, with only four (and a cider). On one visit shortly after they opened for business, two beer taps were tapped out, which can be chalked up to growing pains. In any case, the Pine Shed can't be seriously regarded as a tap house in the style of the many others in Bend (On Tap, River's Place, Crosscut, The Lot, The Podski, Midtown Yacht Club, etc.). Come for the cocktails. They do offer low ABV and zero ABV drinks. At present, the food truck choices are abundant and pretty decent. Being trucks/carts, and thus mobile and prone to relocating themselves, I'll not list them here. Best to check the Pine Shed's webpage for current offerings and then go to the relevant Yelp page for reviews. Parking is street only, no parking lot. The city has completed construction on 2nd Street so there are more spots available than before.

The menu isn't very large and I think we both settled on choices quickly, deciding to try the most "quintessential" entrees to share. I chose the Blackened Redfish, and my boyfriend the Jambalaya. Even though we had already decided, the waitress went on her whole spiel through the menu highlights, including what we had already had planned to order. Awkward, but it was fine, and we didn't stray from our original choices. The Blackened Redfish was perfectly cooked and flaky. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes with a slightly tangy sauce. All of it was tasty, but I was a bit disappointed in the lack of spice to the blackening seasoning and the sauce. Also, serving it on grits instead of mashed potatoes would have made it feel 100% more Cajun, even with lack of seasoning. The Jambalaya fared a bit better, although my boyfriend was also left puzzled by the lack of spice to this classic dish. In all ways it was a very good representation of New Orleans style red jambalaya, with the andouille sausage being particularly notable for flavor. The cornbread it came with was pretty good. We shared a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. A very decadent concoction of chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel. It was one of the better $12 slices of cake I've had. Overall? The service was good, if not a bit awkward with the menu spiel. The food was all very well prepared, but for a Cajun style restaurant they sure could stand to spice things up a bit. It's not cheap, but at least the entrees are a full sized meal and you don't have to order many "tiny plates" to cobble together a dinner.

The red-headed bartender/server tried to walk away after taking our drink order and had to stop him from walking away to order food. There were no check-ins at the table, a hostess walked around once filling everyone's water but that was it (so we had empty water for about half the time we were there), I had to flag down the bartender by staring at him from across the bar to get his attention for a check, once I got the check he again tried to immediately walk off even though I had the card & wallet on the table and nearly immediately put it in the book, and in general he was not amiable. I actually asked my friend after the first interaction of 'do you think he's having a bad day or hates it here?'. Lastly, the oysters are listed as 'oysters' with no description but they are not normal oysters - they have green vinaigrette, some roe type orange topping, and personally weren't enjoyable. 2.5 for service and not listing ingredients. 3 because the brussel sprouts and drinks.
