Divey-est dive bar in downtown Bend? I dunno, but it's gotta be pretty close. Have only wandered in here a couple times, and every time has been a treat. Cheap, strong drinks from a full bar slung by hardened pros, a sorta scruffy clientele, video poker, dim lighting and absolutely atrocious bathrooms make this place a standout on the dive bar barometer (dudes: you got a trough to piss in and a condom machine to check out afterward. FYI). The food is average-to-okay, burgers and sandos and fried stuff, in good portions. BUT: the booths are comfy, and the service (yes there is table service) is far above what you'd expect in this class, plus the vibe is super warm and welcoming. So, 4 stars - graded on a scale. read more

We had been given a recommendation to try the Bloody Mary here, by a friend from Portland, and also by someone on our flight to Bend. We did, and it was great! We had two. The drinks were delicious, and bartenders were fun and friendly. We felt very welcome. Bend has such a great vibe. Can't wait to come back. read more

Just a gem of a dive, one of my favorite in the country, whenever I'm in town, I absolutely have to stop here. Relatively cheap, great pub food, phenomenal breakfast. Any dive that has Xmas lights on the ceiling year around is a place you need to check out. read more

Oh.my.gosh! This place has amazing breakfast! Met our friends here for breakfast. Ordered the D&D scramble with sausage links and gravy on the side. I'm not much of a gravy girl but I got a biscuit with a side of grace (came with my meal). Hubby got the large California. Benedict. Keys just say he helped me with my meal! Portions were huge! The biscuit came out piping hot and still steaming. The sausage gravy was legit. So much so, my husband ate all of it and I had to asked for more! No problem! This is a drinkin' bar, for folks who like drinkin'. You know, the "drunk at 3pm on a Saturday" kind of folk. Sadly, there are no Dungeons OR Dragons here, but there's plenty of Fireball, and drink pours are strong enough to put any Dwarf under the table, and for copper coins instead of gold. The wait staff were friendly and efficient, although I would say that, like many stores we encountered in Bend, their enforcement of mask-wearing and social distancing is kind of loosey-goosey. Add to that a bunch of already wasted out-of-towners, and you have the makings of a recipe for a Covid Cocktail. I will say that my wife loves this place, but I can't get over how rude and dismissive the staff are if you aren't one of their "select regulars." To top it off the place is pretty gross and not very clean. I just had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life and they lost my business. read more

There is one bartender to be aware of, more than one occurrence with, needs to find a class on manners, also watch for the double charging, went in, bought a drink, paid cash, left a cash tip, went and did some gaming, came back, ordered another drink with lunch, time to even up, they tried to charge me for two drinks plus my dinner, when I countered the bar about the bill, they quickly responded, oh, let me check. They reduced the bill to one drink plus my dinner, would not have posted, but this is the third time this has happened in a row. There is one bar tender that is rude. Each time I have seen this person, they are loud and very rude. To the staff at D&D , if you want a challenge, let's run the tape. The video will tell the truth. I would like to rate this establishment with 0 stars. I went here tonight with my friends and ordered a fair amount of food but unfortunately was treated very rudely by the bartender. This individual clearly had a preconceived agenda against not only myself but but my friends as well. If you appreciate being discriminated against for whatever their treason is come to this bar. They do have very good drinks and food. Service deserves a zero. read more

In a town known for brewpubs, it's sometimes not readily apparent that there are quite a few other drinking establishments, such as dive bars. D&D is one such, and I use the term dive bar in the best way. Apparently it's fairly old as Bend bars go and it looks it with a decidedly dated character: dark, booths with failing bench cushions, menu limited to basic bar food. Except for the crappy booth seats (we sit at the bar anyway whenever possible), it's just fine with me. My vegetarian wife, however, would like a few more food choices. She managed with a baked potato and theft of a good portion of my tots. That's not really going to be enough to draw her back. Local craft beer on tap. Service is good. No loud music. ** Three visits for breakfast in two months. You might get a cheap breakfast but how long will you wait for service, and what will the servers attitude be when they get to you? First visit, clean and prompt with average food cheaply priced. Next two visits were an insult in multiple ways. The average food was served with an "I don't care" attitude - both times after long waits at the table hoping to be acknowledged by the server. It's a crummy experience from my visits there. And geez what a rough start to a fresh brand new day. No thanks. If I need a bad start to my day all I need to do is call my "ex." Your mileage may vary. But I promise it'll only be cheap before 8am...and you do better to make yourself some bacon and eggs at home ;) read more

I had a shit experience tonight, I have generally liked the place (it's a dive bar and sometimes that is fun). The fry cook walks up to where I am seated at the bar " whaddya want?" I have never had that Bohdizafha, can I get one of those? His response was " how many drinks have you had so far?" I was totally stunned and didn't even know what to say ( I had just come from a comedy show at craft and drank all of 2 mediocre beers over the period of 2 hrs). Apparently they aren't doing "fryers" whatever that means? I innocently asked if they are doing French fries and they shouted "no fryers". Apparently I am supposed to know that no fryers means no French fries? What about anything else? "No flyers" condescending staff telling everyone that "fryers are out" tells us nothing. Went in last week with two others around 1pm and was ignored by all staff. Its not like they were busy. Waitress couldn't be bothered, bartender focused on bar, kitchen staff playing on phones. After 10 minutes of no help, we left and went elsewhere. Apparently they don't care here. Go to Corey's across the street or to BBC. read more

Kelly our bartender was amazing. The night time cook Newman delivered our fried food to me in the middle of the night with a smile and some good slap stick humor. This place is a dive bar, my favorite atmosphere. Every other customer was amazing including the great guy who gave up his bar seat so 2 of us could sit at the bar.
