Despite for my lunch today I still will give this place five stars. The chicken sandwiches are the absolute best. I have had the big bird a few times. The chicken is always juicy and the fattening fried part the best. Their sauce, I've never had anything like it. The sweet tanginess is something new. The fries are thin and crunchy without your fingers being greasy. Mastered. With that said I think it's important to share my review with the establishment. I do not want this amazing little takeout to go anywhere. And how can they fix something if they don't know. Today. My chicken sandwich/the big bird had so much mustard on it. It was overpowering. Dripping. It's all I could taste. Makes my mouth water thinking of it. I could not taste the cabbage. Actually had to check the sandwich, thinking they must have forgotten it. Nope, just drowning in the mustard. The chicken had a few bites of fat. Makes me shiver. To me there is nothing grosser than chicken fat. Can ruin a dish. The French fries. Sinfully wrong. Mastered. The sweet seasoning they use, down to cooking them to perfection. Gold. Crunchy. And never greasy. So good. However, today they tasted more salty than sweet and tangy. So much salt. Was not good. Everything I've had there has been the best. A sweet experience. Not your typical chicken. However. Despite not having the best meal today I'll continue giving them a five star. I've been there to know today was an off day. Between the mustard and all the salt todays meal was not a treat. This is a worthy place. One of my favorites. read more

I went to the Crux Fermentation as it had a large outdoor seating area that was perfect for dogs. Stopping by, it was filled with people and pups, so basically my idea of a great time. There's two small parking lots and tons of street parking, so that wasn't a concern. The Tin Pig is current one of two food trucks outside and I'm a sucker for chicken strips and fries, so I had to indulge. A good portion of food for the price and the flavor was amazing! The chicken was still moist and not dried out but had a good crust to it. Not super flaky, but still crunchy for a chicken strip. I got the original, but there are a ton of different chicken flavor options. The fries were seasoned with this Cajun-like rub that was delicious. Served with a side of ranch and fry sauce, I highly recommend this place. Will definitely be back and try out other items in the menu next time I'm in Bend! read more

Delicious, huge, flavorful sandos and burgers. Honestly, an easy 5 stars... with one MAJOR fix. Their fries are absolute trash. It's the sweet seasoning that ruins it all. Aside from that they were cooked perfectly and crispy shoestrings. But that damn sweet seasoning needs to go. Maybe listing the "seasoning" ingredients on the menu would've been helpful. Had we known we would've simply said leave them plain, eaten them all happily and given 5 stars. Sadly 3 baskets of fries were buried in the trash... along with their seasoning. As this was my first visit, I decided to go with the Classic with some fries. The Classic is fried chicken with pickles and mayo. The sandwich was just ok. The breading was light and well-seasoned, but the chicken itself was pretty bland and dry. I do appreciate they use chicken breast as opposed to chicken thighs. This is one of the few instances where I prefer breast to thigh meat. Thighs don't make for a great sandwich, but if you're using breast fillets, they definitely need to be brined to keep from drying out. The bun was nice and had a great texture. The fries were pretty good and fry sauce pretty tasty. I'm guessing the other sandwiches with various sauces would be better, but I still think the Classic should be able to stand on its own. read more

Food truck permanently parked on the Crux yard. Great menu, as we'd been travelling we were good with chicken strips tonight. Flavours were amazing. Wife got the Sonoran and it was all the Mexican flavors you'd expect on a strip - really nice. I got the Nashville - it's spicy. More of a rub vice sauce so a little dry but the flavour and spice were amazing. They ensure the fry's get hit with the same rubs so flavours all blend. Definitely try this truck out if you're drinking beer at Crux. read more

Went to the tin pig to pick up lunch for myself and boyfriend today. I had been there before and I love their chicken sandwich with the pimento cheese and honey. It's heaven. But I had never had a burger from them but my boyfriend doesn't eat chicken and loves burgers so that's what I ordered him. And I ordered fries for us. Which I think their fries are great. Their seasoning is a nice change. Now their chicken sandwich is the best in Bend but my boyfriend says their hamburgers are fantastic too! absolutely amazing food from tip to toe. Just amazing perfect fries, perfect chicken and sauce. I could order by the 5 gallon bucket. It's nestled in a very busy fun area and a great alternative. To the more standard food that you might get at a place that serves beverages when grabbed a flight of cider and on the way back to the hotel I grabbed dinner here I could imagine eating her every day and never growing old of it but that's way perfect. Sometimes you don't have as much to say when things are so simple that you don't understand how every place isn't doing it right. A quick sauce, shoe string fries, chicken breaded and fried... it really does seem like it should be just that simple but rarely it is. We decided to get a chicken sandwich and some fried green tomatoes. I was so excited to see that they had the fried green tomatoes! While they were good, they maybe need a little seasoning and maybe a little more crisped up. I will say moving everything in the basket with them makes them a lot better then just on their own. Let me start with we probably should have tried the chicken sandwiches. The women sitting next to us each had them & they looked amazing, as most reviewers have noted. Next time. We had hush puppies & Nashville Hot tacos with fries. I enjoyed the hush puppies, especially the chunks of corn & spicy honey. They were good dipped in the fry sauce. I could barely eat the tacos. They were soooo spicy I couldn't eat them. My husband was disappointed in the amount of chicken inside the breading, but liked the spicyness. Is spicyness a word? The fries that same with the tacos were fresh & quite yummy. Turns out there is sugar on them. We've been avoiding added sugar this year so, no wonder they tasted so good to us. We had returned for Big Ski perogies from the truck next to this one & those were soooo good, yet again. We will try the Tin Pig again, I think we just picked the wrong main course this time. Voted best food cart of 2021, a reminder that I needed to try them. I go to the Podski fairly frequently, but never get past Earl-n-Mabel who I love! Here's the deal today, Mother's Day around noon. One guy in front of me, no one behind me. It's my turn. I say "it's my first time here, should I get the Rogue Style or the Sonoran?" The guy at the window wearing the blue bandana as his quasi face mask says "sorry, can't help you". Crickets, beginning of a Mexican stand-off, I look at the menu again at the two options I was considering (secretly waiting for him to expand on my prospective choices) and finally said "ok" and walked away. Went to Thailandia, got the red curry soup and called it a victory. When I got home and reported my experience, my partner reminded me that we had eaten at Tin Pig maybe 1.5 years ago and we both thought it was delish! 5 stars for the food I don't remember, but was told I loved and the fact that they were voted best food cart. 1 star for the toad manning the stand. This is one of my favorite places for lunch in Bend. I eat here at least twice a week and I've never had a bad meal. You can't go wrong with the Sonoran chicken basket - something Jack created for me after the chicken chicharrones were taken off the menu. You get a base of some of the best french fries on the planet topped with hand breaded chicken tenders covered with green chili sauce, fresh pico de gallo, and cotija cheese. Chicken strips are a favorite of mine, and these ones are always cooked to perfection. If you love spicy things, then definitely try the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. This is a SPICY chicken sandwich, so if you think you can't take the heat order the sauce on the side. It's a giant piece of hand breaded chicken breast fried to perfection, doused in an insanely delicious hot sauce, and held together by the best bun in town - Big Ed's. Don't forget to try the fresh pork rinds. They fry them up fresh for your order, so they come out crackling and popping with a dusting of their famous seasoning. The crew at Tin Pig are great. If something isn't right with an order let them know - they always make it right! If they were open Monday and Tuesdays at lunch, I'd probably eat there everyday. Keep up the great work! read more

Visited with the family after our whitewater rafting guide recommended it to us. Hubby ordered The Big Bird. He was kind enough to give me a bite. YUMmmm!!!!!
