I got a lettuce wrapped cheeseburger, fries with fry sauce, and a marionberry/banana shake. The lettuce for the lettuce wrap has a strong flavor and they use a ton of it which took away from the flavor of the burger. The raw onions are copious and intense as well. I'll skip the burger next time. My kids can eat gluten and loved their normal bunned burgers though. The fries are really good, the fry sauce wasn't my favorite so I used ketchup. I am shocked that Sno Cap is only rated 3 1/2 stars. It was tremendous. We come to Bend from Hillsboro at least twice a year, and we make it a ritual to stop in Sisters for lunch. After having many experiences at other locations, our daughter brought up Sno Cap. We have driven by it often and see many people stopping for their treat. My vegetarian wife had the grilled cheese sandwich, while our daughter and I had the Cheeseburgers. So good, but looking at the receipt, our daugher ordered and was charged for a bacon cheesebuger. She received a double cheeseburger and no bacon?? We all enjoyed milk shakes and french fries as well. They were busy the entire visit, but doesn't allow inside seating in the summer. When in Sisters...you need to stop at this landmark. I love the old school signage... You walk up to the window and order (no inside seating..only some outside tables. The teenagers working were sooo sweet and really worked hard to keep things moving. There is usually a line but it moves quickly. We were hanging out in Sisters for the day and stopped by Sno Cap for some ice cream. We parked down the street and there was decent parking for a weekday morning. Thankfully we weren't there the day of the quilt show or else we would have had no parking. They have a menu with food too but we were just there for the ice cream. We ordered cotton candy, bubble gum, cascade blackberry, mocha nut fudge, and Kona coffee. The cascade blackberry I couldn't really tell what the berry was possibly due to the bite I had. It was nice and creamy though. The Kona coffee I would have liked more of a coffee flavor. The cotton candy was nice and sugary and popular with the kids. My favorite was the bubble gum because it had actual bubblegum pieces in it. Such a great find since the only place I have been able to find that is Baskin Robbin's. The only thing I would say with kids is that their 2 scoops in cup come on top of each other so if you are sharing you really have to eat a lot of the top to get to the bottom since they pack a lot in one cup. Service was not immediate but there was a few orders ahead of us so it makes sense they go by orders. There is a sign out front that eludes to slower service if this was the amount of people that show up to be patient with them. It's probably been better this weekend with the quilt show. Don't waste your time and money. We have been looking forward to stopping here for a couple years. We finally got to go today and we were very disappointed. The place is dirty. The walls and floor need a good cleaning. The staff was not friendly or outgoing at all. One worker was dressed in a basketball jersey. Nothing makes you hungry like looking at that guys armpit hair! YUCK. The ice cream was mediocre at best and that is giving it the benefit of the doubt. There was a pan of bacon sitting in the pass through. Who knows how long it had been there. Hear ye, hear ye, those who are far and wide! Unless ye like tourist traps, go elsewhere for ye milkshakes. (Ok, my done with the "ye's" ) This was our first time going to Sno Cap after hearing about it for years. The inside is still closed (not sure why the other reviewer said they were open. They definitely are not. There are signs everywhere saying the inside is closed.) We ordered milkshakes online and the directions said to go in the Exit door to pick up our order. I did and you should have seen their faces. They started hollering at me and told me to wait in line outside at the regular window. I apologized and said the website told us to go inside through the exit door. They were totally freaked out I was in there. So, customer service ... rude and not good. The milkshakes are extremely overpriced and they aren't ice cream. My Peach shake was made with soft serve and fake peach syrup. No peaches in it. Soft serve and syrup is not ok for the price we paid. My son's chocolate peanut butter shake was also soft serve and he didn't want to finish it because there was barely any chocolate in it. I've never seen a kid NOT finish a milkshake. My other son's mint chocolate chip shake was filled half way with regular mini chocolate chips that were just dumped in there. He drank the small amount of soft serve milkshake and then handed me the cup. The rest of the cup was just chunky mini chips which he said would be gross to eat by themselves. I agreed and threw it away. In conclusion, Because the shakes are made with soft serve, they ended up foamy towards the end of drinking. Both my boys threw theirs away 3/4 of the way done. Sno Cap was a complete waste of money and a total tourist trap. I can't believe we wasted so much mullah on those nasty shakes. We will not be back! read more
