I have been wanting to try this place for a while, but we are not generally in the area over brunch. First the service - the staff were all really friendly and responsive. I was never short on coffee! Second, the food! I usually get French toast riven the option, but the server recommend the chicken and waffles and it was so yummy! Zero regrets. I'm not sure how you could give this place above a 2 star review. The food was low quality and tasted like it was sitting under a warming lamp. Yes it has a "homie" feeling but like a rundown 1970's home that just has been neglected. The service was the best thing and they seem to try to compensate for all the short comings of the food with humor and caring, but ultimately you go to a restaurant for the food. The burger was gray and lukewarm. The fries were bordering on cold. The tomato soup was more like a warmish bowl of salsa. The grilled cheese was probably grilled at some point, but the cheese was that plastic looking when you pull the bread apart... cold and reformed up after probably melting in a microwave. The chicken fried steak had a brown gravy that looked horribly unappetizing. The salad was about the only thing that seemed ok, but then you taste the dressing... Fairly expensive for what we got - $65 before tip. The burrito was very bland and it had both sausage and bacon on it. I would definitely not suggest this, hence 3 stars overall. The kids grilled cheese was fried cheese side down so my kiddo wouldn't eat it since the texture was so off for him and he will typically eat anything (my husband and I thought it was good though). The kids pancake was cute and my daughter loved it. Service was good. Fast drink refills and food came out quickly. Ambiance is cute. A very nice experience this morning having breakfast at Spoons. While traveling through Sisters, we gave Spoons a shot and both of us ordered simple dishes. When my food arrived, it was the wrong dish. The server (maybe the own?) was going to throw the food away and have the kitchen remake my order. Not wanting to waste, I took the food. It was VERY good! (French Toast plate). What impressed us both was the service. I would give Spoons 5 stars regardless of the mishap. The servers that we encountered care about their food and their customers. Way to go, Spoons! read more

Go see Mike at Spoons in Sisters Oregon. He is a gem and the food was outstanding. The broasted chicken was a real highlight, cooked to perfection. We had a sampling of breakfast and lunch items and everything was delicious and prepared to a high standard, given its modest interior. Kudos to the kitchen staff because everything they were sending out to the various diners looked great as it passed by. I also love thick bread slices with breakfast and their marble rye did not disappoint. Their bakery looked amazing, and I wish I had gotten something to go. I loved the local art for sale on some of the walls. I will definitely be back the next time I am in the area, mostly for the food, but also for the amazing staff, like Mike! read more

My favorite and go to whenever I try somewhere new is chicken fried steak. Unfortunately it was a frozen nothing special steak. Hoping for fresh and unique but it was like Shari's. Rye bread was delicious and famous potatoes are interesting. Good but lacking that crunch from traditional hash browns. Service was very friendly but the wait for food was about 40 minutes and half full restaurant. My wife on the other hand loved her chicken sandwich so maybe I should of did lunch. I had a homemade chicken fried steak about 3 blocks up a couple days before that was delicious. I doubt I'll return. read more

We are trying to eat our way through Sisters OR between Labor Day and Memorial Day while there are fewer tourists. This time we picked Spoons. We parked across the street because the three parking spaces near the restaurant were occupied by two cars. When we entered there was a couple waiting to be seated. I suspect that they had been standing there for at least a minute because I did not see them entering the restaurant as we walked across the street. It was about another minute until someone came out from the back of the restaurant and seated them. We were then seated at a small table for two. I asked for black coffee. When we ordered our food, I asked for a new cup of coffee because the first cup tasted burnt. The second cup tasted ok. My wife ordered waffle with bacon and I ordered breakfast burrito with potatoes. My wife really enjoyed her waffle. Bacon was nicely done with a nice balance between crunchy and chewy. Breakfast burrito was a disappointment. It had so much potato that they over shadowed the cheese and the potatoes that came on the plate were redundant. The menu states three eggs. They must have been really small eggs. I unsuccessfully searched for bacon or sausage in the burrito. I did not try the sour cream and the salsa appeared to be from a jar. In short, this was a mixed dinning experience. We will return because there are a couple more items on the menu that I would like to try. I will update this review if needed. read more

We unfortunately had a terrible experience. We went in and ordered two breakfast entrees to-go. We were told it would be 10-15min. 30 min later we asked when it may be ready, and were told about 15 more min. So we wait, and wait, and another 15 min later they hand us our order, which only had 1 of the 2 items we ordered in it. Had to remind them that we had ordered 2 items. So we wait another 20min to get our full order. Almost an hour and a half later we are headed back to our hotel room, only to find they have given us no utensils. So we spent another 10min hunting down utensils. Mind you, it was not very busy at all! And the food turned out to be mediocre at best. We will not be returning! read more

I took my granddaughter out for breakfast this morning at Spoons and was sad to experience very mediocre food. The oatmeal was a little crispy on top and pretty boring. The waffle she had was good but nothing special at all. The atmosphere was like Dennys. The wait staff was frazzled.
