Not as good as prior times I've been. Small menu, they struggle with being adequately staffed during times of the year, but beautiful building, great service. the food has really gone down hill. Especially for the price.

Not sure I love the remodel (feels cheap, sterile and missing that traditional "lodge" feeling) but food is still good! I do like how they oriented the restaurant so that it faces sisters- gorgeous views. Our server was fantastic. The hostess was not super friendly and very frazzled as she also was bringing water and food to tables. She told us there was a ten minute wait even though more than half the restaurant was empty. There were many new menu options for breakfast. The coffee cake was outstanding - very almondy, which I liked it. I probably should have gotten something more creative than the ham and cheese omelette so that's my bad. It was standard. My husband liked his frittata OK but it wasn't really a frittata. There were no potatoes and more like an open faced omelette. Mimosa, coffee and Bloody Mary mix were solid.

We had an exquisite experience - everything was 5 star - the Private Dining room was everything we hoped for and more! Our server Paola was very attentive, patient and professional serving a very jovial and "busy" group. The bar tender Chris S made excellent cocktails and made sure everyone was happy with their drinks! He and Paola made a great team. Our food ranged from the delicious ribeyes, salmon and caulifower steaks. The desserts were fabulous too! We are from Sisters - it was a great night and we will be back. Thank you very much! Very nice ambiance. Staff was very friendly. They were also soooo slooooow. Salads: we had the mixed green salad and the caeser salad. Both were great. Entrees: Idaho rainbow trout was done well but while the orzo was good, some of the vegetables were just sort of bland. A couple of our group had the New York Strip. Both people thought the cut was tough and bland. They would not recommend. Another had the salmon and that was very good. Dessert: I had the Pastel de Elote. It was great. It was the one thing that was picture worthy. The Sourdough chocolate cake was good but not sure that it was something that could be missed. Peach cobbler was also good. Service was slow. Only occasional check in after a dish was delivered. Frankly, I would rather eat at the Lakeside Bistro, not because the Lodge is bad, I just enjoy the bistro more overall if I am going to eat here at Black Butte ranch. The meal took about 90 minutes to complete from the time we sat down. We sat with all four of us being done for over 10 minutes and drinks gone before the server came to check on us and ask about interest in dessert. They were not overly busy, but perhaps they were short staffed.

We were there for Christmas day brunch. It was overpriced $68 for fishy salmon, steamed sreak, slimy caprice salad, and no prime rib.

Since moving out of Oregon, we haven't been able to make it back as often as we'd like, but I've never forgotten that first visit -- meeting the owner, falling in love with their hot seasoning spice (which they gifted me to take home!), and becoming obsessed with the homemade chili oil. Last night (11/20/25), we finally returned, and I'm happy to say the food is still just as wonderful. The flavors were exactly as we remembered. Our favorites this time were the Shapta and the Chau Chau -- both absolutely delicious. We ordered and shared everything family-style: * Momos - handmade dumplings * Shapta - beef dish * Chau Chau - noodle dish * Masu Bhat - chicken curry Most dishes came with a small side salad and jasmine rice. The ordering process is casual and easy: place your order at the counter, grab a table, and they'll buzz you when the food is ready. The staff then brings everything right to your table. The ambience is warm, inviting, and cozy. Even though it was 32° outside, they still had a wood fire going, which made for such a pretty and welcoming touch. High Camp continues to be a gem in Sisters -- absolutely worth the visit every time.

He sweats and pushes us to order and eat fast, doing that waiter thing when they pretend they are not rushing you. "Just checking if you need that plate taken away." Not fooling anyone. Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.
