I didn't have time to grab an ocean roll in Bend (now that Sparrow Bakery is only on the west side), so I was pleased to learn that Oliver Lemon's carries them. Okay - let's just start with the one complaint everyone seems to have about Oliver Lemon's - "it is expensive." Ummm - we are in the Cascade Mountains of central Oregon with a convoluted supply chain and roadway, what are you expecting for a pricing structure?! Enough with the negatives - this is a gift of a store. You name it - they have it: gluten-free, small batch local items, craft beer, bespoken wine, and fresh organic produce. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The location is convenient and easy to navigate. And best of all, they are locally owned. I'd say Oliver Lemon's ticks most all the boxes! read more

Very nice local store that has just about everything you need. They had a large selection of wines, and cheeses. If you're looking for the big box store brands--you won't find it here. They carry a few known brands of select grocer items, but the majority was specialty type brands that I've come to appreciate when you're looking for something unique for appetizers for a special get together. I thought the prices were much higher than a recognized brand store, but they had what I needed and was looking for. The store is very small -so as you go towards the back of the store it gets very congested because the aisles are very close together. You literally have to turn sideways if someone is shopping in the same aisle. This is not a store that you'd do your major grocery shopping. Variety for major brands and is few and the prices are high. read more

Such a great made-to-order sandwich deli! Stumbled upon the store as we were driving through Sisters. The deli is in the back of the shop, and uses the local produce sold at the store to make the perfect road-trip sandwich stop. They even accounted for the fact that gluten free bread is smaller, and gave us two small gluten free sandwiches to make one normal sized sandwich, which most places don't usually do. Big shoutout for that. The store is also so cute, and was fun to walk around as the staff made our sandwiches. SO many tasty baked goods, and they even had a microwave for customer to heat their food in if needed! Such a great little store, we will definitely be back on our next trip to central Oregon! read more

If you are accustomed to shopping at the flagship location, Newport Market in Bend, this place will fall short. The grocery further west on highway 20 has the same quality of produce at a bit more affordable price with a broader selection of goods. I wasn't impressed. Here is a heads up if you are in Sister's Oregon. Go shop at Melvin's Fir Street Market for great selection of top quality products and a darned delightful experience! Located in the space downtown once occupied by the old Post Office and owned by Melvin and Sandee Herburger who used to own Sisters Harvest Basket which closed in 2006. If you liked the little Harvest Basket, you will love Melvin's Fir Street Market. Bright , well organized and welcoming in layout, the aroma of the store is wonderful too. You now what I mean. The great fresh food smell that groceries should have. Helped along, I imagine, by the pannini grilling at Cork Cellars which is now located inside Fir Street Market. But that's a different, separate review. And since Cork is located inside the store, you'll find a great assortment of reasonably priced bottles of wine here too. Nice selection in Melvin's Fir Street Market of all things of top quality from bins of items like lentils, nuts grains, to package goods standards like peanut butter, crackers, pastas, cereals, soups and dairy.. They even have a fresh fish list on a blackboard over the check out counter for three or four uber fresh fish varieties driven over to them from the coast by a vendor. You'll find a lot of local products at Fir Street Market, like Rainshadow Organics produce, Cada Dia cheese ,fresh free range eggs and artisan bread delivered daily by Bend's Village Baker to name just a few. Small but good produce selection at very fair prices. This time of year they had three varieties of fresh Oregon berries to choose. Small deli case section in the back for their homemade deli items. Yummy house baked goodies at the check out counter include wicked good oat bars. Have one of those with a cup hot Sisters coffee from the pump pot near the deli section and call it a great breakfast, like we did on our second trip in! Fully, universally accessible (called ADA compliant in the old days) including accessible parking in an associated lot, level in entry, wide enough access aisles and an accessible loo too at the back of the store. If we lived in Sisters we would shop here all the time. It is a perfect little market. We think Yeeps and other Peeps visiting Sisters will love it too. read more

Deciding to buy a house here in Sisters was made easier for me once I went into Oliver Lemon's! Being plant based I really do need a store like this. They have a lot of vegan products including cheese, dips (like Bitchin sauce!), vegenaise, plant-based milk and yogurt, and really great fruits and vegetables. The staff are always friendly and even though it can be crowded (especially weird now with COVID), I love coming here and picking up super nutritious and local foods. They even sell sisters bakery bread and have a great craft beer selection. Feedback for the store: please stock some local hard seltzers! 'Seek out' is my favorite! :) read more

We miss you already!! What a wonderful store with wonderful selection, food, service and ambiance! We came four times during our three day stay and had the best sandwiches for our hikes (they use Sisters Bakery bread which is not to be missed-the whole grain bread is like crack). Great variety and prices are competitive with any other thoughtfully sourced and supplied high end grocery store (though I'm not sure many others can compete). Also can't beat their selection of chocolate bars and baked goods at the front of the store with things like mini Bumbleberry pies (blue black raspberry and rhubarb) and other enticing combinations. Ok, so if you want to order a sandwich, you need to head to the back of the market where they have the soup and premade salads case. There is a small desk on which there are stacks of sandwich order sheets. Fill out that sheet and hand it to an employee as he or she is coming from the kitchen beyond the desk. Warning, you will pay about $1 more than you think you should. But if you follow my advice, you will get a great sandwich. read more

Cool store with great grocery options. The only drawback was the clerk that gave my wife 20 questions because he didn't recognize her. She was wearing a mask yadda yadda. Delta is raging and she works around it all day. Apparently, you have to be from town to peacefully buy from here, so this wingnut wanted to give her shit. Sisters only has Rays and Oliver Lemons locally for groceries. Both are pricey but with many specialty items I shop at Oliver Lemons. I especially go for the fresh sushi and poke bowls! It is convenient to downtown so it makes a good stroll. We often buy food for lunch to use as picnics at the various special events in town read more

I was amazed at the food selection! Had everything we needed including bitters for my friends upset tummy. Phenomenal cheese, crackers and dips selection. Lots of gluten and dairy free choices. A small prepped veggie tray or pack of sliced veggies would've been perfect for what I looking for but the carrot stick bag worked. Nice spot for a quick pickup of groceries and a yummy panini. They have lots of homemade deli options (broccoli salad, pre-made sandwiches and salads, fresh soups, etc). We opted for several paninis, San pellegrinos, broccoli salad, and clam chowder. they have some seating in the front right side of the market if you wanna stay and eat. You can order made-to-order paninis, wraps, and sandwiches in the back part of the market. Fill out a menu card and pass it to the cook. We picked up some fresh corn and bananas from the market side. Great option for those camping nearby and need a quick grocery pickup or want to order something hot to eat. read more

It's alright...overrated if you ask me. Picked up a few sandwiches for our hike & the roast beef sandwich was sad. It only had 1 slice of meat (roast beef, a slice of cheese on a croissant. Turkey sandwich was a tad bit better- had 2 slices of turkey and a slice of cheese. They had other items but will have to go back to check those out, but I don't know if I want to go back. read more

We were driving through Sisters on our way to waterfalls and after we stopped for gas, I realized, "Crap, I am hungry, I don't want to waste time on a sit down meal, I don't eat fast food, so what the heck to do!?!?!" Well, Yelp to the rescue... again. Melvin's Market. This is a cute little market. I was drawn in by the organic local apples. They had cheese, they had premade sandwiches which were very tasty, and things to drink. The price was a bit high I thought, 6.50 for a premade wrap or a turkey sandwich, seems a little high, but on the flip side, no waiting, no tips, eat in the car... check! Basically, they had everything I needed to feed us and we had a car picnic before heading off into the National Forest to hunt for waterfalls. read more
