My wife and I both had burgers here and were very happy. Folks in the restaurant were super friendly. I had the truffle fries and she had their seasoned fries. She had the better pick. The seasoning was very tasty. We ate on their grass patio since we had a dog with us. It was a great experience. We will eat here again on our next trip.

My friend hired Luckey's Woodsman to cater for her husband's celebration of life party. The party was outdoors, which is their favorite place to cater. The food was delicious. Everything was hot and fresh and organized for people to load their plates. The caterer/owner was right there to talk with people and move the food in the stainless trays so that people had easy access to dish up.

This place was a pretty good spot to grab lunch while traveling through Sisters. It's about 1 block off the main historic street. There's no AC inside, although they do have lots of fans going. It was empty when we happened to hit it (Friday for lunch). I ordered the Wildfire Wrap with tempeh (LOVE that they have both meat and vegetarian options for a lot of the dishes) and my partner got the Backpacker's Delight burger. My partner said it was a solid burger. Delicious berry compote and cheese made it very tasty. The Wildfire wrap was SPICYYYYY (which is what I like!). I love spicy food and saw it had a little fire sign next to it on the menu. Generally most restaurants don't actually make stuff too spicy ---- just a heads up that this one is actually fire! Has some ghost pepper cheddar, roasted jalapeños, and a habañero aioli. It KICKS. It was delicious, unexpectedly spicy in a good way, and I had to take a break halfway through to let the spice calm down. So beware if you only foray into spice a little bit! Only thing I thought was odd was that the worker that took our order needed a phone number and my name to text me when our order was ready....in a dead empty restaurant. Kind of odd. Now I need to unsubscribe from texts most likely. I also wish we could have gotten the side of fries without so much seasoning. I love my seasonings and flavors, but this was too much. I could only eat a few fries and it hurt to throw them in the bin.

The table was filled with breakfast favorites. We ordered hotcakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and huevos rancheros. A couple of morning cocktails also made an appearance, including Cottonwood's version of a Bloody Mary and a rum-infused mocha. The huevos rancheros had a bit more kick than expected, but it worked. Our server was fun and easy to chat with, which added to the relaxed feel of the morning. Nobody rushed us, and breakfast with friends is one of those things that shouldn't be rushed. Will we be back? Probably. Cottonwood Cafe feels like a place where locals and visitors can both feel at home, and it was a nice way to wrap up another great trip to Sisters. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, and everything the four of us ordered was, too. Everything was cooked well and presented attractively. I highly recommend visiting Cottonwood outside of weekend mornings when all such restaurants are at their busiest. In that way you avoid long waits and possible disappointments. But, DO GO.

Update review. We keep getting a male server who is stressed out and impatient. Makes us feel…read morerushed. Acts like he's a great waiter and like we're unworthy customers. He sweats and pushes us to order and eat fast, doing that waiter thing when they pretend they are not rushing you. "Just checking if you need that plate taken away." Not fooling anyone. Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.

The ambiance is absolutely beautiful--outdoor seating with a warm, sunny breeze, relaxing music,…read moreand plenty of flowers to admire. The vibe was peaceful and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Service was attentive, though a bit on the slower side, we waited almost an hour for the main course. They do have a kitchen break between 3:30-4:30 PM, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit during peak hours. The food was fresh, flavorful, and creatively presented--it's clear the chef enjoys experimenting with unique flavor combinations. My husband tried the seafood lasagna, which was a tasty and satisfying treat. The scallops dish was also delicious, though slightly too salty for my taste and quite light--it came with a small amount of polenta and a vegetable purée, so I found myself a bit hungry afterward. Many people around us were ordering pasta, and it looked fantastic--definitely something I'd love to try next time. Overall, a beautiful place with great food and a memorable atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Any time we stay in Sisters, Sisters Coffee is the only way we start the day…read more It gets busy, especially on holiday weekends, but that's part of the experience. During Memorial Day weekend, the line was often out the door, yet it moved surprisingly fast. Even with the crowds, we usually had our drinks in hand within about 10 minutes. The Bourbon Caramel Latte has become a favorite, but honestly, we come here for more than the coffee. It's one of those places where you want to slow down for a bit. We'll grab a couple of drinks, find a place to sit, and spend an hour people-watching, reading, catching up on the news, or just enjoying the morning. The building itself adds to the experience. It feels like a classic mountain lodge, and there's always a steady mix of locals, tourists, hikers, cyclists, and dog owners passing through. Even when we're traveling with friends, Sisters Coffee becomes the mandatory first stop of the day. Will we be back? Of course. In fact, I think it's time I finally signed up for a coffee subscription so I can enjoy a little bit of Sisters when I'm back home.
