No buddy, this is for me

I was in Sisters a couple of weekends ago and I need to share the love about this incredible ice cream shop. First of all, love all the flavour options. I was a little overwhelmed with all the potential goodness but eventually settled on the pistachio ice cream. Incredibly delicious! Had a wonderful experience here and they are a must visit on a hot Sisters afternoon for sure.

We're pretty fortunate to live somewhere that even The laziest of ice cream stores can settle on Umpqua or a Tillamook. However I always have mad respect for anyone who makes their own. I got the Oregon Trail. I feel like hazelnuts are an underused ingredient elsewhere. Big chunks of em with the blackberry swirl in chocolate ice cream. I'm in love. The boy got the blue moon. Tastes like fruit loops. He wanted "blue ice cream" so that's what we got. The wife got the marionberry. All of them were rich creamy and flavorful. Well done!

Great little place. Huge selection of different flavors! Can't go wrong with Coffee Caramel Cookie as a nice mid-afternoon pick-me up.

    Sooooo.... good!

Wow! This ice cream!! Definitely worth the trip to Sisters. We ordered 2 salted caramel, cookies and cream, and marion berry ice cream. All flavors are made by the company. They offer quite the selection of flavors, it was difficult to settle on just one, and a variety of ways to prepare and enjoy the ice cream. The staff was pleasant and accommodating, the dining area clean and tidy, and the service was quick - there was no wait at 7:00 PM on a Thursday summer night.

A family favorite for dessert in Sisters, quirks and all. There are no shortage of places to get dessert in town. The classic Sno Cap for soft serve, the newcomer, Cuppa Yo, for frozen yogurt and Ali's, the other choice for ice cream, across the street. BJ's has been in Sisters for a few years, but it feels like longer since the signage references their first location in Florence that opened in 1978. They have a great selection of Oregon-influenced flavors like the Oregon Trail (my personal favorite) and Marionberry, and have generous scoops. It is old-fashioned ice cream, made with no chemicals and no colors. On the downside, they tend to feel understaffed and so the wait can be longer than I'd like. But, there is plenty to see while you wait. They always have a bunch of other random items for sale in the store from herbal teas to Red Bull infused drinks, accompanied by funny signs. I personally wish they had more indoor seating and continued the old school ice cream parlor theme throughout the space. I'm always amused by the amount of blinged out accessories for sale, but never see anyone shopping in that area. Great location in the center of town and good old school ice cream. All the rest is a distraction.

    Amazing Ice Cream...

Great ice cream, tons of flavors with indoor and outdoor seating. Try the Black Licorice.

Wasn't a huge fan of the ice cream, but the chocolates were delicious! Fun little space for desserts in the afternoon.

Ask the Community - The SweetEasy Co.

Is BJ's open for business? Every time we drive through town (since COVID), it's been closed. Google Maps says the hours are 10-10. I don't think that's true. We love this place, so I was just wondering.

We got lucky today when we stopped there.. the owner was just closing up temporarily until covid restrictions return to indoor dining. They will reopen as SweetEasy, but the ice cream they serve will still be BJ's!

Thankfully we weren't there the day of the quilt show or else we would have had no parking. They have a menu with food too but we were just there for the ice cream. We ordered cotton candy, bubble gum, cascade blackberry, mocha nut fudge, and Kona coffee. The cascade blackberry I couldn't really tell what the berry was possibly due to the bite I had. It was nice and creamy though. The Kona coffee I would have liked more of a coffee flavor. The cotton candy was nice and sugary and popular with the kids. My favorite was the bubble gum because it had actual bubblegum pieces in it. Such a great find since the only place I have been able to find that is Baskin Robbin's. The only thing I would say with kids is that their 2 scoops in cup come on top of each other so if you are sharing you really have to eat a lot of the top to get to the bottom since they pack a lot in one cup. Service was not immediate but there was a few orders ahead of us so it makes sense they go by orders. There is a sign out front that eludes to slower service if this was the amount of people that show up to be patient with them. It's probably been better this weekend with the quilt show. I was happy with this stop for ice cream. There were lots of tables in the shade and within walking distance for the rest of the town.

He sweats and pushes us to order and eat fast, doing that waiter thing when they pretend they are not rushing you. "Just checking if you need that plate taken away." Not fooling anyone. Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.

The vibe was peaceful and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Service was attentive, though a bit on the slower side, we waited almost an hour for the main course. They do have a kitchen break between 3:30-4:30 PM, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit during peak hours. The food was fresh, flavorful, and creatively presented--it's clear the chef enjoys experimenting with unique flavor combinations. My husband tried the seafood lasagna, which was a tasty and satisfying treat. The scallops dish was also delicious, though slightly too salty for my taste and quite light--it came with a small amount of polenta and a vegetable purée, so I found myself a bit hungry afterward. Many people around us were ordering pasta, and it looked fantastic--definitely something I'd love to try next time. Overall, a beautiful place with great food and a memorable atmosphere. Highly recommend!

During Memorial Day weekend, the line was often out the door, yet it moved surprisingly fast. Even with the crowds, we usually had our drinks in hand within about 10 minutes. The perimeter crust was cooked perfectly (as you can see in most of the pics) and the toppings were plentiful. As my wife and I bit into our first slice, we both agreed it was really good. My half was basically the sausage and pepper pizza with Calabrian chiles added. I also opted for sausage only. The flavors went so well together and the icing on top was the fresh oregano! I also really enjoyed the texture of the sausage. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars (but wish I could give it 4.5 stars) was that the majority of the bottom of the crust was coated in oil. I don't mind the flavor of the oil, it just made the pizza floppy, challenging to eat the 1st half of each slice, and a mess. I'm hoping a subsequent visit will yield different results. That being said, I'm looking forward to returning. We're kind of a one-trick pony when it comes to dining in Sisters, but this place is going in the mix!
