This is an update since my last review I gave the Lodge restaurant another chance over the holidays I was so pleased with the quality of food and the choices on the menu and the presentation . That we ended up going back three more times during the holiday.. whomever is in charge now is doing an excellent job on maintaining a higher quality of food that equals what the Sunriver Lodge should offer. I am so happy about the level of this culinary experience now I hope it continues. Servers were very friendly one out of the four servers we had was exceptional. He knew exactly how to be a waiter and he was tipped accordingly. I've already made new reservations. I am hoping that the experience we had over the holidays continues.! The views from this restaurant on a clear day are quite beautiful, but I found on a cloudy day with the Christmas lights, sparkling that I was enjoying the atmosphere just as much as a Mountain View . read more

Went there for a wine event. Stayed at the Sunriver Lodge and decided to dine at the Lodge Restaurant. The decor was nicely done with natural wood. The staff was very prompt and courteous. Dani, our server and was very attentive and sweet. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Large portions and seasoned just right. We liked it so much we went back the next day for brunch before leaving for home. Delicious. read more

Loved this dinner experience we had at Sun River resort. If you're picking a nice sitdown dinner on the resort, I would recommend this over the Lakehouse by far in terms of the food. The views of the mountains and golf range were a beautiful backdrop to dinner. Our server was super sweet. Our kids ordered off the kids menu and they got an impressively well sized cheeseburger and the other one got the grilled chicken . We shared a refreshing beet salad along with the salmon succotash. I appreciated that they split plates for both of those without us asking, and the portion sized was also very generous. The salmon succotash was amazing with a huge tender cut of grilled salmon on top of a addictively creamy, minced succotash dish. Wine and beer options were both good as well read more

Long day out and about on a retreat weekend with my friend, got back to the resort and needed a bigger meal. Bolognese ordered for her and I got the angel hair pasta with crab, honestly the name of the actual dish escapes me, but it was incredible. Hers was nice and hearty and mine was light and fresh with a divine chili sauce edition. We also ordered a half order of the bread appetizer with whipped honey butter, and have zero regrets for the amount of carbs we ingested. The serving staff was very accommodating and though it was busy, we were able to hold conversation without interruption and utilized the binoculars to get a close-up of elk in the field. It's a beautiful place to enjoy a fancier meal. read more

Interior is elegant-feeling but also still chill and comfortable. Service is good, shout-out to Heather our waitress who was so kind, fun, and helpful! Staying nearby at Caldera Springs we chose this for our last night out before heading back to Kona. We made a reservation online and our hostess very kindly gave us a nice booth with a view at sunset. The binoculars on the shelf were a nice touch but it was too dark to take advantage of them. Our server Conner was excellent, friendly and we enjoyed talking with him as he'd grown up in the area and it wasn't that busy. One of the advantages of traveling in the shoulder season when things are a lot more relaxed in a resort area. We started with the beet salad which was quite good, and I had the lamb shank while my wife had the crab capellini and they were delicious. The flavor of the lamb shank with gravy was the sort of comfort food that I was seeking. Where we were staying had a weber grill and we'd had enough steaks from local Bend meat markets so this was a nice change. I can imagine it's quite busy during the winter ski season and summer rafting, but it's quiet and beautiful in Sunriver in October. We will come back here again especially with direct flights from SFO to Redmond. When we do we'll come back to this very nice restaurant. Mahalo. read more

The place was good, not great. The prices were a bit high compared to other dining options at the Village or Caldera Springs. Our food and service were good. The setting overlooking the resort grounds is nice. I think it's a better option for a date night. We dined there with my kids. They ate their weight in bread and vegetable side dishes. I would never eat here again. Spent $250 for dinner on our family of 4. Our server took our order and then was never around and never acknowledged us. We had to flag her down to try to get any service. Our dinner took about 40 mins to come out, later her telling us well it's the lamb that takes 30 mins that's holding things up, that should've been told to us upon ordering then. The sides were absolutely inedible. The only side that comes with the $75 steaks are a whole clove of garlic. The green beans for the KIDS meal is super spicy, my kid thought it was poisonous. The sides for the salmon were a lump of bitter mushy colored greens and bitter turnip latke, the sides for the lamb were some inedible bitter radicchio. The bread appetizer is cold and so incredibly hard you can barely bite it. The only decent thing was the kids meal buttered spaghetti that I could've just made myself at home. Horrible service, horrible wait time, horribly expensive, inedible sides. Never again for us. I honestly wondered if we were on that show You've Been Punked, and was waiting for the camera crew to come out. The only pleasant experience was the deserts came out quickly and were good. Maybe they just have bakers on staff. I can't imagine anyone has actually tried the entrees they are serving and felt it was a good menu. read more

Our group of five had a great dinner at Lodge Kitchen last night. It was pricey, but we expected that. From the deviled eggs to the burrata to the trout and more, we all loved every dish. The servers were attentive, and the food arrived quickly. It was a nice ambiance, not noisy at all. We appreciated the booth that fit all of us and allowed for easier conversation. Underwhelming, over-priced food, made from Cisco mid-grade supplies, with substantial mistakes in menu descriptions, food presentation, and preparation. First up, the cocktails were quite good, and not insanely expensive. The house special old fashioned and martini were quite nice. Now then. For starters, we chose the charcuterie board which was described as is typical: dried meats, fruit a selection of cheeses, and to be served with crostini. What arrived was a plate of Fred Meyer salami, a couple cubes of cheese, berries, and CRACKERS. From a box. There were strawberries out of season. And a comically sized cup of mustard sauce. I mean there was this steel ramekin with half a freaking cup of mustard. The salami was bland. But the crackers instead of crostini! I explained this to our server, who had clearly had either never read the menu or noticed. She was surprised. A revelation! After ten minutes or so she bought out a few slices of toasted fresh bread, most of which was burnt and inedible. It was dry, with no olive oil, which is the definition of crostini - bread, sliced thin, coated with olive oil and toasted over a flame. The olive oil prevents the bread from burning. Then came the highly recommended plate of "locally foraged mushrooms of four types". Which turned out to be just enokis and shitakes, and absolutely cooked to death. Completely devoid of umami or any flavor besides twinge of burnt. Also? Enokis and shitakes are not foraged in Oregon. These were foraged by Cisco farms. No identifiable butter, oil, salt or garlic was found. The serving size was huge however. We barely touched it. The $46 dollar roasted chicken was tough, overdone and flavorless, and served with an enormous pile of roasted vegetables. The $45 lasagna was the single decent decision, but it wasn't spectacular, simply passable in comparison. Our server proceeded to overcompensate for the crostini crisis for the duration of the meal, constantly interrupting our conversation, and our meal to ask, "if everything was tasting good". No, it was not. But that sort of thing typically ruins a decent night out so we nodded assent. Eventually, the shift manager came by to thank us for pointing out the crostini error on the menu. We didn't have the heart to tell her about the "locally foraged" obviously farmed Japanese mushrooms. The burnt bread, the rubberized chicken etc. Two stars, except that dinner and drinks for two ran $245. One star. Never again. read more

Enjoyable brunch experience. We came here twice during our stay at Sunriver. The food is pretty good, service is friendly and professional, but the view is the best part of the dining experience. I had the pork belly benedict on one day, which was decent. The pork belly was soft and the biscuit was flaky. The strawberries were amazingly sweet. The second day I had the yogurt parfait and thought it was even better. The granola was tasty and had a variety of seeds (not plain granola), and again the strawberries were wonderful. read more

My wife and I got a free stay in Sunriver which was very nice, upon check in we were given a card with discounts for food, bike rentals and more. We used the discounts at a couple places, then on Mother's Day we decided to go to the Lodge Kitchen for the brunch buffet. The buffet wasn't spectacular, just the usual breakfast items, French toast was thin, bacon was limp, sausages were just okay. When the check came we presented the discount card to the waitress, she stated that the card was not eligible for the Mother's Day brunch, okay no problem, BUT the crappy buffet cost us $92 an person!!! $92 a person for their crappy buffet food!!! Not everyone who stays at the Sunriver Resort is rich, we had to use a charge card because we don't have $92 to spend on any meal for two of us let alone $92 per person!! Even a rich person would agree that the buffet was crappy!! It said on the "discount card" to write a good review on Yelp. So this is my "good" review. I don't know how a chef can put out such a crappy buffet. Maybe the view of the snow covered mountain upped the price. read more

Prices were at your typical high price point for a resort... which means either top notch food or an overly priced average meal. Unfortunately, Lodge Kitchen steered towards the overly priced average meal category. Pancakes were thick and dense. The Eggs Benedict lacked luster and the hash browns were under seasoned. Surprisingly the green smoothie was refreshing and the best thing we had during this meal. When we received our food it also was "warm" as if it was on the expo line for too long. I'd go elsewhere for breakfast if you're looking to enjoy a delicious meal! If you're there for ambiance you may enjoy it. You do get to view the mountains outside the windows which is nice on the eye. read more

While most of the time I do find the positives on food review, taking into consideration of all the variables it takes make a great guest dining experience, but sometimes.... Disclosure: I have been going to this restaurant got 50 years, when I was a kid. My memories were of the golden years when this was a dress up fine dining experience and it was always amazing. Things change, I get it, and while the names have changed it is still Sunriver which brings me to my review. Location: One of the best locations, anywhere, you will not be disappointed and if you can make it near sunset, be there. Dining area: well it has changed a lot, not fancy now very casual which is now Sunriver culture. To me it could look a lot nicer considering the real estate. Menu: Pretty okay, nothing to complain about and you will find something you like for sure but read on. Food Prep: Really nicely done and the meals looked great. Food Quality: Terrible, ordered an appetizer steamed clams ($22) that were uneatable and tasted like old fish. Maybe someone should taste what they are making. Main course positives, French fries were incredible.... I ordered the Steak Frits ($36?) and it was uneatable, while it was under cooked it also had gristle all the way through the cut. Wait Staff: Hostess was amazing... Server very nice but they did not know how to deal with the situation. My concern was we did not eat the clams and my steak was not eaten. Usually they say something. When they asked how everything was I told them the truth. It seemed like there was no manager on duty or they did not want to deal with the manager. Value: Should have ordered a hamburger but when we drop over $200 + tip on a meal I do expect to able to eat it. Recommend: YES, maybe a really bad night with supply chain or labor excuses but if it is just food for stupid tourons, well this is what it seemed like on this night. VISIT Sunriver, but at this point in time do not have high dining expectations for the lodge. read more

Nice fancy but casual ambiance, Steaks were great though one was a tiny bit over cooked, and the sizes for are too big for one person but almost too small to share, which is awkward. Wedge salad was great, carpaccio great, the deviled eggs unfortunately looked better than they tasted. The side baked potato was somehow screwed up, more slimy and hard than light and fluffy. House wines were fine, the martini looked good and not too big. The service was outstanding-- thanks Jaymie! The Sunriver fine diner now has two good options: this place and the south Bend Bistro. Come here for the broader menu and resort vibe, go there for better food and the boutique bistro feel. read more

We visited here twice during our stay. The first time, for dinner and I had the Fisherman's Stew, and we ordered the scampi appetizer. Scampi was delicious! The Fisherman's Stew, the broth was thick and rich and full of flavor. The fish was hit or miss. The muscles were dull and the salmon was way too fishy (I couldn't eat it). We ended with a Blueberry Cheesecake dessert that was lack luster. I both expected and confirmed with our waitress that it was like a blueberry compote or syrup, not blueberry in the cake. Not cool. The cherry on top of dinner was that our waitress didn't seem to be into it. Fake smiles, walked away quickly every time, and we also heard her complaining to her colleagues about having to server someone else's food. It's an open kitchen... Second time...completely different! We went for breakfast and our waitress was inviting and we could tell liked what she was doing. I ordered the steak and eggs...perfection!!! I'll totally go again for the most important meal of the day! The view...breathtaking But again..the prices are exorbitant. For a place where food and service is inconsistent, your prices should reflect the service (food and staff). read more

The restaurant is located inside Sunriver Lodge. Just a few steps from my in-laws condo. Beautiful view and one of the best Crème brûlée we've had. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Love this place! The view here is absolutely breathtaking especially during sunset. They have patio dining....you can also dine by the fire pit (outside). Bring your own smores makings and enjoy live music with the family. It's a very chill atmosphere. We come here almost every year. read more

What an amazing improvement in service and food since last June (2021)! I'm sure it has a lot to do with having more staff now. We ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, which was good. The cocktail sauce was not spicy in the least bit but like I said, it was good. Fir dinner had the filet mignon and the New York strip. Both were cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes were delicious. We were both impressed with the quality and flavor of the meat given that it is not a steakhouse. I'll make this brief. Frank, our server, was very attentive and helpful. We tried the fried chicken sandwich, the smoked chicken breast, and the salmon sandwich for lunch. The food was lacking due to a sparse application of seasoning and dressings, but acceptable. The truffle frites were very good. I would recommend asking for a side of tartar for the salmon sandwich and ranch for the chicken sandwich. Overall, an expensive place to go for lunch considering the average food. read more

There's a few great places to eat in Sunriver and this is one of them. It's a bit on the pricey-side but the food, drinks and view are worth it. We've been coming here for the past several years and their service and food quality have continued to be consistently great. Their menu does change from time-to-time but they have a few that are always present (e.g. their Wagyu burger, fried chicken sandwich, etc.). This is a great place to grab a bite and/or cocktail and watch the sunset. Choose to eat indoors or out, at the bar or in the dining hall. We've always had a good experience here. One thing to note, during the busy seasons like spring and summer, make sure to make a reservation as it does fill up fast. read more

Given we were visiting around the holidays, I made reservations ahead of time for a party of 3 to ensure that we would not have a long wait. Turns out, that didn't help. Carson's American Kitchen is located in Sunriver resort. We were staying nearby and opted for a nicer dinner. We arrived on time; however, we had to wait 15-20 minutes past our reservation time. By the time were were seated, we were very hungry and placed our drink order right away. It took a while to get our drinks and we all decided to place our food order when the drinks were brought to minimize having to wait for the server to come to our table. I ordered the cheese & charcuterie board. $28.50 Selection of 3 meats and 3 cheese, the selections were of average quality and I felt like I could have gone to the local grocery store and made the same board for a fraction of the cost. Another at our table ordered the winter vegetable coconut curry ($23) and was disappointed. Another ordered a salad and ended up not eating it. I am not sure if they were understaffed and experienced too large of crowds which then caused long waits and subpar food. It was a disappointing and overpriced dinner for our group of 3. read more

If you are in Sunriver, then this is probably the best place around. The ambiance and decor is very much in tune with the location and there is a beautiful view out the windows. The service and selection were very good and I started with the crab avocado and it was very tasty, but looks pretty messy on pictures. The bread rolls are very fresh and warm. I had the pan seared rainbow trout and it was as good as it looks in pictures and I definitely recommend this selection. read more

I'll start by saying that I don't often have high hopes for hotel restaurants. I figure you're sometimes just stuck with what they offer you at high prices. Well, the prices are still high...but the food is excellent! We ended up eating at Carson's for 2 different breakfasts. The first time we decided to share a Monte Cristo. We are always concerned that by sharing, we won't get enough food, so we added 1 biscuit & gravy and a side of bacon. When the Monte Cristo rolled out with the side of tasty home fries, we realized why we decided to start sharing dishes in the first place. It was a huge portion! Thankfully, we had a fridge and microwave in the room. Everything was really great and that may have been the best biscuit & gravy I've ever had. I'm not a big sausage fan, so I was pleased to see they added another meat...I think it was bacon, but it could have been ham. Our second go, my husband had an omelette, it was just fine. I had the lox and bagel and couldn't believe the amount I was brought and the presentation. It was really good and I had leftovers too. If I ever have the chance to go back, I'd like to try some of the dinner dishes as well. read more

This place is consistently not good. We have gone back twice thinking it might get better but it never does. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table when there was 8 tables completely empty, we know it was a server issue since they only had three servers. So we get that, it's understandable. The food has just gone down hill. They are trying to be an upscale steak restaurant based on prices, but the food is not living up to it. The steak was okay but not great. We got Mac and cheese which hardly had any cheese sauce, basked potato which we found out thirty minute after we ordered that they were not available. We got mashed with topping of a baked potato. We started with a salad and had bread. Bread was cold and not tasty, salad was good. Hard to mess up a Cesar salad. Our server was friendly and was trying her best. We won't be back anymore. Wasted $130 plus tip on a mediocre at best meal. It is sad cause the ambiance is nice, and we want to love this place. read more

Solid 2. I wanted to love this place. Instead was totally disappointed. The food is average nothing spectacular. The view is beautiful although the filthy windows make it difficult to enjoy its beauty. The hostess was not very inviting and thats all I will say about her. The Waiter was absolutely horrible. Slow and not very attentive. I understand that staffing is a challenge although this person should find something else that does not require customer service. With that said we had better service from other wait staff that saw we were being neglected. My opinion is you are better off at any of the other restaurants on the premises. Very average. Billed as the best restaurant at the resort but the Owl's Nest is far better (we ate there the night before). The seafood stew was terrible, with 3 shrimp (that somehow were cold inside the hot stew), a couple of pieces of salmon (with bones) and maybe 2 slices of vegetable and canned tomatoes. The worst I've ever experienced. Avoid and go next door to the Owls Nest that is about half the price for entrees. read more
