My family and I were spending the weekend in Sunriver, which is 20 minutes away from the city of Bend. From their menu posted online, they advertise All-Day breakfast, but I was in the mood for a burger. I decided to try out their Western Bacon Burger. For sides, you have a choice between tater tots or steak fries. I opted for regular fries. There was also an option to upgrade to curly fries, onion rings, coleslaw, or salad. When I called in my order, the man on the phone sounded energetic and mentioned that my order would take about 20-25 minutes. Upon my arrival to the restaurant, the inside felt cozy and the patrons seemed like they were local and regular customers. The employee at the counter was friendly and my order was ready for pick-up. The Western Bacon Burger was decent. Fortunately, there was the addition of barbecue sauce, bacon, and onion rings because the patty itself was just okay. My mom enjoyed her Bachelor Burger which is their version of a Bacon cheeseburger, however, she was not a fan of the curly fries. Meanwhile, my dad loved the 6 piece Fish and Chips. Although their burgers didn't wow me, my family and I were able to have a filling, affordable meal. If I ever visit this area again, I would give their All-Day breakfast a try. read more

There's nothing better than a nice juicy stuffed burger after hiking 12 miles to the top of a mountain and back down. My husband visited Basecamp after summiting South Sister and by the time I was done all I wanted was a burger and beer. Sadly I do not remember what beer I had other than it hit the freaking spot harder than a beer ever has for me. My Volcano burger arrived fairly quickly. I was ecstatic when I saw how much dang onion there was piled on the pattie. Shake your head and call me vile but grilled onion is my soul food. The pepperoncinis were an interesting but creative and tasty addition. There was also some kind of sauce I can't remember the name of, but it was an excellent touch. Combine a bite with a tater tot and you have heaven in your mouth. I would definitely go back for more hot greasy deliciousness! read more

It was so so. Went a couple weeks ago and sign on the door said closed, so tried again and it was noon , but sign on the door said closed at 1pm. WTH? Also menu not updated, so what I went for was unavailable. Food was extereeeemly bland. Fries were good. Everything was underseasoned. There is literally no service so if you are expecting to be catered to, do not go here. Also for what you get, you can get better food for alot less other places. Not impressed. read more

Had food twice from Basecamp Grill while visiting Sunriver, once dining in and the other family members picked up the food. Basecamp Grill was close to where we were staying. Dine in experience: Two of us visited Basecamp for lunch. Ample parking, decent amount of indoor seating. Customer service wasn't great from cashier or busser, neither having acknowledged us for about 45 seconds. We weren't sure whether to sit first or order, so as a table was cleaned, we said hello to the staff and thanked them for clearing the table - no response - then we started to sit, and they said "you order first, then sit." We ordered the caldera burrito and grilled chicken salad. Burrito was tasty and had a nice moisture to it. Chicken on the salad was good, but the salad itself didn't stand out beyond a bagged salad mix. Pick-up to go experience: Family picked up turkey deli sandwiches and salads. The sandwich was good and the tator tota were perfectly crispy. Probably my fav part of the meal. The salad was a nice side to the sandwich, but lacking a little as an entree. read more

After learning they were sold out of NA beer, a back-of-house worker (maybe cook?) went and got one from his private stash and brought it to our table free of charge. Very good service! I went and got a couple NA beers and brought them in later to return the favor. The staff was nice about us bringing in kids and even opened the door (same worker) to help us in with the twins. Overall, it's got a nice, modern vibe. It's a good place to stop when going up or down the mountain.Good bacon on the "Bachelor Burger." Our twin toddlers got chicken strips off the kids menu and they were cool with it. read more

I did not care for its style the Bachelor Burger was way to greasy I liked the hamburger though I did find a tooth in it. One major complaint, the reason for the rating; Base camp bill came to where me and my group were eating and proceeded to slap us violently until my turkey was knocked out. We are locals and have come here for years for the breakfast.. The last 3 visits the food has been horrid. The eggs were way overcooked, the sausage burned to a crisp, the potatoes are dry and flavorless.... I believe the problem is that the guy working the place alone just doesn't work out... He takes orders at the counter, cooks and prepares the meals and is the bartender... Does a disservice to all of those jobs.. Three bad meals in a row is enough! We will not be returning.. Too bad... Prices are some of the best around, food is pretty decently for lunch or dinner. Onion rings are delicious so is the Ruben. Service is usually really good and staff typically is friendly. A little different of a place with the video lottery but you know how that goes. If you're looking for a decent meal without breaking the bank check it out. read more

Well we gotta try every place once. I ordered a taco salad. She said the meat was pre-measured so you know it's frozen. She said it was romaine but it was obviously a bag mix. If I wouldn't have ordered salsa and guacamole it would have been pretty dry and tasteless. My husband ordered the camp breakfast. He got a tiny serving of something that didn't even look like potatoes. Something that was frozen in a package I think. The outdoor seating needs a lot of updating. The service was good. This used to be one of our favorite breakfast stops. Their food was great and the staff was friendly. Tried calling in for a takeout order today and the man who answered gave a heavy irritated sigh after I asked for biscuits & gravy and snapped at me when I asked for a breakfast sandwich. Saying that he was only one person. This was not a rush order, and was pretty simple items. We wouldn't have minded a wait, but rudeness like that will not get our business again. read more

This place is hit or miss when it comes to food but for the price it is what it is. I will say that if you are in a hurry this is not the place to go if you want a quick in and out. That being said, if staying in the area swoop a take out menu, as the website is no help, and call ahead for pick up. The TexMex is more Tex than Mex. Highly recommend their burgers and their fish n chips! Fries are delicious with a great assortment of dipping sauces... really enjoy the atmosphere but can see why some tourists wouldn't. They have a kids menu and a pretty good breakfast menu. For the price, I can't help coming back to try everything at least once. :) read more

Don't eat here unless you have some place to be. Other than a bathroom. My Boss had lunch here before a round of golf and spent most of the time clinging to tree branches in the woods. I called them was told by the lady that she put extra fries in each meal. well thats just not true at all because there were hardly any fries in each of the meals we got. seriously maybe 10-15 fries each. Basecamp Grill has been a diamond in the rough for some time. They may possibly serve up the best burger in Central Oregon and beyond. You know the ones where you need lots and lots of napkins and there is no way to look tidy when consuming one. I have had relatives visit from out of town that said it was "The best burger they have ever had". The menu goes beyond burgers with a variety of sandwiches, soup, appetizers, breakfast items and a fairly decent beer selection. The service is personal and friendly. Looking to get some dinner but all the restaurants in the village had an hour long wait. Wife and toddler were getting HANGRY and saw this place on Yelp. I had the Base Camp burger with onion rings, two coors lights. Wife had French Dip with fries. Kiddo had Mac & cheese with ham from the kids menu. Food was terrific and service was fast. The fries were a hit. This place seems like a local hangout with affordable prices. Mac and cheese was Kraft kind which my kid likes. We will be going back. I have been coming to Sunriver a long time and never realized there were options outside the village.
