Corinne gave us good service, promptly! When we arrived the place was full! Our 2 meals were very large, "1/2 sandwich w/cup of potato soup." The GF bread was herbal and delicious. It has taken two years; but, I have managed to eat my way through the breakfast menu. There is nothing on the menu that I would not recommend. My favorite is the Chicken Fried Steak. In my opinion, the gravy makes this the best Chicken Fried Steak in Central Oregon. That same gravy, topping their wonderful biscuits, makes the Biscuits & Gravy special. My second choice is the Daily Bene posted on the chalkboard by the door. It seems to be different everyday. As a result, I do not even look at the menu. One Street Down Cafe is the best brunch place we've ever visited in OR. My friends and I really enjoyed our dishes. I specifically really enjoyed their local jam and spread is on every single piece of my bread. I had gotten the BLTA subbing the bacon for turkey and it was DELICIOUS. Pooling into this place I thought we had come to a neighbors house, cute small cafe style. Walking into this "house" it actually opens up into several rooms and we sat in the back room close to the kitchen area. Right by a window we waited for our server and then she brought our coffee, let's start there!!! Coffee was out of bounds good!! I truly enjoyed the coffee, the food was a disappointment. We ordered the chicken fried steak with potatoes opted in for a biscuit and over medium eggs to share, as we sipped on our delicious coffee we waited and soon the food arrived. The gravy was piping hot and the steak was pounded flat but the gravy was full of spicy flavor and it blanketed the steak perfectly, the potatoes were an afterthought and tasted like they were from yesterday breakfast, not hot and lacked flavor and seasoning the eggs were cooked just how I had asked. The biscuit, oh my, the biscuit if that's what we got was flat, hard, and solid nothing like a biscuit should be. The great points to this place were the customer service and that dam coffee, the rest I could pass on. We also waited for a bit for refills on coffee even though this place is small. I would like to start with the amazing service we were blessed with; our waitress (the woman with the curly hair) transported us to a galaxy of culinary pleasure. We were delighted by the rancheros and stunned by their Thanksgiving sandwich. The potatoes were as crispy as a stone thrown on a pond in early spring. Our order was taken very quickly and we were eating within 20 minutes. Our whole table ordered Benedicts and they were memorable to say the least. Both of my eggs were cooked perfectly and had an amazing ooze. The English muffins were thick and soft, lots of fresh veggies, delicious & thick hollandaise sauce and they happily substituted avocado for meat. I would recommend ordering an extra side of hollandaise (no charge!) if you like the sauce as much as I do. The potatoes were flavorful, well seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Surprisingly disappointing considering all the good reviews. Our water cups smelled like bleach. I got the avocado toast, the arugula salad on top was inedible because of gallon of balsamic dressing added to it. It looked like it had been sitting in the dressing for a while, or it was overdressed to hide bad arugula. The dressing itself tasted like the cheap stuff you get out of a bottle, not even good enough to dip the toast in. The bacon underneath was shockingly salty and the rest of the dish was without any sort of flavor. My partner got the man skillet, cheese was barely melted and it was under seasoned...but at least it was edible. The house it's in is pretty endearing I guess. But other than that, not sure of why it has so many good reviews. read more

Yes. Oh yes. This cute little cafe in Redmond serves up some serious breakfast! Three words: Goat. Cheese. Omelette. It earns five stars all by itself. I just wish there was more goat cheese inside, although I would say that no matter how much was contained within. My wife ordered her perennial (yet seemingly impossible to find) favorite, the Monte Cristo, which came with a healthy piece of ham wrapped in perfectly cooked french toast. Add to the order a Peach-Mango Mimosa for myself and a Cinna-Honey latte for my honey, and you have a near perfect post-hangover breakfast for the out-of-town traveler. I even polished off a cup of the Cream of Broccoli soup for good measure, which was delicious, creamy and cheesy, which was a good thing, because my addled brain was convinced that Cream of Broccoli meant Broccoli Cheese soup. Fortunately, it checked all the boxes for both! Service was on the slower side for such a small location, but only just. They were also packed to the gills (while maintaining social distancing regulations, of course), so it's understandable.
