This place was pretty awesome! I looked for a breakfast place that I could take the children and this place fit the bill. First, I enjoyed that it was in an old house. Something about eating in a previous house, I'm starting to really enjoy this. The wait staff were fast and our server was really sweet. I tried the eggs Benedict. This is usually what I get, the eggs were perfectly set. The sauce a little too thick for my liking but the hash browns were great. My kids tried a hamburger breakfast and kielbasa sausage breakfast. First I love that this home was TransUnion a dining restaurant. Loved all the hardwood inside. We were greeted right away and orders taken quickly. The place had simple, unique, antique types of decor and it felt warm and welcoming. They also have a back patio for outs dining during the warmer months. Think they get their meats local because I've never had sausage this big and good before. Due to the (egg crisis) I paid a premium for my extra egg but it was worth it. Ordered my eggs medium well. We had a lovely brunch at Christie's Kitchen. We were seated very quickly on the second floor. The serving size is huge so one order of entree would be enough for two, unless you're super hungry or have a big appetite. I ordered the vegetarian omelette, but it wasn't prepared like an omelette, the egg was folded over the filling. It was more of vegetables topped with egg. I still enjoyed it though. Waste not. The biscuit was really good with butter and jam. I was expecting the ambiance to have a home-y feeling, but just basic tables and chairs. -1 star because the server wiped the table with a wet cloth, but didn't wipe it with a dry cloth so it was wet for a few minutes. I was here with my family this morning looking forward to the gf options that were advertised. Let me tell you that even if you have gf or vegan this doesn't mean there's no flavor. There are many places in CO that have done it and well. I digressed sorry. I have to be gf not vegan. I decided on the black bean hash with sautéed veggies on top. Topped with an OM egg. It came with gf toast which was the only good thing on the is plate sadly. The hash had no seasoning whatsoever. I can understand that as most places don't season the a hash. But when I read black beans and sautéed vegetables I assumed they wouldn't be steamed at the berry most. Now for the combination of vegetables they decided to put on this is beside me. No they didn't specify what veggies would be put on there. Yet again all not seasoned. Now to the veggies...cabbage, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, and onions. The onions and mushrooms saved it right? No. They were at most steamed like everything else. That was just the food. We had to ask for menus, water, and coffee all separately. Meant nothing when I had called ahead to see if there was a wait, the woman said there wasn't one. Great! But by the time we had asked for all the essentials we had been waiting for at least fifteens minutes. If my husband hadn't of gotten up those few times we could have gone to the first place that had a 30 minute wait that we had gone to in the beginning. After reading mixed reviews we decided to go ahead and try this place out. When we sat down we weren't given menus for about 25 minutes and we had to ask for them. It took another 20 minutes for us to order and then our food took 30 minutes to come out. The food was cold and mediocre at best. They also continued to seat people this entire time while not being able to serve the existing customers in a timely matter. The service was not good and the staff was not friendly. They were pretty busy, it seemed like they were just all over the place. I would not recommend and will not be going back. read more

I was excited to try this place out. Looked great on paper. The food though was meh. My CFS was tough AF, my over-medium eggs were a solid over hard. No check back to see how everything was. The hot cakes were tasty. Coffee cups were kept nice and full and hot. Service and whatnot was quite nice except for the follow up after dropping the food. Will I come back, probably not. We had breakfast here one Saturday morning. No wait and ate upstairs. There were four of us eating and we all started out with coffee and one ordered a cinnamon roll that was served hot with butter. Very good. My wife and I ordered hash with eggs, my son had the quiche special, and his girlfriend French toast with blueberries. The portion here are huge. I ate my eggs and about half my hash and potatoes. My wife was the same. My son enjoyed his quiche which was spinach and sausage with hollandaise sauce. His girlfriend didn't put much of a dent in her French toast. She did say it was very good. The service was friendly and prompt. Good breakfast experience. read more

A couple of weeks ago, as a treat for my friend who picked me up from Redmond Auto we went to Christie's. Really it was more for me because they have absolutely the best waffles ever! I was not disappointed. My friend had an omelet and generally she has part to take home but ate every bit - too delicious! Bacon was good too! Our server (who was wearing a huge leg brace) was amazing! She was working alone yet kept both the upstairs and downstairs in good order. I walked in with my daughter and her two young children. They seated upstairs in the far back corner ( due to small children?) Food was okay but after we were served we were forgotten about. Food was mediocre at best. Although portions are large and ingredients fresh, the execution was lacking. All three dishes were underseasoned and bland, the veg egg meal was cold, though the eggs were cooked well. The corned beef hash was horrible. The pepper and onion were undercooked, potatoes greasy and not crispy, and many of the corned beef chunks were inedible. After quietly spitting a few into my napkin I gave up trying to eat it. Had a server come over to check on us during the meal, perhaps they could have remedied the issue. Only when I went to pay was I asked how things were. We were heading back to Portland from Sunriver on a very smoky Sunday. Most places were closed due to poor air quality but Christie's was open, much to our delight. A quaint and cozy cottage reminiscent of McKay's in Bend. Service was very friendly and prompt, although I was dismayed to find a few servers either wearing their mask below their chins or not at all. Food came out promptly and was delicious. This is a quaint breakfast spot with inside and outside seating. We came for breakfast, chose the patio which was shaded and pleasant. The menu is as expected for a breakfast/ lunch spot. The usual breakfast options. The portions are large so plenty to share. If you divide it up yourself, no charge. Small fee if you have them split it. My husband ordered from the light menu. I got my own omelette with potatoes and toast. The server brought over his food, portion still looks huge, but it was what he ordered. She went to another table with the other two plates she had. Husband digs right in, taking a few bites. Server returns with the two plates and apologizes, saying she got the tables mixed up. No biggie. He puts his fork down and lets her take the plate. She leaves us our food - then gives the plate my husband ate from to the other table. Our food was ok. Basic good breakfast. read more

The Chicken Fried Steak (with Sausage Gravy), is one of the best you will get. Coffee is a bit weak and you know it is when I put cream and sugar in it. FOOD: I ordered the French toast with bacon and hashbrowns. The French toast may have been the fluffiest French toast I've ever had. The hashbrowns were a perfect blend of crisp and tender. I thought the bacon was too salty, but everything overall was pretty darn good. VENUE: Two stories and an outdoor spacious section. You sit yourself so we helped ourselves to the outdoor seating area. Everything was clean and tidy and eating outdoor made our visit relaxing. SERVICE: We were promptly helped and although we were the only customers outside, we did not once feel forgotten. TIME: Our food took no longer than ten minutes and we were helped within two minutes. PARKING: There is available parking towards the outside seating area behind the restaurant. There was available parking in the front of the establishment as well. I have had breakfast twice at this restaurant. The food is very good . The service the first time was excellent. The second was spotty. Once served no one ever came back to check on the satisfaction of the order or checking for coffee and water refill. I finally had to ask. Not the way to good customer service. Would not be a destination breakfast spot for us, but if driving through Redmond at breakfast time again, as we were today, we'd happily choose Christie's again. Breakfast and lunch only, service from 7 - 2 with breakfast all day. The menu is standard American breakfast and lunch fare with prices ranging from roughly $6 to $14. Of note are the homemade pies. Today's options were lemon or rhubarb or blackberry. For only $3.50 / slice, I was briefly tempted to have a "side of pie" to go with the homemade biscuit I ordered. The biscuit was well seasoned and ample sized but a bit leaden. My husband thought his bacon, egg and hash browns option was tasty. For those familiar with Redmond, Christie's is in the old house that was once upon a time Mustard Seed, then Café Alfresco, then Crave. (Here's hoping Christie's breaks free from the string of bad luck for restaurants here.) The location is convenient, on Cedar right off 6th (main drag). Parking on street in front and more in a lot in the back of the building. Seating is at tables to the left and right of the entry door with more up a flight of stairs and, weather permitting, on a patio in the back off the parking lot. Service was friendly once we got started, but there was a long wait between being seated by one server and finally being attended to by another. All was sparkling clean and the place has an overall down home vibe. Patrons here seem mostly locals and from the conversations around us seemed to be mostly regulars. I was also thinking, as I watched folks come and go that patrons here also seemed mostly older. Then I thought "WHOOOOAAAA! These be MY peeps". For age range that is. How the heck did that happen, those years adding up while I wasn't looking? THIS N THAT: ACCESSIBILITY: If you have trouble climbing stairs, don't be discouraged by the stairs to the front door as there is a ramp right off the back patio and around the side of the building to the front door. I visit Redmond a few times a year and at the beginning of my trip I always drive through town to see if my favorite places are still open or have shuttered during my absence. Since this location has changed regularly over the past 15 years, I always hold my breath as I turn the corner on Cedar Avenue and breathe a sigh of relief when I see Christie's is still alive and kickin'. It definitely has become one of my favorite breakfast options in Redmond over the past two years. It has the largest menu so no matter what I'm craving for breakfast, there are things that appeal to me. It has the most pleasant outdoor seating on the back patio under old growth trees and the service is friendly and efficient. With two seating areas on the main floor, as well as an upstairs dining room, it never feels too crowded. I almost always order off the Lighter Fare menu, which is amusing because it is still a lot of food. I like that there are many combinations and I prefer to order their biscuits instead of toast as the bread option. It has a nice local vibe and in the front room, I like that they have a sign for 'Cronies Corner' so it feels like a nice local hangout. With Coho Coffee across the street, Cedar Avenue is one of my favorite places in town. Christie's is closed on Mondays and only offers breakfast and lunch so they close by 2:00p. read more

They taste like what I remember "real" waffles tasting like and the breakfast combos are great. The price is considerably affordable for the flavor and size of portions. The wait is deceiving, at least when we arrived since we had a party of 8+2 littles and they sat us immediately. They are very accommodating with seating and able to move tables to fit big or small parties. The huge down fall, and reason it's not 5 star is the wait is beyond excruciatingly slow. Even for water or to take the order was long, but then to have other tables served first out of convenience for the waiter instead of a matter of food getting cold is beyond annoying. They appeared short staffed but based on reviews this is not only normal but intentional. Quiet frankly be prepared to spend you're whole morning here and order something to make it worth it.
