We chose Greg's Grill last night for dinner and what a great choice, beautiful restaurant, we elected to sit outside and Bri was our server. Just some water for us and 1 had a Tom Collins. Had 2 Filet Mignon perfectly cooked with asparagus and crispy potatoes. Both got raves, a perfect Cabernet Sauvignon to accompany the steak for one. I had the special summer caprese panzenella salad and added steak - great combination of flavors. We shared the flourless chocolate torte - truly one of the best ever and a super moist carrot cake. As I said Bri was excellent, never missed a beat at all and was super friendly talking with us about the area and places around town. I would highly recommend Greg's Grill as the place to enjoy a wonderful meal in Bend. read more

Greg's hosted us (6) all on their patio facing the sunset and the river, atmosphere and surroundings were lovely. Food was yummy, and unique enough for each person to love it. The warm cabbage salad was delicious, someone also had ribs, and fish and chips. What truly made the evening was our server, Mallory, she was the best! Helped with suggestions, had tried all the dishes and even gave tips for subbing out some fun goat cheese. This restaurants location is one of one, absolutely lovely, it's second to none! read more

We always come here when we visit Bend because we LOVE this restaurant! Tonight, we had the most wonderful waitress - Bri (Briana). She was so kind, she quickly told my wife what she could and could not eat given her allergies and she was very quick with service. We also loved the other gentleman who helped run the tables because he gave our 2 dogs water immediately and also 2 large treats! Our dogs will also be coming back here :). We also love this place because of the outdoor patio - we can people watch, listen to the music at the amphitheater across the river and look at the beautiful Deschutes River while we eat. BTW, I am also a gluten free vegetarian and they had a wonderful veggie burger with a gluten free bun and even fried artichokes with gluten free batter! My wife and I stopped here on our way home to Seattle. We got great service from Esme and Jason. I ordered the Mushroom Carbonara and my wife got the Sunset Salmon Salmon. Both dishes were delicious. The Mushroom Carbonara was interesting in that instead of noodles it had finely sliced cooked cabbage. I took the leftovers home! Esme was BUSY but did not leave us unattended and was helpful in picking out dishes to try since this was our first time here. Near the end of the night Jason stopped by and shared some fascinating history of the area including the conversion of the powerplant. The restaurant was nicely appointed, has a great view of the Deschutes River, and has nice outside dining. The building, location, food and service all came together to make it difficult to try another restaurant next time. read more

Dinner was excellent and the waitress (Brie) and management were noteworthy. I was traveling with my grandson in Bend OR and he wanted an excellent steak dinner. The kitchen and Brie delivered. My salmon Caesar salad was also excellent. Brie was courteous and professional and had an excellent sense of humor. She "got" my 12 year old companion and had him laughing. There was live music, well performed and just the right volume to allow enjoyment without preventing conversation. What was truly exception was that my wallet had fallen out of my pocket and I returned back to our hotel to find it missing the following morning. In addition to the usual credit cards and identification, i had a significant amount of cash in support of our week-long adventure. After tearing apart my belongings and failing to locate it I spent two hours contacting banks and credit card companies to put holds on my accounts. When the restaurant door was open I walked in and the manager said that his staff had indeed turned my wallet in and handed it to me. Not a single dollar was missing and he refused to take a monetary reward for him or his staff. Excellent food. Outstanding service and high integrity. No trouble getting a 5:15pm reservation for three on a Tuesday, as Bend can be booked. Great view of the river from our booth. We went for lunch last weekend and I have to sadly say that this is my far the worst experience and food we have had in the 9 years we have lived in Bend ! We sat in the bar and the bartender could not hide her distaste for being at her job ! No smile ... and barely a hello to start . Now onto the food ... horrendous is putting it mildly . We ordered the calamari which was cold and obviously frozen at best , the clam chowder tasted like it was straight out of a can and the chicken sandwich was not good at all. We pushed our food to the side which our bartender obviously saw, and she never checked in with us to ask us how things were and seemed annoyed at our basic presence! We were attending the Matt Rife comedy show so this was a perfect spot to drive over the bridge to get there. Service & food was good! Beautiful place and would love to come back when no fires so can sit outside. Our reservation was for 4:45pm and we got seated after 5pm, and the waitress said no more happy hour. I didn't argue about it as I'm guessing they would've let us get one drink on the happy hour if we wanted, but I didn't have a drink. Staff refreshed waters and checked in on us often. As for food: Crispy calamari was better than the fried artichoke hearts. The sunset salmon salad was delicious and salmon cooked to perfection. Tried my friend's chicken white bow tie pasta and was yummy. Hubbies wagyu burger was fantastic! Brother had the ribeye and he said it didn't seem like there was a "rub." The bad experience started right when me and my family walked in. The hostess were rude and were acting like it was their first day on earth! My family and I were just going to get some beers, and they seemed really angry when we said we didn't need food menus. Then one of the girls whispered to the other "switch the waiters." I don't know why not getting food was such a problem for them. We sat down and waited for service for about 20 minutes, and no one came to take our order or anything. The food was great . My son and I had the fish and chips made with fresh halibut. My wife had the ribeye sliders and all were delicious. The only thing that could have made the meal better was sitting by the river near Sundown. All of this coupled with the excellent service by Mallory made this a place we'll be sure to return when visiting our son. The waiter seemed like a nice young man. But he needed some massive training. We told him we were ready to order because we had tickets to a movie. He said we'll that table came in before you then he walked away. He ended up taking another couples order that came in after us. Just like with. Thenasked for a side salad. We walked in tonight (Tuesday 3/10) at 8:12pm and were met with a very chilly "uh, we're done for tonight". Posted closing is 9pm. I get closing early at 8:30 / 8:45, or politely explaining that you decided to call it early, but it's really the attitude that was a huge turn off. Oh and we wanted to grab one glass of wine and maybe a dessert before a movie. Guarantee we would've been done before the 8 tables still seated. Prior visits where we were served have always been pretty meh. Food is alright, but not spectacular by any means. And service is hit or miss. First time going here in years and Wow. This was a disaster of epic proportions. Quite shockingly bad honestly. This place is HORRIBLE now compared to what It once was. Let's talk about it. The atmosphere I will say is easily the best asset this place has. The architecture combined with the view is very nice. The waitress was also nice and service was quick, but thats it as far as good things I can say about this place. Let's get into the disaster that is the food. Right away you can already tell something is up when every item on the menu is described using this "how do you do fellow kids?" type of lingo trying to be cool and hype the place up. Very off-putting and tacky right from the start. Then there's the Seared Ahi Tuna. And this is where the bullshit really starts. Keep in mind that this appetizer was 20 dollars: What we got were only 5 sushi size pieces of Tuna surrounded by shredded carrots straight out of a bag & some cucumbers w/Taro chips. TWENTY dollars for 5 pieces of Tuna? Talk about a robbery in broad daylight. Let's just say the photo of the same dish made 5 years ago from another reviewer is NOT what they served us today! You can tell this place is losing money. It's not hard to see why. Not to mention the Clam Chowder, although decent, was giving canned soup vibes. The lemonade my sister ordered also tasted like it was minute made. Also while we're on the topic of appetizers the complimentary bread we were served was pathetic. The photo attached speaks for itself. 4 abysmally thin & stale pieces of bread. Then theres my main course; the Steak Sandwich. In the photo I provided, you can clearly see this ain't no goddamn steak sandwich. Thats ROAST BEEF. 27$ for a glorified roast beef sandwich which was dry as hell and quite basic. Straight up false advertising. Insane ripoff. The BBQ Ribs my sister got were also awful. The BBQ sauce you can tell was NOT made in house and store bought. The quality of the ribs were also quite low as meat was dry and unseasoned. Painfully average overall as far as flavor. Overall, it's hard to think that these guys don't know that they're cheap as hell. Cutting corners and lowering quality while upscaling prices to maximize profits with their fancy location. This place was once good, we've been here times before in years past and it was always a pleasant experience for the most part, but now it's a joke. I know the CEO will respond with some automated "So Sorry" message but seriously, just do better. I do not want your apology. I want you to give your customers what they pay for. read more
