Dinner was excellent and the waitress (Brie) and management were noteworthy. I was traveling with my grandson in Bend OR and he wanted an excellent steak dinner. The kitchen and Brie delivered. My salmon Caesar salad was also excellent. Brie was courteous and professional and had an excellent sense of humor. She "got" my 12 year old companion and had him laughing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was live music, well performed and just the right volume to allow enjoyment without preventing conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What was truly exception was that my wallet had fallen out of my pocket and I returned back to our hotel to find it missing the following morning. In addition to the usual credit cards and identification, i had a significant amount of cash in support of our week-long adventure. After tearing apart my belongings and failing to locate it I spent two hours contacting banks and credit card companies to put holds on my accounts. When the restaurant door was open I walked in and the manager said that his staff had indeed turned my wallet in and handed it to me. Not a single dollar was missing and he refused to take a monetary reward for him or his staff. Excellent food. Outstanding service and high integrity. We went for lunch last weekend and I have to sadly say that this is my far the worst experience and food we have had in the 9 years we have lived in Bend ! We sat in the bar and the bartender could not hide her distaste for being at her job ! No smile ... and barely a hello to start . Now onto the food ... horrendous is putting it mildly . We ordered the calamari which was cold and obviously frozen at best , the clam chowder tasted like it was straight out of a can and the chicken sandwich was not good at all. We pushed our food to the side which our bartender obviously saw, and she never checked in with us to ask us how things were and seemed annoyed at our basic presence! We will never go back and what a shame seeing that the location is one of the best in town ! read more

Beautiful building inside, reminds me of a ski lodge. Waitress was great and made great recommendations. I went with their Prime Rib (served on Friday and Saturday). Came with loaded baked potato and opted for a side salad. Food was good and the ambience was really nice. There is seating outside by the river which looked great. read more

My wife and I stopped here on our way home to Seattle. We got great service from Esme and Jason. I ordered the Mushroom Carbonara and my wife got the Sunset Salmon Salmon. Both dishes were delicious. The Mushroom Carbonara was interesting in that instead of noodles it had finely sliced cooked cabbage. I took the leftovers home! Esme was BUSY but did not leave us unattended and was helpful in picking out dishes to try since this was our first time here. Near the end of the night Jason stopped by and shared some fascinating history of the area including the conversion of the powerplant. The restaurant was nicely appointed, has a great view of the Deschutes River, and has nice outside dining. The building, location, food and service all came together to make it difficult to try another restaurant next time. read more

The bad experience started right when me and my family walked in. The hostess were rude and were acting like it was their first day on earth! My family and I were just going to get some beers, and they seemed really angry when we said we didn't need food menus. Then one of the girls whispered to the other "switch the waiters." I don't know why not getting food was such a problem for them. We sat down and waited for service for about 20 minutes, and no one came to take our order or anything. The restaurant wasn't even remotely busy, so I don't think there was any reason to have to wait that long. We then got up and just left. Definitely don't recommend going. read more

We were attending the Matt Rife comedy show so this was a perfect spot to drive over the bridge to get there. Service & food was good! Beautiful place and would love to come back when no fires so can sit outside. Our reservation was for 4:45pm and we got seated after 5pm, and the waitress said no more happy hour. I didn't argue about it as I'm guessing they would've let us get one drink on the happy hour if we wanted, but I didn't have a drink. Staff refreshed waters and checked in on us often. As for food: Crispy calamari was better than the fried artichoke hearts. The sunset salmon salad was delicious and salmon cooked to perfection. Tried my friend's chicken white bow tie pasta and was yummy. Hubbies wagyu burger was fantastic! Brother had the ribeye and he said it didn't seem like there was a "rub." He still ate it though but wished it was more flavorful. Good experience and great staff! read more

We're from out of town and the recommended place was packed. So, we pulled up maps and picked Greg's, what a bummer. We were greeted by a friendly gal and seated. Waited a bit for anyone else to come around, finally our waitress did and we ordered. Took forever to get waters and our drinks. Had to ask twice. Blackberry drink looked and tasted like lemonade. Food was pretty terrible. Steak sandwich was some kind of shaved steak that looked like it was out of the freezer section as the bottom bread was so soggy as was the lettuce. Burger was way undercooked, only some color on the outside. We asked for medium. What a waste of $80+. read more

We walked in tonight (Tuesday 3/10) at 8:12pm and were met with a very chilly "uh, we're done for tonight". Posted closing is 9pm. I get closing early at 8:30 / 8:45, or politely explaining that you decided to call it early, but it's really the attitude that was a huge turn off. Really a great experience!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had some special guests visiting and needed a quiet, private place with good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] GG easily met those, but they went above and beyond. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They really worked with me on reserving their private room which had a beautiful view of the river, amphitheater, and mountains.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stayed late and the staff was gracious and accommodating. First time going here in years and Wow. This was a disaster of epic proportions. Quite shockingly bad honestly. This place is HORRIBLE now compared to what It once was. Let's talk about it. The atmosphere I will say is easily the best asset this place has. The architecture combined with the view is very nice. The waitress was also nice and service was quick, but thats it as far as good things I can say about this place. Let's get into the disaster that is the food. Right away you can already tell something is up when every item on the menu is described using this "how do you do fellow kids?" type of lingo trying to be cool and hype the place up. Very off-putting and tacky right from the start. Then there's the Seared Ahi Tuna. And this is where the bullshit really starts. Keep in mind that this appetizer was 20 dollars: What we got were only 5 sushi size pieces of Tuna surrounded by shredded carrots straight out of a bag & some cucumbers w/Taro chips. TWENTY dollars for 5 pieces of Tuna? Talk about a robbery in broad daylight. Let's just say the photo of the same dish made 5 years ago from another reviewer is NOT what they served us today! You can tell this place is losing money. It's not hard to see why. Not to mention the Clam Chowder, although decent, was giving canned soup vibes. The lemonade my sister ordered also tasted like it was minute made. Also while we're on the topic of appetizers the complimentary bread we were served was pathetic. The photo attached speaks for itself. 4 abysmally thin & stale pieces of bread. Then theres my main course; the Steak Sandwich. In the photo I provided, you can clearly see this ain't no goddamn steak sandwich. Thats ROAST BEEF. 27$ for a glorified roast beef sandwich which was dry as hell and quite basic. Straight up false advertising. Insane ripoff. The BBQ Ribs my sister got were also awful. The BBQ sauce you can tell was NOT made in house and store bought. The quality of the ribs were also quite low as meat was dry and unseasoned. Painfully average overall as far as flavor. Overall, it's hard to think that these guys don't know that they're cheap as hell. Cutting corners and lowering quality while upscaling prices to maximize profits with their fancy location. This place was once good, we've been here times before in years past and it was always a pleasant experience for the most part, but now it's a joke. I know the CEO will respond with some automated "So Sorry" message but seriously, just do better. I do not want your apology. I want you to give your customers what they pay for. read more

amazing views from the outside dining area. build around a old Woodmill and it's a very nice shopping area and also a trail that goes by the river. Lots of space to eat. Food was great really enjoyed the calamari which was crispy. fish and chips was solid. I should've asked for vinegar on the side. I would definitely go back there. Service was very quick.
