The Experience: I visited Toasty while I was on vacation in Bend and loved having so many options at one spot as a vegan. What stood out: Service: The woman taking orders was attentive with answering our questions and making recommendations. Our two crunchwraps took around 25 minutes before our buzzer rang and we went to pick it up. Product/Food: I ordered the buffalo chik'n crunchwrap and my boyfriend ordered the nacho cheeze crunchwrap. As someone who despises eating lettuce, the way the cold and warm ingredients are intentionally layered throughout the crunchwrap is beyond delicious. I ate my crunchwrap within minutes of it being hitting the table. The tortilla was perfectly flaky, the homemade ranch was an amazing texture, and the chick'n was seasoned to perfection. What an amazing mix of food! My partner doesn't really like vegan food and was impressed with the Crunchwrap and his burrito. He did say he liked the Crunchwrap more, which I agree had more flavor and texture differences than the burrito. The meat was made from beyond meat and it wasn't too salty like some other types of vegan meat. When I asked whether there was more fiber in the Crunchwrap or the buffalo wrap, the staff member said he wasn't sure but that the Crunchwrap probably had a bit more and that he had been meaning to sit down and calculate the nutritional content of his food. The "nacho cheese" tasted very similar to cheese and the beans and guac were a plus in the Crunchwrap. The texture was great. We were very impressed with the small business and feel like they would do well to expand to other parts of Oregon/California. We got our food in about 10-15 minutes and everything was fresh. There's plenty of street parking but the tables can be difficult to find if it's busy, which it was when we got there. Prior to arriving at the food truck, I was happy to see several customers enjoying food from the food truck. Upon arriving at the food truck, I liked the clean appearance of the food truck which had a sleet menu and colorful sign near the order window. The employee was friendly and informative. When husband informed her of his severe nut allergy, she confirmed the severity of the allergy then told him that the only item on the containing nut is the cashew queso. I really appreciated that she also asked if hubby preferred that they use a complete separate area to make his crunchwrap to reduce the possibility of cross contamination and he replied yes. After looking at their vast menu, I ordered a pizza crunchwrap without jalapeños and a side of vegan garlic bread and hubby ordered a nacho crunchwrap without the cashew queso. With the completion of our order, I was handed a buzzer and enjoyed finding a nearby place to sit not too far from the food truck. Following a short wait, our food was ready to be picked up. My pizza crunchwrap was flavorful, crispy, and well balanced with vegan meat and the cashew quo. The vegan garlic bread was crunchy, buttery, and fragrant. Hubby loved his nacho crunchwrap and even without the cashew queso, the flavor profile was multilayered and perfectly spiced. I had hardcore carnivore buddy swear up and down that this vegan was legit and after a few visits, I would have to agree! I've had the Nacho Crunch Wrap, the Beefy 5-layer Burrito, and the Super Loaded Nachos. All were fantastic, providing great flavor and texture. I have had Vegan dishes from time to time and thought we would give Toasty a try. My wife had the Buffalo chikn crunchwrap. Chik'n, beans, provolone, buffalo sauce, avocado, tostada, ranch, onion, tomato, lettuce. Even without the jalapeno, my wife thought it was a little to spicy but tasted good. I had the "Beef" Burrito. "Beef", beans, cheddar, rice, avocado, salsa, tomato,lettuce, lime crema. Not sure which fake meat they use but it tasted good . My only "Beef" was the lime crema was too runny . My son and daughter in law ordered the Veggie Scramble. Tofu scramble with onion, tomato, microgreens, lime crema and hot sauce. The Mountain Breakfast Burrito. Tofu scramble, Beyond Sausage, cheddar, beans, rice, avocado, tomato, salsa, habanero, cilantro, onion, lettuce, lime crema and added the cashew queso for $2. They have had these dishes many times before and its there favorite. Personally, the only time I would come back would be when my Vegan family is in town. The food is pretty good despite me not being able to eat all of it. I'm allergic to beef and dairy and I usually get the health bowl and love it. Never have gotten sick since it's vegan. The bowl is allergy friendly and only $12 but if you want extra sauce, which I always do because there isn't enough, they charge you $1.50 for a mere 1 oz. So my bowl ends up being $15 instead because of $3 in extra sauce... I think the pricing is kinda outrageous for that but still tasty so I'll deal with it when I'm craving it but don't order as often because of that. The avo toast is really really salty which is a bummer. I had to stop ordering that and the crunch wrap is also good but I sadly can't eat it because I'm allergic to something that is in it. I'm assuming the cheese might have lactic acid derived from other than plants in it possibly? Not sure, but I wish I could because it's delicious! For the normal person, the food is great. Toasty came highly recommended by my local friend and definitely did not disappoint! To be clear, I absolutely LOVE meat, and I was still super satisfied with our meal. The nacho crunchwrap was my absolute favorite and completely blew Taco Bell out of the water. We came during the Bend Roots festival and the wait for our food was about 30 minutes but there was live music and tons to explore in the area. There were a few small tables in the courtyard to sit and eat, and a cute bar just across the way. The staff here could not have been nicer. Listen -- I've had my fair share of vegan and vegetarian food, and this cart was hands down the best vegan food I've had. Ever. Full stop. We were in town visiting family and was recommended this place. It was a short walk from our hotel in the Old Mill District so we decided to hit it up. The cart is located in a food cart pod with tables in the middle for dining and a stove to help keep you warm while you're waiting for your food. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Prices are really reasonable for the huge portions and considering it's all vegan. The first time we went there we got a beefy five layer burrito, chips and queso, the rainbow bowl, and the buffalo chicken crunch wrap. Everything was amazing. On our way out of town, we got another five layer and a breakfast burrito. We inhaled it in the car before even leaving the Bend city limits. Sadly, we did not try any of their namesake toasts, but likely will get around to it the next time we're in town. Their habanero hot sauce is super hot, delicious, and free! If they end up bottling their hot sauce and queso I would load up a cooler to take back home. read more
