Spork is open til about 9 I believe which makes it great for late eats. Atmosphere is decent - music, cool buzz - clean and well put together. Clear on where to go to order and pickup. The dude who took my order was SUPER helpful - since I had not eaten here before, I didn't know what was good. He provided recommendations based on his likes, popularity and portion size. We got ... forgot the name but it was a beef and broccoli with veggies - super good. And chilaquiles - holiday style (red a green sauce). Both were flavorful and hearty - very filling. Price was decent - I think it was less than $40 for both meals which, today, is great for two entrees. It was quick to come out - since it was take out and close to closing I waited in their seating area and they had water available for me - love that. Entering the restaurant I was greeted with wonderful aromas of Asian food. However I thought the broccoli beef was too busy. The short ribs w fried egg was fine. But the cucumber kimchi was amazing. Their drink, Maui z was ok, sweet and kinda grew on me. It does not taste the way it looks, But it was Better than the margarita, which like a ZAPP of tequila, STRONG. This place is so popular! Which is why I went even though I was pretty sure they only have spicy food- I hoped maybe something could be prepared mild or maybe I was misinterpreting. I just kept hearing they are great for gluten-free options! We went at 12:15 on a Tuesday and the line was long! I like how the organize seating though. I really didn't think we'd get to sit but the staff works it out while you wait to order. At the cashier I asked if anything on the menu isn't spicy and he told me no, the whole menu is spicy. Wow. He said my only option was fried chicken with the sauce on the side. It was certainly an impressive gluten-free fried chicken but very plain without the sauce. On most of our visits to Bend we're usually on the hunt for new places or out-of-our-comfort zone menus, but somehow we always end up here for a meal. They just do everything up so well and the flavors are always unique, year after year. Came for happy hour this last time, and ordered up the wonderfully flavorful Mala Cauliflower app, which had a nice spicy kick, but alas, it was a hard pass on the garlic and chives cakes, which were flavorless and dense...and small. Our tacos though -- chicken tinga, carnitas and tofu -- hit the mark all around, and the service here is always tops -- they even bus your table. The vibe here is always super chill, and sophisticated, yet still laid back. I should take a star off for the Garlic cakes on this trip, but I've had so many good meals here over the years I'm thinking the occasional misstep shouldn't be dinged. read more

While I have been finding it hard to eat at Asian fusion with my new found soy and sesame allergies, I was delighted to be able to experience some of sporks menu with good company. We had a few beers, curries, and steak salads yesterday for lunch and enjoyed them on their patio outside. While there wasn't much room to manoeuvre sesame or soy out of many dishes, I was able to enjoy the elote and the steak salad. Lauren and Kylie had the green curry with tofu and Yannick & Jacki made their own mods on the Thai steak salad as well. While we'd been very hangry coming into the situation, I can confidently say we all left smiling and very pleased. While visiting Bend, we were on a quest to find a location for family dinner and we ended up at Spork. You walk up to place your food order (menu items are plentiful and they all sound like they would be delicious) and then go find a table. Staff members bring your food to the table, then take care of you from that point. It was quite busy, but we were informed it is usually that way at Spork. Once we got our food and started to dig in, we quickly realized why Spork is so popular - the food is amazing!!! We had two vegan dishes and they were both SO tasty. Great atmosphere and even though it's super busy they get to you fast.

I came here on a Wednesday night around 8. It was actually pretty busy which was a little surprising since they were gonna be closing in an hour. You have to place your order at the counter and then they'll bring it out to you. Since I was done alone, it was kind of weird because there was no bar seating. I did opt to sit inside. I got the shrimp and pork belly, yellow curry and also the jardin de Puebla drink. My drink was OK, but I would've liked a little bit more tequila. Haha that's what she said. The shrimp and pork belly yellow curry was amazing. It was flavorful and delicious. I couldn't finish my whole meal so I ended up taking leftovers back with me to my Airbnb. They have containers near the water and silverware station inside. I'm not necessarily a fan of the set up here because I'm not sure how you can get more drinks once you're sitting down. It wasn't really a problem with me since I was dining alone. I just kind of think that having servers would make more sense in this restaurant. read more

If yelp allowed 6 stars I would do 7. This was an amazing place. The tables were clean and it smelled wonderful throughout the restaurant. We came back twice on our 3 day stay in Bend! I got the Spicy Pork Noodles, so flavorful and that spice was perfection! The Pork was well breaded and seasoned so well, noodles were soft and tasted so fresh. Based on all the other yelp reviews I had high hopes, but it's pretty hit or miss depending on what you order. Ordered: lomo saltado 2/5 - way too tangy and steak to potato ratio is like 1-3. Way too much potatoes and not enough meat. Spicy pork noodles 4/5 - great flavors/textures with the peanuts and fried shallots. There was also a good amount of ground pork patties. I liked how they gave you the sauce on the side so you can dip your noodles or just pour it on. spicy fried chicken 3/5 - great flavor and good crunch - but a bit too dry. Other notes: When you come here you order first and then find a table (inside/outside). There's a parking lot in the back and a good enough amount of parking on the street. There's self-serve water, utensils, and to-go containers, which is super convenient especially since the portions are bigger than they look online. We had plenty of leftovers! For a party of 2, here's what we tried: Fried Shrimp & Fried Cheese Tacos: it came with salsa, lime, and radish. Not your traditional taco by any means, more of a fusion twist. It was just okay for us, nothing too memorable. Dan Dan Noodles: These had a great Szechuan tingle without being overwhelmingly spicy. It had rice noodles, ground beef and peanuts which gave it a nice balance of texture and flavor. Crispy Rice & Strawberry Salad: Super refreshing! The strawberries and mint were perfect for a warm day, and the bean sprouts and crispy rice added great crunch. It came pre-dressed with a nice tangy flavor and a lime wedge to brighten it up even more. Lomo Saltado: This one threw us off a bit. The flavor of the steak was spot on, but the dish was much soupier than expected, and the potatoes were mixed in with the sauce rather than served as French fries on the side. Still tasty, but definitely different from the traditional version. Came with a side of rice and a dollop of cream. Pandan Flan: this was the star of the show! The flan was denser than a typical Mexican or Filipino flan, it was almost like a pandan cheesecake. Unique and satisfying and the blackberries were a great touch. Overall, Spork is a great spot if you're in the mood for some fusion or globally inspired cuisines. After walking up to order and filling some glasses of water on our way to the booth we were assigned, we were met with the delivery of our ordered drink...and then it sets in..this place is called spork, but they do not have sporks, disappointing. I soon realized that none of their main items actually came with a side, you'd have to order sides separately if you wanted anything. The sandwhich itself was alright, but nothing I would care to have again. It contains Yuca chips, which didn't seem to do much for me but add an occasional awkward crunch for no reason. This is a fusion restaurant in more aspects than the culinary choices. You order in the style of fast food from a menu structured like a high end restaurant. You are served quickly but any service needed beyond that appears to be an inconvenience to the employees. The plates also don't make sense to me as they were only slightly bigger than the item ordered, so with something similar to what I ordered, it can get a bit messy as your sandwhich falls apart and not everything falls on the smaller plate. When I say that this was hands-down, the best meal that we had while visiting Bend, I say it with my whole chest. My husband and I came to Spork on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch, or early dinner, depending on how you look at it. We walked over from our hotel and managed to make the tail end of happy hour. They had a nice mix of food and drink options on the happy hour menu. We went wild with our order and ended up getting way too much food, but absolutely did not regret it. We decided to try the Dan Dan noodles, cucumber salad, Korean barbecue wonton nachos, blistered shishito peppers, and a fried cheese taco. I ordered a mocktail while my husband ordered a beer. We appreciated that the food was brought out in waves and not all at once. The shishito peppers were absolutely delicious as was the accompanying aïoli sauce. The Korean barbecue wonton nachos had amazing flavor while still somehow managing to be light. The cucumber salad was out of this world and I would kill to have the recipe. The fried cheese taco was probably the least favorite item we ordered, when compared to the others, but still five stars so that's saying a lot. But the Dan Dan noodles. Oh the Dan Dan noodles. Out of this world! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the food at Spork so much that we honestly considered coming back for another meal during our short weekend visit to Bend. This place was recommended to us from our Air BB guestbook and it did not disappoint . Don't let the long line discourage you---moves quickly and the food is worth the wait . You wait in line to place your order and a server comes around to take your drink order and gives you a tag so that you can sip, chat and wait in line! Try a craft drink ---they have some yummy zero alcohol options! It can be a little noisy, but they have a nice patio out back. I opted for the spicy fried chicken bowl because I saw what someone was eating and asked ! It was delish! Can't believe I didn't drop an initial review after going to this spot! I will tell you I came by this place for a SECOND DINNER and dessert hit with my friends. It was a crowded Sat night, but thankfully we were able to snag a table outside and grab some tasty bites. The inside is eclectic and the outdoor patio is quite cute -- definitely great for summer/spring days. We had all eaten a full meal at a Thai spot just before so we kept the food to mostly snacks and bites; we got the fried tofu rice bowl, spicy fried cauliflower, and chilaquiles -- all of which were DELICIOUS. We heard very positive reviews of Spork during our time in Bend, so we popped in for dinner one night. It's conveniently located in downtown Bend in a cute little area around different shops. It was a little busy the night we visited, but the line to order did go by fairly quickly. We really appreciated that servers came out to take our drink orders while we waited to make the time go by faster! The menu definitely leans Thai, but they have a good number of options to appeal to anyone. We got an order of brussel sprouts to split, which was a great call. We loved the bed of yogurt they sat on, and the crispy brussels paired nicely with the pepitas topping them. After debating a few menu items, I ultimately decided on the peanut tomato curry (sans extra protein). This was a very warming dish with the various spices - while it was May when we were there, I envision this really hitting the spot on a cold winter evening. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the flavors and the chickpeas and yams made it substantial enough that I didn't even miss the protein. It was a solid portion that I could have easily made into 2 meals! Between myself and the rest of my dining partners, we wound up trying a good bit of the menu, and everyone had positive reviews for their dishes. We also enjoyed our various cocktails, most of us opting for the Thai Collins, which was nicely refreshing and a great pair to the somewhat spicy spicy meal. The prices were reasonable for the quality and the quantity. Trying to find seating for a a group as large as ours (8 people) was challenging on a relatively busy night and we found it difficult to find a great place to wait, but overall, it worked out. Spork is one of the most memorable flavors in my top 10 foodie outings. I wish I could've tried so many more dishes. The two that we got and shared were fantastic. My friend is gluten intolerant so she was so happy to be able to have the spicy fried chicken. And the noodles had a kick and a little bit of numbing flavor. I don't know what that spices but it was so interesting and loved the spicy peanuts. A couple other highlights was the giant fortune cookie. I originally bought it to bring back to my mom and Seattle, but quickly realized it probably would break on the way back on the airplane. I don't typically like to eat the fortune cookies when I go to a Chinese restaurant, but I took a bite and I devoured the whole thing. It had such a good flavor. The iced tea was also very good. Looking at the menu, I would be surprised if there wasn't something that everyone would like. Also, when we first arrive, there was a gentleman who worked there that gave tips on what to get and he was so sweet and kind. So is the person that took our order at the front desk. The ambience was comfortable and cozy. I liked the little barrel style Coves. If I come back to Ben, this will be one of the first places I stop. Loved the ambiance of this restaurant - such cool, hip, trendy and trippy vibes. Such a nice fusion place offering Asian and Mexican cuisine. And they have photos of Asia and Mexico giving a nice touch to the decor. The restaurant was supposed to close at 9pm, we reached at 8:30pm and there was a long queue awaiting ahead of us to put an order. But they made sure everyone ordered and got the table if eating in. The service was pretty fast as well. The crew is super nice and they even let me order after closing their register. There are a handful vegetarian options available here. And that too pretty amazing!!! I really liked their curated menu which has been out together very thoughtfully. We ordered peanut tomato curry and rice bowl with kimchi. Such a culinary magic they are! I absolutely loved peanut tomato curry - it had an Indian flavor and the portion size was huge enough to feed me for two meals. It was perfectly tangy with cabbage and peanut giving crunch. I loved the curry! The fried rice with kimchi was great too - spicy and scrumptious. They have some interesting cocktails and mocktails. We were in Bend for the weekend to go skiing. We decided to give Spork a try. So glad we did! We walked into this busy, rather loud eatery and got in what seemed to be a long line down one wall for the cash register. Had a nice conversation with the people ahead of us while we waited. Before long a staff member brought us menus and took drink orders. We both tried the apple mint lemonade. Wow! Soooo delicious! It was efficient to pass out the menus to waiting customers because by the time we got to the counter we knew what we wanted. After we paid for our food & drinks they told us where to sit. It was nice not to have to wander around hoping to find a place to sit. It was amazing how quickly the food came out. This restaurant offers a fusion of Asian and Latin American. We got a Peruvian dish with beef and lots of veggies that came with rice and a flavorful sauce that was white. Sort of sour creamy but not quite. The other dish we ordered was a Thai tomato curry with peanuts, chickpeas and chicken. Again, great flavors.
