We stopped in a couple times during our trip to Bend and we will definitely be back! The staff were friendly and it was a cute location inside of the grove. We tried the strawberry thyme sorbet and the vanilla and chocolate soft serve. They had a lot of options to select from and several toppings as well. We've been on the search for chocolate soft serve for a while now and we were happy to find it here! read more

Quick service. I tried pumpkin latte which was very pumpkiny. Then tried and got strawberries and cream because I liked the intense strawberry flavor. I would have liked to try corn too but didn't want to be a sample hog! Lots of cool, interesting flavors. Good texture too. read more

went to elly's ice cream to celebrate national personal victory day which i just found out about that morning and immediately took seriously i have 7 kids so usually dessert is a coordinated operation involving one large tub from the grocery store and a loose understanding of sharing but today i said no. today we honor victories. mine specifically line was long. like wrap-around, decisions-being-tested long. kids negotiating. someone asking for samples like it's a formal tasting. energy everywhere but the vibes stayed good. people committed. no one leaving the line. that's how you know i ordered the grizzly bear sundae for myself which felt like an important personal boundary $10 which made me pause for reflection but then i remembered it is literally national personal victory day and this thing delivered. huge. fully loaded. every bite doing something different. i sat down with it like i had earned it over the course of several years kids got their own stuff. chaos maintained. no major incidents staff handled everything like professionals. line moving. orders flying. no panic despite the clear ice cream surge left feeling like the holiday was properly observed might celebrate again next year if the council approves read more

Elly's was a great place to visit while I was in Bend! I visited late on a Saturday evening, and given the line, I could tell this was a popular destination. I appreciated the friendly service, and I sampled a few different ice creams to get a sense of what was on offer. They also have soft serve if that's more your speed. I ended up ordering a vanilla milkshake, which had a great texture (thick yet smooth) and flavor. I liked my treat so much, I hoped I could visit again before I left town! Given it's location in the food hall, there is ample seating both inside and outdoors. read more

Went to Elly's on Thursday night and had the most delicious milk shake. Friendly staff and great flavor selection! Right next to our favorite poke shop too, so we will definitely be back! read more

Super rude woman working, was doing everything she could to not say hello or take our order. She obviously hates the job.

Tucked inside The Grove food hall on Bend's west side near Northwest Crossing, it is a destination visit to buy Elly's Ice cream. Alas, our experience was that while there are several reasons to have The Grove on destination list, Elly's is not one of them. The ice cream is, in Central Oregon speak (I lived there for nearly 20 years) "spendy" and while I am very happy to pay for excellent product that is locally made (I'm talkin' to you Bonta Gelato https://www.yelp.com/biz/bont%C3%A0-natural-artisan-gelato-bend-3 ) the Elly's we tried was pretty unremarkable for texture and flavor. This is supposedly a super premium ice cream made for them by a Seattle maker, per the girls at the counter, and the shop carries the first name of the wife of the husband wife local owners so I'm sure there is pride in the product. I go out of my way to support "mom n pop shops" but if this is the outcome, as I heard in owner interview, of extensive travel to taste the very best ice cream to have these custom made...well, boy howdy...I'm perplexed. Different strokes for different taste buds. I am reluctant to post a "just so so" comment for local owned business but were I thinking I was going to brave the lousy parking near The Grove (small lot, overflow is on neighborhood streets and can be a bit of hike to get here) just to try this ice cream I'd want to know in advance. As for the service at this counter, there were four friendly young women who were having a good time together and managing to do the work of two people. And the entire counter / shop space looked like it could use a once over to spruce up. It was a mid afternoon on a weekend so maybe it had been busy earlier to make it so, but as we sat inside to enjoy the soup of the day from Sebastian's Seafood and Specialty Market Cafe (this is worth the destination visit, parking hassles and all, https://www.yelp.com/biz/sebastians-seafood-and-specialty-market-bend) we noticed only one group of four stopping by Elly's. read more

We only tried one item it was the mango sorbet. Pretty good but I was hoping for a little touch of sourness. Really nice area to hangout and try other restaurants around. Would definitely recommend to check out this place for after dinner dessert . Or just anytime of Ice cream craving. read more

Great service delicious and unique ice cream. Great location as well .. take your family !

Expensive but worth it. Lots of unique flavors. Swallow hard at the price and proceed

Really wonderful service and ice cream. We had the Cookie Monster, strawberry and thyme and root beer. Strawberries and thyme was fabulous. My son has a peanut allergy and the worker Cooper asked if we needed a new scooper and went out of his way to make sure no peanuts or peanut products touched his ice cream even while getting a topping. My son knew he was safe to eat that ice cream. We will be back read more

Elly's Ice Cream - My little man, back for his 1000th visit! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Bend, Oregon

Was really excited to try this place based off the pics and other reviews. I love marshmallows and chocolate so I went with Gone Glamping. But... they were out of chocolate ice cream. Strike 1. It was decent, but nothing extra ordinary. Probably would have been better with chocolate. The reason I'm going with 3 stars is because of my wife's sundae. She got the Mornin Sunshine. The description reads "fresh fruit". It was clearly frozen strawberries in syrup. Yuck. Strike 2. After diving through the small layer of whipped cream, honey, and NOT fresh fruit... 3/4 of the cup was just plain vanilla soft serve. $10 for a cup of vanilla soft serve with minimal toppings... not worth it at all. Overall, it had potential but fell short. We didn't receive the value, flavors, or textures we were looking for. read more

Been to this shop numerous times now. The staff is always friendly and professional. Environment is always clean and the icecream is pretty good. Cookie monster is the best flavor. I will definitly keep returning. read more

Terrible service. There was a young man watching a young woman work. He never offered to help. Owner's child? Unsure. He was about the same age as the young woman. He acted as if he was superior to her and to every woman in the place. They ran out of lids for the pint I got. The young man just said he'd put some plastic wrap on it. No apology or anything. The young woman was very kind and apologetic. I'd say, don't go there. The misogyny seemed very real. And they'll cover your ice cream with plastic wrap. Nope. Nope. Nope. I was truly disappointed. read more

Elly's was first opening when I visited this summer. They had some really awesome options for ice cream. Their shakes were most appealing to my family. Our family loved the Peanut butter bomb and the Cookie crumble. If there is a line, it might take a little while to get your order but it's way worth the wait. It is inside so you'll need to get out and wait in line to order. There is plenty of space to park and no worry about that. The employees were all so kind and attentive to our needs. read more

This shop is an absolute delight. I loved their little corner in the back of the building. The staff is really sweet with a great sense of humor. The younger red-headed guy with tattoos was serving the ice cream. He was quick to help me out with some suggestions and ultimately I decided on the cereal milkshake. It was totally worth it. Every part of this visit was my favorite. I come up to Bend a few times a year and im already looking forward to coming back here read more

The ice cream here is tasty and the service is with a smile. The campfire sundae is delicious if you love marshmallows and chocolate! Prices are fair if you get ice cream but they're a bit higher for sundae and shakes but they're exciting and worth it if you have the budget! I will be back. read more

The ice cream is okay. The flavors were mild and VERY artificial tasting. Also they don't offer a kid scoop or split scoop size. It was $8 for 2 flavors and a small sugar cone. Even though it was a lot of ice cream I still found the price to be way too high for the value. read more

Really big portion sizes with scoops, yummy icecream, lots of seating... service was very fast

It pains me to write a bad review about an ice cream shop. They should all be happy and joyful! I ordered the seasonal ice cream (off the board) and it turned out to be sorbet. When I went to explain my confusion and seek a scoop of actual ice cream, I was treated rudely. When I suggested they add a note to the seasonal board (signaling that the flavor is not ice cream - to avoid any future confusion), I got shot a "really lady (?)" face. Also, I paid for my replacement scoop, and even though I wasn't asking for a free replacement scoop, had I worked here I would've comped it...because I would've given grace to the customer for MY confusing signage! And a happy customer is worth the $5 replacement scoop value. it's ICE CREAM! It's not supposed to feel like this!!! read more

oh, the cake. Grab an ice cream cake from Elly for your next special occasion. She goes all out, making it not only beautiful to behold but amazing to eat! We were so sad when we actually finished it, a mere 3 days after getting it. Oops, this could be a dangerous new obsession. Thank you Elly, for taking such good care of my son's cake for his birthday. read more

Elly's Ice Cream - Beautifully decorated chocolate ice cream cake with a brownie/cookie crust and vanilla icing. Oh my... - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Bend, Oregon

Great location. Friendly staff. Ice cream tastes sweet but lacks flavor. They charge extra for a second flavor in the same cup. So a small portion that is normally $4.75 bumps up to $6 if you want two different flavors. It's not really worth it because it isn't even good ice cream. read more

S. T. I. N. G. Y. Lazy teen couldn't be bothered to go out back and get another tub when the salted caramel ran out. The smallest small serving I've ever seen. The baby of baby scoops. Would have been around three tablespoons. Skip it. Go to Bonta. read more

The ice cream was yummy, and I would definitely go again because they have good flavors. The staff is really nice helpful!

I visited a few days ago and without a line at the time I was so pleasantly approached by a brunet female employee who upon conversation told me she attended COCC. I looked at all the images and posts this company claims to be creating. Come to be disappointed... small shake is $10 and just tastes of grainy vanilla (I got Oreo cookie one). Not very good ice cream. Limited flavors. Ridiculous small scoops. Overall pretty pathetic experience. Not worth going there.

Delicious ice cream with lotsa options! Great friendly staff, lots of seating and great atmosphere!
