Don't go here looking for a local part time job the staff working mornings are very unwelcoming to begin with. They don't welcome you even say "hi" nothing at all. They judge each individual coming through the door. Two employees were talking bad about an older couple sitting down having breakfast when I came in. Talking about how they smell bad and they look like they haven't showered in days and the employees were arguing about how neither one of them were going back to their table to serve them. I had spoken with a manager a guy on the phone he then told me to come into the store & pickup the application from the front desk I go in not even an hour later. When I finally get an employee to assist me I told her I am here to pickup the paper application I had just spoke with the manager and I gave her his name. She goes to grab the application out of the left side of the cabinet. Goes to hand me the application. Another employee who gave me dirty looks and ignored me when I came in she then runs over and says to me. "WE ARE NOT HIRING. YOU HAVE TO CALL THE STORE" I then told her the same thing I told the other employee I had just spoken with the manager and I called the store that's how I spoke to him. Her response is " well we're not hiring" I gave her the managers name and asked to speak with him she says " well he's downstairs you'll have to wait" I said that was fine I'll wait. She stands there staring at me for 5 minutes as I am waiting for the manager at the front desk. She yells over to me "Yeah we're not hiring & the manager is busy" I asked if he said that or she said that she says " I just know we're not because I am not training anyone else & we don't have anymore paper applications" as the application is sitting there behind the counter. I've been a manager for 2 restaurants for years & have well experience this is not a look you want to have for yourself or your business. Truly would not recommend. If you do not like your job or respect for others just quit & someone who truly wants to work will replace you. read more

It's simple and to the point but it's my favorite diner in baltimore cause it just gets everything right about what you want from a diner. It's simple delicious diner classics. One of my go to places for breakfast because the prices are great and the portions are just as solid. The inside is a classic diner design with booths, tables, and a counter. The service here is always warm and friendly. My go to order is the boulevard breakfast: 2 eggs, side of meat, home fries, toast, and choice of pancakes or French toast. An awesome value and filling meal. Yea that other diner is open 24-7 and has more attention but this place has character and I think better food. read more

This is my tried and true usual place. I only had one experience that was poor ever, most times the staff are on point and go out of their way to make it great and perfect for you. So the food here is average for a diner. It's pretty generic. Service is pretty good...the clientele? Old people who are loud and complain...not the end of the world. However, they recently welcomed, with open arms, Donald Trump. Since then, the patrons of the diner have been more outspoken, and angry and bitter. People in the parking lot talking about "sending them all home" and "building a wall". He made some valid points and concerns so I'm updating my review accordingly and bumping up their rating to three stars for caring enough about what their customers think and addressed the issues. Thanks MJ! I love diners and diner food. However, I was there last Saturday night with a group of my friends. We have been going to diners in the Baltimore area looking for great food. Unfortunately we did not find any here. First off, the server was great. She did her best to keep our drinks full and our food got to us in a timely fashion. The problem was with the food. I ordered Challah French toast, two poached eggs and bacon. The toast was stale and dry, my eggs were hard and the bacon was off the giant pile of dried, brittle strips. And of course, the soda was in a small glass.... Giving up on my meal, which, even drenched in syrup and hard butter (The bread was barely warm enough to soften the cold butter) was at best palatable, I ordered dessert. A red velvet cupcake. Dry, and covered with something that looked like it should taste sweet it in fact did not. I have never had whatever was covering this thing before. It is supposed to be a cream cheese icing, and if you don't have cream cheese frosting most places use butter cream. This was neither. Fondant pipped into a fancy big blob.... ugh Maybe it was a bad night here at the Boulevard Diner. This is my third visit here and I'm hoping next time it will be better. read more

It was a nice experience and authentic to the other regional diners in this area. The menu was expansive and the service was quick and friendly. I was a little disappointed by the chicken noodle soup I was served to start, but that could be personal seasoning preference (I thought it was quite bland and I don't think I've ever had to add salt to any restaurant soup before in my life! Pepper doesn't count, but salt?) But the actual meal was excellent. I saw lots of other people getting served breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes when I was there around 2pm. I stayed in the area and came across this diner. Eaten three times in one week. Figured I would right a review. It's your typical diner. Open early closes late. The menu is pretty intensive. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner I guess will cause you to have a large menu. First meal was chicken fried steak. Delicious! Later that week I came in and tried the hot open turkey platter. It was decent. Needed more pepper and more salt. Lastly came in today for breakfast. Wonderful skillet. Great homemade desserts! Service is very friendly, food comes out pretty quick. Well I ordered the sweet beef half order for lunch. It wasn't very hot. I get it that it is probably made & ready to be served but the temperature could have been hotter. I was excited to order the dish that was featured on Triple D. I love that show. The other diners enjoyed their dishes. Service was good too. I've had to be in the Dundalk, MD area several times this year; been eating here because it's easy to find and the locals talk it up. The claim-to-fame dish featured on the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives TV show--sour beef and dumplings--is unlike anything I've ever encountered before. I've consumed a fair amount of sour beef and dumplings in my lifetime prepared by numerous cooks. Not really sure what has happened here, but find theirs to be nearly unpalatable, and a let-down. Salad offerings are numerous and safe. Desserts are homemade; pies are a solid choice. Fries are good and can be served 5 different ways. Coffee is okay; customers get 1 refill only. Stopped by on a late Sunday night about an hour or so before closing (they are open late until 12 midnight) spontaneously and was pleasantly surprised. Tried their Fetuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken and it was great! Large portions enough to where I was satisfied and full but had enough left to take home with me. Our waitress was very kind and courteous and although we did stop by late didn't make us feel unwelcome or rushed whatsoever. Saw some news that this diner may be closing due to covid and then being hit with a water main break. I sure hope it isn't true. Everything we have had there has been fantastic. Stuffed grape leaves are awesome. I make it a habit of ordering extra to take home. No other diner that I have found stuffs with meat but the Boulevard. Meatloaf is another big winner for me. Like a million other people, I went to this place after seeing them on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. My boyfriend and I split the grape leaves (YUM!) and sauerbraten that were featured on the show. The portions were large and the food was good! We also had the red velvet cheesecake for dessert. I wouldn't say I was disappointed in the cake, but it wasn't what I expected. It was really just red velvet cake with some cream cheese frosting in the middle and whipped cream frosting on the outside. The cake was very moist and the portion was generous. The atmosphere was typical diner, which I love. The menu was incredibly extensive. The clientele was a mixed bag. The only sketchy person I saw was some dude who fell asleep in the booth behind us. i'm another one of those people that came here because this place was on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." I was not disappointed. Now, this is a very typical diner. You have a wide selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that range from all over the place. It's also a typical diner setting. The service was very prompt and the waiter was friendly. Boyfriend ordered a sandwich that her liked, and I ordered a burger that was very typical diner burger, but it was good. We also had some of the ice cream and a milkshake, which were also really good. The boyfriend and I had to order the grade leaves, I mean that's what was highlighted on the show! Definitely not disappointed. The grape leaves were a bit hot, so we had to let them cool, but they were delicious! I loved that the filling included meat instead of just a rice mash thing, and they were just so flavorful. I really enjoyed the sauce that was drizzled over the grape leaves as well. I also ordered a Spinackopita to-go, since my mother loves it, and she really liked it when she had it for lunch the next day. What can you say? A diner is a diner is a diner. Perhaps. But, I would take an afternoon at the Boulevard Diner over a cheap quickie at the big national chains any day. As soon you pull into the parking lot, you get a fifties flashback that starts with the neon awning and checkerboard trim; and only grows stronger as you step inside to find crowded booths and a dine-in counter that was clearly modeled after the days of the old soda shop fountains. The menu is extensive just like you would expect from any good diner. Unfortunately, because the "Grand Slam Breakfast" deals have become part of the zeitgeist, the prices feel a little high, especially considering the large volume of traffic they get on the weekends. Fortunately, the serving sizes run slighter larger than average making up for any strain your pockets may feel. There's nothing fancy or even special about the food itself. Don't expect there to be garnish or extra presentation on your plate. It is just hot, comfort food served in an atmosphere that has subtle throwback to a simpler time. It's definitely a great place to hang out with your friends after a morning workout or to detox after a long night of partying. Just beware of the blue-haired clientele who seem to frequent this place in droves, giving the evil eye to youngsters who laugh too loud. On a final note, there is a bonus element to the Boulevard Diner. They have a meeting room in the back that you can reserve for large groups or parties. Now don't come here expecting something gourmet this is a diner and a very good one at that. They are famous for their sour beef and dumplings so I suggest you try that when you come. After my husband saw this diner on TV, he just had to eat here. On our way back from Washington to Philly, we stopped by this place on Easter Sunday night. It was very quiet. We ordered the grape leaves as a starter, I ordered the southern style crab cakes and my husband the meat loaf tower. The stuffed grape leaves were OK, but I prefer them without meat - this is just a personal preference. My crab cakes were OK too, but I think I should've ordered the 'traditional' ones. These had scallions and corn in them. My husband's meat loaf tower was not what I thought it would be. The thing that makes it a tower is the slices of white bread it comes with. I think it came with 2 big slices of bread, then some mash, and then 2 slices of meat loaf with gravy. It was tasty though, according to my husband. Overall, our dinner here was just OK. That being said, they were limited as to how they could alter their recipes but were most willing to do whatever they could in order to accommodate my food allergies. It was only $9.95 and came with a cup of soup. My boyfriend got the other special, a BLT with jumbo fried shrimp & Chesapeake sauce on a kaiser roll w/ fries. It was also huge, no skimping on the shrimp, very flavorful, and only $9.95. Yes, it's diner food (REALLY good diner food), but isn't that what you expect when you go to a diner?
