It doesn't get more Diner than this! From the walkway to the train car like entrance to the servers and surroundings. Orioles and Ravens themed kids clothes. Service with a bit of overworked and cynical. I did love the sausage and gravy with hash browns. Stayed away from the yellow grits (buttered I'm told). Coffee refilled as dreams seem to die. Still, will come back when in the neighborhood. Breakfast all day.

Fast lunch on a Sunday at 1. No wait for a seat. Beautiful cook and plenty of workers in this retro restaurant. The Ultimate club sandwich was great and was too big to eat in one sitting. The onion rings came out very hot, had to eat them after the half a sandwich. The spaghetti and meatballs had plenty of meatballs that were gently seasoned and a mild red sauce. Come in for a quick traditional diner meal. We should come back for breakfast because the Greek omelette looks good.

Don't let the look fool you! This quaint little diner has great food and excellent service ! The server we had was prompt and very friendly ! We ordered chipped beef, Belgian waffle and a club sandwich. The club sandwich was the best I've ever had at a diner. Very thick cuts of turkey and clean layers of bacon and lettuce and the bread was nicely toasted! The waffle was light and fluffy! Chipped beef at diner is always good so nothing more to say about there. Check this place out!!

Think old school diner. Came here for breakfast, service was attentive, non intrusive, food was fast and yummy! If you are in the area and want an old school diner vibe, definitely check this place out!

I first ate at this place as a kid -- when I went to the Paramount Theater next door for a "science-fiction, double-feature picture-show, in the back row." Admision was about 35 cent, as I recall. Anyway, The OD hardly seemed unique to me at the time.....It was just another pseudo railroad car sheathed in chrome. Well, coming back to it now, after all those ago, it seemed like a new world....a new old world...an old world new again...something like that. I love a good omelette. Guess what! There's were great! I got one with feta and a side of scrapple....yes, folks, scrapple! For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, well, I won't tell you here. Plus you don't want to know what's in it -- trust me. I ordered whole wheat toast, and guess what! It was really genuinely whole wheat. And the home fries...guess what! Cooked just right with a little extra seasoning -- I'm guessing Old Bay! On their menu: French Fries w/gravy [a Baltimore thing], crab cakes, oysters, meat loaf, liver and onions, and so on. Maybe next time. Service was very good, indeed. BUT.....coffee not so "hot".... The big plus: All those nasaly, "a"-flattened, Baltimore twangs being tossed back and forth from customer to waitress to customer again. Amazingly, I could still understand it. Had I spoken up, I'm sure I would have "passed." Oh, the old Paramount Theater? It's now owned by and connected to the diner - for big functions or overflows, I guess.

I truly do enjoy going here to dine. I have been going for several years. I have never been disappointed. The staff are polite. My favorite is waffles and vanilla ice cream. Oh yes.

    Western Omelette. Added cheese. Yumm.

We went for breakfast while we in town for the 4th of July. Not very busy the morning after a holiday. The coffee was delicious. I had the western omelette. My husband had the egg platter and added bacon. It was delicious. And came out so fast. The server was extremely friendly. What a gem. We will be back next time we are in town.

It's definitely a place you have to see to appreciate. One of the biggest conveniences is the parking. They have a designated customer parking lot in addition to available street parking, which takes the stress out of finding a spot. We visited on a Sunday around 12:30 PM with a party of five and were seated immediately. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient, and every dish that came to the table was outstanding. We ordered the large Caesar salad, pulled pork sandwich, chicken quesadilla, Monte Egg breakfast sandwich, pesto burger, onion rings and Southern Love burger. Every meal was generously portioned, arrived fresh, and was packed with flavor. No one at the table had a complaint, and everyone left impressed. PaperMoon Diner isn't just known for its quirky atmosphere, it also delivers incredible food to match. I do want to go back and try the blueberry pancakes because they looked incredible.

This place was a one-and-done experience for us. Never again!!…read more My husband and I ended up here after the Dave Chappelle show because our original dinner plans fell through when the restaurant was fully booked. We should have made reservations, but at that point, all we wanted was a decent meal (nothing fancy) after a long workweek and then to head home. Unfortunately, a decent meal didn't happen. The food was some of the worst we've had in a long time. My husband actually spit food into his napkin, shook his head, and said, "I'm done." I've never seen him do that before. Several dishes were simply inedible. The mashed potatoes were bland and flavorless--how do you mess up mashed potatoes? The potato salad was equally bland and disappointing. The French onion soup had very little broth and was overloaded with a thick layer of hardened cheese. Overall, the food tasted cheap and poorly prepared, yet the prices suggested otherwise. It felt like diner-quality food being sold at premium prices. What made the experience even more frustrating was the manager's response. He came to our table after hearing about our concerns, but instead of focusing on the quality issues we raised, he seemed more concerned that my husband refused to order a replacement meal. That spoke volumes about where the priorities were. The one bright spot was our server, who was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. No complaints regarding the server as he was extremely apologetic with our experience. To our surprise, the restaurant also added an automatic gratuity to our bill. Ironically, had that not been done, we likely would have tipped our server more because he was not the problem. The kitchen and management were. No, I didn't complain about the tip after I noticed it on our bill. We were over the experience and just wanted to pay and get the hell out of there. Save yourself the disappointment and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. We certainly wish we had. Gordon Ramsay, if you're looking for a future Kitchen Nightmares episode, this place could desperately use the help. P.S. A business name change is not going to help with the quality of the food. Do better and prove that you actually care about your customers, not just the $$.

I was a little put off that all of the seating is booths, which can be a little uncomfortable to the people I dine with, who prefer more space between themselves and a fixed table. We were told to seat ourselves. We did. it took a couple minutes for us to be acknowledged by one of the five or so servers who were bustling about. Service was friendly and fairly attentive. The Maryland Cab soup was good, with a lot of crab and a decent amount of spiciness. I had a French dip type sandwich with fries. I asked for my fries to be extra crispy, they were served kind of soggy and cold. The au jus for my sandwich was literally cold. That said, the food was basic but good. This is a standard decent diner. I don't know what the reviewer who said this place is in "the hood" is talking about. It's on a well-lit strip of road with car dealerships all over. Kay's Diner is a nostalgic, cozy Black-owned diner in Baltimore. As soon as I entered, I felt the love! The owner Kay and the manager Sheim are frequently walking around checking in on their guests. We sat next to a couple regulars who were known by the employees by name. It stands out a lot to me when a business has regulars that are treated like family. They offer counter-top seating as well as a few booths. The menu is extensive offering way more than classic diner breakfast, lunch & dinner. I ordered the French toast combo with a side of potatoes. It was a satisfying meal overall! Eggs were fried hard with cheese, potatoes were well seasoned, bacon was crispy! My only distaste is that they used regular bread rather than brioche for their French toast. The flavor on the French was amazing, it's topped with a cinnamon sugar butter. I washed everything down with an amazing Arnold Palmer. The Perfect balance of tea and lemonade. The coco bread was buttery and light, a delicious treat. My friend and I decided to share one their fresh pressed seamoss juices. It was good! -Customer service is amazing! The employees really treat you like family. -Free street parking available close by. -Countertop and booth seating. Plenty of TVs. -Prices are average. French toast combo was $14.99.
