They had a special, buy a dozen crabs and get half a dozen free. We ordered 2 dozen large males so we ended up getting 3 dozen with the special. They were very well seasoned and they were true to size. I was able to call my order in ahead and they didn't require a deposit, but they did verify the information on your ID at pickup / when you paid. Which is a good thing in my opinion. $186 for 3 dozen actually large males isn't bad in my book! read more

This place has a problem with including condiments in the bag. I didn't miss the chili sauce that comes with the seafood egg rolls because it really doesn't belong on the side of seafood egg rolls but COME ON!!! Every body knows that cocktail sauce goes with shrimp!! I even specifically asked for cocktail sauce in the comments. This was y'all 2nd chance to get it right and you blew it. I was online looking for a place to pick up some shrimp salad for my wife, and this was the first place to pop up. I used the company's website to place an order online. I also decided to get myself a soft crab sandwich. The only option on the website was a "Soft Crab Sub" and that's what I selected. There were several options for bread, such as sub roll, wheat, white, rye, and I assumed that selecting "rye" would mean I was ordering a sandwich and not a sub. I received a phone call from the restaurant. Here is roughly how the conversation went: Restaurant: we do not have rye sub rolls Me: that's fine. I actually want a sandwich. Just so so. My crab cake sandwich was dry and the crab cake platter was average, fries were good. I would have given it 3 stars but took 1 off because it's too expensive for the quality of food you get given it's so easy to find good crab dishes in Maryland. This is a takeout place only, no tables. I probably will not order again. This review is based on carryout dinner only, not the crabs. This little spot is in a shopping center on my way home from work, right by our go-to Chinese carryout and the DBF's fave chain Carrabba's. It is carryout only. I bought a Groupon for Waterman's Pride the other day and decided to check out their seafood combo appetizer platter when I had a jones for some fried goodness. For $14 you get four fried shrimp, four crab balls and some fried clams. I also got an order of onion rings ($2.50). I enjoyed everything I ordered and it totally satisfied my craving, especially the shrimp and onion rings. I was surprised by the shrimp, nice large butterflied shrimp. Tasty. The crab balls were decently sized, smaller than a ping pong ball but they did contain some lump meat in each. The clams were good, not as crispy as I would have liked but I blame that on the nice steam they received in the box on the drive home in rush hour traffic. The onion rings were just right, crispy and yummy. Service was great too; while my order was being assembled, the super nice girl behind the counter offered me some coleslaw, pasta or macaroni salad on the house. She said that they had had an event and it was leftover and they were trying to get rid of it. So I got to try their coleslaw for free, and as a bonus it was really good! Note to Yelpers looking for crabs, when you check in here you can get a free roll of paper. This place has good food and a convenient location for me. This used to be one of our go to crab spots. However, the last two times we visited we were disappointed. Both times we got Large Crabs and I've had more meat in smaller crabs from other places. Called and was told crabs were heavy spent 300 dollars on them brought them home to Anne arundel county and come to find out they were paper shells and extremely light very disappointed then called and they want me to bring them back and hold them in my fridge till I can get back up there which is 45 mins from my house. We called in for carry out this past Sunday. We saw they were about to close, so I asked if they could still take the order. They accepted. My daughter has an onion/garlic allergy and they were very accommodating. When I arrived, they confirmed with me about not using onion or garlic. They kept me informed on the status of my order. Everything turned out great and everyone was happy with their food. I appreciate them fitting our order in despite it being large and close to closing time. Seasoning on steamed crabs is excellent! However I have not always been pleased with size and price.

I'm not sure why this shop isn't rated. And although I'm giving it a 2 stars, it's definitely worth a trip. So, this is why it's getting 2 stars....the $1 crabs. Having just moved to the Balt area, we are becoming crab addicts. Not just the meat, but the whole shebang of deconstructing the crab and beating the hell out of it with the crab hammer. But here's the thing...we can't afford $75 every few days for a dozen crabs. So after my sashimi lunch, I ventured over to this shop to see what the deal was. The deal was $1 crabs. They're small crabs. And I couldn't figure out the size difference between them and the 12/$18 crabs. But I decided I'd blow $10 on 10 of these chumpies and if I didn't get a lot of crab meat I'd at least get the pleasure/pain of hot moist crab spice getting into unknown cuts on my hands. So I order them and wait....and wait....and wait. Seriously, I wait about 30 mins for these crabs. At about minute 20 I happen to ask if they're cooked with spice or if I had to ask for it (because I note the 12/$18 crabs are cooked with no spice). Oh, yeah, she tells me. They're cooked with spice. Sweet. I'm doing 70mph on Rt43 to get home and tear into these crabs. I. Am. Jonesin. What an effin disappointment!! I could have gotten a ticket for this BS. They're small, sure. I don't care about that. But I wait 30 mins for luke warm pre-cooked crabs that they threw dry spice onto. They were so bad, I wasn't sure if they threw the crabs into a steamer or into the microwave. The meat was mushy and the crab spice didn't stick to the crab. I NO UNDERSTAND! So, that made me think...is this what their other crabs taste like? read more

I ordered 2 fried fish platers and 1 cod platter. It was bland and had no flavor. Never again. The texture of cod tasted like I was chewing on wool. The trout was over fried and the steam veggies were cold. I do not recommend, unless you're into bland food. read more

I've been to Waterman's before and if not for my experience yesterday they would get a good 3.5 stars. They have pretty good crabs so I can't give 1 star! I've been here many times for crabs and will probably be here again. They aren't too far from where I live and have crabs year round. The food is normally ok. Yesterday I had the fish tacos...NEVER AGAIN!! It's been over 24 hours and I can't keep anything down! The tacos didn't taste good and had a pungent fish order as if it wasn't cleaned well. We ordered fish tacos(2), fried clam strips, backfin crab platter with macaroni salad and onions rings as the sides. This is not the 1st we've eaten from waterman's but the tacos ruined me eating food here for a LONG time! The crab cakes smelled fishy too! So much so I couldn't finish it! Waterman's Pride catered a crab feast on 8/21/15 at the Seven Oaks Senior Center. While the crabs were on the small side, they were full and heavy. The staff was attentive and kept the crabs coming. They did a great job clearing the shells and worked in a very professional manner. The additional food provided was rated delicious by everyone at our table. read more
