The French onion soup had very little broth and was overloaded with a thick layer of hardened cheese. Overall, the food tasted cheap and poorly prepared, yet the prices suggested otherwise. It felt like diner-quality food being sold at premium prices. What made the experience even more frustrating was the manager's response. He came to our table after hearing about our concerns, but instead of focusing on the quality issues we raised, he seemed more concerned that my husband refused to order a replacement meal. That spoke volumes about where the priorities were. The one bright spot was our server, who was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. No complaints regarding the server as he was extremely apologetic with our experience. To our surprise, the restaurant also added an automatic gratuity to our bill. Ironically, had that not been done, we likely would have tipped our server more because he was not the problem. The kitchen and management were. No, I didn't complain about the tip after I noticed it on our bill. We were over the experience and just wanted to pay and get the hell out of there. Save yourself the disappointment and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. We certainly wish we had. I watched them make the milkshake, which included hand scooped ice cream, strawberries, and strawberry syrup, which was then blended to perfection. They have me the milkshake glass, then the container they mixed the milkshake in that had extra ice cream--I basically got two milkshakes in one! The chips came out and were warm, well seasoned, and there was a TON of them. I liked the sweet and spicy combo of the Old Bay and Maple. They also have an old school jukebox, which is completely free to use. I chose a song and it played for the entire shop, so cool! We popped in for an early dinner on a Saturday night, arriving a little around 4:00 PM. Our friends had already arrived. Tammy, our server, had a table for us in just a few minutes. Tammy and Joyce have been with Samos for as long as I have been coming here. They both have great personalities and are very attentive to all of their customer's needs. Samos is a BYOB with a corkage fee, which was fine for us. We started with a cup of chicken noodle soup and a bowl of avgolemono soup (their classic Greek egg-lemon-chicken soup). For the main course, each couple shared the Souvlaki Platter with two skewers of steak accompanied by roasted vegetables, tzatziki, and a Greek salad with their famous house dressing, along with grilled pita wedges.
