We recently visited the White Marsh Silver Diner and they were slammed. We sat at the bar and a very nice young man named Will took excellent care of us. Service overall was a little slower than we've previously experienced, But the young man kept us informed and hydrated. Having previously worked in restaurants, I know that when it gets busy things can unravel quickly. Will kept his composure as did the other servers. I've been to Silver Diner a few times now, and I can honestly say the food has never failed me. I've tried both their breakfast and lunch, and everything has been consistently great. The quality, the flavor, and the presentation are always on point. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. The ambiance is also really nice. It definitely feels like a more upscale diner, not your typical diner experience. It's comfortable, clean, and just has a better overall vibe. Said the berries weren't distributed very well. Cake with eggs and bacon. They were filling, she said. I had the Bay Benedict. Delicious! 5/5. Crab cakes on top of each half of an English Muffin. Spinach, small amount of diced tomatoes and over easy eggs on top. All covered by a spicy hollandaise sauce. Excellent way to finish a quick trip to the Baltimore area before heading to the airport. My work team and I went here as part of our team outing. I got mine to go, due to timing. I enjoyed the Caramel French Toast with Strawberries, scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon. This was our first time at Silver Diner. Such a great spot for a family breakfast! The restaurant is very clean, open and comfortable. There were booths and tables to pick from. The bar area is big and bright. All the lighting gets an upscale vibe. The server was extremely friendly and accommodating to us. The food was fresh and delicious. I would definitely come back here. I actually liked the food but please see my photo of a side of fries. It's like 16 fries. Why did the serve so few? Why is it on a big plate like this? For $3.99! So many questions on the side of fries... Other than that, the patty melt was good, my friends got vegan food - they actually have a lot of options including vegan milkshakes. Silver Diner has been one of my favorite diners for years, so I was stoked when this White Marsh location opened just a short drive from home. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not feeling this location too tough. Service is good, but the food has been consistently unsatisfying. I've tried a variety of my favorites: chicken pot pie, fish and chips, warm veggie salad, appetizers... nothing seems good. Came here the other day with friend to try a new diner (we normally go to Double T). Surprised this place wasn't amazing. It was just okay. We did get seated immediately outside which was nice. Our server sucked, and there were teeny little hairs in multiple food items, and drinks took forever. Food was good though. My friends ordered a milkshake to go at the end and they just brought it not to go so we had to sit around while they drank the entire milkshake at the end after we were all done and paid. Wow! What a great diner in the heart of the avenue!! The atmosphere is not your typical diner but more of a "upscale diner" it's very nice inside with ample seating. I'd request the sunroom! It's a nice place to sit and let the sun shine in! Very spacious diner. They have a section for there bar area with tvs. Outside dining is available as well. The wait for a table wasn't too long. I started with my drink which was a guava mint ginger ale. You can definitely taste the ginger purée they put in there and it is very pulpy. Don't order it if you don't like pulp or see if the can strain it. My meal was the patty melt. It's a new item on the menu and definitely worth it. Visited Silver Dinner for the first time on a Friday afternoon. I wasn't expecting much given that diners aren't usual known for their aesthetic but Silver Diner was an exception. While diner-esque, the atmosphere is quite modern. Lots of natural light and comfortable booth seating as well. We were pleased to find that lunch specials are available until 4pm which is a nice treat. I ordered a pick two with a half salad and half sandwich. I added a side of sweet potato fries for $4.99 which was a regrettable decision given that the portion of fries on plate I was served was sad and lacking. The salad and sandwich tasted fresh. This is my second visit to this restaurant, and while my first experience was fantastic, with great food, fast service, and good drinks, my second visit left me a bit disappointed. My party of four ordered various breakfast dishes (all including scrambled eggs), and unfortunately, the eggs were a letdown. They tasted like they had been left under the warmer for too long. We also tried the maple chicken sausage, which was a disappointment. It tasted processed and lacked flavor. On a different note, I usually order alcoholic drinks at the beginning of my meal and my rule of thumb is that if they don't come out before the food, I don't need the drink. Unfortunately, my server's timing was off. The food came out and the drinks still hadn't been made. No Mango Mimosa for me. Overall, I wasn't impressed with my second visit. We walked in, hostess was very polite, we were seated near the back by the restrooms. We waited for roughly 15 minutes, our server never came to our table, not even once, no drink orders taken. Finally me and my mother just got up and left joking that they probably didn't even notice no one was at the table anymore. This is the third time I've had absolutely miserable service from this location, this time the restaurant was not busy at all so it was just inexcusable. Nice diner in a nice location! I've been here a few times, and the food is consistent. Menu is pretty extensive, and they have a variety of drinks. There are Lunch and Happy Hour specials. Sometimes, we sit in the bar area when we don't feel like waiting for a table. Service is decent. Desserts are good. We like walking around the Avenue after dinner. We stopped in for what we thought would be a quick dinner--but it ended up taking over 90 minutes. While we were seated immediately (tables were available, though booths were full), service was noticeably slow from the start. It took quite a while for anyone to greet us, and when we did finally order drinks, the Bloody Mary was sadly disappointing. We ordered chicken tenders as an appetizer and placed our entree orders at the same time. The tenders took a long time to arrive, and when they did, we still had no utensils or small plates. We ended up eating them without either. Our entrees came out shortly after we finished the appetizer, but again, we had to request basic things like utensils and water refills. My salad was served with the wrong dressing. My husband ordered a Reuben with extra sauerkraut and a side of pickles--neither of which were delivered. On a positive note, our kids ordered breakfast and were happy with their meals. After eating, we waited an unreasonably long time for the check. The first time I came was around Christmas time and again in summer, during the holidays, the restaurant was giving off winter wonderland and I love Christmas time. Not really what you would call a diner. Stopped here mostly because we thought it was a diner. Our waiter was joyful and nice, could have been a tad more attentive. The food selection was ok, but a little on the high side, but some of this is from the local area. Like the Exxon gas station in the same shopping center was almost $4 a gallon, most other places for gas were closer to the low $3's. And yes I know things are getting expensive. The melt I had was pretty good I really like the rye bread. My wife had a tuna melt and she enjoyed it. Since this location has opened it is always packed! We walked right in on a Saturday night and sat at the bar since regular tables had a 45 minute wait. A one and done for me, even though my food was pretty good. Our waitress clearly had somewhere else to be at 9pm. When we were assigned to her by the hostess, the waitress was verbally annoyed because she was close to the end of her shift. Unprofessional. While the waitress was generally kind to us throughout our rushed meal, she twice asked that we assist her in replacing refilled table condiments. This was her job - not ours. She reminded us twice more that we were her last table, and she wanted to get ahead of things so she could leave when we were done. That was kind of rude in my opinion. In any case, our kids enjoyed their meals, but I'm just not sure I'd return. We were enjoying a family night at D&B and wanted a quick bite after, so we drove to the avenue and the silver diner seemed like an ideal spot for everyone to get what they wanted. The kids ordered tenders and fries, waffles, bacon and eggs. They enjoyed it. I ordered the chicken pot pie. I had a craving and they nailed it. My husband ordered a cheesesteak and it was over salted. We told the waitress and she apologized but didn't offer an alternative (because again, sis was ready to go). His meal was a waste of money. Sad to have had this experience but I wish them well. Silver dollar parking is subject to the shopping center parking lots. I was lucky enough to get a spot right out front the first time but the second time I had to walk a little. It wasn't anything crazy. The wait both times was about 10-15 minutes. They are scary accurate in their predictions. Both times I went, my service was excellent. As a frequent diner visitor, the food met my expectations. It's your typical diner breakfast food. I do like the variety they offer. I know most won't agree but I do wish they had scrapple on the menu, otherwise I was pleased with my options. The highlight was the dessert. The peach pie and the apple are both amazing choices. Silver diner opened recently on the avenue and is already super popular. My husband and I came around 2pm on a Thursday and it still had a 20 minute wait, so we sat in the bar area. Service was great, our server was on top of it! We both got western omelets but customized them a bit and our orders came out correctly and quickly. I love when ingredients in omelets are chopped pretty small which they did! Super yummy omelet and I enjoyed the breakfast potatoes (though my husband thought they tasted more like dinner/entree potatoes vs breakfast). The only part that was disappointing was the biscuit. It was dry and crumbly - not great. Lastly I got a milkshake which was great but a tip - get the kids size! It's the same size, you just don't get the extra in the silver cup but that would've been better, I was so full. We'll definitely be back! After a long wait on a Sunday afternoon, we finally were guided to our booth. Really, we should have known better than to come here on a weekend, especially after church. Since the wait was so long, we browsed the menu while waiting. The purpose was to have our order ready when the server came to offer drinks. Figuring they were so busy, the food would take a while. Shortly after our drinks arrived, we had the food, wow! Totally impressed. My husband ordered the double meat ribeye cheesesteak sub. It was perfect with the meat spilling over the sides, it came with French fries and coleslaw. Oh, it came with a honey pepper sauce that was sweet and a bit of a kick. He shared it with me on the burger. Well, he ate 1/3rd of the sub, a total belly buster. The rest came home. I got the hamburger and added bacon and raw onion. It was ok at best. I suspect they have a low fat product, which does not taste as good as a higher fat meat. Service was phenomenal for as busy as they were, Tomi did a fantastic job, just enough attention. Dined a day after they opened so you can understand the employees are still "learning" about the hows of having actual diners in a somehow busy location. They're good in letting you know about this situation so expectations are set. If you do not have patience to wait, then wait a few more weeks or months. Most servers were uber friendly! They have a few outdoor seating, "veranda"-style and main dining hall. We were seated at the veranda and I should say, the air circulation was great because of the fans! Noise level was a little louder than usual though because it was kind of packed. Still, it's a good choice for group dining. Anyway, I noticed with diners they serve huge meal portions, like some food can be shared. That applies to this location. Enjoyed one meal from the special menu so I think I'll be ordering from that menu when I come back later. Kids meal esp the mac and cheese was soupy, which my daughter liked (actually me too! sorry no pic, you prolly know why). Some restos have corn in coleslaw, this diner is one of them.
