This is a solid breakfast option. The food is good, but not great, and is consistent in the way of chain restaurants. We popped in right at 7 one morning before work and actually beat the server and the hostess there. The staff was friendly and mostly left us alone but for frequent coffee refills, and the food was about what I expected from a restaurant that is basically a different version of IHOP. The bacon was thick and crispy and way better quality than anticipated and the over easy eggs were cooked perfectly, which is rare. The protein and buckwheat pancakes were nice surprises on the menu and were quite tasty. The neighborhood has a dearth of true weekday breakfast places, and this is a nice option. Ordering the Florentine Benadict fresh tomato, spinach, and the best hollandaise sauce I've tasted. It comes with a side of french toast, made with fresh brioche brought it daily from a Baltimore bakery. Thick cut and the center tasted like creamy custard, paired with homemade strawberry syrup and fresh whipped cream. We also tried the Shrimp Skillet, fresh jumbo shrimp on potatoes with avocado, spinach, peppers and two eggs your way. I swung by last Thursday morning after hearing great things about this restaurant. It was very quiet inside with only about 4 other parties seated. It took a little bit for us to flag someone down to be seated. The interior has a rustic diner feel. It almost felt like there was construction needed in some parts of the inside. The ceiling is covered in exposed pipes and some of the decor felt dated. There were both booths and tables to choose from. It looked like there used to be a bar inside but was clearly no longer in use. Our server said almost no words. Despite being mildly unfriendly, she did take our orders quickly. We ordered delivery from OPH over the weekend. The service was pretty quick and when the driver got here, the food was still pretty warm. I had the sausage biscuits and gravy, which came with a side of hash browns and a choice of pancakes: I got the pumpkin ones. The biscuits were good, the gravy was a little odd tasting, and the sausage is a patty on the biscuit rather than mixed into the gravy. Personally, I think the gravy could have had more seasoning (salt and pepper), but it was overall tasty and I ate the whole thing. A-maz-ing. I've been going since the soft opening several years ago. We tend to buy takeout more these days but it's still open for dine-in. The Dutch Baby is decadent, and large enough to fill even a hungry stomach. As a dish to share it's great... fun to create (you mix in the ingredients in the middle at the table) and easy to share. The omelets are huge! The veggie omelet is chock full of well cooked tasty veggies. I usually get the cheese omelet but i tried the Mediterranean omelet recently and it was pretty darn tasty as well. The banana pancakes are batter mixed with banana... not just banana and egg. Just FYI since some people are used to not much flour/batter in banana pancakes. The standard buttermilk pancakes are fantastic as well. The toast is well prepared, but it's still just toast. If your entree gives an option for the pancakes or toast, get the pancake The chicken crepes are savory and tasty. The potato pancakes paired well with the dish. The bacon is great - but we prefer them extra crispy. The home fries are cooked to a soft consistency... but you can order them crispy if you want. The hashbrowns are decent, and also can be ordered extra crispy. The fries are the best potato option by far. The coffee is 'ok'... they now have dairy free creamers! To go orders are packaged well. They separate the home fries from the omelets and pancakes so they don't get soggy. Update 4: Obviously I come here ALOT. You should as well. This only happens to me: I walk in and I'm standing by the front door. This gorgeous woman is walking towards me. She smiles and says hi. I say, one please. I follow her and she was a customer! I start laughing, small talk happens and finally someone escorts me to a booth. Once I'm seated, it's go time. Coffee is poured and my order is placed. Pecan pancakes with sausage. While I'm waiting for my breakfast, The Original Pancake House looks like it needs a refreshing. Dark woods and an empty, dusty bar isn't very inviting. But it seems the place is jumpin' with lots of customers. My food comes to the table. I'm told there are two syrups, one is tropical fruit and the other is warm syrup. Put it all together and that was one tasty way to start my day. Warm, comfort food at its finest. The slogan is, pancakes as you like them. My breakfast was really good, I'm glad I stopped in. This is a re-review to start with. This place is just wonderful to visit, the last visit was really good and this one was no exception. Started with the coffee, a bottomless cup that was just right. My husband had the Meatlovers omelet, it was beyond huge and none of the meat was skimped on, plus it had a core of molten cheddar cheese. This came with a side of choice, he chose the home fries, also fresh and hot and a good sized serving of them. I had the seniors French toast meal with 2 sausage links and scrambled eggs. Customer service was great. I can't remember our server's name but she was nice and knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered a the Georgia Pecan Pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were thin but tasty. They came with tropical syrup, which I didn't enjoy at all. It was fruity and had chunks of what I believe were pineapples in it. The pancakes were much better with the plain syrup. The bacon (not pictured) was cooked to perfection IMO- it wasn't too crispy. (Saw Swedish pancakes and Crepes) We ordered a couple of the Two by Two by Three. Hash Browns and Home Fries were tasty and the special recipe sausage was excellent. Pancakes were fluffy and classic buttermilk pancakes didn't disappoint. The chocolate chip pancakes were over the top! They are located in the can company building with a dedicated parking lot which makes it very easy to get to. Very kid friendly, and the inside is very open and airy. As a lover of breakfast foods, Original Pancake House (OPH) was on my list of places to dine at. I came in around 1 pm on a Wednesday afternoon and it was pretty empty (as I expected). As soon as I sat at my table, one of the first things I realized was that the salt or pepper bottles were empty. Knowing that the servers must clean the tables after each customer, it surprises my that no one cared to refill/replace these essential bottles. Even worse, the table right next to me also had no salt and pepper in the bottles. That aside, I ordered a vanilla iced coffee ($2.99). There were free refills, which was great. When the ice coffee came out, it looked watery from all the melted ice, but to my surprise, actually tasted pretty good. I also appreciated that they give your milk or cream in a little pourer so you can add as much as you want to your own liking. I also ordered the Coconut pancake (3 for $6.99). The pancakes were topped with slightly toasted coconut shreds which always adds a nice texture. The pancakes itself were delicious. They were fluffy and had a subtle coconut flavor to them by itself. The pancakes also came with whipped butter, maple syrup, and a tropical sauce, which was reminiscent of an orange marmalade, with a bitter taste from the orange rinds - personally, not my favorite... I had also ordered the Eggs Benedict with a side of home fries ($11.99). To me, I feel like they sprinted salt over the home fries, so some parts were extremely salt, while others were tolerable. The poached egg was only slightly overcooked, but honestly nothing to complain about since it was still runny and I know it can be difficult to poach an egg just right. What really got to me was the hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise sauce lacked the acidity to pair with the richness of the egg and the Canadian bacon. In fact, what really threw me off, was an onion flavor in the sauce... On the other hand, the service was great. The server was very kind and welcoming. She even let me take an ice coffee to go. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. The prices were very acceptable. This is a nice place to go out for brunch with your friends and/or family. For food, I had the meat lovers omelette. It was definitely FILLED with meat and it was HUGEEE as you can see in the pic. My sister had the strawberry French toast, which was OK. French Toast could have been a bit more hot though. I got a biscuit just to try, HUGEEE in size but was dry. Wouldn't get that again either. We also had the pecan pancakes. Those were great! I ordered the avocado toast and she even brought me a cup of fruit because it took a little longer than the rest of my friends meals. Unfortunately, the food was very under seasoned for my taste. I felt the need to add salt and pepper to the majority of my food in order to enjoy it to the fullest extent. In addition, the avocado toast was advertised as being on ciabatta bread, but it came on a hoagie roll which was a little peculiar. The home fries had a nice crisp to them and my friends did enjoy their pancakes. They were fluffy and satisfying. The chocolate chips were the perfect amount of melty which was super yum.
