I like how they have a whole section on the wine menu from the local Old Westminster Winery! The Smashburger was decent, but it was too overcooked. I would've liked it more on the medium side, but they don't really give you an option for that. When Sally O's announced they were opening for Sunday Brunch, my friends and I were just like "take my money!" We patron Sally O's somewhat often and absolutely love their food so we were very excited to experience brunch. We made an 11 am reservation just to be safe. Our server, Natalie, was very kind, warm, attentive, and made some great recommendations. We started by splitting the mushroom toast and cheese curds. Both were phenomenal. The trout roe on the cheese curds brought so much amazing flavor. The mushroom toast was heaped with delicious mushrooms and there was a very favorable cream sauce. I went with the lemon ricotta Dutch baby. This thing was a monster but so delicious. The lemon curd with the blueberries that burst with eat bite was amazing. My friends got the chimichangas and the French onion Benedict. Both looked incredibly delicious. As always the service and ambience were great! I've never had a bad experience at Sally O's. I'm not usually a gin fan but the Murder Hornet was fantastic! We started with the Sally's Mac and Cheese and Carnitas Quesa-Tacos. This spot is so cute! I'm not sure what took me so long to come here. The inside is bright and colorful with fun decorations. The dining area is pretty small with a few tables, one booth, and a bar. They also have some outdoor seating as well. I would describe the menu as elevated bar food. Definitely some hearty options as well as a few salads. On this particular night, they had some specials which looked delicious as well. We got the caesar salad and the wings. The caesar had shaved brussels sprouts and cubed butternut squash making it a really unique take on a caesar. It was delicious - I loved the crunchiness of the brussels. The wings were slathered in a combination sauce of buttermilk, garlic and herbs, green buffalo sauce, and a peruvian yellow sauce. There was a lot of flavors going on! They were good but a little odd. I would've loved the choice to choose one of those sauces as opposed to having them all compete with each other. The service was friendly and fairly fast as well. I hadn't been to Sally O's in a little while, but man am I happy I went back! They have added to their menu and there is now more to choose from which is great. My husband and I got a little seat inside and the atmosphere is still wonderful. Our server was really sweet and attentive and you could tell the staff is happy to be there. My husband and I split their wings, smoked duck sandwich ($22) and steak frites entree ($55) and WOW!!! Seriously the best food we've had out in a whiiiiile. They said they're adding the sandwich to the menu because it's so delicious. Both portions were wonderful for the price which I was relieved to see. Everything was so flavorful and we can't wait to go back. Also major plus is that they have NAs on their drink menu that don't suck and are actually good which I appreciated a lot since you don't see that everywhere. Sally O's is a small spot in Highlandtown. It was open during the pandemic shutdown by a Top Chef alum and made it through. It was definitely on my carryout rotation of restaurants to support . Now to the food and drink. Sally O's has their old fashioned on tap. I almost feel like I can stop there but I will go on. They have other innovative and tasty cocktails. My favorite dish is the CrabOnara. Yup that is carbonara (one my favorite dishes period) with crab. The pasta is perfect and the creaminess of the sauce along with an egg ranks with any Italian restaurant. The Smash Burger is a very popular dish. I know everyone has a smash burger now but Sally O's was the first restaurant I remember having one. The best way to describe it is an elevated In and Out Burger-double double monster style. The hash browns pictured seem like they would be simple but to think of putting caviar and sour cream on them is really a game changer. It's the perfect combination you didn't know could exist. The regular steak is a 12oz ribeye, dry aged for 28 days with frites and green beans. The steak for two is 32oz!! You are asked for temperature and I will die on the only temperature is Medium Rare hill. At the temperature, this steak melts in your mouth. All the bartenders are super fun. You can tell theyre all friends and most people that come to this bar are locals, so it's was a great environment both times we went. 4.5 I visited Sally O's for the first time 8/27 for their bday cookout and school supply drive. If one paid to attend this event, food was included and if one brought an approved school supply item, they got one free drink ticket. I thought that was a good deal, so I arrived with 2 backpacks, and received 2 drink tickets. The inside of the bar is fine, unassuming. It's a narrow space with a bar running along one side, high top tables for 4 on the other, and enough space in between for a person to walk without bumping into anything. The food for the event was outside and there were a mix of sides and grilled pulled pork for the main protein. I was VERY impressed with the food. The potato salad was awesome, as was a cucumber salad, specialty bbq sauce, and just plain sliced heirloom tomatoes. And the pork was very tasty. The only drawback was my drink ticket didn't cover any drinks I was interested in drinking. Plus, Sally Os doesn't carry my drink of choice (High Noon), which was a bummer, but I did ok with another lightweight canned beverage. The servers and bartenders made me feel seen and taken care of, so an excellent experience overall. I don't go to this neighborhood often, but when I return I'll be sure to stop by. read more

The service was also top notch; everyone was so friendly and attentive. To start, we ordered drinks and the Tempura Asparagus appetizer. I do not remember Jesse Sandin on Top Chef but when I heard a top chef alum had taken over a beloved neighborhood bar, we had to try it. I was expecting a dark, older looking bar, but Sally O's is bright and cheery, with funky decor. The seating in some areas is tight. We were placed at a table for two right on the way to the bathroom, almost on top of another table, and it as pretty squishy. The food is a combination of upscale bar food and simply innovate creations. As a starter we shared the soup of the day and the Carnitas Tacos - king of greasy, but good.
