Popped in here for the Very Millenial Christmas pop up bar and was not disappointed. They have decorated their 2nd floor bar with nostalgic Christmas decorations and chachkis and it's all very silly and wonderful (as all christmas pop ups should be). It is first come first serve to be sure. I got Buddys candy cane Cocoa ( a nod to Buddy the Elf) which just hit the spot on a cold winter night. I also sprang the extra five bucks for it to be served in the commemorative mug you get to take home. Also ordered some nachos and my bf got some grilled cheese and tomato soup. Surprised that I have never done a review for this place especially because I go so often so I figured I'd do something now lol. Since I have moved to Federal Hill in Baltimore, this has become one of my go to spots for brunch and for a good burger and beer during the week From the awesome bartenders to different kinds of drinks that match the season two new dishes on the menu they always have something new for me to try there. Prices are extremely reasonable and I'm certain days they have happy hour all day. They are also one of the few places in federal Hill that has happy hour on the weekends after brunch. Great service and food. There is a lot of space which makes it the perfect place to watch a game or have a good bite to eat. Shared the Tuna nachos with two of my friends and it was the perfect amount for the three of us. Great tuna portions and not too spicy. A very good hang out food and drink option in fed hill. Came here with some friends who live in the neighborhood and left with a fully belly and smile. The location is easy to walk to in fedhill and the space is pretty spacious on the inside. 2 floors of seating. Ended up seated in the back of the first floor which was nice. It wasn't a packed night but nice and chill enough to get dinner with friends and have a conversation where we could hear each other. Service was fast and friendly. Drinks selection was on par with most of the nicer spots in fedhill. The food for the price was good. Got wings, cheese steak egg rolls and a smash burger which were all delicious. The wings were ok. The egg rolls were meaty and juicy and crispy on the outside one of my favs. The smash burger was juicy and big with a buttery delicious brioche bun. We went to AJs on a football Saturday night. It wasn't too busy downstairs compared to other places. We sat in the back, downstairs. The TV was definitely too small to really enjoy watching the game from the back of the room. The food was great and our server was attentive. Although I wouldn't recommend the French soup. The bread that came with it was really good and buttery but the onions weren't cooked and caramelized enough and we thought it needed more cheese. The crunch wrap was good. It was nice and refreshing, not too heavy. It definitely was not overflowing with chicken. Pulled steak grilled cheese was also good. Maybe a little dry with certain bites of meat but otherwise it has juices and sauce. Overall, chill vibes, attentive server, and pretty good food. If you're looking for tasty drinks + affordable prices this is the bar for you. I would say that this bar gives more of a laid back vibe. It's perfect for coming with friends or dates! I arrived around 9:30 pm on a Saturday night with one of my friends (who is a bartender here). Everyone who works here was super polite and friendly! They're also great bartenders! The drinks came out quickly too. I ordered the Cool Bean drink which is basically equivalent to an espresso martini. The drink had a strong espresso taste which masked the taste of alcohol (which I liked). Definitely worth a try if you're into Espresso Martinis. I highly recommend Aj' s on Hanover to everyone. The layout of the place was novel. Their dining is on the first floor, and their kitchen is in the basement. They have multiple large TV screens. Prices were acceptable. Was gonna rate this a 4, but am taking a star off, because they gave me 2.5% credit card processing fee. If they're gonna do that, they should have signs on their walls saying they should be paid in cash. You really could avoid this problem if you were willing to accept cryptocurrency like Litecoin and Dash, which I could have provided. read more

We ordered a couple of different things to share. I got the crabcake burger and that was absolutely amazing. Super meaty crab, thick patty. They didn't put too much sauce on it to not overpower the crab, and I really appreciated that. We also got the short rib grilled cheese and that thing was so bomb. Absolutely delicious. The grilled brussels sprouts as an appetizer was good too. Although a little pricey. Service was extremely slow, took a very long time for us to get our food. Also our drinks was not refilled, and we didn't really see our server. He was very nice but we just didn't get much of our requests filled. Overall I definitely come back for the food. We arrived as they opened and there were a few groups already there. We sat at a high top inside. The waitresses were severing patrons from behind the bar; very friendly and fast. I tried the cold brew cocktail, boy could I have drank 20 of these they were so good. The smooth, chocolatey, velvet coffee concoction was flowing. My wife and I started with the breakfast egg rolls- so crunchy and stuffed with sausage and cheesy eggs! My favorite item and a smart starter. I wrapped up my breakfast with a mimosa and the breakfast Mac. The cheesiest mac and cheese with sausage, bacon, egg and two has browns on top! Bomb dot com. Great/unique food and huge portions. My boyfriend and I got 2 appetizers and 2 entrees to go. Everything we ordered was very impressive! The whole menu featured some unique foods for South Baltimore and the portions were big! To start we got the crab cake eggrolls, these were incredible and a must get. They were a little "pricey" at $20 for 2 Eggrolls but if you think about how much a crab cake is, I would say they were stuffed with crab and the value was worth it. We got a side of the truffle fries, which were delicious and sprinkled with Parmesan. To-go fries can be tough as they get a little soft/soggy but we put these in the oven for a few minutes at home and they were perfect. Also a huge portion of fries. The standout entree for me was the cheesesteak! Look at that photo, it was absolutely gigantic and was 3 meals for me!! Not only was it huge but it was delicious. The steak was tender and juicy, smothered in provolone cheese, and the garlic pepper aioli was a nice tasty twist. I would get this again, but maybe split it ha! The Buffalo chicken panini was pretty good but the least exceptional part of the meal in comparison to everything else. The whole meal was ready in about 25 mins and was neatly packaged in boxes and tied bags. I will be back!! read more

The bacon was nice and crispy and nothing in the wrap was soggy. The macaroni and cheese was fantastic. But it was a little rich for me to finish the whole plate on top of the wrap. I have been passing by this place for months without going in, but I finally went a couple times! I'm glad I did. The drinks are creative, they have a lot of cool crush variations. My favorite is the key lime pie crush. I'm not usually a "fusion" egg roll type person but they've converted me with their cheesesteak egg rolls. I also went for their truffle Mac & cheese, which is one of the best I've tried in Baltimore. I was very pleased! My boyfriend had the short rib grilled cheese and loved it as well. I visited this morning for the first time as my husband wanted to take me out to brunch for my birthday. This place was recommended by a local food blogger. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server informed us that the brunch menu was currently being served and we used the QR code in the middle of the table to see the menu. We decided upon our food. He ordered the pancake short stack with scrambled eggs and bacon. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of home fries. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time but his order was incorrect. The dish incorrectly had french toast instead of pancakes. Seeking to be amenable and because he did not wish to wait longer, he decided to try the french toast. He said the food tasted decent but had room for improvement. I received the home fries first and thrice requested a side of ketchup from two different staff members. Never received the ketchup. When the chicken and waffles arrived, I was VERY disappointed. It is not an understatement to say the chicken tenders were over fried, oily and lacked any form of SEASONING. The manager and server did come over to address the issue and took it off of the bill. That is the only reason that this review does not have a lower rating because that dish left MUCH to be desired. It seems to be a gamble with the food quality. I may give them a try for dinner but currently unsure. read more

Crab egg rolls: much too salty to enjoy the taste Cheese steak: tasty, but messy as if who ever did the order was in a rush and smacked it on the roll quickly than shut the slid. It was everywhere and we made sure it transported on a flat surface so it would not tilt or move when driving. Crab cake: was nothing as advertised. They post pictures of a broiled crab cake but this was clearly fried on a skillet (marylanders can spot this guys!!). The meat was also shredded so fine and not the chunks you see in pictures which made it a mushy mess to taste. It appeared smashed down with the back end of a spatula and made into this flat disc that had uncooked sides. Crab soup: again, the advertisement shows there are large chunks in it, so as marylanders we expect this and go out of our way to have this. That was not the case. The crab was shredded and it really lacked that taste of crab in it making it more of a beef veggie soup instead. Over all we felt really let down and we were so excited to try them for the first time. Even if this was take out, more care should be given to this as everyone is a paying customer here. read more
