Solid local joint with a nice patio / vibes. My burger was pretty good. Although not perfectly juicy the cheese and sauce were very tasty. The fries disappointed due to being under fried and thus a little soggy / not crispy. read more

Solid food, severely understaffed. Arrived on a Saturday night to find only 3 bartenders on staff for a fully sat restaurant (including 2 floors and outside area). The service was friendly, but staff was clearly overwhelmed. We waited about 50 minutes for our food. The California BLT was great, but I wouldn't say great enough to return again for the wait. Be patient, kind, and know it may take a while to receive your drinks. read more

Love this spot for a casual dinner or bottomless drinks brunch. The food is really good- they offer both dinner and breakfast crunchwraps. My absolute favorite was the pancake tacos... drooling thinking about them (pancakes are not dry at all) Also the pretzel bites with cheese are a group favorite! Always nice when you can switch up your drinks for bottomless too. Service was good and drinks came out fast but they did forget my side salad, they were apologetic and the caesar was really good! Bartenders had great personalities. Would come back for brunch. read more

Great food, great service, and great vibes all around. I got the buffalo chicken egg rolls and the breakfast crunch wrap - 10/10 for both dishes. The patrons are friendly and the bartenders make sure you stay hydrated (iykyk lol). I recommend getting bottomless instead of a pitcher if you're trying to drink. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Popped in here for the Very Millenial Christmas pop up bar and was not disappointed. They have decorated their 2nd floor bar with nostalgic Christmas decorations and chachkis and it's all very silly and wonderful (as all christmas pop ups should be). It is first come first serve to be sure. I got Buddys candy cane Cocoa ( a nod to Buddy the Elf) which just hit the spot on a cold winter night. I also sprang the extra five bucks for it to be served in the commemorative mug you get to take home. Also ordered some nachos and my bf got some grilled cheese and tomato soup. All in all a nice experience at AJ's. Oh they also take a polaroid of you if you're seated at the bar for their Polaroid wall for the pop up. read more

Surprised that I have never done a review for this place especially because I go so often so I figured I'd do something now lol. Since I have moved to Federal Hill in Baltimore, this has become one of my go to spots for brunch and for a good burger and beer during the week From the awesome bartenders to different kinds of drinks that match the season two new dishes on the menu they always have something new for me to try there. Prices are extremely reasonable and I'm certain days they have happy hour all day. They are also one of the few places in federal Hill that has happy hour on the weekends after brunch. If you're in the area and are looking to just grab a beer or a cocktail by yourself or with a group, this is definitely a good spot. read more

Restaurant Week, we Love You !! I chose this establishment for RW week for a group of 8. Well, 4 made it. Parking was daggone near impossible but worth the fight. Upon walking in the establishment, great views and very welcoming. Great service by several staff members. Our most helpful staff member was Lincoln. He was very kind and humble. Soft spoken and helpful. Collectively, we ordered the following. Prixe Fix $40pp Crab Ragoon : Delish!! Great size, perfectly stuffed. Shrimp Carbonara : Great dish !! Greatly portioned, well plated, and great flavor. Chocolate Molten Lava Cake : Great size, warm and yummy rich. Prixe Fix $40pp Buffalo Brussels : Very good, great flavor, a little too Buffalo saucy. Peruvian Salmon : Well plated, a little overcooked, and could have used more flavor. Broccoli was a little overcooked. Rice... DELISH !! Soooo tasty. Chocolate Molten Lava Cake : Great size, warm and yummy rich. Smash Burger : Delicious, fulfilling, Long Island : Strong!! A great concoction. Buffalo Chicken Mac : So so. Dry. Blueberry Mojito Mocktail : Refreshingly perfect. Perfect amount of all ingredients. We really enjoyed our time spent at AJ's on Hanover and are already making plans to return. read more

Wow, impressively bad food and service. We came in at noon on Sunday for brunch. On their website they claim "Scratch kitchen." That is an absolute lie. My wife ordered the Country Breakfast - biscuit was stale, sausage gravy separated, fried eggs were undercooked (runny whites), the list goes on. My blueberry pancakes weren't worth eating (and I don't believe in food waste). Several times I had to walk to the bar to request service because our waitress was sitting at the bar with friends. My advice: avoid at all costs. Silver lining: the mimosas weren't bad, but how can you mess up a mimosa? read more

Great service and food. There is a lot of space which makes it the perfect place to watch a game or have a good bite to eat. Shared the Tuna nachos with two of my friends and it was the perfect amount for the three of us. Great tuna portions and not too spicy. I also had the steak street tacos, which were filling after two, however, a little too spicy for my taste. This place is a lot of fun and worth checking out. They do fun events like candle making as well. read more

A very good hang out food and drink option in fed hill. Came here with some friends who live in the neighborhood and left with a fully belly and smile. The location is easy to walk to in fedhill and the space is pretty spacious on the inside. 2 floors of seating. Ended up seated in the back of the first floor which was nice. It wasn't a packed night but nice and chill enough to get dinner with friends and have a conversation where we could hear each other. Service was fast and friendly. Drinks selection was on par with most of the nicer spots in fedhill. The food for the price was good. Got wings, cheese steak egg rolls and a smash burger which were all delicious. The wings were ok. The egg rolls were meaty and juicy and crispy on the outside one of my favs. The smash burger was juicy and big with a buttery delicious brioche bun. Definitely left full and happy and will gladly come back. read more

Came for happy hour to enjoy the warm weather. I will say that out of all the spots in fed hill, AJs has the most outdoor seating which is awesome. I had the Chicken Bacon Ranch Crunchwrap which was so delicious. This is one of their specialities and it hits. I will say it's quite large and good item to split with someone. The jalapeño margarita was the right amount of spice and tasty to sip on. Plus it comes with a fun ice cube! Overall a good time, vibes are great and so is the service. Definitely a good choice for happy hour and catching up with friends. read more

Nice atmosphere with great burgers and mac and cheese. Serve is friendly. Definitely returning!

We went to AJs on a football Saturday night. It wasn't too busy downstairs compared to other places. We sat in the back, downstairs. The TV was definitely too small to really enjoy watching the game from the back of the room. The food was great and our server was attentive. Although I wouldn't recommend the French soup. The bread that came with it was really good and buttery but the onions weren't cooked and caramelized enough and we thought it needed more cheese. The crunch wrap was good. It was nice and refreshing, not too heavy. It definitely was not overflowing with chicken. Pulled steak grilled cheese was also good. Maybe a little dry with certain bites of meat but otherwise it has juices and sauce. Overall, chill vibes, attentive server, and pretty good food. I'll certainly return to try some other menu items and check out happy hour deals. read more

If you're looking for tasty drinks + affordable prices this is the bar for you. I would say that this bar gives more of a laid back vibe. It's perfect for coming with friends or dates! I arrived around 9:30 pm on a Saturday night with one of my friends (who is a bartender here). Everyone who works here was super polite and friendly! They're also great bartenders! The drinks came out quickly too. I ordered the Cool Bean drink which is basically equivalent to an espresso martini. The drink had a strong espresso taste which masked the taste of alcohol (which I liked). Definitely worth a try if you're into Espresso Martinis. I highly recommend Aj' s on Hanover to everyone. It's a great place for socializing and also for great drinks. I can't wait to come back and try their food menu! read more

Food was delicious! Good portion size. Service was extremely slow. Came here for dinner one night with a group of friends, the place was reasonably busy on a weekday night. We ordered a couple of different things to share. I got the crabcake burger and that was absolutely amazing. Super meaty crab, thick patty. They didn't put too much sauce on it to not overpower the crab, and I really appreciated that. We also got the short rib grilled cheese and that thing was so bomb. Absolutely delicious. The grilled brussels sprouts as an appetizer was good too. Although a little pricey. Service was extremely slow, took a very long time for us to get our food. Also our drinks was not refilled, and we didn't really see our server. He was very nice but we just didn't get much of our requests filled. Overall I definitely come back for the food. And I'm really curious about the brunch that they serve here. Those crab cake egg Benedict's looks amazing. read more

Waiter was nice. They got an item on my order wrong, but apologized and quickly corrected it. Got fish tacos, fries, and chicken tenders, all of at least acceptable quality. The layout of the place was novel. Their dining is on the first floor, and their kitchen is in the basement. They have multiple large TV screens. Prices were acceptable. Was gonna rate this a 4, but am taking a star off, because they gave me 2.5% credit card processing fee. If they're gonna do that, they should have signs on their walls saying they should be paid in cash. You really could avoid this problem if you were willing to accept cryptocurrency like Litecoin and Dash, which I could have provided. read more

Great/unique food and huge portions. My boyfriend and I got 2 appetizers and 2 entrees to go. Everything we ordered was very impressive! The whole menu featured some unique foods for South Baltimore and the portions were big! To start we got the crab cake eggrolls, these were incredible and a must get. They were a little "pricey" at $20 for 2 Eggrolls but if you think about how much a crab cake is, I would say they were stuffed with crab and the value was worth it. We got a side of the truffle fries, which were delicious and sprinkled with Parmesan. To-go fries can be tough as they get a little soft/soggy but we put these in the oven for a few minutes at home and they were perfect. Also a huge portion of fries. The standout entree for me was the cheesesteak! Look at that photo, it was absolutely gigantic and was 3 meals for me!! Not only was it huge but it was delicious. The steak was tender and juicy, smothered in provolone cheese, and the garlic pepper aioli was a nice tasty twist. I would get this again, but maybe split it ha! The Buffalo chicken panini was pretty good but the least exceptional part of the meal in comparison to everything else. The whole meal was ready in about 25 mins and was neatly packaged in boxes and tied bags. I will be back!! read more

Not sure how this place is rated so mediocre on Yelp. This place is the bomb!!! So many great menu opportunities for breakfast/brunch. My wife and I visited AJ's Sunday morning before a ravens game. We arrived as they opened and there were a few groups already there. We sat at a high top inside. The waitresses were severing patrons from behind the bar; very friendly and fast. I tried the cold brew cocktail, boy could I have drank 20 of these they were so good. The smooth, chocolatey, velvet coffee concoction was flowing. My wife and I started with the breakfast egg rolls- so crunchy and stuffed with sausage and cheesy eggs! My favorite item and a smart starter. I wrapped up my breakfast with a mimosa and the breakfast Mac. The cheesiest mac and cheese with sausage, bacon, egg and two has browns on top! Bomb dot com. Would eat that every morning if it wouldn't make me gain weight lol. This place was fantastic and we will be back. So much more to try on the menu! read more

I have been passing by this place for months without going in, but I finally went a couple times! I'm glad I did. The drinks are creative, they have a lot of cool crush variations. My favorite is the key lime pie crush. I'm not usually a "fusion" egg roll type person but they've converted me with their cheesesteak egg rolls. I also went for their truffle Mac & cheese, which is one of the best I've tried in Baltimore. I was very pleased! My boyfriend had the short rib grilled cheese and loved it as well. I came here for a friend's birthday celebration and was not expecting the food to be this good! The AJ's wrap was well done and came with a generous amount of bacon and salmon. The bacon was nice and crispy and nothing in the wrap was soggy. The macaroni and cheese was fantastic. But it was a little rich for me to finish the whole plate on top of the wrap. Their drinks here are also reasonably priced and tastes great. My favorites are the Key Lime and the watermelon cucumber crush. Their green tea shots are also so tasty! read more

I visited this morning for the first time as my husband wanted to take me out to brunch for my birthday. This place was recommended by a local food blogger. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server informed us that the brunch menu was currently being served and we used the QR code in the middle of the table to see the menu. We decided upon our food. He ordered the pancake short stack with scrambled eggs and bacon. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of home fries. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time but his order was incorrect. The dish incorrectly had french toast instead of pancakes. Seeking to be amenable and because he did not wish to wait longer, he decided to try the french toast. He said the food tasted decent but had room for improvement. I received the home fries first and thrice requested a side of ketchup from two different staff members. Never received the ketchup. When the chicken and waffles arrived, I was VERY disappointed. It is not an understatement to say the chicken tenders were over fried, oily and lacked any form of SEASONING. The manager and server did come over to address the issue and took it off of the bill. That is the only reason that this review does not have a lower rating because that dish left MUCH to be desired. It seems to be a gamble with the food quality. I may give them a try for dinner but currently unsure. read more

We had the tastiest crab Mac and cheese with bacon, broiled to a light crisp which added a smoky flavor. The fish tacos with fresh pineapple salsa were sweet and tangy. The pretzel bites with cheese were baked to perfection and the salt added a zing to the cheese. The staff were delightful! Nice neighborhood bar feel with tasty cocktails. The blackberry bourbon smash was sweet, refreshing and easy to drink. The orange creamsicle crush with whipped cream was delicious, but the key lie crush with whip creams was phenomenal--the perfect dessert in 100 degree heat. A refreshing summer meal!! read more

Crab egg rolls: much too salty to enjoy the taste Cheese steak: tasty, but messy as if who ever did the order was in a rush and smacked it on the roll quickly than shut the slid. It was everywhere and we made sure it transported on a flat surface so it would not tilt or move when driving. Crab cake: was nothing as advertised. They post pictures of a broiled crab cake but this was clearly fried on a skillet (marylanders can spot this guys!!). The meat was also shredded so fine and not the chunks you see in pictures which made it a mushy mess to taste. It appeared smashed down with the back end of a spatula and made into this flat disc that had uncooked sides. Crab soup: again, the advertisement shows there are large chunks in it, so as marylanders we expect this and go out of our way to have this. That was not the case. The crab was shredded and it really lacked that taste of crab in it making it more of a beef veggie soup instead. Over all we felt really let down and we were so excited to try them for the first time. Even if this was take out, more care should be given to this as everyone is a paying customer here. read more
