The Copper Shark is a terrific restaurant and bar in Locust Point Baltimore with well-crafted foods, cocktails, and spirits. We were generously hosted here by friends for a birthday celebration! (Sep 2026). The bar and indoor seating felt dark and intimate, yet open enough for our semi-casual get-together. We chose a curved booth among the tables. There's outdoor seating in back, too. The beverage list is creative and fun. We loved the sweet smooth non-alcoholic Classic Espresso Martini. A bourbon-y tart bitter sweet Paper Plane, of bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino Quintessential bitters, and lemon. And a dramatic balanced potent Wild Turkey 101 Smoked Manhattan, presented in a wooden chest full of richly aromatic smoke. We had a sweet non-alcoholic Peachy Keen, lightly smokey and lightly bitter peach, honey, and lemon, with orange bitters. At least five of the regular cocktails have non-alcoholic versions, and their Spirit-Free menu has six more. The appetizers and mains are so deliciously savory! Their Ploughman's Son charcuterie was varied and generous, with sturdy flavorful shaved jamon, a thin-sliced tangy salami, chunks of a dense orange medium-bold cheese, crisp grilled bread, and a deep maroon three-berry jam. We added a luscious pillow of buttery burrata. The vegan Mezze Platter had a spread of simple hummus and chickpeas with lightly roasted tahini dressing. Roasted Beet Salad was pieces of sweet clean red and gold beets with citrus chunks, lightly dressed with white balsamic. And a generous hot cast-iron pan of my Spirit-Vegetable: pork-bellied, sweet-salted sesame-vinaigrette-ed, sriracha-aioli-ed Crispy Brussels Sprouts! I aspire to be cultivated away from bitterness to sweetness, as Brussels sprouts were by Hans van Doorn in the '90s, "first" bacon-y spicy roasted by Momofuku's David Chang around 2004, and called "trendy" by 2012. (Let's see how trendy I am in 20 years :-) From the child's menu, we chose a lightly-mayo-ed grilled-cheese on lightly toasty light bread, with a tall cone of hot crispy, thin fries. We all dove into the fries, which were kindly shared :-). The Braised crumbled-Duck Bolognese was rich with Boursin cheese and parmesan, over long thin very-slurpable capellini-like black-pepper noodles, dressed with a little greenery. Crispy Rockfish was oven-roasted with fresh bright cherry tomatoes, under a light complementary miso beurre blanc. The half-rack of Smoked BBQ Ribs were tenderly grilled to a thin crust of Sagamore Old-Fashioned sauce, perfectly done with just a little bite remaining, the way I strive for at home, with a crunchy side of bright apple-fennel slaw. For the last here, I saved one of the Copper Shark Prime Cuts: Lamb Chops, with lightly-crisped fingerling potatoes, grilled broccolini, and a thin savory Housemade steak sauce. I have to tell you, the chef-recommendation of medium-rare doneness was right on. This was the most tender juicy sweet lamb I have ever tasted. Period. The cream-filled chocolate-sauced profiterole cream-puff with a candle was our birthday cake. The ice-cream espresso affogato was dreamy. The chefs are clearly caring, and dedicated to a delicious dining and drinking experience. The staff is welcoming and professional. We were well taken care of. Tucked into a cluster of shops, this restaurant is easy to find and has plenty of parking. I highly recommend The Copper Shark as something of a splurge destination for excellent dining and good service in an intimate semi-casual setting. read more

A couple of Saturdays ago we arrived and were seated around 3pm which is evidently right between the end of brunch and not quite dinner which starts at 4pm. Such an elegant spot! My girls and I went here for happy hour and got the strawberry mules -- so delish! It's incredible that it's an $8 deal for cocktails. They also had apps and we got the crab croquettes and shrimp quesadillas, SO GOOD. The service was kind and efficient. Ricotta couldn't be fresher. Brussels sprouts had a soy glaze, both sweet and spicy along with pork belly. There were leftovers there was so much. I like that there is a dedicated parking lot for the establishment so you don't have to deal with street parking or feel shady parking at the shopping center next to it. I came here for brunch twice and both times were amazing. From the decor and ambience of the place, to the food and service quality, everything was to my liking. Immediately when you walk in you'll see some copper distillery equipment, and a wide selection of whiskey. The restaurant has a modern rustic vibe to it. The mini beignets were yummy, the chocolate espresso sauce that came with it rounded everything out and wasn't too sweet. The brussel sprouts were an absolute favorite. It is full of flavor and accompanied by crispy pork belly. Delicious! The breakfast burrito was a solid choice, especially with the chorizo that came with it. My other half ordered steak and fries and the shoestring fries came out hot and crispy! The mocktails I had were amazing as well. Out of the Bramble had a yummy berry flavor, and the tamarind sour had a slight tartness with an almond undertone to it, making it an interesting NA drink that makes you feel just at home with your alcohol drinking friends. I've visited Copper Shark twice now for brunch and haven't been disappointed! First, parking is easy with a big adjacent lot and service was excellent both times. It's very cozy inside too, I loved the ambiance. Food was also delicious! The cinnamon roll appetizer is to die for (and that cream cheese dip? Perfect cream cheese flavor.. YUM) and I enjoyed my crab omelet! I got the crab Benedict the first time which wasn't as good in my opinion (crab was a little lacking and tasted a bit dry). I ordered the Rum Punch which was light and not too sweet. For food, I got their Curried Cauliflower and Beef Tartare. Both dishes were huge and really good. This is one of my go-to dinner spots. One of my favorite things about this place is the fact that it has a parking lot, which is pretty much nonexistent in the city! The service here is pretty good. You can tell they make an effort to give you a good experience. I love the vibe here as well. It's a nice spot for an after-work happy hour, business dinner or a date. Early dinner with some friends on a Monday. We shared everything that touched the table. Emma* was our server. She said she had been out for a few months, but we couldn't tell. She was very attentive and when she was unsure/forgot she would come back to clarify (of which we appreciated bc most servers wouldn't even bother). The food was just mediocre for the price, and I probably wouldn't rush to return. Our service, and especially our server Christian, was terrific and super attentive. When I saw jumbo lump crabcakes on the menu, I was super excited and highly considered ordering. However, when two people at my table ordered, I opted for the 14-oz. New York strip. The steak was delicious, cooked to the correct temperature, and presented nicely with fingerling potatoes, asparagus, and a cup of CS steak sauce. As for the crabcakes, you should be ashamed of yourselves. This is Maryland, and anytime I see jumbo lump, I'm usually all in. The crab was backfin meat at best, and compared to what I see for crabcakes in other Baltimore-area and Maryland restaurants that are top-rated for crabcakes, yours didn't come close, both in size and lump meat. It just wasn't there. Our friend, whom we brought for his birthday dinner, was also very disappointed. He had been to the restaurant six times and was eager for us to experience it with him. However, the menu completely changed since he was last there, and the soup, fish, and chips he had raved about were no longer on the menu, and he, too, was disappointed. Lastly, the bread. A great find! We made reservations for Mother's Day! They were busy but handled it like the pros they are! We started with the brussel sprouts and whipped ricotta! Absolutely amazing first time experience! Walking in, I was shocked at how cozy and warm the environment felt- the photos definitely don't do this place justice! The bar is to your right as soon as you walk in, the tables are towards the back. We were greeted and actually taken out to the patio because they had an event going on! Eventually, we were seated for our dinner and got a nice, spacious booth - they have booths and table seats if I'm not mistaken. FOOD- Pan roasted half chicken. I actually ordered this because I looked at photos prior to arrival but something different came out- I'd show photos, maybe some names get mixed up. My food was still fantastic and the presentation was pleasing. I'm looking forward to trying new foods out in the future. I would've opted to order another drink, as they offered more non-alcoholic drinks on the menu. Now, let's talk about the food! We ordered the blackberry salad and omitted a few ingredients to accommodate the vegan dietary restriction. I loved the portion size of the salad, which was full. The succotash was flavorful and tasty and it turned out to be a good pairing item with the blackberry salad. The zaatar grilled lamb duo was delicious and fully cooked (upon request). The pairing sides and condiments that came with the lamb were great compliments. The house fries were a tasty classic, paired with the ketchup provided. We took advantage of the Wednesday special, which is half off bourbon drinks, but we didn't arrive in time for the Happy Hour (Monday through Friday until 7:00 p.m.). We had two Negronis and two Wandering Days bourbon cocktails. The savings from the specials were a great bonus! In addition to them comping the bread pudding. We had a really good time and look forward to returning soon.
