Marta came up more than any other restaurant when I was researching where to eat in Baltimore, so my expectations were somewhere between high and skeptical -- I assumed it would be a fairly generic Italian place with good marketing. It is not. The crab pasta was excellent and absolutely worth the hype. I will say I wasn't a fan of the bread: it was too dense, and there was a bit too much acidity in the sourdough for me. The butter didn't do much for me either. But that's a small complaint against a genuinely great plate of pasta. The space is cozy and intimate, and the hospitality is what really made the night. The hosts are SO sweet and my server was incredibly kind. Great vibes all around, and I'd happily come back.

We had a great meal for our 10th wedding anniversary this past Thursday night. Grace was our server and did a great job taking care of us!

The food was yummy but expect fine dining portions. It is very, very small for the price (almost tapa-level entrees). However the cocktails are delicious here. My favorite was the Caprese cocktail! So unique. It does fill up so grab a reservation if you can. We sat at the bar but it gets very crowded fast!

The always iconic caprese martini paired with flavorful, stunning plates made for the perfect celebratory evening! Thank you for another memorable meal, team Marta!

SO GOOD. The food, the drinks, the vibes, everything about this place is perfect. It's got such a homey, local feel like an old sitcom has to it. I always sit at the bar when I come because it's always busy and I never remember to make a reservation lol. It's so fun watching the bartenders do their thing. Food and drinks come quick, they've got a really cool cocktail list like a caprese cocktail that I have yet to try.

The wait staff were awesome, so friendly but the food was very disappointing. I will say the Campanelle Zafferano was delicious as was the caprese martini. However, the tuna cannolis that were highly recommended had no flavor, the rockfish was inedible and the meatballs were just okay. For subpar Italian food that is quite expensive, I'd skip.

Marta's was truly exceptional!! First time dining there and we ordered a sheep's milk ricotta, ziti alla bolognese, chicken Milanese, and tiramisu. All the entrees were truly a 10/10. It is a MUST to try the sheeps milk ricotta!! I have not tasted something like it before. My entree, the pasta, was also superb and so flavorful. Also a rather large portion, which is a plus (I took home leftovers). My friend got the chicken Milanese and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The tiramisu was heavenly and hit just the spot after our meal. I will definitely be back for another brunch

Recently moved to Baltimore and had to check out Marta. They were pretty busy on a weekday night which is not surprising given the recent James Beard nom. Our server was great- funny, helpful, and engaging. Food was beautiful and tasty! We all really enjoyed the apps we picked out, especially the beet carpaccio and the caesar salad. For main dishes, the pastas (truffle and bolognese) were delicious. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauces were balanced and flavorful. I particularly loved the truffle pasta. The parmigiano zabaglione was like a parm cream sauce on top... so good. Espresso martini was a great way to end the meal.

Found this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try without really knowing much about it. For starters, it was extremely loud inside. I was basically yelling to talk to my partner across the table. There wasn't any music playing, so it was mostly just everyone's loud conversations. TikTok made it seem like this was going to be more of a lowkey, intimate dinner vibe, but it was the complete opposite. As for the food, the Caesar salad was pretty dry. The Bolognese pasta was good, but I've definitely had better at other Italian restaurants. My partner had the scampi, which was good overall, but the blue crab really threw it off for me because it had a strong, fishy taste. The yellowtail was just okay. Overall, this was unfortunately a one-and-done experience for me. That being said, all of the staff were extremely nice and friendly, which was appreciated

Well, I'm not sure that I've ever experienced a turnaround and complete need for a reevaluation of a restaurant the way I did at Marta tonight. As you can see from my previous review, we did not have the best experience the first time. But tonight was absolutely amazing. I think we must've just caught them on an off day the last time. This time everything was perfect. The entire staff was kind, warm, welcoming, and helpful. Our waitress, Greeta, was absolutely amazing. And when I say amazing, I mean really stupendous. We got the chicken fingers for my youngest daughter, and they came with a marinara sauce. But of course she wanted ketchup. We asked Greeta if they had any ketchup and as it turns out, they did not. But Greeta went to another restaurant nearby and brought back some packets of ketchup. If that isn't going above and beyond, then I don't know what is. The food was absolutely stellar. We got a lot of things and shared them, but some favorites even amongst all the deliciousness were the whipped ricotta, the Caesar salad, the chicken marsala, the diver scallop entrée, and the tuna appetizer. The cocktails and wine were also fabulous. Absolutely deserving of 5 stars and now we can't wait to go back!

Overall 4/5. Food: tasty and a good presentation. The pasta sauce we got was a little too thick- you couldn't really appreciate the pasta itself. We also got a lamb dish which was 10/10. For our appetizer, we got the mushroom arancini balls, delicious. They also had a stellar dirty martini. Environment: we had our reservation at 8:30 but it was so busy we still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated, so I would expect a wait. Service: great

We went here for our wedding anniversary yesterday and honestly the food was very delicious. Loved the tuna cannoli, both pasta dishes and the desserts were incredible. Only taking a star down for a couple reasons. We put in the reservation it was our anniversary when it asked special occasion and it was not acknowledged once. Portion of my entree (short rib ravioli) was on the smaller side and we did wait 15 mins to get our check after we finished dessert. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful but he did get busy as the night went on so probably not his fault. I must say the tiramisu was 10/10 best I've had. We sat in the bar area for a more casual vibe and it is still cozy upper scale Italian restaurant vibe. Id love to go back and try other menu items

Marta definitely lives up to the hype! Went to celebrate my husband's new job, and I'm so glad we did! The food was amazing! Branzino was a perfect 10 out of 10! The service was fantastic! Can't wait to visit again.

There was about 8 of us and we were seated downstairs in the bar area at a high top. Despite there being a reservation, it felt like our party was a last minute thought. The table was cramped and the ambiance of the downstairs bar area was dingy and dimly-lit. Our server, who was also the only bartender, did his best to multi task all night, although his demeanor was not very warm or friendly. I ordered the gluten free version of the Samantha fettuccine. Despite this being the only noodle they don't make in house, I had to pay extra for it. Annoying, but not totally unexpected. What was disappointing was the total price for the dish. It came out to be almost $50.... I believe the pasta is marked as market price due to the inclusion of crab meat but when it arrived, there was barely any in the dish. The flavor of the sauce was good but definitely not worth the price tag. I won't be returning anytime soon.

Very attentive and made us feel so special. The entire space was so beautiful. Every area had its special touches of yellow and lemons. Black and white tiling on the floors, vegetation and lemons hanging from the outdoor sitting area. The place was immaculate. Food was amazing. We had a ragu dish topped with mushrooms, carbonara, and Kobe beef meatball topped with ricotta and pistachios. For drinks my husband got the Italian guy and I had the limoncello blush. Lastly, they surprised me with desert and a sparkler candle. I was truly impressed. I want to also add that for the quality of the food and the luxurious atmosphere, the prices were great for the food and drinks. I cannot wait to return for Brunch.

They did say I could have a seat at the bar while I wait but I opted to wait outside. When my friend arrived we were seated promptly. The restaurant itself is super cute and a cozy, intimate atmosphere. It's dimly lit with beautiful little touches throughout, including "ciao" displayed across the ceiling and a really nice sign in the foyer which makes for a great photo op. For the food we decided to share crispy Brussel sprouts and shrimp bruschetta as an appetizer. Then for my main entree I got Pappardelle Genovese which was pappardelle pasta, caramelized onion- braised beef ragú, Gorgonzola cream drizzle, Parmigiano Reggiano and then I got creme brûlée for dessert. For my drink I went with a Shirley temple. The food was super delish. I especially enjoyed the shrimp bruschetta and my pasta dish. They were not stingy with the meat at all. The server added sparklers to our dessert which was a nice touch and wished us a happy birthday. However, because we orders two desserts he informed us that he could only comp one of them as a bday dessert. We weren't expecting either to be comped so that was nice. I think the pricing was decent, two non alcoholic drinks, three appetizers, two entrees and a dessert for $130 (as of 2026). Something worth mentioning is that sending a dish back may not result in the food being comped. My friend had also ordered the polenta al funghi but didn't like the aftertaste. She told the server who said he would get the manager. The manager said the dishes are made to order and the owners don't want food being comped (I'm summarizing). Mind you no one said anything about taking it off the check. It wasn't a big deal but interesting that no resolution was offered . Like she could've suggested to replace with something else. She basically just said she's not taking it off the check and that's it. Didn't ruin the experience for me but worth mentioning in case you're the type to send things back to the kitchen. Overall, good experience and I would return.

It's one of the most beautiful spots in Little Italy, which is saying something. They use a lot of mirrors, which makes the space feel enormous, and based on ambiance alone, it would make a fantastic date spot. I ordered a flight of bruschetta, the meatballs, a tagliere of meats and cheeses, and the Culurgiones, an herb-forward stuffed pasta. The bruschettas tasted good, but they were soggy. It felt like either the bread hadn't been toasted enough or they had sat assembled for too long. Bruschetta should have some crunch and structure; these didn't. The tagliere was fine, but a little boring. More disappointing, the meats had that industrial, processed taste I associate with inexpensive domestic deli meats from the grocery store. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing on the board made me want another bite, either. The meatballs were okay, and I'd probably order them again, but I've had much better elsewhere in Little Italy. Up to that point, the meal had mostly been a collection of "fine." Where La Tavola really lost me, though, was the Culurgiones. These are supposed to be stuffed with a potato mixture rife with saffron, pennyroyal, and other herbs. What I got tasted like pasta stuffed with mashed potatoes from a box. They were incredibly bland. Every so often I'd catch a hint of mint, but if there was saffron in there, I'd be shocked, especially since the filling remained almost completely pale, and saffron generally isn't shy about announcing itself with some colour. I ate one or two and called it quits. Biting into pasta and getting a mouthful of dry instant-potato flavour just wasn't my vibe. Maybe I ordered wrong, and there may be dishes here that shine. The room certainly does. But based on what I had, this one just didn't hit for me.

Dalesios of Little Italy has been open since 1984 and has been serving great Italian dishes in the heart of Baltimore's Little Italy. Walking inside, the restaurant is tastefully decorated. It screams old world, European charm with it's unique art adorning the walls. I'm seated in the first dining room, closest to the front door. There's a bar inside this room which adds to the Italian decor. First time here, I don't know the restaurants portion sizes. Is it family style where one plate can feed a small army? The portion size was perfect. I ordered a nice glass of Italian wine and the Scampi & Crab Alla Sardegna. The pasta dish was amazing. The pasta was cooked perfect al dente and the Scampi & Crab sauce was something unique to Baltimore. It's Crab & Shrimp simmered in a cognac, garlic & tomato cream sauce. All of this goodness is served over linguine. I love Maryland Crabs and to have them topped in a pasta dish makes my heart sing. I highly recommend this dish. My waiter was very informative, he made some great dinner suggestions but I first had to try the Scampi & Crab Alla Sardegna. The next time I come I'm going to order the Lasagna!
