    Gnocchi bolognese. Delectable.

Wonderful experience...but do make a reservation! (You can do it online.) We were seated after about 16 minutes, which was close enough to the "10 to 15" they stated when I walked in and had a reservation. The wait without a reservation was over an hour, so make sure you are not a walk-in. First off, everybody who works here is really friendly and welcoming. When we were seated we got some bread, which was sooo soft inside with a nice crisp outside. It came with EVOO and balsamic with some garlic for dipping. The dip was tasty and the bread was filling. We got the Burrata 3 Tomatoes appetizer, which was a giant pile of burrata (encased in standard mozz from what I can tell) and 3 typed of tomatoes: fresh cherry tomatoes, slices of beefsteak tomatoes, and San Marzano (or similar) tomatoes that were roasted. It is drizzled in balsamic. This was perfect. It is served cold and I think over the summer I will need to come and have it again on a hot day. The mixture of flavors from the different tomatoes and the balsamic really balances well with the cheese. Finally, I had gnocchi. You can have it prepared 4 different ways. I chose bolognese. I got a decent sized plate of gnocchi with a delectable bolognese sauce, served with a huge top from a basil plant in the center. This hit it out of the park for me. I would not ask for anything to be different on this dish. The restaurant has good lighting...it is not too bright or too dark. The owners/managers were actively walking around and helping clear tables, as well as visiting tables and talking to customers.

Had such a fun time at Rocco's! My friends and I went for their happy hour deal and stayed for dinner service. The service was great! Everyone was friendly. The food was delicious and fresh tasting. Presentations of the cocktails and appetizers were lovely! The restaurant was really beautiful and clean! Can't wait to go back!

When we heard that a new Italian restaurant was opening in Towson, we had to go and check it out. We initially decided to stop in, take a look at the restaurant, and pick up a menu. We arrived on their opening day just after they opened at 11:00 AM. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, Karen, and invited to look around. She gave us menus when we told her we came to look. Wow, what a stunning and inviting restaurant they have created! Aside from the entrance, there are three separate dining areas, including the bar. They have tables, booths and banquette seating. The décor is elegant and sophisticated at the same time. Kevin, the manager, greeted us as well. You could tell how proud he was of the time and energy that went into the making of this restaurant. We decided to stay for lunch. They offer a lunch menu with 5 different Lunch Express items for $12.22. In addition, their regular menu offers lunch prices for most of their dinner items. They start off every meal with fresh baked rolls with garlic butter and seasoned olive oil - a perfect beginning. My husband decided on the Petite Italian Cold Cut, which came with soup or a salad. He decided to upgrade the soup to a bowl of Cream of Crab for $3.00 more. What can I say! The Cream of Crab soup had a velvety cream base with jumbo lump crab meat, authentic Chesapeake Bay seasoning, and with a hint of dry sherry - very impressive. I was completely blown away to see on the regular menu a dish that I had enjoyed in Naples, Italy. I have never seen it on a menu in the United States. It was called Fettuccine Genovese - a delectable braised beef and caramelized onion ragu with a Gorgonzola cream drizzle and Parmesan cheese. The only difference is in Italy it is served on broken long Ziti noodles. Rocco's creation was such a different and delicious pasta; you must try it. We returned later in the week for lunch again. My husband had to try the Fettuccine Genovese. He was as thrilled with as I was. I had Mortazza Ciabatta Panini. Oh my, I was back in Bologna, this was a delightful panini filled with imported mortadella, fresh mozzarella, with a pistachio cream served with shoestring potatoes. Our daughter and son-in-law thoroughly enjoyed their lunch experience. They started with the Tomato Bruschetta - a generous portion of grilled Italian bread topped with marinated tomatoes, arugula, shaved Parmesan, olive oil with a balsamic glaze. They also had an Italian Sushi Roll, which consisted of aged prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, arugula, red roasted peppers, olive oil, balsamic glaze with Parmesan crumble - a most unusual and tasty appetizer. They moved on to the Beet & Goat cheese salad - a generous salad loaded with fresh arugula, roasted red beets, crispy goat cheese, candied walnuts with a balsamic vinaigrette - just scrumptious. The grand finish was the Veal Saltimbocca - tasty veal with prosciutto, fontina cheese, fresh sage with a Marsala demi-glaze. Every dish was crafted with care and packed with flavor from the first bite to the last. The plating was just as impressive as the taste. Our servers, Gerry, Geremia and Nicki, took excellent care of us. We look forward to coming back for dinner soon. Check out our photos of the restaurant and the food - you will be totally impressed! Thank you for a memorable dining experience!

We eagerly anticipated the opening of Rocco's for months, and decided to visit on their first official night open. It was absolutely everything we could have hoped for and more. We decided to make a reservation ahead of time and were glad we did...it was packed. We got seated upon our arrival, and immediately greeted by our server. Water glasses got filled, drink orders taken and then some amazing bread with roasted garlic, balsamic and evoo dipping oil appeared. Our server, Gerry gave the rundown of some of his favorite menu items and we then perused the menu. I decided on the lasagna and my husband had the chicken piccata. Presentation of both dishes was flawless and they were absolutely delicious. I'm an Italian girl and have eaten an embarrassing amount of lasagna in my lifetime, and let me tell you, this was some of the best lasagna I have ever had. The chicken piccata was divine as well. Decided on tiramisu for dessert and it was legit. We returned again a few days later on a Friday night and they were super busy (again, make a reservation!). We tried the Italian sushi (get it....trust me), then spaghetti and meatballs and cavatelli barese. Both dishes were outstanding and I'm still dreaming about the meatballs. Spumoni Bomba was our dessert choice and it was sinfully good. We've since been back a third time. Yes, it's that good. Thank you, Rocco's for bringing a breath of fresh air to Towson.

This is Puerto Rican pitorro, also known as ron cañita, made with care and intention rather than gimmickry. Many local liquor stores now carry the brand, and it is well worth picking up a bottle, but visiting the distillery is an experience in itself. The founder is a fellow Puerto Rican born retired military member, a background I share, and like me, he has put down roots in Maryland. That story is reflected clearly in the brand's own framing, "Puerto Rican born, Maryland made." The space feels grounded and unpretentious, and that sensibility carries through to the hospitality. We arrived late on a Saturday and were still welcomed warmly, never rushed. We were taken care of by the founder's daughter, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She guided us through a flight that included the traditional pitorro, almond, pineapple, coffee, coconut chai, and several seasonal offerings. The flavors were thoughtful and well balanced; even the infused expressions retained a clear rum backbone rather than drifting into novelty. We enjoyed them enough to leave with several bottles. This is artisanal pitorro done right, rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and confidently made in Maryland. Buying it locally is convenient, but going to the distillery is where the people, the story, and the spirit fully come together.

That is a very nice seating option; however, there was a private event occurring so I couldnt be seated at such. They also have a front patio seating option as well. I opted to be seated at the bar for this visit as well. The bartender was not as pleasant as my entrance experience and previous visit; however he was attentive. We ordered drinks and then proceeded witj our food ordering once we received our drinks. We ordered Expresso Martini and Reposado Old Fashioned. The drinks are amazing and 5*. We ordered our food Oversized burger and Pan Seared scallops over brussel sprouts. Our food came out hot and within reasonable time. The burger is NOT an oversized burger. Regular sized and the descriptive name is deceiving. The burger option was not anything to speak on as it was not to satisfaction but quelled the hunger moment. It was over cooked. The pan seared scallops came out with a strong "fishy" smell. They however were tasty and spicy. This was a small plate as it was only 3 scallops in total. Other then the strong "fishy"smell, they were tasty. We then ordered a limoncello and was of course satisfied as it was another great tasting drink. This establishment does not have a nice and variety food menu but you will never be disappointed with the drinks.

10/10 Review for The Den…read more My significant other and I had such a fantastic time at The Den -- it's truly a neighborhood gem. The food was outstanding: the steak and chicken sandwiches were flavorful and balanced, the truffle fries addictive, and the shrimp appetizer had the perfect sweet‑tangy kick. The bread pudding was hands down the best we've ever had, fresh and unforgettable. The oak‑smoked bourbon was not just a drink but a whole experience, adding a special touch to the night. And Mike, the owner, made it all even better with his fun, personable energy and genuine hospitality. On top of that, I recommend checking out Jewelry by Char, displayed on the table -- really cute, handmade pieces that add a special touch to the atmosphere. Overall, The Den is more than just a bar -- it's an experience we can't wait to come back to together!

I don't drink, and in the past Mike has always taken great care of me and understood that. This was my first time dealing with the other bartenders, and unfortunately, it didn't go well. When I sat at a table and tried to order, the bartender wouldn't make eye contact and never came back after I mentioned that I don't drink. He focused on everyone else around me instead. I moved to the bar hoping things would improve, but it was more of the same--being looked past and ignored. The kindest moment of the night actually came from the chef, who brought my cauliflower bites out himself, still piping hot. He confirmed they were mine, smiled, set them down, and headed back to the kitchen. I had ordered buffalo bites, but they came out plain, and it took some effort to get the bartender's attention just to ask for the sauce--though once I had it, the bites were truly delicious. By then I was over it, especially as I watched him continue to cater to everyone else. I ate and waited for my bill. It was karaoke night, so I sang a few songs to pass the time, but still no check. Eventually, I managed to get the (still nameless) bartender to bring it, and I left. I've been here before and usually enjoy the place, but this visit wasn't great. I felt brushed off the whole time.
