Went here after a movie with my friends. Chris was our server. He was attentive and allowed us to have time to talk and hang out which was really what we wanted. We all had drinks, some of us had apps, some full meals (the chicken parm was on restaurant week) and some desserts. All in all food and experience was great. Will be back again

I hadn't been to the Towson Tavern in awhile so when I was looking around for a quick bite before a movie, the Tavern came to mind. It was easy to make a last minute reservation and my table was ready when I arrived. My party of four was greeted promptly by Henry who flashed a razzle dazzle smile and immediately began taking drink orders. We all decided to share entrees and some apps, and were pleasantly surprised when our food arrived already split on separate plates. So nice! Thanks, Henry! The Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese appetizer was delicious and plentiful. Even four of us couldn't finish it all. The chicken lettuce wraps were good, not great, but we did finish it off. The Towson Burger was really, really good. It was cooked just as I asked (no pink) and it had a special sauce that was very tasty. The prices here are extremely reasonable for a white linen ambiance restaurant. Five star service by Henry and excellent food. We even made it to our movie on time.

Nice spot to grab drinks. Oysters were fresh and good. Cheeseboard wasn't the best, cheese was very basic and tasted cheap, I wish they had more varieties. Bartenders were friendly.

    Breakfast burrito - overdone steak

I went Sunday morning at 10 am when the doors opened with three friends of mine. The ambience was warm and inviting. There were plenty of booths and tables with a long bar off to the side with TVs on the wall. I was expecting their brunch on Sunday morning to be delicious. Boy was I wrong. All the options on the menu sounded so good. My friend ordered the smoked salmon plate. The server informed her they were out of smoked salmon. Now we were the first patrons there. How is it possible they are already out of smoked salmon. I ordered the breakfast burrito for $9 and added steak which made it $12. The coffee that came out came in a dirty mug. There was something dark I flicked off the top of rim of the cup. I still drank the coffee which was awfully bitter. The fruit that I got as a side option was just ok, nothing special. The burrito looked appetizing. Sadly it was just the appearance. Totally superficial. There was absolutely no flavor in it whatsoever. No seasoning to be found. My steak was hammered! I couldn't eat it. I got a doggy bag and yes it went to the dogs. I asked the ladies about their food and they said the thing. My one friend said her crab omelette was dried up. The eggs were way over cooked in the oven. And she found a minuscule amount of crab. All of us were laughing because this is a possibility of trying a new place. You just never know. I honestly cannot recommend this place nor will be returning. Our server was super nice so a shout out to him. Unfortunately besides the ambiance and the nice server this meal was lacking in any flavor.

Have gone to this tavern a couple of times for after work happy hours. Typically very quiet and pleasant. This is probably because this location isn't frequented by Towson students. The happy hour specials are usually pretty good. I like the Pineapple Express (gives martini vibes). They had a seasonal drink called the pear gingerita a that is made from a house made gingercello. It was actually a pretty refreshing drink - didn't necessarily give me winter vibes per se, but good none the less. A little sweet but tasty. Service was pretty decent. We went on a Thursday night and there was one server. Pretty attentive and was able to serve people quickly.

French toast. Sooo moist and good!

The place looks like it changed its model from restaurant to bar food & pizzeria menu. The old place had a chef picking items from the garden and changed its menus daily. I am sad about that. One look at the front page of their menu tells me we are eating from the delivery truck with dressed plates. But keep in mind they are using a different work model which may work better on my wallet. Other points; I also noticed their liquor store is expanding so this may be a welcomed addition/place for them to make their money. They are open on Sunday for takeaways. Finally, nothing has changed as yet about their beers on tap. They offer a good variety of beers, from tap to bottle or can. I am interested to see if the clientele change for the better.?.

The place was ready for us, when we said we would be there a little early. And our waiter, Manny (I think he's the only waiter), did his thing again. He brought out a really good mixed drink for my friend, which she really enjoyed. And he bougied up some sprites for my other two friends, which made them feel nice and fancy. I enjoyed my appetizer sampler. I'm not crazy about Pretzles - but this pretzel was fresh and sooooo delicious! Like a soft cloud, I just had to share. The shrimp tempura was also very good. It was a good choice for me. I was pretty comfortable after that, so I got some chicken wings for my main course, with more Thai chili sauce. The wings were really really good, though I'm not a drum stick fan. If I could go back and just have flats I would. But they were finger-licking good. The music from the bar next door wasn't too loud, as I remember last time. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers (got another believer in the Brussels sprouts, the soup was still faithful, and the tater tots made you wanna slap somebody's mama). I appreciate that everything always comes out hot at Reds. No one is getting anything cold unless that's how it's served! Really pretty and chill vibe to the place too. You can dress formal, or be dressy casual, or just plain. You'll never feel like you don't belong there. Just a good place to be. Always enjoy it there.

My friends suggested that we dine here for restaurant week which was a sweet idea. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the friendly hostess who took us to our seats. Then our waiter explained the menu and gave us some time to decided what menu we wanted to order from (Restaurant week brunch menu or regular menu). We chose the brunch menu. For the brunch menu we were able to choose a appetizer, entree, and a dessert for $35.00. Not too bad. For drinks I ordered PIRATE PRINCESS which was Ron del Barrilito 2 Star Puerto Rican rum, passionfruit, miso honey, lime, and togarash. It was a perfect balance of sweetness and a little bitterness. For food we ordered the shrimp and corn patties, and the pan roasted salmon. The shrimp and corn patties were delicious. It was packed with multiple flavors and it was seasoned really well. The pan roasted salmon was cooked to perfection. It was flaky, and seasoned very well. It came with Ramen noodles that I thought were going to be temperature hot however, they came room temperature which was fine. They were seasoned very well. The ambiance was very nice. It gave like 1950's/ 1970's vibe. Old marble tables, antique pictures on the walls. It seemed like the building use to be a house prior to it becoming a restaurant. It was a great time. If you are in the Hampden area I recommend giving this restaurant a try. I am looking forward to visiting again for dinner. Cheers!!

But before we get to the food let me start with the customer service from the second you arrive and the young man working valet parked our car to the second he brought it back you felt like you were a VIP. The valet, the host, the servers and the managers all make you feel like you're the most important guest in the building, regardless of how many other guests and parties are there. I was impressed with the service and felt so cared for and the server answered all of our questions and explained everything in great detail so I knew exactly what I was getting. And the atmosphere is one in a million, I felt like I was at a neighborhood hangout but also eating in a royal dining room. I love the attention to detail. So now to the food + drinks. I am not a drinker so I asked for mocktail recommendations and ended up with the POG it was served in a SPAM can and was so delicious it was passion fruit, orange and guava drink and was not just delicious but also beautiful! Now to the appetizer we ordered Spam Musubi and it felt like an explosion in my mouth, it was so delicious and like nothing I've ever tasted. For dinner, I had a delicious dish Gochujang Tteokbokki again melt in my mouth deliciousness and not something I would have ever thought to order. We ended the meal with dessert we ordered one of everything and shared and there wasn't a crumb left. If I could give them 10++ stars I would and this will definitely be a return place for us! I am so glad that I was able to try foods I wouldn't normally eat, but also experience upscale service in a neighborhood vibey space! Keep up the good work, Duchess!

I opted to be seated at the bar for this visit as well. The bartender was not as pleasant as my entrance experience and previous visit; however he was attentive. We ordered drinks and then proceeded witj our food ordering once we received our drinks. We ordered Expresso Martini and Reposado Old Fashioned. The drinks are amazing and 5*. We ordered our food Oversized burger and Pan Seared scallops over brussel sprouts. Our food came out hot and within reasonable time. The burger is NOT an oversized burger. Regular sized and the descriptive name is deceiving. The burger option was not anything to speak on as it was not to satisfaction but quelled the hunger moment. It was over cooked. The pan seared scallops came out with a strong "fishy" smell. They however were tasty and spicy. This was a small plate as it was only 3 scallops in total. Other then the strong "fishy"smell, they were tasty. We then ordered a limoncello and was of course satisfied as it was another great tasting drink. This establishment does not have a nice and variety food menu but you will never be disappointed with the drinks.

Well folks, I have enjoyed this place since we held our wedding reception there, 22 years ago! (It…read morewas still known as Sander's Corner back then.) We moved to AZ 7 years ago and quickly learned that there is no such thing as a good crabcake outside of Maryland. A few years after our wedding, the restaurant changed hands and became McFaul's Ironhorse Tavern. Initially, we were a bit concerned but that concern proved to be unfounded! With every trip back to MD, we always tried to stop into McFauls for - yup, a Maryland Crabcake (broiled), an ear or two of MD sweet corn and a cold Natty Boh! (My Dad used to work for National Brewing Co., so the beer choice was nostalgic, but honest! There is NO Natty Boh west of the Mississippi!) Anyway, nostalgia played a role in our choice of dining at McFaul's - but only ever so slightly! Until last night! We arrived at 5:30pm and had our choice of seating. It was a bit too warm to dine outside, so we chose a table for four near the fireplace. Two other tables were being served and the entire restaurant had not hit it's peak customer load! I settled in for my latest crabcake dinner. I chose the single crab cake with two sides. (Dinner: $35.00) but I am getting ahead of myself. Service was slow, waters only came right out and then the wait began. 10 minutes later, our server arrived to take our drink order. Of course, I ordered a can of Natty Boh. I also asked for a glass for my beer. 8 minutes later, the beer arrived (no glass.) Other drinks wandered in, but still no glass for the beer. I drank my water (which was also served in a beer-type glass) and waited. Our server returned to take our dinner order (still no glass!) Orders now placed and my can of Boh still needing a glass, I finished my water and poured (properly, of course) my Natty Boh into my empty, but still cold water glass. I enjoyed the first sip! Ahhhhh! Table talk proceeded and I started to dream of my cake! (BTW - no choice of broiled or fried!) Our server returned with a menu adjustment for one of our guests - kitchen was out of something. Oh yeah, my frosted glass finally arrived. (Too late!) Here's the sad part... our dinners were just so so. My small crabcake was surronded by about 25 fries and a mini Caeser's Salad. I had asked for two cups of cocktail sauce - I received one cocktail sauce and one tarter sauce. I have seen bigger crabcakes in the frozen food section of Giant Food. I was even served a cake twice as large at Camden Yards - of all places - for $28.00! One of our guests that ordered Fish & Chips received a full plate Caeser's Salad and about 50-60 fries (for way less money!) Here's my rap... I was not even mildly impressed by our food, service or ambiance! My, how the mighty have fallen. I will now remove McFaul's (with great sadness) from my "Must Visit When in MD" list! Reasons are as above, but for those that don't like to read all the dastardly details - Mediocre Food, Slow Unattentive Service, and A Tavern Ambiance that sorely needs a refresh! Sorry Folks, but Baltimore has WAY better to offer! SMH!
