Sweet honey glazed Lamb chops w/ Mac and cheese and collard greens.

The restaurant is in a good location but the inside left a lot to be desired. Our table for two was actually a side table. We had to sit to the side because the underside was blocked off. Not to mention it was wobbly. My best friend and I came here for my birthday and I was disappointed. It was a Friday night around 7pm. It wasn't packed but my drink took a while to come out. It was okay but nothing special. I don't remember the name. Although my waitress didn't ask how I wanted my lamb chops, they were too rare for my liking. So, I didn't eat it and decided I'd cook it more at home. The Mac and cheese was very dry. I didn't eat all of it and did not enjoy the texture. The greens were not good at all. I think wayyy too much vinegar. Oddly enough when I got home I put a lot of hot sauce in it. It enhanced it a little but still not " good". Overall, I was disappointed in my meal and I don't think I would return. I think they were supposed to to have live music but it was just two people setting up/ DJing. I was just underwhelmed by the food and the decor.

What's not to love! Good food, friendly staff and a live jazz player. Food was really good, but everything we wanted wasn't available. The drinks were tasty, but not strong enough. The space was spacious and inviting. The live jazz player added the perfect touch.

Stopped by on a Friday evening and had a great experience! There was a live saxophonist playing who was really good. The bar was filled and it looked like they only had one bartender so it was a little slow getting or drinks but with the wait. I got the cognac espresso martini. Strong and good! Highly recommend. Then we ordered the catfish tenders and the curry chicken egg rolls. The catfish tenders were great! I'm not even really a curry chicken person but I was pleasantly surprised at the egg rolls! Can with great sweet/spicy sauces. Got an entree, we split the Rasta pasta. That actually turned out to be perfect because after the two appetizers, we would not have finished a full entree by ourselves. Everything was delicious. Definitely returning.

I love coming to Corkscrew. They always have a good vibe going with a DJ. We came for brunch and were able to score 2 seats at the bar. I would recommend reservations unless you want to try your luck like I did. We ordered the lemon drop mimosa and the white sangria. Both were delicious drinks. For food, I ordered the blackened salmon and grits and the chicken and pancakes. The salmon was seasoned perfectly. The grits were good but could have been more creamier (I still ate them all haha). The chicken tenders with the chicken and pancakes were crispy and tasty. The syrup tasted just like the Cracker Barrel syrup haha. I would definitely return and you should visit too if you haven't!!

Hey friends! I came across Corkscrew on TikTok. I saw great vibes and food so I decided on here for my birthday dinner. It's also Black-owned, so a super plus! Corkscrew is a contemporary restaurant offering classic soul food dishes and American fare. I decided on the Rasta pasta. It was delicious. My only distaste was that it was more of an Alfredo than Rasta Pasta, it lacked the jerk heat. My family enjoyed their meals, it was a collective thought that their portions could be larger for the price. The water glasses were a distaste as well. The teacup of water was not satisfactory. I also ordered a Lemon Drop, with tequila. It was delicious. Our server was super friendly and personable. We had one issue with service as a manager became sassy with us when we tried to add another table to ours. We had permission from the host to do so, but he became sassy and moved the table back quickly. Restrooms were clean and stocked. The ambiance was nice, there's a nice backdrop for a photo-op. I asked via TikTok, if there would be live music on Saturdays, the business responded yes. Instead, it was a DJ all night. In my opinion, live music is people actually....performing...live. Prices are above average. Overall, I enjoyed my birthday experience here. Hope you enjoy! With love, The Picky Pescatarian

** 2 visits/ 1 review ** 5 Star Black Owned Business Greatness coming in 5..4..3..2.. ONE !! Prior to visiting this establishment, I heard a lot of great things about them, especially on Yelp. 10'17'2024 Visited w my friend for happy hour. Easy and cheap street parking. We entered and sat at the bar. We were greeted and assisted by Kiashia. She was pretty awesome. Friendly, kind, and smart. She happened to have the same educational background as my friend and I so she was instant fam. Collectively, we ordered the following. Bourbon Peach Tea - Perfectly concocted. Old Fashion w Tequilla - Enjoyable Prosecco - Nice!! Peruvian Spice Wings - Amazing flavor and taste. Corkscrew Cauliflower - Well plated. Super festive looking. Great tasting!! Caesar Salad w Salmon - Amazing !! Great portion size. Happy Hour is from 5pm-7pm on Thursdays. 1'10'2025 I returned to celebrate a former colleague's departure, and I brought company. My hubby and oldest joined. We were assisted by William H the entire visit who was soft spoken, attentive, professional and consistent. This evening had beverage happy hour specials only. We ordered from dinner menu. Collectively, we ordered the following. Corkscrew Wings (Buttermilk Fried) - Amazing !! Southern inspired and perfectly executed!! Corkscrew Fries - Very fresh and tasty. Ziggy Marley Rasta Pasta - Whoa!! Extremely flavorful, and great size plating. 36 Street Salmon (Candied Yams & Mixed Kale & Collard Greens) - This entire Platter was delish. Everything was well seasoned, plated, and tasty. Bourbon Peach Tea - Great beverage. Smooth, I highly recommend. Corkscrew Old Fashioned - Ahhhmazing!! Very smooth, well prepared, a whole vibe !! Another recommendation for sure !! Both visits had fantastic music playing that had me living out my shower singing dreams in real life !! Lol They def know how to read the room w the aux !! ~ Yelpies..... Yelpers!! The first thing I did when I left this place was research who the chief was!!!! This food was immaculate. I'm talking about every single item I purchased; we'll get into it. Temperature- I have to get this out of the way first. SMH. It's too darn hot in there. Temperature is a deal breaker for me, especially when dining somewhere. I can't eat somewhere where the room temperature is the same as my food. It was almost at that level. & I shouldn't have to consistently wipe sweat off my face when I'm inside. I'm a big dude, but I'm not big like dat, like dat. That has to be fixed immediately. I also see that some people mentioned this issue in their review before me. Staffing - They only had one young lady, Mariah doing everything. Seating people, taking orders, cleaning tables, bringing out food & drinks .. it wasn't cool. It was a group of ladies sitting across from me asking her "Did you remember my drinks ?!?" I took that as a hint and told Mariah to just " keep my cocktails & mimosa's coming out... Thank goodness she had a wonderful attitude & spirit, cause she was moving the best she could with no help at all. Food- If the food didn't hit on all accounts, I would have rated this place a 3. But it's amazing what the gifted hands in the chicken can do. I got the lamb chop meal which came with home fries (potatoes), scrambled eggs & added stuffed strawberry French toast. This was prob the best food I've had from a restaurant since moving from D.C. I can go on and on about the details of each item, but my review is already long as a mug. The best home fries I've ever had !!! The eggs, which is my favorite food, so I take them really seriously, fire !!! I even tried the curry chicken egg rolls once I moved to the bar area, & ON MY Goodness. Music- I love a live D.J. After eating my initial order, I side to the bar cause I just so happen to run into an old friend. So we grooved to the music & danced a lil bit. Staff attitude- Every employee I engaged with was great. Mariah.. The female bartender with the nice short haircut.. The owner was sitting beside us enjoying herself and laughing. I love this place & it will be high on my list when I even think about eating out now. Lol. I wrote enough. Lol. Hope you all enjoy. #TeamDiesel4Evaaaaa

This black owned business is located in Hampden and it's such a vibe! Stopped by on a Friday evening and sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and engaging. They have some happy hour specials. Thursday nights, happy hour is all night. They don't have an extensive menu, but I wasn't too hungry anyway. I did end up trying the curry chicken egg rolls. They were tasty because I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit hesitant, but give it a try! They have unique cocktails, and they're nice and strong! I enjoyed the "Pretty Girl Energy." Definitely recommend. A jazz band came on, and they were everything. I plan to come back soon!

Corkscrew is a scene from Love Jones. It has a cool vibe and warm atmosphere. I sat at the bar for a Friday happy hour. The bartenders were polite and offered suggestions. After carefully reviewing the menu, I decided on the Curry Chicken Egg Rolls and the Bourbon Mangria (think red Sangria on steroids). Both had the right amount of kick to keep me coming back. Definitely add Corkscrew to your list! Oh, jazz band takes the stage at 8PM. Get there early so you can get a seat.

The bartenders know what they're doing.

When I stepped into Corkscrew on a Saturday night, I was struck by how much of a geniunely good time everyone was having. But when you consider that the DJ was doing his thing with banger after banger, it's little wonder. The food: I found it to be solid but some items were not as moist and flavorful as they could have been (the salmon), didn't have the kick they could have (the jerk egg rolls), and others saltier than they should have been (the collard greens), I really enjoyed their mac and cheese--it's perfect crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside--the way it's supposed to be. I would order that alone and be happy. The drinks: the bartenders were on point. We had a variety of drinks both on their menu and classics. They hit every time. They even make a great amaretto sour. The Corkscrew sour was a surprising and welcome twist on the sours we are familiar with. And I'm not embarrassed to say that I ordered an amaretto sour and enjoyed it. Like really enjoyed it. The bartenders are beyond belief. The music: we were initially disappointed that there wasn't live music this time but the DJ quickly made us forget all about it. He was playing hits from the 2000s, modern tracks, Afrobeats, Baltimore classics, and even some 70s all timers here and there. It was incredible. Vibe: the seats are so plush and comfortable that you don't want to leave. The interior design says sexy urban chic. You feel so damn elegant just being here. Service: the young man who served us was pleasant and noticeably polite. However, after we ordered from the menu, we were perplexed to see waiters walking by with plates of fried fish, steak, and salmon--all not listed on the menu. We didn't see him for some time but when we flagged him down, it turns out he that he forgot to tell us about the specials. Then he asked if we wanted him to tell us about the specials. It was as annoying as it was hilarious. I couldn't be mad at him at all. Overall: this place is awesome. We have to keep spots like this in Baltimore open at all costs. Please go support them and you'll have a great time doing it. 9/10

Nice vibe in a cute setting. It's an oasis from the hustle and bustle of 36th street. Loved the DJ, karaoke and Thursday all night Happy Hour, Reservations are suggested Friday through Sunday. Food, drinks and service were superb! I love this spot and will be back as often as possible. If you like music great food and atmosphere, add this spot to your list!

Checked out Corkscrew on a Friday night with a friend. We were looking for a drink and to share some apps! We were able to be seated right away by the stage. The ambiance was nice and they had live jazz music. The wine list prices are very reasonable. We shared a bottle of wine for less than $30 (blanking on the exact price but it was somewhere between $27-30 ish). We ordered three food items on the menu. We got the curry chicken egg rolls, cauliflower bites, and the fry duo that came with Rosemary fries and sweet potato fries. The egg rolls were delicious! That was my favorite thing we ordered. Whenever I order cauliflower bites at other restaurants they're typically fried/tempura bites. That's what we were expecting but it was more like roasted cauliflower. It was still tasty but not what we were expecting. The fry duo was just okay. The sweet potato fries were too sweet for our taste (we prefer savory sweet potato fries). The food also came out pretty slowly. I think they are still working through some opening kinks. There were also some discrepancies with the check, the pricing didn't quite match but the prices on our receipt were actually lower than the menu so I wasn't complaining. Finally, they add a 15 or 16% service charge to their bill. I'm not opposed that they do that but I wish they would say what it is for (the waitress or other)... because it's kind of an awkward amount. It's less than I would tip but not even sure if it counts as a tip!

It's dimly lit with beautiful little touches throughout, including "ciao" displayed across the ceiling and a really nice sign in the foyer which makes for a great photo op. For the food we decided to share crispy Brussel sprouts and shrimp bruschetta as an appetizer. Then for my main entree I got Pappardelle Genovese which was pappardelle pasta, caramelized onion- braised beef ragú, Gorgonzola cream drizzle, Parmigiano Reggiano and then I got creme brûlée for dessert. For my drink I went with a Shirley temple. The food was super delish. I especially enjoyed the shrimp bruschetta and my pasta dish. They were not stingy with the meat at all. The server added sparklers to our dessert which was a nice touch and wished us a happy birthday. However, because we orders two desserts he informed us that he could only comp one of them as a bday dessert. We weren't expecting either to be comped so that was nice. I think the pricing was decent, two non alcoholic drinks, three appetizers, two entrees and a dessert for $130 (as of 2026). Something worth mentioning is that sending a dish back may not result in the food being comped. My friend had also ordered the polenta al funghi but didn't like the aftertaste. She told the server who said he would get the manager. The manager said the dishes are made to order and the owners don't want food being comped (I'm summarizing). Mind you no one said anything about taking it off the check. It wasn't a big deal but interesting that no resolution was offered . Like she could've suggested to replace with something else. She basically just said she's not taking it off the check and that's it. Didn't ruin the experience for me but worth mentioning in case you're the type to send things back to the kitchen. Overall, good experience and I would return.
