Such a vibe! Pulled up with my male friend and we had the BEST time. Mike Jones (lol) is literally the best bartender on this side of town--hands down. His energy, customer service, and drink game? Top tier. The vibes were unmatched from start to finish. We'll definitely be back. Love it there!

Two beverages are held in a dark environment with neon signs visible in the background, suggesting a bar or lounge setting.

The service was good. Glad they added food to their menu. The ambience is nice but small.

It's a cool little shop with the best selection of wine and craft beer that no one has. I've been trying to find a place that doesn't care the same old selection with no rotations. This place has beers and breweries I've never heard of which is great for the fellow craft beer enthusiasts. They even have a growler/tasting bar! Eric behind the counter is a great guy with knowledge on beer. I'm still giving this place a 5 star review, even though I didn't get the 30% off from the 2 beers I picked off the rack. My fault for not remembering. Cheers!

I was welcomed upon entering and the worker behind the beer bar was very helpful. The store was well stocked up and I've never found it to be so crowded that it's hard to walk around. (Another plus is the local flowers from Local Color Flowers at the register. I've gotten them here in the summer and didn't realize they'd be available in December as well! Local flowers always last longer than big chain store flowers). I felt comfortable shopping at Pinehurst in regards to covid safety. All of the staff were wearing masks as were all of the customers that came in while I was there. Hand sanitizer is available by the entrance.

It's located within Belvedere Square and features your typical liquor store set up with shelves of booze and fridges full of chilled options as well as a bar and a few tables so you can enjoy cocktails, wine, and other items onsite. My boyfriend and I came in for a quick glass and enjoyed it. He said that the wine he selected tasted a bit corked to him. We didn't have much time to hang around but I'd come back to give it another shot. The bartender was really friendly and there were plenty of people there hanging out who seemed to be regulars which is always a good sign. You can also bring food in from neighboring stalls within Belvedere to enjoy at the bar.

That all changed last visit. There was a bartender we didn't know. First off I stood waiting at the deserted bar (with her attitude, it is no mystery why it was deserted) for 15 minutes while she sat in the back dining paperwork. Finally I get my first round as usual. We then come back to return the glasses and to purchase our sixer and get a couple of glasses. She snips, 'it's $2 per glass.' I told her, I don't want to keep the glasses, I just want to use them while we sit outside drinking the six pack we buy from you. 'Well we have a liquor license and we have expenses.' Expenses? For me to drink beer I bought there out of glasses I will bring back to the bar? Does it cost $2 each to wash the glasses? 'Well, we have expenses.' Ok, can i just use the glasses we got our first round in? Since you'll have to wash those at an expense of $2 per glass? 'I guess, whatever.' Ok, so at this point I had had enough. I asked her to just let me get two more drafts and we'll call it a day. 'Do you want to close that out or run a tab?' My reply, you can close it out, this is my farewell toast to (No longer) Grand Cru, I won't be back. Someone needs to go back to customer service school.

This is Puerto Rican pitorro, also known as ron cañita, made with care and intention rather than gimmickry. Many local liquor stores now carry the brand, and it is well worth picking up a bottle, but visiting the distillery is an experience in itself. The founder is a fellow Puerto Rican born retired military member, a background I share, and like me, he has put down roots in Maryland. That story is reflected clearly in the brand's own framing, "Puerto Rican born, Maryland made." The space feels grounded and unpretentious, and that sensibility carries through to the hospitality. We arrived late on a Saturday and were still welcomed warmly, never rushed. We were taken care of by the founder's daughter, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She guided us through a flight that included the traditional pitorro, almond, pineapple, coffee, coconut chai, and several seasonal offerings. The flavors were thoughtful and well balanced; even the infused expressions retained a clear rum backbone rather than drifting into novelty. We enjoyed them enough to leave with several bottles. This is artisanal pitorro done right, rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and confidently made in Maryland. Buying it locally is convenient, but going to the distillery is where the people, the story, and the spirit fully come together.
