We went to this tap house because their happy hour was over at 8pm. We really didn't need happy hour prices because this place was affordable. They had so many beers on tap I couldn't make up my mind. The bartender was super friendly, they knew we were from out of town because the majority of the customers are regulars. The regular customers were friendly and giving us suggestions. I actually felt like I was at home. There is no food but they have snacks, peanuts, cheese balls and pretzels. Small no frills bar but the bartenders are really friendly and make you feel like a regular from your first visit. They have great beer selections on tap and have even had southern tier pumking, one of my favorite beers. No kitchen but you can get food delivered and their cheese ball, pretzel snacks are much appreciated. Friendly neighborhood dogs come in and out of the bar to spice up the night. Personally, I feel this bar stands at least a head over the gajillion other bars in the area. You may find that when you first walk in, it has nothing special going for it... built into a rowhouse, a couple HDTVs, a pool table, and a jukebox filled with neglect. And of course, a ton of specials on tap. In fact, the specials here are normally of a higher caliber than that of other local bars. On game days, you can get a $3 pint of Resurrection while most other places give you watered down Bud Lite for $3. But that really isn't what makes this place so great. It's really what one could consider a community bar, a place where you get super cool staff which of course brings in super cool patrons. Having just moved here from out of town, I've never found the awkwardness of being the 'guy from out of town' when I walk in to this place. The bottom line is that this isn't a bar where you'll find undergrads partying it up, but instead a good group of Baltimore locals all having a good time with each other. The one downside is that there is no food. They have snacks to compensate, but it isn't going to go far if you haven't had dinner that night. read more

I met the owner John and he was so down-to-earth and happy as hell to living his dream. ok, i give in. i feel like recently i've been dealing 5-star ratings willy-nilly, but i can't help it -- this place is just great. had a different bartender this time who was just as friendly as the owner himself. beers were awesome as usual. i also really like the crowd here. i haven't actually delved into a lengthy conversation with anyone i didn't walk in with, but the people are just very warm, friendly, and polite, and it really makes for an inviting atmosphere. awesome job, taphouse. keep on keepin' on. read more

OK, so now I do live around this place. 2 blocks away so it has become more of a go to spot for me. Taps are always changing and you'll find a nice beer here for sure. Wish they had a heffe on tap though. They actually have Resurrection on tap for cheaper than you can get it at BA. I came in here a few times and was able to get a new punkin ale every time I was here. Last time I came in they were playing True Grit on the tv which made me feel like a manny man man while sipping my punkin ale. Bartenders know their beers and their role. Conversation is free and easy. For the quality of the beers they keep the price pretty reasonable. Check it. read more

Quite good local craft beer bar! Kinda run-of-the-mill appearance from the outside, and typical end rowhome layout inside. Been there twice, and appreciated the quality of what they have to offer, at quite reasonable prices that are even less at happy hour. Good place to catch the O's or Ravens, and hang out with some pals. The bar staff was efficient and fine, though in my experiences not quite as friendly as some other nearby places such as Chasseur and Laughing Pint. It's like "Cheers" in here! Bartender Brian is very welcoming. I got to experience Damien a little later. He's cool, too. It's a taphouse, folks, so no food, but they make it easy to order in, and have food from another establishment delivered right to your bar stool. They keep a "menu book" behind the bar so you've got plenty of options right at your fingertips. There are 7 screens so whatever game you're looking for, I'm sure they can accommodate. I love that this place opens at noon. There's tvs everywhere. The bartender Brian is very nice and overhearing his conversations with the other patrons makes me laugh. There's pool and Golden Tee and a great beer selection. No food but you can order from nearby places and they have most of the local take out menus there.
