The bar interior was classic food, with a huge main bar that showcased the many brew and spirit options. The bartenders were also spot on with their service and spot on beer suggestions. For food being so close to the waterfront had me craving some seafood, and the rockfish sandwich delivered with its Chesapeake seasoning and remoulade dressing. Each day of the week has a beer special at Max's, and Thursday meant that I was enjoying a discount on full pint cask pours. I liked that Max's had transparent pricing available for 4 oz to large pours and growlers to go on their menu for each and every draft beer, and the 4 oz pours made it easier to enjoy the 11% abv barleywine beer from a Baltimore brewery that I was curious about without feeling some extra inebriated repercussions during my ghost tour. Apparently he also had a rep for being rude and nasty. I will never eat there again. You have a kitchen with seafood and meats and have no food handling controls? Yeah, miss me with the risk of food poisoning or cross-contamination. No thank you! You're rude to customers and have no standards? Whoever runs the kitchen should know better as should the manager.
