A friend suggested we come to Max's for Sourfest 2026 and we had a blast! I'd never been to Max's before, so was unsure what to expect. The inside is more spacious than imagined. At the door, they checked IDs and explained the whole way to sample the many beers with some notecards for writing down the corresponding number and the size for each beer, and a little space to take some notes on what we thought of each. It seems like they regularly have a lot of beers on tap anyway, but they do have several beer fests throughout the year (Hopfest is in August!) with over 60 offerings of a particular style of brew. And even if you want to come in and want a different style, they still have plenty of those to try as well. We got some food to go with all that beer - the Tater platter was solid bar food with tots, cheese, and bacon. Would get again. Likewise, they run a hot dog special when the Orioles are playing and you can get a hot dog for cheap. Ample seating at the bar and surrounding tables. Bathroom was clean. The bartenders took food and drink orders and different carriers bring food to you. They move quick and are friendly. Prices are fair.

We came here for the Christmas pop-up to grab a drink and a snack before we headed to a neighbor's Christmas party. The decor was fantastic and so cozy, the service was great, every staff member we interacted with was friendly. We had a mix of cocktails, whiskey, and beer, plus some delicious, hot, and fresh fried tenders. I still haven't made it here for a full meal, I look forward to coming back in 2026 and updating my review!

This is one of our go to spots and is a can't miss if you're visiting Baltimore. With 100+ beer taps there's something amazing for everyone. (They do also have cocktails, cans, and regular drinks, but I will judge you .) The bartenders here are top notch and know their beers. On Friday night we went here late and I did not have any idea what I wanted, but Jaime served me two amazing beers with just a few suggestions of styles from me. He's 10/10 every time we see him The only thing slightly lacking is their bar food. We don't generally eat here but they do have a nice menu with everything from nachos to pulled pork. I do love their tater bowl! Finally, the space is very large, they have several bars and an upstairs. Plenty of TVs to watch sports, lots of tables and plenty of bar space. If you are coming for a beer fest make sure to get in early to get a seat at the bar for the best beer and service in town.

Chimay x4 on tap. I like that. Playing some punk music during the day. Attentive bartender. Bald tattooed punk playlist playing gentleman. Made me happy. Even happier sitting in a sunny window.

Just an update that this place is still amazing! Love coming here for beers and for the events they have. The bartenders are fantastic, the selection of beers and liquor are great, and love their chili, cornbread, and quesadillas! Always a great place to hang out!

Visiting Baltimore and I chose this place for the many recommendations it has on its "pit sandwich". Aside from blue crab, Maryland/Baltimore is also known for this sandwich consisting of roast beef. Max's takes this a step further with an option it also add smoked turkey. Sunday afternoon the Ravens are playing and even with that I was able to get a seat at the bar where I was promptly asked what I'd like to drink. After a quick look I got a local Maryland beer and ordered the pit sandwich with both roast beef and smoked turkey. The beer was fantastic and the sandwich ok, nothing spectacular about it considering it was $16. I do feel like it needs a sauce of some type to really bring it together and for $1 you can add an aoilo and onions to it. It took 30 minutes for me to get the sandwich which I had to ask the bartender to check on it for me. When my food was brought out I touched it to check the temperature, the exposed meat was cold and the meat between the bun was slightly warm as we're the tots, so I feel like it sat for a long time. Definitely spend the extra $1 for that aoilo and onions

Love a good pub service! Makes ordering easy. All staff was great, friendly and attentive. Great vibes from the staff to decor which created a comfortable atmosphere but still unique. Beer selection is awesome- a good mix of local and international. We tried The Pit Sandwich- turkey - chef's spicy special - it's a MUST order! The turkey on its own was flavorful and cooked well - the combination with the other flavors of the sandwich were exquisite. I'm still thinking about the sandwich and wish I lived closer so I could have it again. We will be back next time we are in fells point.

Max's is my go-to happy hour/big friend group hang out spot. They have amazing cocktails and also the best beer menu around so everyone is happy. The space is huge so you can spread out and take over an area if you like. They always have the important games on and the vibes are always so chill and fun. The bartenders are funny and offer great suggestions.

Max's is one of my favorite spots in Baltimore. I got the raspberry sour which was amazing. The service was fast and the bar had a great vibe.

A solid spot to meet up with friends in the Fells Point area. There's lots of seats and TV's perfect for watching a game. I had an orange crush during my most recent visit and the prices were great (compared to DC lol) and the bartender was friendly. I personally didn't have any food but everyone around me looked like they were enjoying. They offer typical bar food, no frills but solid food. Highly recommend, just sometimes parking can be tricky in this area.

Max's is an old faithful of mine! I have been here countless times for nights out and to watch Raven's games. The food is decent bar food and they have a huge selection of beer, alongside cocktails and wine. They also offer karaoke on Friday night's which is a lot of fun as well. This is a good spot to hang with friends and family, and it's good for a large group!

Very casual pub. Feels exactly how you'd expect. Ordering could be tricky when it is full, because they do it publicly style & you order from the bartenders. Thankfully it wasn't too too busy when I was there. The pit beef sandwich is insane.. It's seriously so good! Get it with the horseradish aioli and fried onions. Chips are perfectly crisp and on the thick side. Everything is seasoned well. I don't drink, but didn't feel out of place here.. If you like beer this is the place for you. They have more beer selections than anywhere I have seen. Will be back when I'm in Baltimore again.

Great old-school bar, Great music every day!…read more We are always happy when we can catch a band at Cats Eye Pub in Fells Point Baltimore. Lots of rock and some americana. We were even happier to catch a blues band the other day! (Jun 2026). Charlie Owen & Pocket Change gave a great performance, with some well-known songs and a number of good more-obscure ones. It's fun when they feature one or another band member for a riff. We also love the divey character of the bar, while the crowd is more hip than divey. It's dark and gets crowded. The stools at the bar and by the windows always fill up. The ones along the wall come and go. The dance floor is usually packed. There's a room in back with a few tables, too, and you can hear the band from there, too. The bar has a full selection. They have around two dozen beers on tap, mostly crafts, some standards. Morgan pulled us a Snowball Sour draft from Dundalk's Key Brewing. It was smooth and creamy, only lightly sour, a fairly mild flavor, but well-balanced and pleasant. Steven served us a Banhez Mezcal, nicely flavored, rather mild in that trend to over-refine the bite out of agave spirits. He brought out a tequila that he likes, though i dont recall the name, also smooth and not bitey. We ended with a pure shot of Absolut Peppar, normally an ingredient to add some spice to bloody marys. On its own, there really is no spice, just the dark and slightly bitter bite of jalapeño and black pepper. We love Cat's Eye Pub! It's one of very few spots for blues in Baltimore.

Maybe I take Yelp too seriously. But it's a bummer when I see a review that praises the food, service and decor then rates 3 stars. (To re-use my joke, "3 out of 5 on Yelp isn't good, it isn't a work performance review). I have struggled with my Duda's review since August since I would strongly recommend it but I'm also price-cautious. To make matters worse I don't remember the exact crab market price but it was possibly $31 or $32 for one and low $50s for two (fact-checkers welcome). The crab cake was superb. All killer, no filler. The potato salad was very good. While I didn't love the price/volume I can't claim expertise on market prices and If you look at the drink prices this is clearly not a ripoff place. Possibly it's a better deal if you're with a group and can split some apps. In line with my slow education that Baltimore has more than the Inner Harbor, Duda's had a spectacular sense of place. It was a rare experience in feeling like a true locals place that is friendly to tourists. There's no record scratch and "you ain't from around here." The waiter was excellent and was impressively emphatic about the crab cakes.

While menu items are constantly changing, the quality and flavors remain top tier. Fresh and locally sourced food prepared in house. Tried a few menu items while sitting at the bar. Chorizo and Egg and the smoked trout. The chorizo was excellent but I'm still raving about that trout. This is a classic scotch bar with original motifs of solid wood throughout the Wren. I've been eyeing this place for a bit and due to the nature of walk ins hadn't been able to make it in. They recently opened up reservations on Tock so I snapped one up. Even if you don't really drink this pub is still a nice dinner/date night outing. Will say some of the seating was a little uncomfortable (both my bf and the gentlemen next to us are over 6 feet tall but sat on tiny chair/stools) but that might have been the only negative. We were not super hungry so we decided to share a lighter plate and an entree. While the menu does change almost day to day sometimes I do believe the cheese and chutney plate is a constant. Two cheeses, some chutney, butter, spicy brown english mustard and rye bread. So simple but so delicious. I could have eaten that by myself. For the entree we split a half poussin (a quail?) which was served with borlatti beans and an aioli. Again everything was really yummy. I'd come back to the Wren again. We had a nice time and even though we don't really drink (it is primarily a pub and I am sure people there to grab drinks only love their experience) I enjoyed the food. I understand why this place is so highly regarded.
