The restaurant looks lovely inside. I came with 3 others; we shared the alla norma pizza, bianca pizza, chicken al forno, side of tomat, and tiramisu. All were delicious! The chicken was a standout -- juicy, expertly flavored, delicious and plentiful sauce, yum. And unlike so many restaurants in Baltimore, this one seems to understand how to salt their food.
Both pizzas were also good. The alla norma's charred eggplant chunks were packed with flavor, like little sausage pieces. No cheese on that one, and I didn't miss it. The tomat (about 1/3 cup of sauce) was incredibly -- though not overly -- smoky. You can also get a side of ricotta or ranch to go with your pizza. Pizza bianca was also good, with spicy pickled fresnos.
The tiramisu was presented in a frosted metal coupe. It was creamy, with lots of cocoa powder (maybe a little too much?), and very light on the espresso/liquor, so the ladyfingers were still a bit cakey. My friend got an espresso, which was given to her in a rocks/big espresso glass. It was fruity and smelled great.
The negroni bianco was fabulous! Would absolutely drink again, very well-executed cocktail. The yuzuade was also delicious. Nice little wine list overall. The 'pizza red' was meh, but luckily, the wine selections seem to frequently change.
Service was good. Prices are a liiiiittle bit more than what I want to pay for a 12" pizza. But I guess that's true of most restaurants now. I'll definitely be back! read more
