Austin took excellent care of me last weekend when I stopped in for a bite to eat on a rainy Saturday afternoon. He is so friendly and a great mixologist as I sat at his bar and witnessed his prowess around the bar. My spicy Bloody Mary was delicious and the Hugo Spritz sent me into my late afternoon ready to relax through my nail appointment. The kitchen seems to be putting out great food left & right as I watched many happy guests enjoying both brunch items and regular menu items. I loved my crunch chicken tenders, battered by hand most definitely in their kitchen. The two sauces were yummy - a honey mustard that was more on the mustard side and a delicious chipotle sauce that had a super good kick to it! This was a cool way to have fun after work! I opted for the watercolor experience and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The cherry on top was the amazing food! I ordered the house burger. It was juicy with the *perfect* amount of onions. My friend ordered a chimichurri steak. According to her, it hit the spot. She also ordered the coco colada - she said they put their foot in that drink lol. The bartender was extremely friendly and helpful. The cute decor sealed the deal for me. I will be returning. i came here with a large crew of about 10 people for my birthday. you can't book reservations directly on their website, but you can over email. the process was streamlined enough. they reserved a table for us and talked us through their large party rules before we sat down. i got the pink pony for my bev. it was cute looking, but man was it STRONG. i nursed it for the rest of the night. for my food, i ordered the pita and hummus platter which came with carrots and celery. i loved the crunchy chickpeas on top, and the portion was large enough for it to be filling. i ended up doing watercolor, which they allow 3 paintings with. over the course of the next 3 hours i painted all sorts of things. my friends and i had a really great time with all of the artistic offerings. also, this seems like a great first date spot, which means a great spot for me to listen to other people's first dates. read more

All of the drinks here are so good! I'm shocked this place isn't more popular... and the food is really good too! There's street parking around but depending on how late you get in it can be difficult to find. The space is art bar esque so lots of space on the tables for crafting! The service is great your order at the bar and they bring the food to you or you get your drinks at the bar -- it's convenient for groups so you don't have to worry about splitting checks, just handling your tab! read more

The fries were amazing, I had the blueberry lemon bar and it was so good if you're like me and not a heavy drinker and like things on the lighter end that's just for you. The bartender was really quick with getting our drinks out and our fries-great service. The overall atmosphere and ambiance was really artsy and kind of a mid century/art-deco inspired vibe to it and just very inviting. This is one of my favorite bars in Baltimore!! Meander is an artsy bar that has awesome events all the time! There are art workshops, drag events, and general get togethers that make this a hub for creatives in the area. I recently went to a Drag Bingo event which is always a hoot. On non-event days, you can pay for art materials such as coloring books, clay, beading, or painting. Whenever I go, I always get a craft cocktail--my favorite is the Pina Colada--but they have a long list of interesting and diverse drinks for everyone. They even have a hefty list of mocktails for all the non-alcohol friends. On top of that, they have some small eats like fries, salads, or sandwiches if you're feeling hungry. The truffle and parm fries are delicious! Service is quick and no-nonsense. You order at the bar, and if you walk away they will call your drink so you can pick it up. A cute concept and a nice place to have a drink with friends after work! Stopped by to catch up with some friends and we really enjoyed our time at Meander! I think there was a jewelry making class on the day that I was there, which seems like a fun thing to do. There are several crochet kits and other things you could buy and work on while you enjoy a cocktail or mocktail! While the cocktails all look good, and certainly the cactus cooler tastes good, the price of $16 is a little steep. The mocktails cost almost as much as the cocktails, which was surprising. read more

Ever since the former 1801 bar closed, it seems this location can't seem to hold onto a concept for long - it was an Italian spot for a hot second, a tiki place called Jungle Room which didn't last long either, but then along came Meander. And for the sake of the neighborhood and all of Baltimore, I sure hope Meander is here to stay. It's such a cute spot with a much needed concept. The idea is that you can select from a number of art kits while enjoying cocktails and food. They have everything from painting kits, beading kits, and much more. There's also plenty of art for sale from local artists, too. My boyfriend and I came by on a Sunday morning for brunch. I ordered the hash bowl which came with fried egg, smashed potatoes, caramelized onions, cheese, scallions, and a delicious serving of flavorful meat - I chose the pastrami-spiced smoked beef which was insanely good. Looking at the menu now, it doesn't appear that this option is available anymore (or maybe their brunch menu just isn't on the website?), but it was really very good. I'd definitely go back to try more of the menu! They're always doing cool events too. read more

I love this concept! If you're a creative, a wannabe creative, or just looking for a unique bar concept, I highly recommend this spot. The bar offers the usual suspects when it comes to cocktails but also offers its own unique variations as well as a healthy mocktail selection. The bartender, whose name escapes me at the moment, was pleasant and attentive--and created a few of the cocktails! The allure of Meander though is it's encouragement of creativity. You can purchase clay, coloring books, watercolor kits, charcoal and more to work on while you chat with your company. I recently attended their Art Club Nite where you can bring whatever crafty piece you're working on and mingle with likeminded artistic people, get inspired, and learn some new things. Of course, no experience needed, so bring whatever art ability you have. I grabbed a fig mocktail and an order of some of the best fries I've had in a long while and snagged a table to work on my embroidery. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were really nice. I even met some other creatives that invited me to their table to mingle with them since I was by myself. I'm happy to have such a creative new hangout in the area. I love the idea of this place! I went in for a specific class but I noticed that they just have regular art supplies for people to buy and craft. I am always looking for a reason to get out of the house that isnt just a regular happy hour so this really itches the creative part of my brain. I tried a few things on the menu that gets me excited to come back. The cocktail menu is really inventive and the bar staff understands the spirits they carry which is important if you want to go off menu. I also had a latte and while they could carry more syrup flavors it was made just the way I like it. As far as food, I had a burger which was decent but the fries could have been fried a lot longer. I did hear great things about the mozzarella sticks so those will be up next time. read more

This is the cutest spot! It's got a great mix of activities to choose from in their art bar, including bead bracelets, charcoal drawing and air dry clay. Adding to the artsy vibe, there are paintings by local artists hung on the wall (which you can buy!) and records in the corner. They have like 7 or 8 tables to sit at, a corner booth, and a long bar. Great place to come with friends, on a date, at any time of day. It got pretty busy on a Friday night with a high buzz ambiance, but not crazy loud. Plus, Meander is open almost all day - I'll likely come here for a study session some time and stay for a drink after Out of the three things I got, the pita & hummus was my favorite by far. This is truly one of the best additions I've seen to the community and I've been here for just about a year! Apparently, this place used to be called Saunters art bar and now it is Meander Art Bar! It's just like what it sounds like. It's a bar that also has art workshops, creative nights, and community events. Everything from trivia to pop-up dining nights, coloring books and everything in between. I feel like this is something that people didn't even know that they needed and now that it's here I think it's going to be extremely popular! I tried some of the food from cocina Luchadores (they are a pop up vendor in the kitchen) and it was fantastic!! I got the fish tacos and my partner got the burrito bowl and let me just say that the burrito bowl is sized very generously and my tacos were juicy and flavorful! I heard that they recently added Wi-Fi to this establishment, which means that I am definitely going to be coming here to work on my remote work days ! I couldn't be more excited that this is a part of the neighborhood and I'll definitely be there again and again. read more

It is 9pm March 24th.. this is my first and maybe last time being here. The bartender is completely to blame! He was very rude he didn't speak he didn't greet me as I walked to the bar, he didn't even come over to ask if I needed anything. Customer service came off as very prejudiced. I was immediately turned off. I gave the two stars for the ambiance. Very nice establishment but this guy needs a stern talking to about his customer service.. and some extra training. read more

I've been to Meander Art Bar, previously known as Saunter Corner Bar, a few times now; most recently for their grand opening as Meander Art Bar and for their Lunar New Year celebration. Each time I have visited, the food and drinks have been spectacular. Knowing the grand opening was expected to be busy, I was prepared for lines and wait times for food/drinks. Despite the wait, which wasn't that long, my food was freshly cooked (hot) and so dang good. Everyone at my table ordered a burger and we all had the same sentiment after the first bite - "this is a REALLY good burger!" I had a similar experience with food at the Lunar New Year celebration - we ended up ordering everything on the menu - no regrets. Everything was well prepared and incredibly tasty. I haven't stopped thinking about the cilantro cocktail since. I love that they have reusable art kits on site. I did not use a kit during the opening, I did look at one and things seem pretty straight forward. Your instructions and most of your supplies are in the kit, with a designated area for the items that get used (ex: paper). I observed them being used during the opening as well and it seemed like everyone was having a great time. The space is a decent size, well decorated, has a cozy-welcoming vibe, and is a great place to get together with your friends; and do arts and crafts.
