We've stopped by Riverside a couple of times now and have enjoyed our food. It's homey tavern food done right. The first time I recall having a shrimp salad sandwich which was the special of the day served with fries and it was a good portion. The second time around I got the cheese steak with whiz and I wasn't as big a fan of this. I actually ended up switching with my bf who got a tuna salad which tasted fresh and had bits of candied pecans which offset the pepperiness of the tuna crust. Service is always fast and friendly- a good neighborhood place to stop in for drinks and tavern ish fare. More a 3.5 than a 3. (Wish Yelp would implement half stars :/) read more

I ordered on DD and when I received my food the chicken was still hot which I appreciated. I ordered a Caesar salad with crispy chicken. The chicken was crispy but not seasoned at all!! Very very very bland which is so disappointing. Why don't places season their chicken??? Or maybe they surface season and don't let it marinate. The chicken isn't directly on the lettuce when you receive it though, which is smart so the heat won't wilt the lettuce. The lettuce was crispy and good amount of cheese. It was shaved and crumpled Parmesan, I believe. Croutons were good but the dressing was okay. I think it was made in house, definitely taste the anchovies but something was missing. We had such a great time at Riverside Taphouse. We loved the music that was playing, which was a mix of older rock songs. There is also plenty of seating and we were seated immediately on a late Friday night. We started with a bowl of the Crab, Corn & Clam Chowder which was DELICIOUS! It was so chunky and creamy. This is probably one of my favorite chowders I've had. Next, we ordered the Cuban sandwich which was also pretty good! I love how fresh and crisp the ciabatta was. We upgraded to Brussels sprouts and those were nice and on the sweeter side. We got the duck fat fried donut holes and those were sooooo delicious! We waited a while before the waitress took our order. She was working the bar area and the restaurant on a Monday night, but the food was good and I would go back. I had the nachos with pulled pork and the pork had an amazing flavor. I also ordered French onion soup, which was meh. We ordered the four meat eggrolls as an appetizer they were OK and the chili, which tasted store-bought versus homemade. I just had a taste for pizza and figured that would satisfy it, but I can never say no to bar nachos. My friend had a burger and fries. The burger was greasy, but who doesn't love a greasy burger! It was pretty tasty. The doughnut dessert was more cakey than doughy. It was OK. I ate one and a half. I think my friend might've had one. She didn't care too much for it. We also ordered a few drinks from the bar which tasted it a little watered down. Overall, I would go back to this place, but I don't know if it would be my go-to place and I wouldn't order any drinks from the bar, but I would definitely get the burger and nachos with pulled pork. read more

My bf and I had 30 mins to kill and stopped by for a quick afternoon bite. There's lots of street parking nearby and the inside was casual, spacious, and clean with lots of tables and TVs inside. We came hungry and thirsty and Riverside Taphouse delivered in a major way! Corner bar and restaurant in the Federal Hill area. Hi top table and bar seating in a comfy and happening atmosphere. So many sizes for their drinks- cool option to have especially for happy hour times and crushes SO GOOD! Our waitress was the sweetest ever and provided wonderful service. She explained all our drink and food options as we ordered. The food is VERY good and it is a pretty big menu offering a lot of options. We opted for the ahi tuna nachos which were HUGE! I was impressed with this dish not because of the size (as it was a full meal not an appetizer unless sharing it) but because of how perfect they dressed these nachos. Tons of tuna and all the other ingredients- added wonder- grilled pineapple, nice touch! Sometimes nachos lack one ingredient but these had some of each element on all of the wonton chips. Highly recommend if you love tuna like I do! Well done- I can imagine their other nachos are equally done as well! The rest of the table got wings- awesome juicy and fried to perfection. Homemade blue cheese dressing- YES! No jarred dressing here, all homemade- another bonus point for Riverside! Macaroni and cheese was divine said my child and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his cheesesteak which could come with a variety of fries or a side salad. He wanted greens so he got them. I love when places offer this as an option. This place was a home run meal for us all!. My family said- make sure you do a Yelp review- too funny! I wish I could give this place more than five stars. My goodness were they so incredibly accommodating for our party of eleven. We first had checked out Shoyou Sushi. Right off the bat, they said they could not and would not serve us. Their loss, Riverside Taphouse's gain. Danny helped us the entire evening. Since we had two toddlers, we weren't very comfortable sitting on the high tops. So he gladly got the tables outside ready for all of us to sit. The food was all incredible. My only update from the last review is that this remains one of the best food spots in the city. Great place to watch a ravens game or just grab some drinks and food with friends. I always upgrade to truffle fries (worth it), and the breads and meats for the sandwiches are always so delicious. We ended up sitting outdoors to enjoy our food and drinks but next time, I visit , I'll definitely check the out the inside vibes. Any homemade mix has my heart. The crab dip NEEDS a better bread or maybe switch to tortilla chips, the loaf that currently comes with it is so minescule it does not really work for a shared appetizer. Different Cheesesteak #1201. I got the White Truffle Lamb Cheesesteak. 1st my old man rant, I can't believe what people are paying for craft beer/food. 'Do you want sweet potato fries with that?' Implied fries come with the cheesesteak. Back to our regularly scheduled review. I love what is going on down on the Baltimore Peninsula. I saw 'Baltimore Peninsula' painted on the side of a building so I assumed they were talking about the area I was in. Fun place, good crowd and good energy. The description of the WTL cheesesteak sounded very good. It did not pass the eye test. I expected the roll to be sub (philly) par and it was. It didn't look good but it tasted amazing. All the parts worked very well together. The sweet potato fries were probably worth the extra $2.50. $20 for the WTL Cheesesteak, $2.50 for fries and $8.75 for a draft. If you follow me you know I am not a fan of these prices. With that said, I will be back to try the Short Rib Grilled Cheese and Mac & Beer Cheese w/crumbled bacon. Went to this place last weekend after a event downtown. I wasn't ready to go home yet and it was absolutely beautiful day out. We decided to sit outside because it was nice out and we wanted to enjoy the e scenery. We both had the beer flights which allows us to try different beers and see what we liked. They were 4oz pours too! Really good choices though I forgot to take a picture of my beer list lol. My favorite part of the visit was the beer and the pastrami egg rolls. A neighborhood spot/Bar and they were busy around 7 on a Friday night with all of the outside tables taken when I arrived. Ordered pickup at the restaurant and while waiting saw many picking up. An upbeat atmosphere/vibe with a younger crowd. Saw TVs also so a good spot for the game? How could we not order the Mac n Cheese with Bacon Egg Rolls?! Great in theory/presentation but they were okay. Maybe our expectations were too high. That said, worth a try. The Lamb Truffle Cheesesteak didn't disappoint! So much Lamb stuffed in the Pretzel Sub roll and subtle Truffle taste in the cheese take it over the top. This one is a winner! That said, the Bistro Steak Sandwich stole the show! Tender Steak that stood on its own and made for an amazing sandwich! The Fat Boy Fried Chicken was okay with the fried jalapeños standing out. I rarely make the trek down to Fed Hill because parking down there stresses me out, but I'm glad I made it down to try this fried chicken sandwich contender. Riverside Taphouse is a great place to eat during this covid landscape on a nice day because the big open window doors make you feel like you're outside when you're inside. Alas, I just dropped in to pick up an order to go because I had a date with Second Chance. I ordered their Fried Chicken sammie and spicy guava margarita. The chicken was juicy and the flavors of the fried jalapeños and spicy chipotle aioli were fantastic. I probably should have gone with a sweeter beverage because the spicy guava marg felt over spiced in this combo but probably would have been perfectly balanced with another food option. I also stole a bite of my partners Swiss cheese omelette. Light and fluffy with a hearty amount of cheese. Good stuff. There aren't too many vegetarian options for my partner so it may be hard to convince him to go back, but I was pleased! read more
