nachos with chicken
Zayn D.

Speedy service with good food! The nachos were a good flavor combo - I'd love to try with pulled pork next time! I love the fried chicken Caesar wraps - though the chicken pieces can be too big but love them nonetheless and hits the spot. The fries... ARE AMAZING. Idk what they do but the fries are so tasty. I like to have mine with a side of Caesar dressing. Also had the Brussels sprouts and they are coated in a tangy sweet and savory sauce that's really good.

Food is pub food but the smashburgers are perfectly seasoned. Fries are similar to Five Guys. There is a bar and people seem friendly. One guy who lives across the street gave up his non permit parking spot so we could park, and took our permit spot we weren't supposed to park in. We thought that was so kind. Water tastes filtered. Bathroom is one stall. Mac and cheese egg rolls are ok but come with delicious warm vodka sauce I ended up using for my fries.

Cuban with Brussels sprouts

We had such a great time at Riverside Taphouse. We loved the music that was playing, which was a mix of older rock songs. There is also plenty of seating and we were seated immediately on a late Friday night. We started with a bowl of the Crab, Corn & Clam Chowder which was DELICIOUS! It was so chunky and creamy. This is probably one of my favorite chowders I've had. Next, we ordered the Cuban sandwich which was also pretty good! I love how fresh and crisp the ciabatta was. We upgraded to Brussels sprouts and those were nice and on the sweeter side. We got the duck fat fried donut holes and those were sooooo delicious! The icing was great and the donut holes themselves were nice and dense. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area!

AMBIANCE- 4/5. If you don't like loud environments or close seating, this may not be your place. I expected this place to be a bit more spacious but I had no issue with it, nor did my girls! We were seated at a round high top table and it was plenty space for us. SERVICE- 5/5 our waiter was absolutely the best. He made great recommendations and he was hilarious! Hopefully next time, he'll be our server again! FOOD- 4/5 Brussels sprouts were absolutely amazing, they were so good!! Crab dip was good in the beginning but ended up just being no crab and just really creamy dip. I'd still get it again as an app. DRINKS- 5/5 they were tasty and they were strong, loved it Definitely would come back here for a quick bite before going out for the night! Had a nice experience.

We waited a while before the waitress took our order. She was working the bar area and the restaurant on a Monday night, but the food was good and I would go back. I had the nachos with pulled pork and the pork had an amazing flavor. I also ordered French onion soup, which was meh. We ordered the four meat eggrolls as an appetizer they were OK and the chili, which tasted store-bought versus homemade. I just had a taste for pizza and figured that would satisfy it, but I can never say no to bar nachos. My friend had a burger and fries. The burger was greasy, but who doesn't love a greasy burger! It was pretty tasty. The doughnut dessert was more cakey than doughy. It was OK. I ate one and a half. I think my friend might've had one. She didn't care too much for it. We also ordered a few drinks from the bar which tasted it a little watered down. Overall, I would go back to this place, but I don't know if it would be my go-to place and I wouldn't order any drinks from the bar, but I would definitely get the burger and nachos with pulled pork.

Cheeseburger egg rolls and crab egg rolls

My bf and I had 30 mins to kill and stopped by for a quick afternoon bite. There's lots of street parking nearby and the inside was casual, spacious, and clean with lots of tables and TVs inside. We ordered the cheeseburger egg rolls, crab egg rolls, and Guinness on tap. Egg rolls came out really fast and were delicious but portions were a bit small for the price - would be nice if they had happy hour deals for appetizers. Overall a nice place to grab a casual bite.

Crab nachos

I was on a little "crab food tour," so I came to try their crab nachos. The nachos were not at all what I thought they would be, so it took me a while to get oriented to the flavor. I thought they would be an old bay flavor, but they had a more Asian inspired flavor profile, with wontons as the nacho base versus tortillas. I didn't dislike them. It just wasn't what I expected. The service was good and the bar vibe was chill. I'll have to come back and try some other things in the future to give a more detailed review!

Went for brunch- was delicious! They have a nice sized brunch menu and brunch drinks. They offer large sizes of mimosas for a good price, but don't do bottomless. Would definitely recommend! I had the fat boy fried skillet which was delicious and filling.

Shrimp soba roll

Shrimp SoBa rolls were Excellent! Consisted of crispy fried shrimp in a soft buttery roll. Honey garlic Brussel sprouts were incredible ! I do not recommend the crab nachos - everything is flavorless. Crab needed to be seasoned separately then added. Staff was super nice. It is loud but you can still talk. It's a typical sports bar with high top tables

Ahi Tuna Nachos- HUGE

We came hungry and thirsty and Riverside Taphouse delivered in a major way! Corner bar and restaurant in the Federal Hill area. Hi top table and bar seating in a comfy and happening atmosphere. So many sizes for their drinks- cool option to have especially for happy hour times and crushes SO GOOD! Our waitress was the sweetest ever and provided wonderful service. She explained all our drink and food options as we ordered. The food is VERY good and it is a pretty big menu offering a lot of options. We opted for the ahi tuna nachos which were HUGE! I was impressed with this dish not because of the size (as it was a full meal not an appetizer unless sharing it) but because of how perfect they dressed these nachos. Tons of tuna and all the other ingredients- added wonder- grilled pineapple, nice touch! Sometimes nachos lack one ingredient but these had some of each element on all of the wonton chips. Highly recommend if you love tuna like I do! Well done- I can imagine their other nachos are equally done as well! The rest of the table got wings- awesome juicy and fried to perfection. Homemade blue cheese dressing- YES! No jarred dressing here, all homemade- another bonus point for Riverside! Macaroni and cheese was divine said my child and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his cheesesteak which could come with a variety of fries or a side salad. He wanted greens so he got them. I love when places offer this as an option. This place was a home run meal for us all!. My family said- make sure you do a Yelp review- too funny! You cannot go wrong with Riverside Taphouse, they provide amazing service, fresh drinks in all sizes, a wonderful menu with excellent food done to perfection. When we are back in Baltimore, my family said this is a must visit- enough said!

My only update from the last review is that this remains one of the best food spots in the city. Great place to watch a ravens game or just grab some drinks and food with friends. I always upgrade to truffle fries (worth it), and the breads and meats for the sandwiches are always so delicious. The cheesesteak is my absolute fave and their orange crushes, but I don't think you could go wrong with literally anything on the menu.

Visited Riverhouse Taphouse to meet up with a friend for Happy Hour and really enjoyed myself. The food was amazing, the staff super nice and helpful and the drinks were great at well. We ended up sitting outdoors to enjoy our food and drinks but next time, I visit , I'll definitely check the out the inside vibes. I know I saw TV screens on the inside, so it might be a good idea for me to go back and catch a game.

We had the oysters, the 18oz NY strip, squid ink pasta, lobster ravioli, tiramisu, and the chocolate mousse dessert (cannot remember the name at this moment). The dry aged steak was to die for and was definitely our favorite of the main entrees. Dessert wise the chocolate mousse was incredible! They're made like slushies and are strong (2 of these and you will be done for the evening) The wine is okay!! though not necessarily the highlight in my opinion. When we arrived, we were the only ones there, and there was one staff member working. That said, she came over immediately, brought us menus, and made the experience feel welcoming right away. We had to ask about tastings and she poured us about four different wines to try, which was a really nice touch and made the experience feel relaxed. We liked a few of the wines and ended up purchasing a bottle of Honor Cava Brut Rosato for $32.99. Solid choice. Nothing mind-blowing, but enjoyable and fairly priced for the setting. The space itself felt calm and cozy, especially with the fireplace and wine displays, but at the time we were there it didn't have a ton of energy or buzz. To be fair, it was early in the day, so I can absolutely see this place feeling very different in the evening or on a weekend when the patio and waterfront vibe are in full swing. V-NO is a pleasant, low pressure wine stop with friendly service, a thoughtful tasting experience, and a beautiful waterfront location. It may not scream "vibes" during slower daytime hours, but it's an easy place to relax, learn what you like, and enjoy a glass (or a bottle) without feeling rushed. I'd definitely come back later in the day to see it come to life.

I went an hour early before everyone else was supposed to be there to get on the waitlist, but the wait was until 10 pm!! So I quickly switched gears and called Benny's because I've heard great things about them. The gentlemen who answered the phone was so kind, and was able to squeeze us in on the fly on a Saturday night, and they weren't slow. Got there super early because I was already in the area, and my wife and I decided to have an old fashioned and an espresso martini at the bar while we waited and they were excellent. The ambiance was upscale but still managed to be relaxed and comfortable. We had a lovely dinner, the waiter was busy but was still attentive and patient. Our whole experience was awesome, so we were already going back in the future. Yesterday I realized a mistake on my bank account from the bar charge, so I called around 6 pm and spoke to the same gentlemen as before. He got all my info and promised he'd call back in 5 minutes. I didn't really expect 5 minutes because I know how crazy the dinner rush would be at an Italian restaurant with a Wednesday wine special. Not even 3 minutes later he called back, and explained what happened, fixed it and I got a follow up text immediately letting us know the refund was already in process. Now, I've been in the service industry and I was a bartender, so I understand that I'm going to be a little biased here but from beginning to end Benny's went above and beyond. They clearly appreciate their customers and love their work, it shows.

My girl quite hilariously said that the bread was tragically authentic, LOL! She's not wrong, it was pretty hard but it was also very good. Their menu might be classic French, but none of the entrees spoke to me. It was a warm late spring/almost summer night, and I found their menu to be heavy and not very seasonal. I wanted something lighter, something more spring. Since the entrees weren't calling to us, we stuck to the small plates/hors d'oeuvres section of the menu and shared: Potato & Leek Soup (butter croutons and garlic chive oil); Salad Lyonnaise (soft boiled egg, bacon lardons, endive, frisee, and radishes); tableside beef tartare (verjus mustard, capers, tomato, truffle); short rib pappardelle (truffled egg yolk, red onion, Parmesan, and short rib ragu); and Iberico Secreto (apple butter, macerated cranberries, hazelnuts, and microsage). Of these, I'd say we enjoyed the soup and the iberico the best. The beef tartare wasn't cut/diced or mixed very well despite the very fun tableside preparation. The pasta had a truffle oil pungency that isn't for us, so I wouldn't order that dish again, but otherwise the food was pretty good. I do think there is better French food in Baltimore, but Monarque offers something special. The service is great. The wine and cocktails are great. The decor is cool. But best of all? Thursday-Sunday, Monarque hosts Monarque After Dark. Burlesque, cabaret, live jazz music... At Monarque, it's dinner with a show. The performers we saw were great. Monarque After Dark made our night. If the food didn't blow me away, the experience still did. FYI the music is quite loud, so I wouldn't recommend dinner at Monarque if you prefer a quieter dinner! We had a great time at Monarque. I'd certainly return - next time for some drinks, oysters, and shrimp cocktails and the show!
