I had dinner with my husband and had a nice time. It's a new Mexican restaurant in the updated Cross Keys. Although Oaxaca is in its name, I didn't find the menu to be particularly Oaxacan (there was is one mole dish). It has dishes from around Mexico to Tex-Mex dishes. Despite the regional nod in the name of the restaurant, I think the menu is fairly standard Mexican fare for restaurants in America. We had two starters: taquitos de pollo (shredded chicken wrapped in a fried corn tortilla on a bed of guacamole topped with queso fresco, Mexican crema, and red cabbage) and aguachile de camaron (shrimp marinated with lime juice, red onion, serrano, and cilantro; topped with fried tortilla strips, cucumber, avocado slices, and a side of tortilla chips). Both were good versions of dishes I enjoy. Next, we had the Luna Caesar Salad (grilled romaine lettuce, fried tortilla strips, homemade Mexican Caesar dressing) with added grilled chicken, which was good, too (the dressing tasted pretty traditional to me, but the salad was good overall - they didn't skimp on the chicken; I think the salad ended up being equal parts grilled chicken to romaine lettuce). Lastly, we had enchiladas. You choose shredded beef or chicken tinga and then smothered in salsa verde, salsa roja, or mole. We went with shredded beef and salsa roja. I found the filling to be dry and the salsa roja to be watery and bland. Not my favorite enchiladas. We also tried a few drinks. I had a cocktail special they had that night for International Women's Day - La Chingona - which was a little too sweet for me. My husband stuck with their mezcalita - classic, one classic with spice. For my second drink, I went with their Topo Chico Ranch Water (guava flavor), which I loved. The service was good, and the restaurant is comfortable. The food was okay to pretty good, but I definitely think it's a great place for snacks and drinks on the patio when the weather warms up. I'll be back for a Topo Chico Ranch Water or a margarita on their patio on a pretty day!

Such a great experience! Really loved it. Loved the guac, my shrimp tacos and hibiscus margarita! Everyone in my party said the food was amazing

I wanted to love it. but I didn't. First the good. Luna Oaxaca is located in Village of Cross Keys. It's a cute restaurant with a good vibe. There's a lot of parking in the area.. but right now it's limited because of the snow. The staff is friendly, especially the bartender Juan. For me, it's a nice spot for Happy Hour or a first date. The Queso Fundido was good. They have a few good options in the Mocktail Menu I tried the Fresa Linda There's bad was the food. I wasn't wowed like I wanted to be. My meal wasn't terrible, I just wasn't pleased. I actually needed up going somewhere else to get my son takeout. I order the Aguachile.. my friend makes it and I love it. The one here was t as good and the shrimp didn't marinate in the citrus long enough to fully cook so it was raw. like still grey. I also wanted to try the Rosita Mocktail but they were out of ingredients and couldn't make it :( Maybe they were just having a not so great night when I came. Maybe I'll try again in the future.

The place is absolutely beautiful inside. The staff were good and accommodating. I enjoyed the food and will definitely be back again.

When we arrived for lunch, we were greeted nicely. First allow me to say how this was my first experience with Guacamole and it did not disappoint!!! I literally could eat it with chips all by itself! It tasted so fresh and I couldn't stop eating! The quesadilla was wonderful as well as the enchiladas. Presentation was great! To top it off we had the tres leche for dessert!!! It is in the top 3 best I've had ever!!! I would go back here specifically for the guac and tres leche!!!!! Looking forward to going back!!!

If you're looking for a really delicious Mexican restaurant that fuses traditional family recipes with a modern edge, then Luna Oaxaca is your place. The food, service and atmosphere was outstanding. Helped a good friend celebrate his birthday for brunch and it did not disappoint. We were a party of 28, and to be brutally honest this place is real accommodating for large groups. The staff and service were top notch. Nobody had a bad dish, everything was delicious from the freshly made guacamole and queso fundido, the street tacos and burritos, salads. The traditional Mexican breakfast dishes such as chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. The cocktail list is phenomenal. They also do happy hour every day including the weekends from 2-5pm. They have really nice outdoor patio for seating now that the weather is getting really nice. Everything was a 10/10, highly recommend. And yes I will be coming back with my friends.

On a recent lunch with one of my friends we decided to try Luna Oaxaca since I had previously seen they were open and serving brunch. We both agreed Luna Oaxaca was a good choice. Luna Oaxaca is one of the newer restaurants in the Cross Keys center, nestled off to the side by itself. The sleek yet minimalistic decor of the interior is nice and open, and they have outside seating for those warmer days and nights. Although we went for brunch, I wasn't really in the mood for their brunchy items since most have eggs and I'm no egg eater. So, I settled on the Carne Asada tacos since tacos are always my go to when trying a new Mexican restaurant. I also ordered a side of chips & salsa to see how well they did those. The chips & salsa were pretty tasty; I could've used a bit more spice in the salsa but that's my personal taste buds. The Carne Asada tacos were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. And actually, filled with meat and pico de gallo. My friend ordered the veggie tacos and said those were quite tasty too. I'm always on the hunt for a good Mexican restaurant and Luna Oaxaca is one I'll definitely make a trip to again to try some of their other menu items. The service was good, and the food was tasty, so that's a win in my book.

I made a reservation easily online. We were promptly seated when we arrived. The drinks were strong and beautifully made. The fundió, chips, and salsa were just ok. I would gladly return to have drinks at the bar.

For starters, we did not partake in the happy hour. The dinner menu in my opinion looked more promising. I was very pleased with this decision. The cheese pull on the empanadas was primo. They were a bit greasy but tasty nonetheless. My fish tempura tacos were flavorful with just the right amount of crunch. The tres leches cake was just the perfect amount of sweetness and was not overly moist. I would definitely eat here again.

My first visit at Luna Oaxaca with reservations for dinner and we were seated immediately. Our server was Ronnie. Service was prompt with carafe of iced water poured tableside. We started off with drinks and margaritas were delicious. My mezcal margarita with fresh hibiscus was smoky and not too sweet, the sugared rim was nice touch. For appetizer, we shared the empanadas con pollo. I liked the balance of the toasted empanada pastry packed with shredded chicken and ooze of cheese. The chipotle aioli was a nice complement with a touch of subtle heat. I was not a fan of the side house salad though the red onions could've been served as salsa criolla instead. Ours had too many lettuce ribs. On to the entree and I chose the enchilada potocinas con camarones y mole. This dish was delicious and the amount of mole was perfect, except I was disappointed to taste chopped shrimp. I hope they consider changing to whole pieces as each could easily fill 2-3 plump ones per enchilada (the dish came with 3). And para postre, we finished with the in-house made tres leches cake. Generous serving of sponge cake, creamy milk poured over with a dolop of fresh whipped cream and a sprinkling of canela. It was delicious. Located in the Village of Cross Key, it shares parking with other shops. Same center with Cece, Nine Tailed Fox, Blue Mercury, and Always Ice Cream. Note the walk-up has a ramp, however caution there is a marked step at the entrance door. I do agree with others the noise levels are earsplitting.

We decided to try this new Mexican place at Cross Keys. We were able to get a table for 2 without a wait on Sunday at 6. It was very good. The margarita was very good and we had the mole chicken and the salmon which was prepared with toasted tortilla chips, sweet potatoes and beets. Both were quite good though the salmon was a bit overcooked. The entrees were about $30 each which is a bit steep but you can get a taco plate for $16. We'll be back to try more!

The atmosphere is a 10, can't wait to head back once the weather is consistently good and sit on the lovely patio. The guac is delicious and they make a mean margarita. I really enjoyed the Arrachera, although the serving of beans was stingy, particularly in comparison to the other side dish.

This was our first time here. There's not a ton of indoor seating which explains why reservations fill up fast. You could eat at the bar. The outdoor seating is great but most of it is uncovered. There are a handful of tables that are under the building awning. Overall, the restaurant was cool inside. Food was delicious and prepared well. We started with the guacamole. Both of us got the skinny margarita, which we enjoyed as it was less sweet than normal margaritas. Dinner was really delicious. We will be back!

I've recently started working in the area and they are supper close thus I decided to try them out…read more I was very excited when I saw it was Korean owned however their K-food section is only two items; Bulgogi Dupbap & the Bulgogi Sub. The rest of the menu is American stuff. I've as of now tried both of these and very content with the taste and filling of these two, the price is reasonable per the portion and yummyness($12.49) plus tax about $13.25. The only thing I would change a bit is making sure that the juice from the bulgogi doesn't soak the bread too much cuz then it's mushy. I like a crunchy texture to my subs, but the may be just my preference. Both the son and the mom are super nice, if you become a regular it's very nice to have people know what you want right away. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly. I hope that they can incorporate more korean food to their menu, at least 2 more that have a different protein so we have a bit more variety. Though I understand why the options for kfood are limited given the area's population. Things to keep in mind: - When you order let them know if you want it to go or to eat there. Nobody can read minds, but they will do their best to ask you prior to packaging to confirm. - It can get busy so sometimes transaction may take longer because people are multitasking. - - - Don't rip out the receipt, you might be taking the wrong copy. Wait for the cashier to hand it to you or simply ask. -If you have questions about a product, ask them and don't assume. Yes. There is a big menu and pamphlets available and they provide brief item description but if that's not clear, just ask. They also have prepackaged salads, fruit and a few sweet treats, along with MissVickies chips, and bottle drinks. It's a cafe so the basics. Overall, really nice experience. Tots recommended :3

SHUT THE FLUFF UP! SO GOOOOD!!!…read more We were in Baltimore with a few hours to spare in the morning, so what to do?!? First thing that comes to mind is... crab for breakfast! Ok yelp, show me watcha gat!!! Oh, AND Open Early! Unfortunately, we have just a few options pop up (Wha?!? REALLY?!? It's Baltimore, aren't they famous for crab?!?), so we choose to hit Blue Moon Cafe! Yelp directions are on point and only street parking from what we can see. We brave the brisk chilly breeze of early May to get to the cafe... BRRRR!!! Inside motif has a dark theme to it and small patronage area. Per the lovely Nicki who greeted us, Blue has been on Food Network a few times... DDD, Best Things I Ever Ate & Destination FOOD... so settin' the bar HIGH from the start! Ok, okay I dig the confidence!! Menu is via QR code but Nicki, becuz she's fun, excitedly announces the recs to the newbies, which are Sweet Baby Jesus & Cap'n Crunch French Toast. Thanks for the heads up! Sweet Baby has lump Crab in the dish so that's a confident YES! for that, but I spy something more appealing than Cap'n Crunch... Let's EAT! SWEET BABY JESUS!: Wifey and I wanted crab and this was Blue's big gun! So YES! To The Dish! It may appear as a simple Hash Brown dish but it is so much GLORIOUS than that! To start, Hash browns are browned & crisped perfectly and then the angel's touch happens... lump crab (generous portion) with Old Bay Seasoning, fresh diced tomatoes, melty cheese, 2 over Medium eggs and homemade Hollandaise Sauce. HOLEY MOLEY! DEEE-LISH! Generous crab serving allows you to have crab with EVERY bite of this dish! Mmmmm :) Love the ooey gooey stretchy cheese! Love the runny eggs! And that Hollandaise?!?! LEGIT! This heavenly dish deserves all the hype! The only drawback was the dish got cold fast because of the cold weather outside I assume. By the time I finished my order, and got to helping Wifey, not as WOWzers compared to when it first dropped on our table. Now we know... eat fast when it's cold outside. lol SHUT THE FLUFF UP! FRENCH TOAST: Once I read "peanut butter" in its ingredients, no way I was passing this up! Buh Bye fan fave Cap'n Crunch, maybe next time lol. Officially, menu "says" it's a Pretzel encrusted French Toast, layered with chunky peanut butter, marshmallow fluff and Chocolate drizzle... allegedly. The chocolate drizzle was not present when the plate landed but generous melty smooth peanut butter completely covered the top of the marshmallow fluff. Sliced Granny Smith apples and thin pretzels also topped the dish, with a powdered sugar drizzle over the entire plate. I asked for extra peanut butter on the side just because no one ever puts enough for my liking lol. And whattya know?!? This newest iteration of the dish was FABULOUS! Did they run out of stuff? Who cares! The synergy these items had with each other just made an amazing bite each and every time. BOMB-alicious!!! I don't really like marshmallow but it wasn't a hindrance here. I devoured the entire thing. Compliments to the chef! ;) VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! Definitely worth a visit and a return visit, as well! If it's cold outside, focus on eating not chit chatting lol ENJOY! :)

My husband and I recently dined at Blue Moon Cafe in Fells Point, Baltimore, and were disappointed…read moreby our experience. The issue began when my husband politely asked a question about a menu item because it appeared to be spelled "browns" rather than "hash browns." He simply wanted clarification regarding what the item was. The server asked him for context, and he explained that he was referring to the item as it appeared on the menu. She then replied, "Oh, now I have context. That's a hash brown." My husband explained that because of the way it was written, he wasn't sure what it meant and was only asking a question before ordering. At that point, the server's tone became noticeably louder, and she responded, "Well, I only work here. I didn't write the menu." We found this response unnecessarily defensive and dismissive. At no point was my husband criticizing the server or correcting her. He was simply trying to understand a menu item. Shortly afterward, a different server began assisting our table, which gave us the impression that the original server was upset by the interaction. When my husband placed his order, he specifically requested that the restaurant's "animal sauce" be served on the side. The menu does not explain what animal sauce is, so he wanted to try it separately before putting it on his meal. When the food arrived, the dish was completely covered in the sauce rather than having it on the side as requested. Afterward, we learned that the sauce is a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise. My husband does not eat mayonnaise and ketchup on eggs, which is exactly why he requested the sauce on the side. Unfortunately, because of the uncomfortable interaction earlier, he did not feel comfortable asking for the dish to be corrected and simply tried to eat around it. The meal was not inexpensive, and because the sauce had been poured over most of the food, he was unable to enjoy it. Approximately 80% of his meal was left uneaten. We understand that mistakes happen and that restaurant environments can be busy. However, customers should be able to ask questions about menu items and make simple requests without feeling uncomfortable or concerned about how those requests will be received. Description of waitress: Caucasian Middle aged Heavy set Extremely loud voice Rude ( nice/nasty) We wanted to share this feedback because the interaction negatively impacted our dining experience and left us feeling unwelcome. We hope this feedback is received in the spirit intended so that future guests feel comfortable asking questions and making requests without concern.
