    Plantains

Chips and Salsa to start were on point! Queso was good but different from expected. Robust brunch menu and the steak eggs were great. The highlight for me tho was the fried plantains. The BEST I've ever had. Cannot wait to have them again.

Excellent chips and salsa, great customer service, fantastic food and plenty of free parking. The fried plantains here are some of the best around. I make my own because it's hard to find good ones in this area, but Mucho Gusto does them right. Yummers!! The carne asada small plate is DLicious with smooth and tender carne asada strips. Fantastic fajitas and decent cocktail selection. It does get a little loud and the restaurant area tables are VERY VERY close to each other. So, if you're ready to make some new friends when out to dinner this is your place!

Great margarita here. I so infrequently get a flavored marg. It's never real juice. And here it ACTUALLY IS!! And I hate sour mix...none at MUCHO GUSTO I loved the Bel Air location so I took my husband to Towson. It's a bit smaller but great service and the food was super impressive. I had a birria burrito and it even came with a side salad. My husband liked the size of the tacos with generous portions of protein. Average people can have 2 and be happy and not overspend. Boomin shrimps were surprisingly large and tasty! Red sauce for the carne asada was chimichurri - nice touch. FYI- outdoor patio is dog friendly

Great restaurant! Came here on a first date, and we arrived early, around 5 pm, and the restaurant was pretty empty. I loved the decor, and our server was super attentive and offered recommendations when we asked. It was happy hour when we arrived, so we ordered a happy hour appetizer of loaded tots, and I got a house margarita, which I asked our server for a low pour (less alcohol), and she did, and the margarita was delicious. It was dusted with what looked like cinnamon-colored sugar around the rim. It didn't taste like cinnamon, but it did taste perfect. For our main entrees, I got the birria tacos, and they were super. The consommé broth for dipping was very oily, even after stirring. So I didn't use too much of that. The birria tacos weren't dry, so I didn't need the consomme, but I would have liked to dip them if they weren't so oily. My date got the enchiladas with refried beans and rice, and it was huge -- enough for at least three meals -- and she took at least half home. I saved enough room for dessert, and we shared this warm brownie with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious and plenty filling for us to share. As this restaurant filled up, the noise and volume went up considerably. We noticed the higher metal ceilings, which don't dampen sound very well. That was the only negative, if you can call it that, as it was hard to hear my date sitting across the table from me. All in all, a great meal, reasonable prices, excellent service, a friendly hostess --I can't complain --and I look forward to a future visit here.

Visited on a busy Sunday afternoon. Parking is busy but opens up towards the back. Seated with no wait for 4 people. For $13 and no upgrades, the margarita was a little on the small side, and the watermelon flavor was very subtle. I love the food at Mucho Gusto, here and at the Bel Air location. Ingredients are all fresh and flavorful. I had the burrito Ranchero and no complaints. The fresh guacamole and chips were on the pricey side but ok. I would recommend, as I have visited the 2 locations before.

I decided to give Mucho gusto a try after a string of mediocre restaurants in Towson U neighborhood. Service by bartenders Kyle and Stephen were top notch. Food was decent, unfortunately. Nachos were a-ok. Texture of it isn't what I would expect from a more upscale Mexican place. Wasn't too impressed with the chicken quesadillas either. Birria sliders were pretty nice: dipping sauce was spot on although the beef was a bit dry. My favorite cocktail was their fresh fruit martini: I had it with their guava puree base and it was a lovely vodka martini. Also liked their red sangria but the jalapeño margarita was a-OK. Hardly any jalapeño flavor other than a slice of jalapeño pepper that was in it. A relatively nice happy hour experience overall and I may return when I'm back in Towson.

The restaurant has a really cute vibe to it, I love the decor and lighting of the place. Our waitress was very friendly as well. We got seated within 10-15 minutes of arriving, and the restaurant was pretty crowded on a Saturday night. The Chicken Burrito was good and pretty standard, I wish the side salad had more veggies to it. The Crab Enchiladas tasted nice, especially with the sauce it came with. I did feel like the Chicken Fajitas could've had more meat to it, but that tasted fair as well. I would definitely recommend their margaritas, as they had a wide variety of flavors! The Hibiscus Margarita was definitely one of my favorites.

I've heard great things about Mucho Gusto so came to check it out for lunch. When we entered, the bar area is directly in front of you with the host stand to the left. There wasn't a hostess on duty, which was no problem. I made eye contact with the bartender a few times but she did not say anything like we'll be with you in a minute or something to that effect, which I thought was odd given the proximity to the bar and the fact that we waited for a hot minute for anyone to say anything to us. A gentleman came over after a minute or so and seated us. We ordered drinks, apps, and entrees. The drinks were excellent! I had a patron margarita which was strong but not overpowering. We had the nachos with steak which were delish. I had the mahi tacos which were also very good and came out crispy, hot, and fresh. The service was slightly slow - but I chalk that up to a busier than average lunch rush since we came between Christmas and New Year's. They have a great menu and I would come back! They do add gratuity pretty liberally - for example, every check on taco Tuesday. I believe they also do it during happy hour, as well as over a certain party size or dollar amount. Our server did inform us right as he gave us the check so they aren't trying to hide it, which I appreciated as well.

Solid place for good drinks and good food. They have a pina colada, it's not frozen so I was skeptical but it's good! Everytime I drink it I feel like if I close my eyes I'm at a tropical resort lol I often pick this place as my after work happy hour spot.

Nice new spot in Towson in the shops at Kenilworth center if you like Tex-Mex. Came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon last weekend and it wasn't too crowded. There was plenty of parking so I was able to get a spot right in front. There was no wait to be seated. The waiter came out and took my drink order. They have house made chips and salsa but you much purchase it so it's not complimentary. I will warn you they have a drink that you can have a photo printed out on. Please make sure you clarify you want the photo printed drink. Don't do like me and ask for the drink with the picture because they will bring you picture of a drink. I ended up accidentally getting a whole pitcher of margaritas. They have a no refund policy on all drink purchases so I was stuck with it. The food was great. I had enchiladas with salsa verde. It was three decent sized chicken enchiladas with a Side of refried beans and Spanish rice. Everything was very tasty. I would like to head back and try their brunch menu. Other than the drink miss-hap it would have been a 5 star experience. I would come back again.

Service was great, our server had a really calm welcoming attitude and made good suggestions on what to order. I tried to buy a gift card online and my card said it was pending and we never received the email to use the gift card although the $100 was taken out. It was frustrating that they were unable to do anything on their end to fix the gift card purchase delay so I ended up having to use my credit card, while still having a pending $100 for a gift card we've never received in the email. In the photo~ Queso Fundido, blend of Mexican & Spanish cheeses melted down in a hot skillet w/ chorizo. Menu said it's supposed to be "Topped with pico de gallo", but you can clearly see there's none of that and the cheese wasn't as thick as I expected it would be...a bit watery. Ambiance was nicely lit with natural lighting when we ate.

As a huge Mexican food fan, Mucho Gusto did not disappoint. I came here for a date and this was both of ours first time here. Service was fast and consistent. Our server was very nice. Special shoutout to the bartender because those Mucho Margarita was strong! I had a watermelon margarita and my date tried the strawberry margarita. I wanted another but all I needed was one. The guacamole was fresh and sooo good. I pretty much ate it by myself because my date was not a fan of avocado. I had the birria tacos and my date had the shrimp tacos. The birria was so tender and the consumme was delicious. My date enjoyed his shrimp tacos. While I'm on the fence about going on a second date with the guy, I definitely have another date with Mucho Gusto!

This was my fourth time to Mucho gusto in Towson. It's in the Kenilworth Plaza with great parking and indoor/ outdoor seating. They sell freshly made dishes and also have the cutest drinks. There is a specific drink that you can choose that you can put your picture on. The servers are always nice and the restaurant has a couple cute photo ops for those they want to take pictures. I love the boomin shrimp tacos. And the drinks are nice too.

This is Puerto Rican pitorro, also known as ron cañita, made with care and intention rather than gimmickry. Many local liquor stores now carry the brand, and it is well worth picking up a bottle, but visiting the distillery is an experience in itself. The founder is a fellow Puerto Rican born retired military member, a background I share, and like me, he has put down roots in Maryland. That story is reflected clearly in the brand's own framing, "Puerto Rican born, Maryland made." The space feels grounded and unpretentious, and that sensibility carries through to the hospitality. We arrived late on a Saturday and were still welcomed warmly, never rushed. We were taken care of by the founder's daughter, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She guided us through a flight that included the traditional pitorro, almond, pineapple, coffee, coconut chai, and several seasonal offerings. The flavors were thoughtful and well balanced; even the infused expressions retained a clear rum backbone rather than drifting into novelty. We enjoyed them enough to leave with several bottles. This is artisanal pitorro done right, rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and confidently made in Maryland. Buying it locally is convenient, but going to the distillery is where the people, the story, and the spirit fully come together.

I opted to be seated at the bar for this visit as well. The bartender was not as pleasant as my entrance experience and previous visit; however he was attentive. We ordered drinks and then proceeded witj our food ordering once we received our drinks. We ordered Expresso Martini and Reposado Old Fashioned. The drinks are amazing and 5*. We ordered our food Oversized burger and Pan Seared scallops over brussel sprouts. Our food came out hot and within reasonable time. The burger is NOT an oversized burger. Regular sized and the descriptive name is deceiving. The burger option was not anything to speak on as it was not to satisfaction but quelled the hunger moment. It was over cooked. The pan seared scallops came out with a strong "fishy" smell. They however were tasty and spicy. This was a small plate as it was only 3 scallops in total. Other then the strong "fishy"smell, they were tasty. We then ordered a limoncello and was of course satisfied as it was another great tasting drink. This establishment does not have a nice and variety food menu but you will never be disappointed with the drinks.

If you park on the upper side there are extremely steep steps. Park on the same side as the post office/entrance to the comedy club and there are no steps. There is an outside seating area as well. The inside has moody vibes and says speakeasy but out in the open. The inside isn't large, but comfortable with seating at the bar and several high tops. There are a gazillion bourbons and they even have flights. There's also a fully stocked bar for any drink you want. They have 2 beers on tap and tons of bottle/can options. However, I strongly encourage you to try the cocktails. These are elevated cocktails in the sense that the combination of liquors and mixers really make great pairings. The side car was great. We also tried the Naughty and Nice (perfect blend of spice and sweet), Port of Manhattan (the addition of the port takes this classic to the next level), and the Corpse Reviver #2 which was our absolute surprisingly favorite. The glass is washed with absinthe (see photo). Not only was it super cool to see, but the after taste after each sip was amazing with this addition to the drink. We are not gin drinkers but this was delicious! Venture off of your normal order and explore these incredible crafty and well thought out cocktails that you will thoroughly enjoy and appreciate for the art that they are. The menu was very good as well. The chorizo queso was delicious and the German Sausage Platter was tasty. The portions were good. They have lots of specials like burger of the month, Wednesdays are burger night (half price) and the drinks are so reasonably priced! The service was immediate and constant throughout our entire visit. Very friendly and eager to make your experience enjoyable.
