Came here on a Tuesday night to perform at their weekly open mic (Tuesdays and Thursday's at 8:15pmish, comic signups start at 7:30pm and goes in first come first serve list order). Shoutout to bartender Andre who was great. It's a small homey dive bar attached to Magooby's joke house, ample parking in the open lot. The kitchen needs improvement- ordered a salad with grilled chicken, came out without the grilled cjicken- apparently they forgot to communicate to bartender that they were making a fresh batch so it would come out later. Then partway through eating my salad, found one of those plastic square things (used to close a bread bag) in it. Bartender had it sent back, watched them remake a new salad, and they comped my tab that night for the mishaps, which was nice of them. The newly made salad did taste pretty good. Also a plus that they have henny at the bar. read more

we stopped in for lunch (new service for wit's end) and it was great ... we ate burgers and wurst -- angus cheeseburger, the special maui burger, and the german sausage platter (not on the lunch menu but daisy and the chef made it happen) ... the burgers were top notch and the fries were just about perfect (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside) ... the bauernwurst were some of the best i have ever eaten (including all the wurst i ate when living n germany for 3 years) ... daisy went out of her way to make us feel welcome ... i definitely recommend this for lunch (this will become a mandatory stop for us whenever we are in timonium) ... read more

A very small hidden bar in what looks like an office building. I think only 30 people can really fit in this spot which made the presence of two bartenders surprising. They also have a kitchen that opens late, and I think this is shared by the comedy club next door. The bartenders are very friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I wouldn't call this a dive bar but it definitely caters to a working class crowd. They do have a good selection of microbrews and imports. I didn't see too many cocktails being made but the customers did not linger here more than two drinks even in the late hour. read more

What a fabulous find! This place is a must try. It is connected to a comedy club (Magooby's Joke House). There's plenty of parking. If you park on the upper side there are extremely steep steps. Park on the same side as the post office/entrance to the comedy club and there are no steps. There is an outside seating area as well. The inside has moody vibes and says speakeasy but out in the open. The inside isn't large, but comfortable with seating at the bar and several high tops. There are a gazillion bourbons and they even have flights. There's also a fully stocked bar for any drink you want. They have 2 beers on tap and tons of bottle/can options. However, I strongly encourage you to try the cocktails. These are elevated cocktails in the sense that the combination of liquors and mixers really make great pairings. The side car was great. We also tried the Naughty and Nice (perfect blend of spice and sweet), Port of Manhattan (the addition of the port takes this classic to the next level), and the Corpse Reviver #2 which was our absolute surprisingly favorite. The glass is washed with absinthe (see photo). Not only was it super cool to see, but the after taste after each sip was amazing with this addition to the drink. We are not gin drinkers but this was delicious! Venture off of your normal order and explore these incredible crafty and well thought out cocktails that you will thoroughly enjoy and appreciate for the art that they are. The menu was very good as well. The chorizo queso was delicious and the German Sausage Platter was tasty. The portions were good. People around us ordered burgers that were generously portioned with all the fixings. They have lots of specials like burger of the month, Wednesdays are burger night (half price) and the drinks are so reasonably priced! The service was immediate and constant throughout our entire visit. Very friendly and eager to make your experience enjoyable. Seriously, venture out to this place and have some terrific drinks and food. You will want to tell everyone about it! Such a great vibe and atmosphere, as well as a great value!! read more

Small gem indeed! Justin whips up one hell of a cocktail and is really personable to boot. Swung by here with my twin sis and another friend after a night of delayed flights and unpacking. Extensive bourbon list, I went with the Old Fashioned Wit and it did not disappoint. Sister had the lemon drop and she also said her drink was very good! Cute little outside area, I could see myself coming back with some of my cigar connoisseur friends to enjoy the breeze and a beverage. It's tucked away in what kinda looks like an office building, so if you blink you might miss it! We stopped in very late so the kitchen was closed, but I just might have to stop by to try the food before I head back to Texas. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the food considering we almost left and went elsewhere when the place was empty and most of the employees were smoking right outside the front. They unfortunately only have specials on Wednesday and we came on a Tuesday before a comedy show. Got the PB&J burger because it sounded unique and it was delicious. The fries were also perfectly cooked and seasoned. My friend enjoyed her veggie southwest burger. The menu was a little misleading- said mine came with LTO, but apparently have to ask for it- and it doesn't come with bacon, yet I got some on my bun and was charged for it. read more

I had heard about this place but finally tried it last night. It's a small cozy bar with a great selection. Our bartender Andre was fantastic and the food was really good. My burger was cooked perfectly and the onion rings were crispy and fresh. The real surprise was the chips and guacamole ......so so good. Freshly fried chips and homemade guac, a pleasant surprise. The open Mike comedy was.....well, comedy is hard! Entertaining. We will definitely be back. read more

I wish I could give this place more stars. All I have to say is wow. The food, the place, the drinks, the service is absolutely amazing. I had the orange Cassidy cocktail and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. I also stepped out of my comfort zone and tried the PB&J burger and I think I fell in love lol. Since moving here last Sept. from San Diego we have been trying to find a nice bar that serves good drinks, good food, along with a welcoming atmosphere, to no avail. That is until now! Not only is the place welcoming, but it has a speak easy vibe to it which is something we miss since leaving SD. The drinks are excellent, the appetizers are really good, but the bartenders - Justin and Andre - make it even better. Both are super friendly, it almost felt like we have been coming here for years. Like we were regulars. Justin does not mess around when it comes to his drinks, they are not for the weak. We ordered an old fashion for me, suffering bastard for my husband, and Moscow Mule for our daughter. We agreed they were the best Old Fashion and Mules we have had since moving here. The suffering bastard was no joke either. Thankfully, Justin makes sure to keep you hydrated by keeping your water glass filled at all times. The appetizers we ordered, chorizo queso, Buffalo wings & chicken Cesar salad, were quite tasty and good their portions were the right amount. We didn't finish it all between the 3 of us as they aren't stingy. The joke house is attached to the bar so the attendees come to drink after the show ends as well so it can get a bit loud but it's for a short period. They do have the patio area that has music playing outside as well as inside so that's a nice option when weather permits. They do have comedians perform T&Th for open mic night and other special comic nights so definitely check their website to see all they have to offer. It's a great place! All in all, we loved it, we recommend it, and rate it 5/5 or 10 out of 10 stars. We will definitely be frequenting this speak easy vibe bar often. read more

Came here with BF for drinks before we went to a show at Magooby's. If you're going here for a show they're literally connected so you don't have very far to go. BF likes to try different scotches/whiskeys so when I found this place I knew I had to take him. He got a scotch and I got a bourbon. Prices ranged from fairly cheap ($6) to more expensive (I saw some up to around $40) They have a huge selection. They also have beer and a cocktail menu. The bar is very small but it feels cozy and intimate. We didn't get any food but they do have a small food menu. I decided I'm not really a bourbon person but I'm glad I got a chance to take BF there. It's definitely a once in awhile kind of place because we ended up dropping $30 on two drinks including tips. read more

Absolutely loved this place! One of my best friends randomly suggested we try it and as soon as I walked in I think I silently shed a tear of joy just looking at all the scotch, whisky, and bourbon selections. The bartender was great and knowledgeable, the food was simple but delicious and the crowd that came in shortly after we got there seemed like good local people. So we stopped here before going to Magooby's Joke House. (that's another review in its own) This place is small but has a cool vibe. I'm not a whiskey person so I probably can't appreciate it's true calling. Their happy hour specials were pretty good; $1.75 for any drink, but considering I drink Miller lite that's not a great deal. The bartenders were very inattentive and more interested in talking to each other and their phones. When I told the one girl the beers were warm; which she had a miller lite in her hand to give to someone else, she just looked at me and handed it off to the guy and gave me another. I had to get a glass of ice to make it somewhat cold. It's a good place to stop if you're going to the show but I wouldn't hang out here. read more

Seasoned comics drink properly when they have cashflow, and the pickings at this "saloon" reflect that. Good spread of generic and chic hard liquors, fewer options for fermentation fans. Service is friendly, moderately attentive, and most importantly-- capable of a gentleman's pour. A couple outlets under the wall ledge by the door leading to the Joke House next door. Decor is kind of all over the place: vintage racist advert, Spinal Tap poster, trivia night announcements. I'm sure the happy hour specials make it as good a pre-game option as a post-show wind down for a night of comedy at Magooby's. Discounted round with an exit ticket was a bonus when they're already cheaper than DC. read more

Stopped in here on a Tuesday night after about a year of "we should try that place sometime soon." Glad we did! Tuesdays are great because the small plates are half price, and all alcohol is $2 off. We came in around 7pm because we expected comedy to start up around 8pm, but tonight it was 9pm instead. Oh well! The atmosphere was awesome- low-lighting, but well decorated, and very very clean! My husband even told me as we were leaving that it was a perfect "John Taffer bar" - limited food menu, a specialty drink list, overall cohesive theme, knowledgeable, high-quality bartenders... I'd have to agree! The bartender (I think her name was Katherine- she mentioned she's worked there since they opened) was excellent. For the majority of the time we were there, she was singlehandedly handling all of the customers in the bar- probably about 10-12 people total this evening. She was on top of refilling our drinks, recommended some menu items, and the service we received was just top-notch. The food came out quick, hot, and delicious! We tried the loaded fries, fish tacos, and the cheesburger- all great. Overall, a great first experience at this place- I say "first" because we'll definitely be going back another Tuesday night to stay for the comedy! read more

A Facebook friend who I actually have met in person was having a comedy show. I like to laugh(who doesn't?) so I opted to check it out. It's in a business park and it's around the side of Magoobys Joke House. It reminds me of a college bar, but with grown ups. The bartender is pretty affable and it's very clean. There's a sign that says it's a bourbon bar and they have all of my faves so it pretty much is what it aims to be, a bar to drink bourbon and maybe listen to a few comics work out some new material. Any way you slice it, it's worth a looksee. Drop in and have aa half-off drink and hear a couple jokes on Tuesday's. read more

This is the best, real bar in Timonium. The food is very good pub grub, especially the burgers and nice seasoned fries. The whiskey selection is simply top notch, and the bottle beer selection, while not huge, is fantastically curated. Every thing from local go-tos like Heavy Sees, to hard to find classics like Sammy Smith's. And they do this without being some lame, pretentious beer nerd bar. I discovered the place before a show next door at Magooby's Joke House, and it's a great place to get a drink and meet friends before or after the show, but I actually love it as a hang out. Like I said, the drinks are great, food is perfect bar food, and there are great specials. But the place just feels homey. They've done an awesome job of creating a homey, city neighborhood bar (with the best music in Timonium for sure), in the wilds of Timonium. read more

A pleasant atmosphere, quiet and able to hear your partner speak; sometimes that's hard to come by in a place with such an outstanding selection of bourbons, ryes, & whiskey... the bartender made my Old Fashioned nicely and used the "1" big ice cube ( when is everyone going to get on that bandwagon???) We needed a bite to ensure we could drive back to DC, so we had buffalo chicken strips and mozzarella sticks. Average, but filling. Only weird thing is the restroom arrangements, you have to go down a hall and then into and thru the comedy club to use the facilities. We will be back!! read more

I came here to see show in Magooby's Joke House. Ticket checker host help me to get here. Bartender was super busy, I think so he was alone. I was waiting for him so he can give me table. After couple minutes later I sat on bar , he didn't great at all. Then I called n place drink order. One couple was waiting for menu, I gave my menu to her. Bartender was grabbing all glassware from table. He put all dirty glasses n plate beside me . I Had to changed my place I move in different place. I thought he gonna ask me about food order but he didn't. I waited for some time when he came again to clear a table I called him n place order of hummus plate. 10 min later I got hummus plate. Bartender didn't give me silver ware, I ask him then he provided. My second order was veg quesadilla , I got after 30 min one of the crew serve me. Hummus was ok but quesadillas was good. Then I went to Bartender for my check. Overall all bad experience. Atmosphere was good. Restaurant well design . read more

Wow 5 stars for sure. I went into the Wits End after a show that I saw at The Magooys Jokehouse and was very impressed. The manger is an Asian American body builder named Chu. He is extremely knowledgeable about bourbons and actaully turned me on to a delicious drink. I love that you can take your exit pass from the show and bring it to the wits end to get your 1st drink for 1/2 price. Also Chu had some great tunes playing. I love this bar. I come her every Thursday for trivia and occasionally after shows at the adjoining Magooby's Joke House. They have a great selection of bourbons and whiskys, the food is excellent and so is the service. On the rare occasion that something isn't quite right, they will do what they can to make it better. It's small, but that's why I like it. It's usually not too loud but sometimes after a show it can be a little boisterous (understandably). Pro-tip: Half off appetizers and $2 off drinks before 7:30, and the Chicken Tender & Fries basket counts as an app :) read more

This bar is attached directly to Magooeys Jokehouse and you're able to grab some good drinks before the show! Your first one is half off and there is no happy hours. This review is mostly because I was super impressed with Christy. People were rushing in and she was the only bartender - but didn't miss a step. She got everyone's drink and didn't even look like she broke a sweat. It is a fun atmosphere, but not very much seating. Not a bad place to go to before (or after) the show. read more

While hubby and I were at the bike show in Timonium, we decided to try a new place while we waited for our dinner reservation at Corner Stables and we stumbled upon this gem. Small bar that is slightly challenging to find if you've never been to it before. But we persevered and was glad we found it. The bartenders were wonderful young ladies who took very good care of us. We had four beers and one spirit and it was incredibly cheap!!! About $13....huh? Guess I'm used to Northern Virginia inflated prices. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. read more

My coworker brought me to magoobys and we came into Wits End prior to the show so we could grab a bite to eat. This place was cozy and welcoming from the moment we stepped in. I asked the bartender what dish people really enjoyed there and a burger was suggested so I ordered a burger and fries. Both were really good! Whatever seasoning they use on the fries was delicious. While we were waiting for our food to come out, we decided to try out their huge selection of whiskey. I'm not usually a huge fan of harder liquor, but they have so many different options that I figured I could try and branch out just a little. The bartender gave us a little guidance on which one we might like based on our tastes. The bartender also told us about some free comedy events during the week that are actually held in the bar. This might become a regular outing for my coworker and I. We had a really, really good time and can't wait to come back again. read more

After waiting 30 min for our food (two burgers, medium rare) it came out over cooked AND ice cold - as in the fries were so cold it was like eating fries you took home in a doggie bag two hours later. I'm not big on confrontation so I decided to suck it up and just eat it, that is until I ate a hair. Luckily my spidey senses felt it and I pulled it out of my mouth in time. Also thankfully it was a blonde head hair and not a short and curly. Still though. So I eeked my way up to the bar and let the bartender know that my food is cold and there was a hair in it. He didn't know what to do - didn't make eye contact and just said "ok". I felt compelled to give him my husbands cold food too after that. I mean how hard is it to say "sorry, I'll take care of it"? Anywho...stars are for the awesome bourbon menu. And we did get a recooked burger but the fries were still cold. Hummmm...my husband "they could at least have just put our other fries in the microwave..." lol Update - Whoa.....just scrolled through other reviews to see if anyone had a bad experience like us, saw the owner defensively and sarcastically patronizing and berating the posters of the first negative reviews I saw...in the first one making fun of the posters grammar and the second one saying they were happy a customer was never going to return. There are only three things you need to know about Whit's End Saloon: 1) The atmosphere is STUPENDOUS - classic rock and whiskey?? Come on. 2) The food - wonderful. Cool place! Stopped in here after dinner last night with my dad and husband. I found this place on Yelp and knew it would be perfect because they like scotch. We recently moved here, so It was difficult to find at first and we drove around the parking lot trying to find it. Then we saw a funny sign that said something like, "you're almost there!" Once we found it, we realized that there was not a single spot in the parking lot, which was likely due to the comedy club next door. We drove up to the top of the ramp and that ended up working out perfectly because there were stairs from up there that led right down to Wits end. Despite the hidden/strange location in an office park, once we were inside I felt transported. What a cool place! It felt warm, cozy and just like a fun place you'd want to hangout and relax with friends. I loved the ambiance and the large fireplace painting in the center of the bar. While I don't really like liquor, they had a good bottled beer selection and I can see us coming here lots! I know my husband is excited to go back and try some of the whiskey flight options. read more
