It was pretty empty when I arrived, but the aesthetics were nice and inviting. I sat at the bar and ordered tacos. I love when a spot lets you mix and match proteins, and Chilangos delivered. I tried the shrimp, carnitas, and lamb tacos, and I also got to choose my own salsa--I went with the mango salsa. The lamb was a bit dry, but the carnitas and shrimp were really good. The food came out very fast and was served with complimentary chips and salsa, which was a nice touch. I didn't get the bartender's name, but she made sure my food came out quickly and that I was taken care of. Awful service, bad food. Somebody thought it would be a great idea to put out Tostitos and pace salsa and call it authentic Mexican food. We stopped in for a late dinner after bar hopping in Fell's Point. We didn't realize food service was close to finished, but the hostess kindly told us we could still order and our server was friendly. They had complimentary chips and salsa, always a plus! I chose verde steak enchiladas which came with rice and beans and my bf chose a steak quesadilla. The food came out piping hot after a short wait. The enchiladas were just okay in my opinion. I loved the generous amount of cheese, but the verde sauce lacked flavor in my opinion and not a lot of other standout seasoning; it was mostly salty for my personal tastes. The beans were good. The rice was okay and a different grain than I'm used to from most Mexican rice. My bf's quesadillas were generously filled and cheesy. He enjoyed them. I again found the steak to be a bit salty and prefer a bit more pop of other seasonings, but they were well prepared. Overall, the food wasn't my favorite, but the staff were kind and it seems like a fun spot to grab some food and drinks. I'd give it a shot again and maybe try something else. I've been coming to Chilangos since 2019 and it's been good on and off. It's usually a very chill spot which I really appreciate especially for football games. I almost don't want to share this review because I like that. It's a little bit quiet. This is definitely a neighborhood spot, especially for the apartment dwellers at union wharf. For me, the best thing on the menu or the shrimp ceviche and the tortilla soup. The queso was pretty decent, but I've had better. This time the Lomo Saltado was to die for. There was another person sitting at the bar who ordered the dish and I just copied exactly what he did and it was the best version I've had at Chilango's and in Baltimore. Make sure you ask for the hot green salsa. The Tres leches was fine. It just was a little bit dry. I had a really disappointing experience at Chilangos Tequila Bar & Grill. From the moment we sat down, the service set the tone for the entire visit--and not in a good way. Our waiter, Jose, was extremely unfriendly and came across as rude from the start. We felt like an inconvenience more than paying customers. After taking our initial order, he barely checked on us at all. We had to sit there with empty drinks for a long time, and no one came by to ask if we needed refills or if everything was okay with our meals. What really crossed the line, though, was a serious safety issue. When he brought out the queso dip in a hot skillet, he placed it right next to a child at our table where they could have easily touched it and gotten burned. There was no warning, no consideration--just careless placement of something clearly dangerous. To make matters worse, it felt like there was zero effort to provide good service, likely because the 18% gratuity was already included. It came across as if he didn't care about his service or professionalism since the tip was guaranteed, which is disappointing and not how customers should be treated. It's frustrating when you're trying to enjoy a night out and end up feeling ignored and concerned about safety at the same time. Good service doesn't require much--just basic attention, awareness, and respect--but that was completely missing here. When we arrived we asked for bar seating but the seats were pretty high up for shorter patrons and not adjustable. We asked to be seated at a table. The restaurant was EMPTY! Yummy!!! This place is exactly what you'd hope for. Great food, drinks, and vibe! We stumbled upon it while exploring the Fells Point area. The place was JUMPIN on Friday night. They have 2 bars and a main dining room area that was filled. We grabbed two seats at the bar towards the back of the restaurant. We ordered the combo fajitas (steak, chicken and shrimp). Comes with all the side fixins. Since we were sharing we asked for an extra side of tortillas. The order only comes with 3. It was just the right amount of food to split between the two of us. These fajitas were soooooo good. For me it's all about how the meat is seasoned and cooked. Let me tell you...they nailed both. Definitely a winner. On to the drinks....whoa and whoa. When my sister came to visit and said the only thing she really wanted was Mexican food I knew Chilangos had to be on the list of places to stop! Baltimore has some really great Mexican restaurants and this is one of them! I have not had a bad dish here but on the top of the list are the enchiladas and you cant really go bad with tacos. I have not had a chance to get a tequila flight but the margaritas and mezecalitas are delicious so I have found no need to default. There is a sign that says parking is available but I've never looked into it since I can usually find decent street parking in the area, but its fells so depending on the time of day you may want to explore it. read more

I got there at 12 PM, and to my surprise the place was completely empty. Although the place was empty for the lunch the experience was worth it . The establishment itself was fresh, and clean . Protein selections are all good. Shrimp Ceviche - just amazing. Small serving so would not expect to share for more than 2. Flautas - Best app on the menu by far. I had the El Jefe burrito while my guest had the chicken tacos. The portions are generous though I wasn't especially blown away by the flavor profile of the burrito. I truly enjoyed Happy Hour at Chilango's. My go to for Taco Tuesday and margaritas is a bit far, so it's awesome to have a great go to that's closer to home. The service was good, but I feel like our waitress was not very knowledgeable on the items. Another downfall was the queso fundido. It was too stringy (not really a "dip") and once it started cooling down it was so hard to eat because you had to basically cut it. There was also a much of liquid on the top (maybe because of the type of cheese) I would not recommend ordering. I loved the shrimp quesadilla. Quesadillas are a happy hour item. We asked what protein came in them and our waiter said shrimp was an option however, when the bill came she said that shrimp was extra. We were fine paying the extra, but it would have been good to know that prior to. The corn tamale bites were awesome and so were the flautas. The drinks were delicious. It has a few outdoor tables but the attractive interior is large and there is plenty of room for social distancing. My weakness, chips and salsa was complimentary. The salsa was light, chunky, ang tasted fresh. Loved it! The menu is large with typical Mexican fare and some specialty entrees. I ordered Camarones Diabla. The jumbo shrimp were cooked to perfection and the sauce had the perfect amount of heat. I picked at the sides, the tasty sides, rice and refried beans. 15 year old ordered Fajitas with shrimp, we'd, and chicken. The fish was huge and could have been shared. All of the proteins were delicious! Service was super friendly and quick. I did not have alcohol but there is an extensive cocktail menu with nice looking drinks. This places is located a short walk from the water so you don't get the same views you have in most of Fells Point. They have a few tables outside if you prefer to dine there. There was an odd burnt smell inside when I was there and the music was quite loud, so that is what I preferred. The tacos were great and the cabbage topping was really delicious even though I was unsure initially. The service was a little slow with drink refills, but the waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. My fiancé and I had been wanting to try this Mexican restaurant for a while and decided to come for dinner. The outside is very nice and the interior is energetic and surprisingly pretty inside. There's not too much Mexican food in Baltimore, so we were really excited to give it a try. The chips and salsa, as well as the queso were really good. After we ordered, the food itself was flavorful and delicious. The cheese they use is so cheesy and made the dish. Our waiter was one of the biggest disappointments of the dinner. She was very inattentive and did not come back to our table to extended amounts of time. We had to track down other waiters to get any type of service.Something that really upset us was the fact that they automatically add 18% tip to the bill. That would be okay if the waiter cared and actually did their job, but when the waiter was not attentive to our table and didn't do what we asked, then they do not deserve that to be automatically added. They just opened a few months ago, and haven't done much marketing / advertising in the area.. so I think the main reason it's usually semi empty is because people just don't know it's there. The owner is such a great guy, really committed to the quality of the food and devoted to making every patron's experience great. Involves his whole family in the business - if you're lucky enough, you might get to meet a few of his kids! The atmosphere is great.. kind of a mix of anything you might be looking for. Plenty of bar seating (multiple bars, though depending on the volume of patrons sometimes only one is open), multiple high top seating tables in the bar serviced by the barista, many regular tables, and a back room/area that can be used for large parties or rented out for private events/gatherings. Bathrooms are spotless, and interestingly kind of an upscale trough style - the stalls are all individual, but then the sink spans both women and men. Mirrors still give that feeling of privacy, however. Now, on to the drinks. We ordered skinny margaritas and a blueberry mojito.. which were freakin' awesome. Probably in the top 3 margaritas/mojitos I've ever had. They made my skinny margarita spicy on request, as it was excellent. One of the baristas also came by our table after seeing the first version of the mojito we received, and immediately took it back to the bar and remade it. How awesome of service is that?! AND the prices were very reasonable, even though it wasn't happy hour! They're also open for breakfast/brunch with many inexpensive mimosa and bloody mary drink options.. seriously, such a hidden gem. The owner actually sent over two appetizers for us to try on the house.. and they were TO DIE FOR. Let me tell you, Ive eaten at a lot of Mexican places in my lifetime, as done a lot of reviews on here.. if I had to pick ONE dish as my last one on this earth, I'd choose the shrimp and avocado bruschetta. It was absolutely delicious, so much so that I found myself picking every last bit of shrimp out of the leftover tails. The corn fritters were also incredible - could double as a dessert if paired with heavy whipping cream or something. We also ordered some chicken nachos on our own, and they were some of the best nachos I've ever had. No "fake" cheese, so all the real cheese melted and gave that perfect crispy crunch taste on each chip. They were also layered well, so you never really ended up with a plain chip. Only suggestion would be to increase the size of the complimentary salsa. They do provide extra ones if you want them once you've finished your first one, but it's so good everyone always ends up wanting more, and they give way more chips compared to the size of the salsa. They also got approved to have tables and chairs outside in the warmer months, so it would be a great place to sit outside with your dog or your SO and have a margarita and appetizer. Or, if you wan to come with your dog and have brunch with a few mimosas outside on a beautiful spring or summer day. They're also working on starting a tequila club, similar to the concept of gin bars downtown where you pay a small monthly fee to have unlimited access to your personal bottle of tequila in a special tasting room whenever you come, and a discount on your bill when you dine there. Even if you don't want to participate in the club itself, but are a tequila person, this is the place to go - he has SO many selections of awesome tequila from around the world, for any budgetary range (from $2.50 a shot to $250 per bottle to even $250 per shot for the rare ones). TLDR - my new favorite Mexican place to eat in the Fells/Canton area, expansive menu with many options for gluten free/gluten friendly individuals, vegetarian/vegans, and those just wanting to watch their caloric intake a little bit mor. Driving around Fells Point and decided to try a new spot. The place is spacious, clean. Got seated immediately, wasn't too busy. The waitress came and took our drink order upon being seated. We both ordered two different dishes, the quality and quantity was good. The ingredients seemed fresh and tasty. We got refills when we needed it. The restaurant started to get more patrons and it was harder to get things from the waitress, especially the check. But it might be because they were short staffed.
