Recently tried La Calle on an overnight to Baltimore. Would come back next time I'm in Baltimore. We even debated on going back for brunch the next day and I wish we had haha. Def give it a try when you have the chance

This is one of those spots where you end up over eating because everything is soo good! I came in for a drink and maybe an appetizer or dessert. I was blown away by the empanada del dia! The fresh cheese on top and tender juicy filling reminded me of something you would be getting in a Spanish country. I don't like churros normally but these were fresh. They were not covered in an excessive amount of sugar and had just the right amount of salt. The melted chocolate was smooth and warm. The mascarpone was a beautiful touch for perfection. I was already full when I came in. The churros I ordered to go did not make it home! I also enjoyed the margarita but I don't recall which one. Service at the bar was lovely. The restaurant is a bit loud. An unexpected delight and I can't wait to get back

The food is 10/10 with amazing service. The ceviche and queso with chorizo were some of my favorites. Some of the best food in Baltimore.

I came for restaurant week where they offered 3 courses for $45. The ceviche and steak were so flavorful and cooked to perfection! The service was pretty fast and the ambiance was enjoyable.

A great first experience here. The service was friendly and food and drinks were top notch. The interior is spacious with minimal decor. It's very simple but really nice looking inside. We started off with drinks, a tequila drink for my dining partner and the Strawberry Margarita for me. My margarita was well balanced and tasted delicious. We placed two appetizers to share - Queso Fundido with Chorizo and Ceviche de Camaron (shrimp). The queso fundido came with 3 sauces which were all great. The ceviche was well presented and had a light kick to it. We really enjoyed the apps. For our main, we both ordered tacos. I got the Carnitas de Pato Tacos (duck confit) and my friend got Camaron Frito Tacos (crispy shrimp). They looked delicious and tasted even better. The duck confit tacos had plenty of duck and was so flavorful. I tried my friend's shrimp taco which was also great. Will definitely be back soon!

The food: 8/10 Barbacoa de Cordero -- 10/10: Knockout good! The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender and well-seasoned. We finished the whole dish without even using the corn tortillas. Pork Costillitas -- 9/10: Very flavorful and juicy. I loved the yuca fries--starchy, hearty, and a touch sticky, with a rich texture that really complemented the dish. Ceviche del Día -- 7.8/10: The tuna was succulent and the overall flavor was well-balanced. If you like ceviche, this is a solid pick. We also tried Aguachile de la Pasión. It was fresh, but the seasoning skewed too sour for both me and my friend. The flan was delicious as well, just not as distinctive as the standouts above. Environment & Service The space is beautiful and thoughtfully designed--great for dates or a family feast. We did take off a few points for slow service; we had to call servers multiple times for the dessert menu and the check.

Cute Mexican spot for dinner! Wasn't too crowded on a Tuesday night but we made a reservation for three anyway. The food was decent but the elote and the green enchilada sauce was my favorite. The chicken enchiladas were good but I feel like the meat tasted better the next day after the flavors had time to sink in. The service was quick and nice . I will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

La Calle is located in Fells so parking can be tricky but that means the outdoor seating is great to people watch and enjoy some yummy Mexican food. We did opt to sit inside which is just as cute and well decorated. Overall, the food is excellent but our waiter did forget a few things (I'm realizing now I never got my guac so I have no idea if La Calle does a good guac or not). Also, the bathrooms are unisex (they were clean enough but just not my preference). Queso Fundido with Chorizo: I was expecting gooey cheese but it was MELTED cheese. Also it was served with warmed tortillas and not chips Chicken empanadas: yummy, crispy, fan favorite, came with a sauce with a little bit of heat to it Chicken enchiladas: solid choice, drenched in mole sauce which was yummy Tacos: short rib was flavorful but a little dry, same for the chorizo, pork belly was the best and my favorite Guava Marg: didn't taste much guava but still a yummy drink Churros: 10/10, no notes Sauces and salsas: I'm a sauce girl and these were delicious

Good bar service. Pretty ambiance and decor. Was torn between fish or shrimp tacos. Got both which have identical fixings! Fish was better. Both were good. Elotes were piping hot and delicious with all the mouth puckering spices. Bartender was chill and gave us attentive service. Cocktails & mocktails were good. I recommend the guava margarita. Tres leches had a unique sour (passion fruit I think?) twist and was delicious. If you're not a fan of sour, I would skip on that one but I liked it! Will definitely go again when in the area to try other dishes!!

Calle is a great spot for happy hour! If you're looking for solid drinks and bites at affordable prices, this is a place worth checking out. Most happy hour items are between $7 and $10, which is a win. We started with the nachitos --a flavorful snack that paired perfectly with their smoked chili oil and green chile salsa. Definitely a standout! The nachos had great flavor too, but like many places, the bottom layer was missing the beans and cheese, so I didn't end up finishing the whole plate. Still, for the price, not bad at all. My friend got the agua chiles and enjoyed it! Said it was very flavorful. I'm not a raw fish eater, but I did try it and it was actually pretty good. The sangria was a highlight--strong yet refreshing. We also enjoyed the grapefruit Paloma, which was well balanced and citrusy. The bartending staff were super friendly and didn't rush us, even though we arrived just 10 minutes before happy hour ended. The ambiance was cool, clean, and chill--not too loud or crowded. Plus, if you speak Spanish, it's a great spot to practice while you sip and snack. I'd definitely come back for another round!

Our server was attentive and professional. Had the spicy margarita (even one was on the house after I told them I was a teacher). Appetizers were the crab fritters and quesadilla with steak. Delicious. Entrees were the roasted chicken and Wagy steak. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had dinner at Maximón a few nights ago. I'd wanted to check it out for a while,…read morebut I'm almost never in Harbor East. Maximón is the Atlas Group's Mexican/South American restaurant in the Four Seasons Building (between Azumi and Loch Bar), and it's as beautiful as you'd expect of an Atlas restaurant: high ceilings, leafy plants, pottery, gorgeous bar, great light... With Latin music playing, it fault like a beautiful and relaxing space for a Mexican meal. (They consider themselves a Mexican and South American restaurant. Other than a couple of dishes, like a more Peruvian take on a ceviche, the menu and decor read almost entirely Mexican-inspired to me). We started with a few drinks. A spicy mezcalita for him; a fruity, smoky Sotol-based cocktail for me. It's rare that we stick with a drink if ordering a second round. I almost always want to try something else or switch to wine with the meal. But both of us ordered the same for our second round - the drinks were good. Our food was less successful overall. We started with their yellowtail ceviche (with sweet potato, corn, cilantro, red onion, radish, fresno chile, and leche de tigre - the ceviche that leaved very Peruvian), which was good, but the fish was surprisingly fishy (it might have improved the dish to marinate the fish - it was more like a crudo than a ceviche as it was served, since the fish just sat on top of the leche de tigre). But it was a pretty good dish. Next up was their chile relleno appetizer (roasted poblano pepper, fresh pomegranate seeds, mozzarella, queso chihuahua, and avocado puree). This dish was pretty good (although - am I crazy or did they use a wonton wrapper rather than a flour dredge for the fried relleno?!). The relleno was simple and the cheese had a great cheese pull. The avocado puree was acidic enough to be a good accompaniment to the fried component of the dish. Next, we had two tacos. (FYI their tacos are one per order and pretty wildly expensive. The cheapest is their al pastor at $10/taco, and the most expensive is their Angus ribeye for $22/taco). We ordered one al pastor (duroc pork, pineapple, avocado salsa cruda), and one pulpo zarandeado (chile-spiced octopus, cabbage al escabeche, and salsa borracha). The filling of both tacos was pretty good, but - and this has never happened to me before - one tortilla didn't even make it one minute at our table. I picked the taco up and the tortilla just gave out - it was soggy and fell apart. I've never seen this happen with tortillas made in house and fresh. I suspect that the filling sat on the tortilla for a while before they served it (which is weird, because the food came very fast and all at once). We showed our waiter, who immediately brought us two additional tortillas so we could transfer the filling. These tortillas - when fresh and not having sat out with filling on them - were excellent. (Their menu says they source their heirloom corn for their tortillas from Oaxaca, and the flavor and texture of these replacement tacos were great.) We also ordered a side of black bean risotto (with caramelized manchego cheese), which had great flavor but very overcooked rice. Then, we shared a dessert, too - their pastel de chocolate (which they now serve with fruit to break up the rich chocolate). The dessert was okay - I wish it had much more of the guava puree, because that was so bright and delicious, but you couldn't taste it against the strong, rich flavor of the chocolate. (I also had a shot of great tequila with the dessert - their bar program really wowed me.) I absolutely have to give a shoutout to our waiter David. He was great. I started this review at three stars - the food was just inconsistent and didn't wow me - but as I was writing this paragraph on service, I knew I had to raise it to four stars. On the food alone, I might have given Maximón three stars, but at the same meal, we experienced five star service. David was friendly and helpful and was hands out the best part of our experience at Maximón. Ultimately, the food was a little underwhelming to me, but I would absolutely return to Maximón based on the quality of the drinks and that great service. Maximón has a Harbor-facing patio, which in warmer months, looks like a dream. I'd absolutely come back, request David as our waiter, and drink cocktails on the patio all evening!

Don't let the outside deceive you. Once you walk in you'll smell the fresh cilantro and chile. It took a bit to translate the menu, but you'll figure it out. There are plenty of options. The server helped us figure it out and we were set. I ordered the El pastor tacos, beans & rice, and tortilla chips. The tacos were theeee best! What I loved the most is that the corn tortillas didn't fall apart!!! I hate it when I go to eat a taco and it falls apart. They cooked the tortillas enough so they held up, but were still soft. Did I already say how good the tacos were?! Along with the meat is cilantro, some onions, and you can top it with some green chili sauce. Sooooo good! The pico de Gallo was some of the best I've ever had. I know what you're thinking. How could you go wrong with pico de Gallo? Yeah, I wonder the same thing, but this pico was FRESH with just the right ratio of tomato, onion, cilantro, etc. Next time I'll order two of them. The chips are restaurant-made. That was our first indicator that the food was going to be ALL that we hoped it would be. AND it was. The beans were pinto beans. Memories from home and the ultimate comfort food.
