Beef nachos and carne enchilada (pork)

Had dinner here on a Thursday night after an appointment at John's Hopkins. We were served complimentary chips and pico de gallo - my wife said it's the best tortilla chips she's ever had. We had carne asada nachos and the carne enchilada as entrees. The nachos were a huge portion, easily could've fed both of us on just that. The carne enchilada was flavorful, and the side salad came with more than just lettuce and tomatoes and it was dressed, a nice touch that doesn't come at most Mexican places. Super authentic, and we'll be back!

Costumer service: 4:5 My table wasn't entirely clean (there were crumbs from previous costumer). The attendant, cooks and staff is very polite, nice and attentive. (ENG) I really liked these, in comparison to other places the taste of these ones is closer to those homemade. The only thing that I think I was missing was the refried beans. (ENG) Very tasty, there is a balance among the ingredients; vegetables & proteins, excluding the mayo. I recommend asking for light mayo as it can overwhelm the taste of the other stuff. Missing a lil bit more pineapple but I love the ham they use here! Mexican tortas are known for their type of bread; telera or bolillo. They use a different pan and I would also recommend you ask them to make sure it is well toasted. I am in a mission to try all the Mexican restaurants in Eastern Ave, and I will definitely come back and try other items in their menu.

Honestly probably the best Mexican place in Baltimore City. Im giving this a five star because the best Mexican food I've ever had is obviously in Mexico but it is so difficult to find a good Mexican place in Baltimore City . We've been to several and then finally one day we gave this place a try and now it's our go-to spot ! We love it . It's a hole in the wall type of place . Don't expect good service (the ladies are nice) but my Fiance speaks Spanish so I guess I could see the language barrier for some people here . I always get the mexican bisteca. Freken fantastic . The rice and beans are also very good as well . I've tried the seafood soup before too and it's good but not good enough for me to get it again. Anyways- if you haven't tried this place yet, please do yourself a favor and go try it now ! Portions are amazing and FYI - they are cash only !

Mom and pop shop with fresh, light food. The cheese flautas and tacos are non-greasy and don't make you feel like a brick after eating them. The street tacos are double wrapped in corn tortillas and stuffed with meat. Def would return!

Garlic Chicken

OK the service is slow and there little ambience. However, they have the best garlic chicken platter you'll ever eat. It is beyond delicious and everyone whoever eats it loves it. I don't even believe it's on the menu or if it is it's in Spanish and I don't understand the translation. It may just be that this dish takes longer than most, so if you want to call them you can order ahead of time. It's massive, very taste and comes with beans and rice. The chips and salsa is also excellent.

I've lived two blocks away from this place for almost a year now and just now discovered them, in the midst of social distancing. My roommates and I ordered takeout for Cinco de Mayo and it was SO GOOD. The food was ready within 25 minutes, and everyone was happy with their meal. I had the vegetarian tacos (they have a bunch of vegetarian options), which were amazing and went really well with the red/hot sauce. My roommates had some other tacos, a burrito, and a torta and all were very satisfied. We all agreed that is the best, most authentic Mexican/Spanish food we've had in Baltimore.

I LOVE their food! I usually get the camarones al mojo de ajo (Shrimp in garlic sauce), and it comes with beans and mexican rice. It is so fuflfilling, wholesome and satisfying that I really crave it when I am super hungry and craving something comforting. It's run by a family and they are really sweet. I usually go there for weekday late lunches and always get the best service. The chips are the best chips I have ever eaten in a mexican restaurant and the same goes for the salsa as well- always fresh and spot on. I also do just beans and rice takeouts from them as well when I have meats/proteins at home but don't want to cook the side dishes, and one large serving is plenty for two adults. We are so glad that we found this place, since I was looking for a homely mexican place that serves homemade food since we are really used to the mexican hole in the walls in new york and been missing those until we found Los Mariachis! Yayy 5 stars

Love it here! Informal restaurant with amazing food. The fresh salsa is always slightly different, but that's the beauty of this place. Fresh and authentic. Cooked with care. BYOB

They weren't kidding when the said the portions are huge. Chorizo nachos
Michelle W.

Wow, people said before that these were big servings, but WOW. They really are!? The nachos came out on a platter. I think it's enough for a full meal for 2 people. Seemed like the tortilla chips were home made (and possibly fried on the spot since it took a while for them to prepare). It's a lot of refried beans at the bottom, some white sauce, lettuce, cotija, and meat (if ordered it). I think there may also have been some salsa?? So in all honest, I'm not sure what traditional nachos are like, but I would have liked a bit more salsa and a bit less of the beans because that made everything really soggy. I did like cotija instead of pepper jack. Would I come back? Occasionally. It's a bit of an indulgence. Also, the service is really slow...

Bistec tacos

Absolutely delicious corn tortilla tacos! We order the bistec and chorizo, and they taste amazing with the homemade salsa verde.

Each taco is extremely fresh and I can tell that it was crafted meticulously in the kitchen. Be mindful that each taco is priced separately and you get a single taco ranging from $10.00 - 15.00. The guacamole is fresh and garnished with strawberries. Personally, I typically go for a spicier and more flavorful guac, but if you opt for a fresh and simple dish, then it certainly checks the box. The queso is thick, cheesy, and topped with peppers. I personally could appreciate a creamier queso, but I will say the dish looks and smells amazing. The oysters are rather small in size but they're extremely fresh and come topped with a jalapeño. My expectations for the drinks were a bit higher than what they delivered. Drinks tasted a bit watery and the flavor wasn't as potent (this says a lot for someone like myself who is pretty light weight). Service was fairly accommodating, however, keep in mind that they enforce a rule of having half of your party there prior to seating you. Also be mindful that their menu changes to dinner at 5:00PM, and seating at the outside bar may be closed depending on when you arrive. My favorite of all the dishes was the was the Al Pastor taco! I'd like to give this place another try because just based off of the aesthetic alone it has sooo much potential to be absolutely amazing!

Don't let the outside deceive you. Once you walk in you'll smell the fresh cilantro and chile. It took a bit to translate the menu, but you'll figure it out. There are plenty of options. The server helped us figure it out and we were set. I ordered the El pastor tacos, beans & rice, and tortilla chips. The tacos were theeee best! What I loved the most is that the corn tortillas didn't fall apart!!! I hate it when I go to eat a taco and it falls apart. They cooked the tortillas enough so they held up, but were still soft. Did I already say how good the tacos were?! Along with the meat is cilantro, some onions, and you can top it with some green chili sauce. Sooooo good! The pico de Gallo was some of the best I've ever had. I know what you're thinking. How could you go wrong with pico de Gallo? Yeah, I wonder the same thing, but this pico was FRESH with just the right ratio of tomato, onion, cilantro, etc. Next time I'll order two of them. The chips are restaurant-made. That was our first indicator that the food was going to be ALL that we hoped it would be. AND it was. The beans were pinto beans. Memories from home and the ultimate comfort food. The were cooked perfectly with just enough seasoning. The rice was perfectly cooked too. This is the taco spot you need to try.

It's there and cooked without oil immersion or the awful trap of terrible portioning. Here, the nutrients shine. And that is healthy. Price: Decent. Very Decent. Everything I bought there was roughly over 45 dollars (before the tipping) and keep in mind, the condiments and sauces were complimentary. For this quality and quantity? I definitely got my money's worth. Experience: Wonderful server. Even in a busy dinner cycle, she came over and literally started to hand me a menu almost right as I sat down. Even gave me a great recommendation for the Enchilada platter and brought the holster of extras over to the table as well. The food was delivered quickly, and the small details (utensils, cleanliness, chair organization etc.) were great. Taste: Honestly this place is a standout for seasoning. It's flavorful, unique, and skewed towards spices over oil. Tasteful impact, without the baggage. A gem. Even among so many other restaurants serving this cuisine in the area I've tried, this is a standout. I'll come eat here again. You should too. It's right next to Patterson park with so many parking spaces nearby. I'm gonna run here. Soon.
